I visited here one weeknight when I was in the mood for Greek food. They're not really a typical sit down restaurant but they do serve some hearty dishes. During my visit, I was the only dine in customer and I'm thinking most customers may order to go or do catering as the atmosphere just isn't very homey at all. I reviewed the menu and was originally set on ordering some dish with beef tenderloin as they have a few, but I ended up selecting my go-to, a gyro. I didn't want fries, so I subbed for the lemon potatoes. The gyro was very large and filling, and tasty. The pieces of meat were just shaved and not crispy or anything like you may receive on some gyro at other places. The potatoes were homemade and basically 1/4 potatoes, sliced lengthwise. I was so full from the gyro that I only ate one of the potatoes but didn't think it was very lemony at all. Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home. I stopped in with a friend Sunday for lunch. When we came in they weren't super busy so we found a table pretty quickly. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They have a bunch of pastries on display and the woman working behind the counter walked us through every single one of them and explained them all to us. I ordered a traditional gyro with french fries and a strawberry lemonade. The lamb was so soft and tender, it was seasoned very well. It was genuinely one of the best gyros I've ever had. The french fries were cooked and cut fresh. For dessert I had the fresh strawberry torte, it was good not my favorite. I came here with some friend excited to try this place for brunch but sadly left very underwhelmed. We went to eat on a Saturday morning and the place was packed but thankfully we got a table pretty quick. The menu was pretty straight forward but I am allergic to pork so I asked about a couple of items and decided to get the Traditional Greek Breakfast. I was told by the person who I assume to be yhe owner, that the sausage was beef, not pork. My friends order their meals, some of the specials for that weekend and we go back to our table. Now for the lady who I assumed was the owner, I assumed this because of how she talked to the rest of the staff. Besides herself it seemed like 2 or maybe 3 other people were working their. She was incredibly rude to her staff and I could tell on of the workers seemed very overwhelmed. We waited 45 for one of our four meals to make it to the table and then another 15 for the second and about 20 minutes after that everyone had their food, so yea the wait time was absolutely ridiculous. We did see people who came in after is get their meals first, so I am not sure if your ticket got bumped or what happened but we did ask about the wait time and didn't really get a response about when we might see our food. Once it finally made it out we all felt it was kind of lack luster. Thankfully one of my friends also got sausage and gave me the heads up it was definitely pork. Since I couldn't eat the sausage, my Greek breakfast we a pile of fries with a fried egg and a little feta sprinkles. The only saving grace to this place was the pastries we took to-go. It's a good thing it's expensive for desserts (VERY well worth the prices for amazing handmade treats!) or I'd eat way too many of them! What a great find! The workers are friendly and patient, eager to tell you what the items are if you have questions, and the great smell of food coming from the two groups of people eating lunch made me want to eat lunch again just to try it. I love this little place. It is small inside, but I never have a problem with getting a table. You order at the register and sit where you want. The lady at the register is there every time I went, not sure if she's the owner. They used to have circle potato fries but they don't have them anymore. Where have you been all my life? This is an amazing bakery and Greek cafe on Louetta, family owned and run. Their menu is populated with many Greek favorites and their bakery case filled with delicious and delightful options. We were served by the daughter who explained what every pastry contained and even served us up a couple of samples. The pastries here are visually stunning and exquisitely delicious. I couldn't decide on one and ended up with nearly a dozen treats to take home. For dinner I order the traditional lamb/beef gyro plate and was beyond impressed with quantity and quality of meat that was packed up. The pita was light and delicious and the accompanying Greek salad was resplendent with olives and feta. The Greek dinner salad also contained copious amounts of chicken gyro meat when added to the dish. Sweet Greek has a warm and welcoming environment and is sure to appeal to all your senses. This is a charming restaurant serving cafe vibes, good quality Greek food, and exquisite desserts. I stopped by with some coworkers for a quick bite during lunch, and service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the falafel with a side of homemade fries and baba ganoush. The falafel was on the drier side of what I'm used to, but my coworkers raved about their chicken orzo soup and chicken gyros. While the food was nice, this establishment really shines in terms of their sweets. The dessert case is a magnificent display of colors and textures! I could have stood there browsing all day. Between the four of us we shared a variety of desserts, and the standouts for me were the raspberry baklava and kunefe. Parking is in a lot but can get tight during the busier hours. The dining area and bathroom were really clean, but the