Outside in the parking lot. Latte in the sun
    Zain R.

Tiny coffee shop in the heights which specializes in various coffees from around the world. I am not sure how they decide on which coffee blend they are going to use to brew your beverage with but the day we went they were really in the weeds. There was only one person manning the shop. He was out of cups and saucers to serve for in house so everything was being served in to go containers. They have their pastries from Magnol so if you're a fan you must get those before they are gone! I wanted to get the opera cake but unfortunately it was super busy in there and I didn't want to take it to go. As the coffee shop is kind of small there were no empty seats when we arrived. In fact the parking lot is also very small so you will have to either get lucky to find parking or you can just park on the street nearby. Make sure to read the signs to avoid getting towed. As far as my latte goes I really liked it. The inside is very modern with large windows and lots of natural light. I would like to come back and try the other things. They are my type of coffee shop where they don't add any sweeteners and you actually get to enjoy the full flavor profile of the coffee.

I have been wanting to try this spot out for awhile! Very cute, modern and small inside. Parking is minimal, but I did park by the Club Pilates area. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. My friend ordered a latte hot, and we also got a nice little treat. Service was great and fast. Definitely a spot to come catch up with friends or even work.

This specialty coffee shop has been on my list for two years and I was finally able to come in while in the area during a weekend. They have a small parking lot but I went around the end of their weekend hours and got a spot quickly. I ordered the Panama Kotowa Estate "Kool Reserva" pourover as a 9 oz and if you like third wave coffee, you'll love this (or frankly any of their pourovers). They have a small sign near their menu that says they don't offer additives to their coffees (i.e., no milks and syrups) and I completely understand why.

A rainy day The sky was gray A chilly breeze & whispering trees Open the door & into the space My eyes were instantly graced With an aesthetically pleasing sight Monstera floras & to my nose's delight Aromas of specialty brews await I knew right then, I may have just met my fate Panama Boquette Geisha Honey Its floral notes soared higher than the Kotawa Mountains A perfect hint of sweetness Smooth Lucious Matcha Uji From the first sip to the last, I knew I found peace on earth The sun peeped through the thunderous clouds Its warming rays of light enshrouds As I bid adieu to Simply Coffie Tears start swelling & making my vision a bit glossy I say thank you to the most perfect gift of simplicity For its in the little things in life, that can make us all look at life a bit differently -Sailor out

Iced mocha - 7/10 - Coffee was strong, mocha was very bitter for me but would be good for a strong coffee drinker Hot latte - 8/10 - For a regular latte with no flavor, the espresso quality was great, could taste the notes of dark chocolate This coffee shop is a specialty coffee shop offering different origins of coffee for strong coffee drinkers. They dont carry flavored syrups and focus more on the actual flavor and notes of espresso . Would recommend this to those who prefer stronger coffee.

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by for a quick coffee. Honoring the name, a simple cup of real coffee with none of the frills and dressing up or disguising the actual flavor that I crave in an authentic cup of coffee. From the 1st sip to the after taste, the owners truly understand what they are offering. Thank you again!

Cappuccino - very good, and croissant (from Magnol)

A cozy coffee shop with a warm vibe and a clear focus on coffee. Nick, the owner, takes pride in the place and takes time to explain the menu. The cappuccino was excellent--smooth with no bitterness. The croissants come from Magnol, another favorite of mine (though they've been doing a bit of shrinkflation lately). Parking is a bit tricky since the lot is small.

I came here to study with a friend for finals and I love the vibe here! Very cute interior and there is plenty of seating with outlets which I love. The staff were very nice as well. I already had coffee in the morning but I got a croissant and omg it was the best croissant i've had in a while!! It was super warm, flaky, buttery, and had so many layers. I am still thinking about that croissant as I am typing this. Their other pastries looked super good as well!! My friend got an Iced Matcha Latte with Uji. She said that it was good but might try another drink instead next time! We were able to study here for a few hours and the internet is very fast! I hope to come back the next time I need to get some studying done, get a drink, and get another one of their croissants! Definitely recommend coming here for your next coffee fix (:

The service/staff is very nice and friendly here. Their menu is simple and straight forward and it lives up to the name of simply coffie as they do not carry any adders/syrups to their coffee. If you come here expecting a a typical sweetened latte, you'll be let down so come with the expectation of just plain and simple high quality coffee. It is a little on the pricier side for the volume of beverage you receive and the parking lot is pretty small. You can enjoy your coffee in table ware at the shop or Togo in these cute mini cups. I probably would not return because it's just not my type of coffee!

