Located reasonably close to where my in-laws live considering how large and spread out the Houston area is, Robin's Snowflake Donut & Cafe was the number one place I wanted to make sure we stopped at on our recent holiday trip. Specifically, I was interested in trying their breakfast egg rolls. In addition to the egg rolls I got a mild boudin kolache, a sausage kolache, and a strawberry cheesecake donut. The egg rolls were only ok. The egg roll wrapper was very greasy and it heavily masked the flavor of cheese and egg. Sausage was the predominant flavor I could taste outside of the wrap and it was fine. The sausage kolache was more like a hot dog wrapped in a crescent roll. As someone from the Midwest who's used to eating real sausage, a hot dog was not what I was expecting when I hear/read the word sausage. Like the egg rolls it was ok, but also like the egg rolls it's not something I'd want again. I took one bite of the boudin kolache and didn't take another. The texture was too mushy. The best part of the visit was the strawberry cheesecake donut and that one thing made the stop worth it. Their donut selection isn't massive, but it seems to be what they do best as the rest of the group also loved their donuts.

Drove out to the Woodlands area and knew I had to stop by Robin's since it appeared on a Yelp top list. It's a small, unassuming donut/breakfast spot in a strip mall. Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by Robin and allowed time to peruse what they had, even though they were close to closing. I got a few donuts and orders of all of their eggrolls. The donuts were awesome as they have Asian flavors like coconut pandan and ube but also traditional ones. I loved the coconut pandan cake donut and I'm not usually a cake donut person. What really won me over were the eggrolls, its ingenious to use eggrolls as a vessel for "breakfast" and various other fillings. Kolaches may reign as the supreme breakfast to go in Houston but these eggrolls are my number one. If I lived closer, I'd be there daily. My personal favorite was the boudin eggroll, such a great flavorful sausage filling with some creamy melty cheese and all wrapped in a crisp eggroll shell. You have to wait a bit for the eggrolls as they're made to order but that just makes them all the better. This is, to me, def a destination food spot and for those willing to drive for food (and early since they close at noon) make the time and effort to do so!

We learned about Robin's Snowflake Donuts from a Yelp list of the best donut shops in Texas. When we were exploring northern Houston suburbs on our way to The Woodlands, it was the perfect opportunity to make our way to their shop. Upon arriving, you'll notice it's in a large plaza with many other businesses and plenty of non restricted parking. It's a cute little shop on the inside with elevated bar stool seating on one side and tables on the other. All of their donuts are front and center in the large display case. We chose a few that looked particularly interesting in the pandan coconut, ube cake, and creme brulee. We also had to try their breakfast egg rolls partially because of novelty and partially because we needed a protein fix. In terms of the donuts, you can't go wrong with any of these three (or for that matter anything else in their case on a given day). The pandan and coconut flavors were very pronounced and the texture of the donut was superb. It was like the perfect balance of sweetness and softness. The ube cake donut was also fantastic. The crème brûlée did a great job at mimicking the crunchy topping of the dessert with a custard center. In terms of the eggrolls, please go try these as well. With their perfectly crunchy exterior, flavorful fillings, and impressive serving size, you can enjoy them as a delicious main course for breakfast or brunch. Finally, you'll feel like a member of the family or a long time friend when you stop in. The level of service we received isn't routinely matched by other businesses. It added to the positive impression we had after devouring their delicacies. We'll definitely be returning soon!

I'm fairly convinced that if I lived up in Spring that I would be a regular at Robin's because they're just that good. In fact, they're so stellar that I'm actually a little jealous I don't live in Spring (#1) or that I don't have something similar in my neck of the woods. There isn't anything I've tried here that wasn't outstanding and based on the reviews / ratings, I'm certainly not alone. Based on looks alone, it looks like an average shop in a strip mall. There is limited seating, ideal for a coffee date or a solo meal. Takeout is what most folks are doing. Stick around long enough and one will always see a flurry of people going in and out of the place. They're coming for the same thing: excellent food and incredible customer service. Their donuts are top notch, however, it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of their fabulous offerings. Where they shine are their seasonal donuts and custom orders for special occasions. The letter donuts are popular for birthdays and are beautifully decorated. Their malasadas might be some of the best I've had outside of Hawaii, which is no small feat. Whether it's a maple bacon, cake donut, or fruity pebbles, or plain old fashioned, it's going to be a winner. The boudin / breakfast egg rolls deserve their own paragraph. Normally I scoff at fusion egg rolls but these are light, have the perfect amount of crisp and are delicious right out of the oven and when they're sitting around room temperature. Not one place can compare. This is one of the most foodgasmic businesses in Houston. Like any good Texas based donut shop, they also have kolaches and they're great. Jalapeño sausage or boudin ones are equally delectable. They also have fruit based (#2) kolaches as well and their fritters are enormous. Not enough people realize they also have a killer king cake that they serve during Mardi Gras season. All of their pastries are pretty, tasty, and very affordable. Lastly, the staff and the owners are some of the nicest people I've come across. Cambodian-owned donut shops are ubiquitous, but this has to be up there with some of the best in the country. Every time I've had their food, I'm left contemplating how much I enjoyed it for days. It sounds dramatic, but they've solidified their position as one of my favorite places to indulge. They get my highest recommendation and I can't wait to go back again and again. __________ (#1) Said by no one ever. (#2) You know, the authentic stuff. What kolaches *actually* are.

