I was wrong. I must admit it. They make a superior, simple cup of coffee. My first interaction and experience was not great, due largely in part to the barista acting haughty. However, since then I've been back and had a much better experience with barista's and though they do no syrups or anything, but it's lovely regardless and that's a part of it. A good cup of coffee doesn't need all that (though sometimes if that's what I'm craving I'll go elsewhere).
Was not greeted, just ignored. After looking at their menu and deciding, walked to the register which at that point we were told they have no expresso, only black coffee. They close at 5 but pretty much had packed up to close way before that.

They have their pastries from Magnol so if you're a fan you must get those before they are gone! I wanted to get the opera cake but unfortunately it was super busy in there and I didn't want to take it to go. As the coffee shop is kind of small there were no empty seats when we arrived. In fact the parking lot is also very small so you will have to either get lucky to find parking or you can just park on the street nearby. Make sure to read the signs to avoid getting towed. As far as my latte goes I really liked it. The inside is very modern with large windows and lots of natural light. I would like to come back and try the other things. They are my type of coffee shop where they don't add any sweeteners and you actually get to enjoy the full flavor profile of the coffee.
I have been wanting to try this spot out for awhile! Very cute, modern and small inside. Parking is minimal, but I did park by the Club Pilates area. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. My friend ordered a latte hot, and we also got a nice little treat. Service was great and fast. Definitely a spot to come catch up with friends or even work.
I found this spot on Yelp and was intrigued by some reviews that had mentioned getting authentic matcha from this cafe. I've been on an adventure to try matcha from as many spots in Houston as possible, so I decided to give this place a try. I tried visiting a couple of times, but it was never open when I wanted to check it out. I eventually ended up in the area and decided to stop by. There is some parking available adjacent and behind the building. My first impression of the space was that it was narrow but well lit, with lots of natural light. When ordering, I double checked the menu and noticed that "matcha" doesn't stand out on the menu; coffee's definitely the primary focus. There were two matcha types listed, and I ordered an Iced Uji Matcha. When my drink was handed to me, I noticed how small it was. I hadn't asked about the size when ordering, and assumed it would be a standard 12oz drink. Given that I paid $10.20, I was extremely disappointed at how small my drink was. While the matcha tasted authentic, the color was very light and the flavor was quite mild. I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone specifically looking for matcha. Even with authentic powder being used, it's hard to justify that price for such a small iced matcha. There's other places in Houston that offer authentic matcha at a much better value per cup. Also, the matcha at this location comes with an espresso shot, which I opted out of. I took pictures of my matcha, it looks different in each picture because of the lighting but it's the same cup of matcha in each.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by for a quick coffee. Honoring the name, a simple cup of real coffee with none of the frills and dressing up or disguising the actual flavor that I crave in an authentic cup of coffee. From the 1st sip to the after taste, the owners truly understand what they are offering. Thank you again!
Iced mocha - 7/10 - Coffee was strong, mocha was very bitter for me but would be good for a strong coffee drinker Hot latte - 8/10 - For a regular latte with no flavor, the espresso quality was great, could taste the notes of dark chocolate This coffee shop is a specialty coffee shop offering different origins of coffee for strong coffee drinkers. They dont carry flavored syrups and focus more on the actual flavor and notes of espresso . Would recommend this to those who prefer stronger coffee.

The croissants come from Magnol, another favorite of mine (though they've been doing a bit of shrinkflation lately). Parking is a bit tricky since the lot is small.
I came here to study with a friend for finals and I love the vibe here! Very cute interior and there is plenty of seating with outlets which I love. The staff were very nice as well. I already had coffee in the morning but I got a croissant and omg it was the best croissant i've had in a while!! It was super warm, flaky, buttery, and had so many layers. I am still thinking about that croissant as I am typing this. Their other pastries looked super good as well!! My friend got an Iced Matcha Latte with Uji. She said that it was good but might try another drink instead next time! We were able to study here for a few hours and the internet is very fast! I hope to come back the next time I need to get some studying done, get a drink, and get another one of their croissants! Definitely recommend coming here for your next coffee fix (:
The service/staff is very nice and friendly here. Their menu is simple and straight forward and it lives up to the name of simply coffie as they do not carry any adders/syrups to their coffee. If you come here expecting a a typical sweetened latte, you'll be let down so come with the expectation of just plain and simple high quality coffee. It is a little on the pricier side for the volume of beverage you receive and the parking lot is pretty small. You can enjoy your coffee in table ware at the shop or Togo in these cute mini cups. I probably would not return because it's just not my type of coffee!