Paid almost $10 for 2 sips of liquid. Shouldn't have ever come here. Coffee snob territory. Dont come here if you want to have fun and a normal cafe experience. Felt like I was being judged and intruding. Very pretentious and uncomfortable. I feel like this is a scam of a business.

Simply Coffee is simply the best (pourover) coffee. This Asian owned, modern coffee shop in the Heights is beautiful with lots of natural lighting. The only downside to coming here is their very small parking lot, but if you're lucky enough to get a spot, it is very much worth coming here. What sets them apart is their attention to detail. You can tell they are very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve, and they make it to the absolute best of their ability. Just note that Simply Coffie is named that for a reason. Don't come here expecting your sweet syrups and flavorings that you would get at other coffee shops. Here they focus on the simple quality of the perfectly roasted beans. The most you'll get here is some oat milk or milk foam on your latte. My favorite so far was the Las Lajas cappuccino with oat milk, it was a perfect cup of coffee. Whether you're coming here to study, get some work done, or catch up with a friend, Simply Coffie really does serve some of the best coffee in Houston. Just don't forget to try their wonderful pastries as well, enjoy!

The menu at Simply Coffie is just that--simple, but delightful. They truly know coffee here, and it shows in every sip. Their milk-based drinks are made with the perfect proportions, allowing the quality of the beans to shine. I stopped by for an afternoon pick-me-up and enjoyed a hot mocha, while my co-worker went for an iced latte--both were expertly crafted and absolutely satisfying. If you're a coffee enthusiast, they also offer a great selection of Single Origin Black coffee options that are worth exploring. If you appreciate great coffee, expertly made in a cozy setting, Simply Coffie is a must-visit!

They also have a spacious parking lot, which was convenient. Since I had my dog with me, I stepped inside briefly to confirm that the patio was open before settling in. I greeted the young woman at the counter and asked if patio seating was available. She responded, "Yes, because dogs are not allowed inside." That felt unnecessary. I was clearly asking about the patio for that exact reason. I was not attempting to sit indoors, and I understand health regulations. She then added that the Houston Health Department could walk in at any moment. Again, I was not trying to dine inside. I simply wanted to confirm patio access so I could enjoy a coffee outside. I asked if someone would be outside to take my order. She said no. So I asked if she could take my order right then so I could immediately head out to the patio. She agreed, but her tone and demeanor felt dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. If the patio is dog friendly, there should be a smoother process for solo customers with pets. A simple, "Yes, the patio is open. Let me take your order now so you can head outside," would have made this quick and easy. Advisory: If you are visiting with a dog, I would recommend bringing another person with you. If you are alone, the ordering process may be awkward, as you cannot remain inside with your dog while placing your order. I would have happily spent money here, but the service made the visit feel more procedural than welcoming.

Step inside and you'll find a wonderfully mixed crowd: tech people typing furiously, students contemplating existential dread over a flat white, fashion-forward creatives in boots so white they defy known urban physics -- and yes, that includes me. One corner of the room is charmingly not quite tidy, as if the café itself were whispering: "Relax. Real life happens here." Industrial ducts snake overhead, large windows flood the space with natural light, and sociability seems to circulate as freely as the air. Now, the coffee: a revelation. The espresso is concentrated civilization -- exactly as it should be -- and the cappuccino is an elegant balance of foam and depth, not one of those half-liter dairy-fatigue exercises from anonymous multi-national chains-that-shall-not-be-named. The staff? Friendly, knowledgeable, and disarmingly competent -- the sort of people who know precisely why this bean tastes like citrus and chocolate instead of simply shrugging at the universe. In sum: Tenfold isn't just a café; it's a microcosm of a city that thrives on difference. A place where everyone, no matter their background, finds caffeine, community, and a seat at the table. For all of that -- the atmosphere, the humanity, the coffee artistry -- five stars, unequivocally.