We moved to the area a few months ago and we're so happy when we discovered Robin's donuts. My husband and I always look forward to the fresh kolaches and whatever the special is of the day, while my two-year old son has literally loved everything he's eaten from there. Everything is delicious, and I have recommended it to countless neighbors and friends in the area. For my son's second birthday, we placed a custom order for donuts instead of a typical birthday cake. Not only was their communication and service incredible, the donuts were adorable and exactly what I asked for. My son clearly enjoyed them from the pictures but so did all the other kids. They made great pictures and tasted delicious! Thank you for making his special day extra sweet!!

I'm from Hawaii and am always on the look out for some yummy Hawaii treats. And this fits the ticket. We drive 40 min to get here and this is our second time here. This time I called ahead to preorder them and got a couple of them filled for my mom who just moved here from Hawaii. This was a special birthday celebration for her.

I always love supporting mom and pop shops and this one didn't disappoint. Being our first time, the staff was very patient and helpful when placing our order and offered to bring the food to our car. Now, you might be wondering why do I have to wait for donuts...well actually we were waiting for our egg rolls as they are made to order, but oh boy was it worth it! Also, the wait wasn't bad as they had a table and chairs to sit, and a cute little kids play area, so something for everyone! In terms of food, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tasted but my favorites were the egg rolls. I've had each of the components separately like boudin and the scrambled sausage and egg mix for their breakfast egg rolls, but man was it ingenious to fry it. I am still so amazed how crispy and flaky the "egg roll" was and the fillings just as tasty, especially that breakfast one! I also thought their kolaches/klobasniky were pretty tasty and was quite surprised how light and airy the donuts were. The flavors of each of the donuts were also so tasty, especially the maple bacon one where the bacon was still crispy! If you are ever on this side of town definitely give this cute little Cambodian owned donut place a visit! Oh, and just a heads up Robin's isn't on the storefront sign, look for the sign that says Snowflake Donuts N'Cafe when pulling up to the shopping strip. I can't wait to come back to try the fritters, so bummed I didn't get to order them but yay for trying new foods next time!

Ambiance was welcoming. Kolaches were good but Donuts were not that great..The chocolate with sprinkles was good, the "gourmet" biscoff donut topping was great but the donut bread felt a little stale. The disappointing part is when she put the filled donut (in picture) next to my biscoff (in the same paper plate SIDEWAYS in a bag. They both rubbed off on the bag (the chocolate topping ) so the topping was smeared on the bag and the plate It just looks a mess and I took it out for my family and they didn't even want it anymore. I suggest putting any special topping donuts or gourmet donuts in a bag individually.

Although unfortunately I cannot try the kolaches or the famous egg rolls that they have over here, as the meat is not halal, I was surprised most by how great the customer service was. I have spent hundreds of dollars on custom ordering donuts from other places and although the donuts taste and look great, I am hardly even greeted with a smile or a kind word and over here they were very kind when I came to pick up my order. Finally, some southern hospitality! I custom ordered donuts for a religious holiday, that I wanted because I saw that they did Happy Birthday donuts, which is also something that I am also looking forward to getting later! As long as the customer service stays this high, I am definitely going to be a loyal customer! Of course the donuts tasted delicious and were absolutely gorgeous too, but I would not expect anything less from a donut place especially here in the Houston area, since there is so much competition. The owner, who took my order over text was so great and communicated fantastically to get my order exactly how I wanted it. I'm looking forward to coming back and making custom orders as well! read more

Saw on the Yelp announcement email, yesterday, the listing for the "Best Donuts in Each State "and Robin's is listed as the best in Texas. After going on the webpage and seeing they make Malasadas, a donut popular in Hawaii and popular with our son who was completing a national licensing exam, I wanted to suprise him, have them for him when he finishes the exam, and so I had to make the drive. When we go to Hawaii he must get these donuts! For the malasadas you must call in ahead of time or accept a 15-20 minute wait, in that they are made fresh and filling added at that time. I met Robin when I got there, she had just finished my order, and the malasadas where warm and smelled so good.. I ordered unfilled, coconut cream, chocolate, guava/strawberry, and mango; sprinkled with sugar. Once in my car I was overcome by the delightful smell of warm malasadas and had to try one, actually two!! OMG!!! What else to say than Yelp you got this one right!! These are the absolute best. Why 5 stars? Because Houston's kolache and donut scene strikes again. --- --- --- I don't know what it is about Houston and donuts/kolaches. Since I grew up here, I just assumed it was like this everywhere, but I swear Houston has at least 10x the donuts per capita of any other city. And so many of them are very Shipley's-esque. This is a good thing because I think Shipley's has always had the best donuts, but it's just amusing to me how many of these places there are. And as far as Kolaches, no one in Tampa (where we just moved from) even knew what a kolache was. When Robin's popped up on Yelp's Top 100 in Texas list, I bookmarked it and figured I would try it out sometime when visiting family. A couple of months later, I moved to Texas and was able to stop by. Well, my wife stopped by and brought them home, but what's mine is hers, right? Because of the aforementioned travel time from store to my mouth, I threw them in the microwave for about 30 seconds beforehand, which had them tasting just as fresh as could be. I tried a brisket kolache, a sausage and cheese kolache, boudin egg rolls and a plain glazed donut. All were really great. I don't think I'd ever had a boudin egg roll, which is what made this donut shop unique compared to the others like it. If I see something like that on a menu in the future, I will definitely be trying it. While we were not in the area super often, we will definitely be back when we're close enough to pop in. read more