Stopped by to work for a bit and was super excited to their pastries as I have seen photos but they had just run out! I will be back to try their pastries. Coffee was lovely! They have a list of specialty coffee. Space is small but clean and quiet, I was able to focus. Service was friendly. They are open everyday 8am-5pm closed Wednesday's. read more

Paid almost $10 for 2 sips of liquid. Shouldn't have ever come here. Coffee snob territory. Dont come here if you want to have fun and a normal cafe experience. Felt like I was being judged and intruding. Very pretentious and uncomfortable. I feel like this is a scam of a business. read more
Simply Coffee is simply the best (pourover) coffee. This Asian owned, modern coffee shop in the Heights is beautiful with lots of natural lighting. The only downside to coming here is their very small parking lot, but if you're lucky enough to get a spot, it is very much worth coming here. What sets them apart is their attention to detail. You can tell they are very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve, and they make it to the absolute best of their ability. Just note that Simply Coffie is named that for a reason. Don't come here expecting your sweet syrups and flavorings that you would get at other coffee shops. Here they focus on the simple quality of the perfectly roasted beans. The most you'll get here is some oat milk or milk foam on your latte. My favorite so far was the Las Lajas cappuccino with oat milk, it was a perfect cup of coffee. Whether you're coming here to study, get some work done, or catch up with a friend, Simply Coffie really does serve some of the best coffee in Houston. Just don't forget to try their wonderful pastries as well, enjoy! read more

The menu at Simply Coffie is just that--simple, but delightful. They truly know coffee here, and it shows in every sip. Their milk-based drinks are made with the perfect proportions, allowing the quality of the beans to shine. I stopped by for an afternoon pick-me-up and enjoyed a hot mocha, while my co-worker went for an iced latte--both were expertly crafted and absolutely satisfying. If you're a coffee enthusiast, they also offer a great selection of Single Origin Black coffee options that are worth exploring. If you appreciate great coffee, expertly made in a cozy setting, Simply Coffie is a must-visit! read more
Stopped by this place because I needed to finish up some work and coffee is always comforting. Simply Coffie is small but for offer plenty of seating for me to choose from today. Staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They know coffee!!! And guided me on the menu. Today I ordered a cortado with whole milk. It was a great way to really taste the flavor of the coffee but with a creamy touch. I recommend you to add this location to your coffee shop visit. read more
Yay for another coffee place in town! It's located in the Greater Heights (24th St). It is a splendid spot on its own. Some architectural design, really. The inside reflects the same. Modern, yet minimalist. It is also Taiwanese owned, which adds on a unique character. I was a bit confused on what to order. The wall displays some by not the type of coffees they serve. Now browsing around, I noticed only now they did have a menu, but I wasn't offered to review it. I asked for my usual cappuccino, but this time I remember its really smooth taste from a precise and full of attention pour. I watched the owner really showing care for what he does and somehow, that adds a different feel for it. Even the cups are different. Water is from a purified machine and I enjoyed it. On a weekday afternoon, seating was limited. I took the high chair in the corner facing the street, and I'm satisfied to be able to car/traffic watch for a change. Parking is very limited. Their space only offered no more than 8 or 10 I believe, so gotta rely on street parking too. In the back, they display various coffee making tools and beans in a soft lighting. I want my living room to be like theirs, lol. They seem to have a 2nd floor too but I'm not sure whether it's private or not. The design overall is intriguing. I also missed out on the snacks they provide. I guess this will be my motive to visit this place again! read more

This coffee shop is so cute! Drinks are as-is which I preferred. Staff was helpful on selecting drinks and ordering was smooth and quick. Once order was completed, they bring the drink to your table if you're sitting down. I got the oolong cappuccino since it seemed very unique and was not disappointed. Drink tasted very clean, not too sweet and not too bitter. Will def come back! Seating can get a bit busy. read more

