Was not greeted, just ignored. After looking at their menu and deciding, walked to the register which at that point we were told they have no expresso, only black coffee. They close at 5 but pretty much had packed up to close way before that.

Size comparison to help explain the smallness.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I pass it every week on my way to Pilates and always think about stopping, but by the time I remember, I'm already out of the parking garage. Today I finally made it in, and I was genuinely excited after reading all the Yelp reviews. It's a pretty small space. They do have parking, but spots are limited. I walked in and ordered an iced latte. Whenever I try a new coffee shop, I usually order a vanilla latte , it's my unofficial benchmark for comparing places. They don't offer sweeteners here, so I went without. That's totally fine, not every place does, but the way it was communicated felt dismissive. The person behind the counter wasn't exactly friendly and almost seemed to scoff at the request. My latte was $7, which I've come to accept as the going rate these days. I wasn't asked what size I wanted, so I assumed there was just one option. When my drink came out, it was SO tiny. All that for $7... and served with attitude? Goodness. I respect coffee culture, I really do, but this felt less "craft" and more pretentious. Unfortunately, they're doing it wrong.

Tiny coffee shop in the heights which specializes in various coffees from around the world. I am not sure how they decide on which coffee blend they are going to use to brew your beverage with but the day we went they were really in the weeds. There was only one person manning the shop. He was out of cups and saucers to serve for in house so everything was being served in to go containers. They have their pastries from Magnol so if you're a fan you must get those before they are gone! I wanted to get the opera cake but unfortunately it was super busy in there and I didn't want to take it to go. As the coffee shop is kind of small there were no empty seats when we arrived. In fact the parking lot is also very small so you will have to either get lucky to find parking or you can just park on the street nearby. Make sure to read the signs to avoid getting towed. As far as my latte goes I really liked it. The inside is very modern with large windows and lots of natural light. I would like to come back and try the other things. They are my type of coffee shop where they don't add any sweeteners and you actually get to enjoy the full flavor profile of the coffee.

I have been wanting to try this spot out for awhile! Very cute, modern and small inside. Parking is minimal, but I did park by the Club Pilates area. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. My friend ordered a latte hot, and we also got a nice little treat. Service was great and fast. Definitely a spot to come catch up with friends or even work.

I found this spot on Yelp and was intrigued by some reviews that had mentioned getting authentic matcha from this cafe. I've been on an adventure to try matcha from as many spots in Houston as possible, so I decided to give this place a try. I tried visiting a couple of times, but it was never open when I wanted to check it out. I eventually ended up in the area and decided to stop by. There is some parking available adjacent and behind the building. My first impression of the space was that it was narrow but well lit, with lots of natural light. When ordering, I double checked the menu and noticed that "matcha" doesn't stand out on the menu; coffee's definitely the primary focus. There were two matcha types listed, and I ordered an Iced Uji Matcha. When my drink was handed to me, I noticed how small it was. I hadn't asked about the size when ordering, and assumed it would be a standard 12oz drink. Given that I paid $10.20, I was extremely disappointed at how small my drink was. While the matcha tasted authentic, the color was very light and the flavor was quite mild. I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone specifically looking for matcha. Even with authentic powder being used, it's hard to justify that price for such a small iced matcha. There's other places in Houston that offer authentic matcha at a much better value per cup. Also, the matcha at this location comes with an espresso shot, which I opted out of. I took pictures of my matcha, it looks different in each picture because of the lighting but it's the same cup of matcha in each.

This specialty coffee shop has been on my list for two years and I was finally able to come in while in the area during a weekend. They have a small parking lot but I went around the end of their weekend hours and got a spot quickly. I ordered the Panama Kotowa Estate "Kool Reserva" pourover as a 9 oz and if you like third wave coffee, you'll love this (or frankly any of their pourovers). They have a small sign near their menu that says they don't offer additives to their coffees (i.e., no milks and syrups) and I completely understand why.

Iced mocha - 7/10 - Coffee was strong, mocha was very bitter for me but would be good for a strong coffee drinker Hot latte - 8/10 - For a regular latte with no flavor, the espresso quality was great, could taste the notes of dark chocolate This coffee shop is a specialty coffee shop offering different origins of coffee for strong coffee drinkers. They dont carry flavored syrups and focus more on the actual flavor and notes of espresso . Would recommend this to those who prefer stronger coffee.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by for a quick coffee. Honoring the name, a simple cup of real coffee with none of the frills and dressing up or disguising the actual flavor that I crave in an authentic cup of coffee. From the 1st sip to the after taste, the owners truly understand what they are offering. Thank you again!

Cappuccino - very good, and croissant (from Magnol)
    A G.

A cozy coffee shop with a warm vibe and a clear focus on coffee. Nick, the owner, takes pride in the place and takes time to explain the menu. The cappuccino was excellent--smooth with no bitterness. The croissants come from Magnol, another favorite of mine (though they've been doing a bit of shrinkflation lately). Parking is a bit tricky since the lot is small.

