Iced vanilla shaken espresso with almond milk!
    Elizabeth S.

Been wanting to try more coffee shops out of my normal and this one was next on my list! It is a big location next to what looks like a gym. The inside was nice and spacious with lots of chairs and tables to sit and work on. The decor was minimalist and clean. I got an iced shaken espresso with vanilla syrup which was delicious. The barista shook it well and it was way better than any I've gotten at Starbucks. It was not overly sweet. The baristas were friendly and patient with me as I explored the menu. They do have some food options that looked good but I did not try any. I did go in the afternoon and looks like they did not have many left so they must be good! Lots of parking too. Definitely a great place to check out with solid drinks, seating, and friendly staff.

Our foster is in the process of heart worm treatment, meaning he has two consecutive days of clinic shots which created the perfect excuse to work from a local coffee shop. As soon as I saw Brazilian pastries, cheese bread and acai, I was sold, and as soon as I walked in I felt I'd made the right choice. In addition to a sleek, modern cafe, this cafe offers some beautiful brews. My lavender Cortado was delicious, the warmed cheese bread hit the spot, and the turkey and cheese- well, that one wasn't for me, but everything else was great. I'll certainly keep this deep cut in mind when I'm on this side of town.

    Dirty Earl and crazy pineapple

Stopped by caffe and trein with my brother on the way back to Dallas. This is a Brazilian coffee shop in north Houston. I got the dirty Earl and he got the crazy pineapple. The dirty Earl includes lavender cold foam, and honestly I taste the lavender more than the Earl grey. I really liked the drink with the first few sips but later it had this weird aftertaste. The crazy pineapple is a matcha concentrate with coconut water and a pineapple cold foam. Honestly the pineapple flavor wasn't that bad but I'm not used to a tangy matcha. The matcha is also poor quality as it clumped up and had a powdery flavor. With these drinks already costing $9 before tax, I don't think I will be back

Stopped by on a Saturday morning and it was decently busy. I got a dirty earl and it was not as sweet as I expected it to be which I didn't mind. I'm thinking there's no sweetener in there so the only sweetness comes from the cold foam on top. The drink was about $9 which I fear is a little crazy, so I don't think I'd be coming back, but I do appreciate a unique coffee shop option in the Houston area

This new Brazilian style coffee shop is a great addition to the Garden Oaks/Oak forest area. I visited for a afternoon pick-me-up and was surprised that the place was mostly filled with people working on their laptops. The ambiance was pretty chill and overall pretty quiet. Pros: Quiet place if you need a spot to work, coffee is imported from Brazil which adds a different touch to your typical stuff, Brazilian type pastries including Pão de queijo which is hard to find, service was great and employees are friendly, good amount of parking, coffee in real cups with latte art was a big plus Cons: basic traditional syrups and no seasonal flavors (when I visited), too quiet if you're looking to do brunch and chit chat with friends, no outdoor patio, pastries were not fully stocked (possibly because it's still pretty new) I would definitely visit again soon since it's in the neighborhood. They barely had enough for 1 small order of pão de queijo and substituted 1 piece for a similar bread, just larger in size. Both were good, although I was kinda surprised that the bread just kinda sits out in a glass display til it is ordered. They don't exactly warm it up as it's ordered. Hopefully when I return they'll be better stocked so I can try some brigadeiros.

One of the best places to study and work along with their tasty food and drinks! Their pineapple matcha was so so good! I would hands down get that again! Their cheese balls were super good too! Friendly service, fast WIFI, clean spot, I'd highly recommend and come back!

Vanessa and Julietta were the sweetest brewistas I've ever met. They were so sweet and inviting from the moment I walked in. I came for the dirty earl latte. So good! Clean and calming little cafe. Def will be back.

Great new place to chill, meet up and chat. Friendly people and top notch h service. We went in the morning and there was plenty of seating and free safe parking. We loved our coffee and tea selections. My croissant had some of the best cheese ever.

The service, coffee and ambience were great even parking was easy. Located in a new strip centre . , which has green space, we'll visit again . The only thing missing vegan snacks

Super cute place and I know this is just for the cafe, but the whole facility as a whole seems so nice! This matcha w pineapple cold foam was so good! The space was really nice and bright. There were some ppl studying, but I feel like maybe it's better suited for like casual convos w friends just cause of the space and tables. You can def study here tho! And they have outlets near the wall. The service was ok, the baristas were nice for the most part, but when we first came in I was a little thrown off bc we didn't seem like welcomed by whoever was taking our orders at first. The drink prices are a little steeper than other places, but I think in the same realm as some other newer places.