Simply Coffie is a new coffee shop in the Heights! They opened 8 months ago and are Asian owned. The interior is very modern and aesthetically beautiful. There's plenty of comfortable seating with lots of plugs. It was not too crowded on a Friday afternoon so it would be a good place to go and get some work done. There is also a small parking lot behind the building. They seem to be a fancier coffee shop as they do not offer decaf or extra sweetener/syrup options. I got an iced latte and it really did not need extra sweetener! The coffee was very smooth. Overall, I could see myself coming back here often. The coffee, service, and ambiance is excellent. read more
We were in the area so dropped by. As of November 22nd, 24th Street, where the entrance is located, is currently under construction. It's now one way only and you can only enter from Durham. When you drive in, there's a handful of places you can parallel park and it's one way only where there's maybe 3-4 more non-parallel parking spots before it winds around the 2 story building and empties you back into Durham. Basically: parking can be tight right now, but I imagine that is a regular thing even before construction. I know someone else mentioned street parking, but it's not possible right now with road work. I admit I don't prefer parallel parking, but I guess it's good practice. As soon as you walk in, it's all aesthetics. Place was minimalist and modern in decor but also warm. Conversations in soft tones. Beautiful mugs and these odd straws - transparent tan with specks of something - they're "veggie straws", but not the edible kind! I loved it though. When used, just lightly textured and otherwise feels like plastic - but it's not. I had my 3 year old with me and my friend and we were very out of place. However, the staff didn't seem all that put off or unwelcoming, though their menu is very much not kid friendly. The place in general seemed to scream "don't touch, not meant to be played with." They focus on good coffee (think single origin) and good ingredients. Don't expect any flavored syrups! They have one item on there by the name of "COCOA MILK" ($6). I asked if it was kid friendly and the "no" came quickly. They said there wasn't any artificial sugar and something about using the best cocoa. The fruit was mentioned, so I was expecting milk flavored with the cocoa FRUIT, which I have had before and liked. I got it for my kid anyway. It tasted like really nice, dark chocolate milk. It borders on bittersweet and I enjoyed it. So did my 3 year old. I attribute it to the fact that he likes dark chocolate. The best part - not very sweet! For myself, I got the Matcha Latte ($7.50) made with Uji matcha. I admit I don't know much about matcha - only that I like it - but they are very helpful if you have any questions. They serve 2 types of Matcha and I cannot remember the name of the other but they had mentioned it being bright but Uji was more earthy and traditional, so I picked it. It's a "shot" of matcha with whole milk (or oat milk) and a shot of espresso. I did like it quite a bit. Not too bitter, not sweet. Perfection. I sometimes get a headache with more than one serving of caffeine a day, but had no issues on this day (a Friday, after lunch pick me up). I had a latte that morning. To round it off, I ordered a Basque Cheesecake ($8.50) to share. Yum! It's not as creamy as other Basque cheesecakes I've had, but it was still decadently delicious and the caramelization from the browned-bordering-on-burnt top is quintessential for this type of cheesecake. They also have some bagged coffee and coffee-related items for purchase in the back. Despite the building being 2 stories, I don't believe a second floor is open. Even with the limited parking, almost all the tables were full. Most were there to work but a few, myself included, were there for a break/chat. Coffee purists - FLOCK HERE. If not one, try it once anyway to get a taste of good coffee and delicious pastries. I'd love to return again with my husband, who does love his black coffee. read more

Simply Coffee is another formidable option in the neighborhood. I decided to finally try it out. I was greeted by their very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Being that I tend to gravitate towards African beans, I tried their Ethiopian single origin pour over. Coffee was phenomenal and I can't wait to try their other single origin beans. Hopefully their house drip is a worthy option so that I won't break the bank every time I stop in. read more
This place is such a cute place, very spacious with a lot of plug outlets available for charging devices. The employees were nice and apparently offer variety of desserts during day time (I went late afternoon time, so only basque cheesecake was available). Seatings are comfortable for long period of sitting and great for studying as well (not too loud). The only downside for me was that their single origin coffee were on acidic/sour side for my taste. The Mauritius tea was GREAT, tasted like fancy semi sweet black tea ish. If you are in heights, I recommend this coffee place for a visit. read more
Cute small space that serves delicious coffee and pastries! I think this place serve my favorite latte. You might think "don't all lattes just taste the same - like milk". This one has a aftertaste with a hint of toffee. No syrup. Just perfect brewing technique and quality beans. It was soooooo delicious. They also serve specialty coffee and pour overs for the coffee enthusiasts. I also tried the lemon tart which was the perfect ratio of filling to merengue. It was also as the aesthetically pleasing. It's a bit on the pricier side but overall probably one of the better coffee shops in Houston. read more
Simply Coffie specializes - and I do mean specializes - in their pour over game. I enjoyed every drop of coffee I've had here, including the iced pour over! It is artistic, delicious, and technical. Please be aware that pour overs take time - and it's worth it. But just know that hand-brewed coffee takes at least five minutes if no one else is ahead of you! So get comfy and come off-peak. Parking is available, but scarce, so plan ahead to look around in case their small amount of spaces are full. Some street parking is available across the road. I recommend Simply Coffie if you want a luxury coffee experience and are curious what coffee can really be like. I can't wait to come back. read more

The coffee baristas were very kind and knew exactly what to recommend based on my mood. The shop was small with limited parking but the large open windows brought in such beautiful sunlight that provided a warm atmosphere. Very nice place to study and would overall recommend to anyone in town. read more
