Since I got to pick this month, I picked Cafe Petra and am glad I did! My wife and I were the first to arrive and when we told them we would be eating with 7 others from our club they quickly pulled some tables together. Our young server was very good, she took drink orders and delivered them to the right customers very quickly. After a bit of socializing we placed our orders and it wasn't very long and food was coming to our table. I had the Chicken Shawarma and Gyro Combo plate and it was a huge serving that also started with a nice salad. Others in our group had gyro sandwiches, salads and even baclava. My wife loved the French fries that are so crisp. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with Mediterranean decor, there is a big screen at one end with scenes from Greece and other parts of the region. As I said, service was very good and the servings were large enough that several of our group took home to-go boxes. We will go back in the future.

The waitress was attentive and came by regularly to check on us. They keep the place clean. I tried the chicken kebab that comes with a side salad, hummus, some rice and chicken with onions and slice of green pepper. The chicken was juicy. I also got to try the gyro sandwich and fries. Both were good. I loved the fries, they had a little crunch to them. The guava juice was good, it was nice to have something different.

A few weeks ago, my family went to CAVA for the second time, and we absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, our experience last night was completely different. We placed an online order, and my high school son picked it up. When I looked at the bag, I noticed that the sauces had spilled because the lids were not closed properly. The sauces were all over the napkins, utensils, and pita bread. I was willing to overlook that as an honest mistake. However, when I looked at the actual food, the portions were significantly smaller than what we had received during our previous visits. I thought perhaps online orders received different portions, so again, I was willing to let it go. Then I noticed that the pita chips were missing, despite being part of the order. I had also requested extra pickled onions, but there were barely any. At that point, I decided to go back to the restaurant to have the order corrected. What should have been a simple situation turned into another 30 minutes of driving back and forth and waiting for the food to be remade. What was most disappointing, however, was the customer service. The employees appeared frustrated and annoyed that we had returned and needed the order corrected. Rather than feeling like they wanted to help resolve the issue, we felt like we were inconveniencing them. We were also left waiting while employees helped other customers who had gotten in line behind us. Mistakes happen. I completely understand that. Food gets left out of orders, lids don't always get closed properly, and things can be missed during a busy shift. What matters is how you treat the customer when a mistake happens. In my experience, when a restaurant makes a mistake, the staff typically apologizes, fixes the issue, and makes the customer feel valued. Unfortunately, that was not our experience last night. After being so impressed with our first two visits, this was honestly one of the worst customer-service experiences we've had at a restaurant. I hope management sees this and uses it as an opportunity to address what happened and ensure customers are treated with kindness and respect when something goes wrong. We really enjoyed CAVA and were excited to become regular customers. It's disappointing that one experience can change that so quickly.

I finally visited this Greek/Mediterranean/Persian restaurant on a Sunday for lunch to see why it's…read morerated so high. Inside is elegant and well decorated with glass tables and large rugs everywhere. Looking at the menu, it's a mix of various cuisines, but they do separate out the Persian dishes which are somewhat similar to Mediterranean ones just cost a little more and have different spices altogether. If you visit on weekend nights, you'll likely get to see belly dancing here. I settled on the chicken shawarma wrap, even though it costs a few dollars more than the chicken pita. It does come with one side for $21,and I chose French fries. It tasted pretty good, but you do have to get used to the pickles which gives the wrap an overall weird taste. These are not your typical pickles which go well with American fried chicken sandwiches. A Mexican tortilla is used as a wrap here instead of the bread they use for wraps in other Mediterranean restaurants in Houston. If I wanted a chicken burrito, i would have dined at a Mexican restaurant. The fries are previously frozen ones and lightly seasoned and really only decent when hot. Unfortunately this is one of those restaurants which takes care of newly seated guests and large parties but ignores the tables of 1. Not my fault I only have one in my party. They seated me in the corner and another gentleman came about 20 mins after me and I never saw a waitress go to his table after being served his entree either. The chef or kitchen hand is the one who brings out the entree from the kitchen here and my waitress never showed up until they try to take your plate away. However, I was still eating and also waiting for 10 mins on a refill. I can only eat so much before needing to take a sip of a liquid...but if you come with a party of one here..you will likely be waiting awhile. The lady taking my plate wasn't even my waitress either. Meanwhile, for the gentleman sitting outside alone, I observed his drink to be empty a while and they weren't refilling his either. He finally leaves and goes to a cash register to pay. What? A semi-fine dining elegant spot with mandolin playing in the background has a cash register where you have to go up to pay? What is this world coming to? With these prices, they should roll out red carpet from the front door to your table each time you walk in....and surely make the waitress do something for once and take your card and swipe it herself at the cash register which shouldn't be in the middle of the damn room. Sort of defeats the purpose of being elegant. Did I mention the glasses are plastic here too. If they want to be refined, try at least using glasses for drinks.

A plate with the meats and the other with veggies n dip n salad. The place is pretty spacious from inside. They have nice soothing music playing inside. Every so many minutes, the workers come around to Collect the dirty plates and clean the tables. Thanks again.