Dirty Earl, Lavender Latte, Crazy Pineapple Matcha

This is a bit of a hidden gem in Acre Homes! It's a bit out of the way for most people, but I think it's well worth the drive. The shop itself is very minimalistic, but I like that. Lots of seating for people to get work done. HUGE parking lot. This would've been a prime studying location for me back in the day. They even have those automatic water fountains which I think is a very nice touch. I like the theme of their menu. Lots of Brazilian inspired drinks. Many unique options that I've never seen before. They even have some light bites. I tried a lavender latte just so I could taste their espresso. It was very smooth and blended well with the lavender. I also tried my friends' drinks. The dirty earl was amazing. Very beautiful drink with the blue foam on top. You could really taste the earl grey notes despite it being an iced drink with milk. I would get this again for sure. The crazy pineapple was also a pleasant surprise. I would've never thought to combine pineapple and matcha but it surprisingly works. It's light and refreshing! Overall very solid drinks here and strong concept, I wish I lived closer because I'd come here all the time!

Caffe Trein is always a great vibe with a sweet staff. It's clean and welcoming to all of the community--unlike other coffee shops we have visited, where you walk in and instantly feel rushed and uncomfortable, and when you look around, it's all the same type of people. Their matchas are my favorite, especially with the cold foam. I add my preferred flavorings, but the matcha açaí affogato is something you won't find anywhere else in Houston--and it's my other fave. My son loves their cheese bread (which is gluten-free), açaí, and croissants (so do I). We visit weekly and highly recommend it!

I genuinely wanted to love this coffee shop since it's constantly popping up on my social media, but unfortunately it just didn't meet expectations! The staff was friendly, and the space itself was very clean with a calm, zen vibe;definitely a nice atmosphere to sit in. However, the drinks fell short. The shaken espresso tasted more like a latte due to the amount of milk, and while the matcha itself seemed high quality, the honey matcha didn't taste like honey at all even after we asked for additional syrup. We also ordered acai bowls, which were the biggest disappointment. They arrived half full, sloppily presented, and the granola was served in a very small container on the side. For $12, especially when limited to only two toppings, you'd expect a full bowl in comparison to other actual acai spots. Instead, it felt underwhelming and not worth the price. I'm glad I was able to try it and check it off my list, but unfortunately I won't be returning.

Crazy Pineapple (matcha with coconut water and pineapple cold foam) and Pão de queijo!

They also have a spacious parking lot, which was convenient. Since I had my dog with me, I stepped inside briefly to confirm that the patio was open before settling in. I greeted the young woman at the counter and asked if patio seating was available. She responded, "Yes, because dogs are not allowed inside." That felt unnecessary. I was clearly asking about the patio for that exact reason. I was not attempting to sit indoors, and I understand health regulations. She then added that the Houston Health Department could walk in at any moment. Again, I was not trying to dine inside. I simply wanted to confirm patio access so I could enjoy a coffee outside. I asked if someone would be outside to take my order. She said no. So I asked if she could take my order right then so I could immediately head out to the patio. She agreed, but her tone and demeanor felt dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. If the patio is dog friendly, there should be a smoother process for solo customers with pets. A simple, "Yes, the patio is open. Let me take your order now so you can head outside," would have made this quick and easy. Advisory: If you are visiting with a dog, I would recommend bringing another person with you. If you are alone, the ordering process may be awkward, as you cannot remain inside with your dog while placing your order. I would have happily spent money here, but the service made the visit feel more procedural than welcoming.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

And the grab-n-go area has their overnight oats, chia puddings, plus bottled drinks. Prices aren't listed but there's a menu with prices + other items like sandwiches, bowls, and salads. The menu is expansive-- don't forget the coffee and drinks too! For the pastries, the croissants are always beautiful but the texture isn't what I'd call a typical croissant. I've tried the croissant swirls (circle croissants) and more traditional versions, and they have more of that soft bready texture of a grocery store croissant. Maybe reheating it at home makes it flakier? The cookie croissant is my favorite croissant even though I wouldn't consider it a true croissant based on texture alone (more of a soft buttery bread with cookie dough!). The cookies are big and thick but definitely on the softer side without much chew. I do love their cake jars-- the moist layers matched with a whipped frosting make an extra delicious treat! The overnight oats and chia puddings are extra tasty as well (more of a dessert :P) It's definitely busy-- besides for the dining experience, people come here to study, work, and hangout. There's a drive through but not sure how efficient that is, so try ordering through their website instead. There's also a loyalty program! I'd visit more often if I lived in the area-- their Herman Park location had a limited menu and isn't as big or nice, but it'll do until I come back :P Swing by to check them out for some good eats and trendy seats :)