I was so happy to have found this place and after having found them I can see why they are so high up the Google search. I felt welcomed from the moment I entered the shop. My mama and I went to visit this quaint little shop and fell in love. The innovative eggrolls were captivating, and this was our first kolaches experience, as we are new to the area. They are very much "like Hawaiian sweet bread" and a filling. Delicious!! We also ordered a half dozen of the maple bacon donuts (so fluffy they'll melt right in your mouth). awesome place. I ordered Cupid's Arrows donuts for my sons 16th bday, hes a valentines baby, so thought it would be a funny treat for him! I had set my pick up for today at noon and i totally spaced my pick up and they closed at noon, she texted me at 12:05 to check on me and stayed open until 12:30 so i could pick up my sons donuts. She didnt make me feel bad and was so amazing and even wished my son a happy birthday when i was walking out. If I could give this shop 10 stars I would! I found out they make Malasadas (Hawaiian doughnuts for those who don't know)!!! I haven't had these since I left Hawaii and I am absolutely smitten!!! First time customer that will be a forever customer!!! I placed an order for a variety of Malasadas to bring to work! They were freshly made and so so good! I highly recommend Robin's Snowflake Donuts and Cafe! I ordered strawberry, raspberry, lemon, ube creme, coconut crème, and Bavarian chocolate! No complains! All were yummy! Came In to try their boudain eggrolls which were not bad. I had only ever tried this one other place in Houston, so I was on a mission. Robinn was really sweet and welcoming. He even gave me a free giant cinnamon roll (delicious btw) since it was my first visit! I came in for eggrolls, and came out loaded up with goodies- I even got their donut holes since my son loves those too. Really nice place to stop in for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area. They even completed my order with 24 hour notice and then texted me to make sure everything went well. This place knows true customer service and loves making their customers happy. I visited this doughnut shop on the suggestion from participants of a Facebook group I belong to called "The Woodlands Spring,TX. Foodie Club". And I'm glad I did. I ordered the glazed doughnut, an apple fritter, and a latte. It's a small family run place with a great feel. Lamentably the new latte/cappuccino machine was not working so I was told that I wouldn't be enjoying a cup of coffee with my doughnuts. But after I had sat down I was surprised by the owner who dropped by my table and handed me the latte free of charge. She excused the fact that the machine wasn't working when I had ordered initially. -Awesome Service- The doughnut was very tasty. It didn't have the airiness of a Krispy Kreme but the additional flavor of the bread was well worth the choice over KK. The apple fritter was amazing. It pulled apart easily and had small chunks of apples in the glaze. Both pastries dunked well, holding their shape and not losing much glaze in the hot coffee. If my family weren't on the keto diet I would be taking them to this doughnut shop every week. What a delight. read more

Hands down the best breakfast treat in all of South Texas. I'm the biggest fan of their brisket egg rolls. I'd pay for that brisket recipe!! While these are my favorite, they're best known for their boudin egg rolls. Those are so yummy - salty and tangy. Just such a cool take on boudin here on the Gulf coast. They also have the best fruit fritters - I love the apple ones but in summer we get to have fresh peach fritters!! Beyond their daily delicious fair, they also do personalize donuts. Robin was so kind to let us choose the colors and she had them ready right in time. Our kid was so psyched to see Happy B-Day Jake written out in donuts when he woke up. The customer service is as great as I remember it, they still do decaf and sugar free, which is what my order usually is, and they have to order out quickly--and most importantly, it is right. I've had almost all of the drinks on the menu at this point, but my favorite is still the cookie and the caramel. I don't know the name of the girl who it served me today, but she was so great and put a smile on my face-- and reminded me that they do have decaf and sugar free options. I'm going to have to come back more often! Especially since I have a new stamp card now!

I've been to the Tomball location when it was much busier, and the service there was still fast and attentive, which set a high expectation. Overall, the experience didn't match the premium pricing. I truly hope this location improves, but based on this visit, I wouldn't return to this one.

Oh man, if you're looking for a donut shop that is clean, has fresh donuts daily so you're not eating yesterday's unsold inventory...come here. I highly recommended the boudain and the brisket egg rolls, or the brisket kolaches inside of a homemade Hawaiian roll if you are looking for something savory. Or the apple fritters or cinnamon twists if you want something sweet. They also make personalized letter donuts for that "Happy birthday or Congratulations " event upon request.