I came here to study with a friend for finals and I love the vibe here! Very cute interior and there is plenty of seating with outlets which I love. The staff were very nice as well. I already had coffee in the morning but I got a croissant and omg it was the best croissant i've had in a while!! It was super warm, flaky, buttery, and had so many layers. I am still thinking about that croissant as I am typing this. Their other pastries looked super good as well!! My friend got an Iced Matcha Latte with Uji. She said that it was good but might try another drink instead next time! We were able to study here for a few hours and the internet is very fast! I hope to come back the next time I need to get some studying done, get a drink, and get another one of their croissants! Definitely recommend coming here for your next coffee fix (:

The service/staff is very nice and friendly here. Their menu is simple and straight forward and it lives up to the name of simply coffie as they do not carry any adders/syrups to their coffee. If you come here expecting a a typical sweetened latte, you'll be let down so come with the expectation of just plain and simple high quality coffee. It is a little on the pricier side for the volume of beverage you receive and the parking lot is pretty small. You can enjoy your coffee in table ware at the shop or Togo in these cute mini cups. I probably would not return because it's just not my type of coffee!

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

I believe the first time I came here. I had some breakfast tacos and an iced latte which I did really enjoy. Today I went, and I had a chorizo empanada, a Horchata doughnut, and the Neapolitan latte. The empanada was nice and hot, I do wish it was a little more flavorful but next time I'll probably just add some hot sauce or something. The inside looks really cozy however I didn't stay and eat there since I had my pets in the car. The Horchata doughnut was interesting, was not what I was expecting, but didn't hate it. The Neapolitan latte taste like dessert, was definitely on the sweeter side which the cashier had warned me of. But overall, I really enjoyed it. I do love that they use Bendy straws, it's one of the only coffee shops I've been to that has consistently used them lol.

The best black sesame latte in Houston…read more I'm always looking for black sesame flavored drinks ever since I tried it in Seattle, so I was excited that TwoTone had it. The nuttiness of the sesame goes SOOO well with the espresso taste and it's a good creaminess too. I also like the texture of the bits of sesame seeds in the drink. The aesthetic of the cafe is modern with street-style flairs, it's a really cool space. I also love that there are Filipino flavors on the menu like ube and pandan. Most workers are super nice and say your name like they know you. They're also super attentive to ensure that everything with your order is perfect. Jonah was very welcoming and helpful, making sure we got a menu while in line! The weekdays seem to be better for wait-time, with little to no wait. The weekends however are packed and usually have lines. If you're not a line person, I would definitely come on a weekday. TwoTone is probably the best specialty coffee you can get in Houston, especially in terms of Asian flavors and creaminess. If it was closer to inner Houston, I would probably come here everyday.

It's off the feeder road of I-10 and in an inconspicuous place. It's a retail space and at first glance it looks empty and kind of shady granted, I was there around 7 AM. It may be busier and more lively later in the day or on weekends. In any case I pulled up and I saw their sign, but I was kind of concerned that it was closed because you couldn't see through the windows and again the parking lot just looked empty . I went to the door and went in. It's a very minimalist space and the decor of cold concrete floors matched the attitude and personalities of the people working that day. I was never graded, and there were a couple people sitting, waiting for coffees... There was no menu to be seen at first glance but I have a very simple order that I had in my mind because I like espresso and not sweet sugary drinks. I walked up to the register and there was a young girl who just looked at me like I was bothering her her by being in front of her. She never smiled, and she just waited for me to order. I told her good morning and she replied "Morning"...barely opened her mouth, not welcoming (or sincerity) and no smile. My order was simple.: three shots of espresso, 2 ounces of half-and-half and caramel drizzle mixed in the espresso. She looked at me weird and said ...so you want a latte? I said no not at all because I only want 2 ounces of half-and-half. I don't want all the milk of a latte. She didn't look down at the computer and kind of looked behind at a barista, and then looked back at the computer and said we do our shots in doubles .... Meaning she wouldn't give me only three shots I had to buy four. I thought that was interesting since other local shops indulge me without an issue, but I agreed to four shots. She asked me if that was it and I said yes..... I was very surprised but paid over $10 for my order of one drink! I paid because honestly, I was already ready to get out. I paid and I waited about 15 minutes for my coffee, even though there was only one person waiting for their coffee before me. I got my drink and left before tasting it. It was awful. The pull was not done well and the coffee tasted almost sour. Ugh. I was so disappointed. The very next day, my coworker said give it another try maybe it was just an off day . She also said she'd buy my coffee to make up for it so I couldn't turn that down This time I went a little bit later there was about three people in line before me. They had a lot more staff working probably about five people in total versus three the previous day. There was a different girl to front who took my order and was the total opposite of the lady the day before; bright eyed, kind and very welcoming. My coffee was still over $10 and this time it took me 35 minutes to get my coffee. I don't know if they had DoorDash orders or what, but I couldn't understand why there was a lot more workers and it took double the time to get my coffee. Once I got my coffee, it did taste better than my first visit, but still had a little bit of sour taste... Not as much as before though. Even if it ended up tasting better, I could not validate paying $10 for my coffee and waiting up to 35 minutes for it.. Especially when I can go to any of my other local coffee shops that I normally frequent for a less than $5 coffee (that only has three shots that I want) and the great service and flavor is always consistent. I never want to see any business fail. So I hope that the owners will discuss the importance of consistency in making their product, as well as being hospitable. There are so many coffee shops in Houston that one could choose from.

My beloved Boomtown RIP…read more This pains me to write. Different is certainly not always better, especially when what you had was already working. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.