The listing for this exact location says "pets welcome," so I felt confident stopping by. However, as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two customers fawning over my dog. Before any staff member greeted me or even acknowledged me as a customer, someone from behind the far counter told me that dogs were not allowed inside. I mentioned that their Google listing says pets are welcome, and the response was that it applies to a different location. That would be fine if it were clear, but the listing I checked had this location's address directly underneath "pets welcome." That is confusing and misleading. What made it more frustrating was the lack of hospitality. There was no greeting, no attempt to clarify kindly, no "We're sorry for the confusion," and no effort to offer a solution like helping me quickly order to go. It felt dismissive. Clear and accurate information matters. If pets are not welcome at this location, the listing should reflect that. I drove out of my way based on that detail, and it ended up being a waste of time and gas. Because of that experience, I chose not to patronize the this location but may try another location one day.

The only real downside for me was the timing and ordering process. Spending close to $10 on one coffee plus waiting that long makes this feel more like an occasional treat rather than an everyday coffee run. I'll admit I may have been a little cranky from the wait, but I do think it's fair feedback. Overall though, my coffee was delicious, and because of that, I would absolutely give them another chance. I much prefer the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. To the people who bought this place, I know your motto is "different is better," but please stop taking that so literally. You do not have to change every aspect of this place to make it different. The best thing about getting your everyday local coffee is seeing the same baristas you've seen over and over again, familiar faces who know you by name. This was one of those places where I'd hate to admit how much money I've spent here, and I did it happily. In just three weeks, our beloved spot, one I would willingly drive out of my way for, has gone so far downhill that I barely recognize it. From the eyesore taco warmer that practically knocks you in the face while you're ordering, replacing a space that once showcased lovely things like fresh flowers and local trinkets, to the disappearance of the wonderful local treats from Sinfull Bakery that kids genuinely enjoyed. At first I thought maybe you were just out, but after three weeks it became clear that expenses were being cut across the board and those items may never come back. And where do I even begin. The new oat milk is terrible. It completely changes the look and taste of the coffee and is immediately noticeable. I won't harp on the change of hours or the change in flavor of your coffee beans, but I feel it must be mentioned because, well, it's noticeable. And now the cleanliness. Spilled taco sauce all over the floor, and when your kid points it out, you know you're in trouble at that point. Dishes piled so high they're overflowing, dirty restrooms. And to be clear, this isn't the staff's fault, there is simply not enough staff to keep up with these things. Never ever in seven years of being a frequent visitor has it been this bad. I also noticed the new coffee packaging, and it's just another reminder that the heart and thoughtfulness that once defined this place are gone. At this rate I half expect robots handing me my latte in a few weeks so you can save a few more bucks. And getting rid of Toast. Even if Toast was an expensive platform to use, it was legitimately so convenient. And dang, if you're going to do away with it, don't replace it with the worst possible ordering system ever, one that doesn't even work. Do you know how many orders I wouldn't have placed if it weren't for Toast? Toast made those orders possible when I didn't have time to wait. Without it, I simply wouldn't have ordered. I understand times are tough for many businesses, but you all were booming. The new online ordering system doesn't work. You may as well do away with it altogether because this one just isn't it. Honestly, I am devastated. You knocked it out of the park in every area, cleanliness, service, food. I never had a single bad item on the menu. The coffee was beyond. When my family moved out of the city a year and a half ago, I still drove 35 minutes one way just to get your food and coffee, over an hour round trip again and again. I don't think you understand how this new direction has driven this place into the ground in a matter of three weeks. Sadly all good things must come to an end.

Boomtown Coffee - I really like this place. The avocado toast with alfalfa is one of my favorites.