drinking glasses had a slightly unpleasant smell. Having said that, this is a great place for a casual lunch or to catch up over desserts with some friends. Sooo... they're not as over-the-top friendly as they were when I wrote my original review. I don't know if there was a big staffing upheaval or they're all just stressed getting used to new workflows with the diner portion or what. Don't get me wrong, the service isn't actively bad or rude. If I had visited for the first time this year, I wouldn't think twice about it. But it is a marked difference from before: there WAS a change for the worse, even if the current way isn't objectively bad. And maybe that also shades my impression of the lunch/dinner add-ons. I'm already missing how it was - the cute little aqua chairs, the huge variety of pastries which is now a bit simplified. I finally tried a lunch this weekend, and we got falafel gyros with iced tea. First impression was yikes, the prices. Everything is in the $15-20 range, which is more than we'd intended to spend, but okay. The pastry side of their menu has brief descriptions of each item, but most of the entrees (platters) do not. Beautiful presentation and good flavor; deceptively filling and hearty. However, the further we are through our gyros, the drier they felt. Maybe the tzatziki sauce, onions, tomatoes were too front-loaded; maybe the tannins from the incredibly strong tea were messing with our tongues. Ice is provided in a little ice bucket which emptied quickly, and the a/c was not keeping up -- either with the heat of the day or the heat of the exposed kitchen elements, I don't know which. I'm still going with 4 stars, since I don't think they deserve 3, but the whole experience this visit and my previous couple post-kitchen expansion have been let-downs compared to the high bar set by my initial visits. I wish them success with this investment and change in their business plan, but for myself, I wish they had done a spin-off instead of changing this cafe so much. I'm honestly only lukewarm in my desire to frequent here now. It was a place I adored with unconditional compliments, and now it's just.... normal, a little pricey, a little stuffy, not worth going out of your way for. read more

This is a new favorite of ours! Having been to Greece on a vacation with my wife last year, we had a chance to sample some of Greece's finest cuisine. We grew to love it, and finding this new gem in our hometown has been a real treat! On our first visit, we went for coffee and pastries, but we were surprised to find that they also have main dishes. We promised ourselves a return trip based on the positive experience with the very friendly staff, the delicious chocolate-covered baklava, and the fun and friendly ambiance. We were not disappointed! I had the fish and chips while my wife had a gyro platter. The fish was battered and friend perfectly; the outside was a golden crispy while the fish itself was flaky and soft. The fish tasted fresh, and the portion (three pieces) was more than enough for me. The chips, or fries, that were served along with it were sweet potato by choice, and they were delicious as well. My wife's gyro platter was a great serving and she also opted for the sweet potato fries. Our dishes also came with a salad with a nice vinegar dressing with feta cheese on top. The pastries are amazing here, and even if you don't eat lunch or dinner here, the pastries and coffee alone are worth the trip! Their chocolate-covered baklava has become a favorite of ours. Their serving gives you two of these which my wife and I now always split. The chocolate on the outside of the baklava is crowned with some ground pistachio, and the inside (the baklava itself) is flaky and delicious: just like baklava should be! And if you like Greek Coffee, then you will be happy to learn that Sweet Greek Pastries makes the most authentic Greek Coffee I've been able to find outside of Greece! A definite favorite of mine that I always get now every time I visit. Just give them some time to make it; I usually let the staff know I'm going to have one so they can get it started while I decide what else to eat. Speaking of the staff, every visit has been simply stellar in large part due to the staff. They're friendly, fun, helpful, and very efficient. read more

Nestled on Louetta, minutes from Vintage Park, is a new Greek bakery and cafe that offers the most scrumptious food. I went here for lunch today and was greeted by one of the owners. She was so nice! I learned she's Greek American and her husband is from Greece and is a third generation baker. The display cases are full of sweet delicacies like Greek pastries and Gelato. They also have pitas and paninis and custom cakes. Their pricing is very reasonable. It's also clean and welcoming with trendy design work. Several women were there having lunch with friends. I dined alone but was in a cozy chair by the window. I ordered the chicken and mushroom crepe (pictured) which topped with Gruyère cheese and a yummy sauce. It also comes with a green salad with Greek salad dressing. The meal was $10.75. I wanted to-go but once I saw it I ate it there! My lunch was less than $12 and it was made to order. I loved my food! Came here for lunch on a Thursday. I got the gyro sandwich and it was pretty good. My husband got the same. The food was decent. It was a bit pricey though. And when we asked for waters we were given bottled waters which we were charged for instead of just a basic cup of water. The atmosphere was a bit awkward as there was no music playing. read more
