Always a fan of Luce, first time trying out this location. There is no parking lot but street parking was easy to find. I like the open concept and good lighting for studying or hanging out. I decided to try their ice vanilla latte and surprised it took me so long to try it. Coffee flavor is fragrant, not too strong or bitter. The vanilla is just the right amount and not too sweet. Everyone is nice and service is super quick. Will definitely come back to this location, never had a bad experience! read more

I often come here on a work from home day and enjoy a well made latte. Service is order at the counter and grab a coffee once your name is called. They have breakfast items like pastries and breakfast tacos. There is an upstairs and downstairs and it's ALWAYS busy. It's insane. Definitely a nice place for a coffee but not somewhere you can take a teams call. read more

Decided to treat myself to a sampler of their signature coffee drinks today, and it was a fun experience from start to finish. I tried six drinks in total: Island Latte, Mont Blanc, Matcha Latte, Cream Americano, Black Island, and Delight Matcha. I ordered everything hot except the Delight Matcha, which came as an iced slushy and was super refreshing. Each drink had its own personality, but the Island Latte stole the show for me. Made with espresso, coconut milk, and pandan, it had a smooth tropical twist that I could drink every day. The Mont Blanc was rich and earthy, combining charcoal, espresso, and milk. The Matcha Latte kept it classic with just matcha and milk, and the Cream Americano delivered exactly what it promised with a nice balance of bold and sweet. The Black Island had a deeper flavor with a subtle hint of pandan flavor that paired well with the charcoal. Parking is fairly easy, either on the street or in the visitor section of the garage. As someone who takes coffee seriously, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite coffee spots in Houston. Creative drinks, good vibes, and a great place to explore unique flavors. read more

Wanted to study somewhere but didn't know where to go. Ended up going to Luce at their Washington Ave location. They have street parking available right in front. Ordering was easy and my drink came out very fast. I got the island latte which is their signature Pandan coffee drink. It tastes so good, the Pandan mixes very well with the coffee, both pretty balanced. I think this location is more chill so there's less foot traffic at this location, especially since it's anchored in an apartment complex. Luce is a great pick me up coffee spot! Came here randomly while visiting Houston and my boyfriend and I got a hot and iced Montblanc. Both were delicious and not too sweet. Service was great too and drinks came out quick. Ambiance is very standard but still ample seating if you're trying to get some work done. read more

This was my second time having the Black Island Latte from here, and I loved it even more than the first time. The drinks are on the pricier side, but the quality is unmatched. I'm usually super critical and picky when it comes to any kind of drink, but I think Luce Coffee is one of the best places in Houston to be adventurous and try something new. read more

Luce Coffee Roasters on Washington Ave is my go-to spot before any hair appointment, which is about monthly. I always grab something for myself and another treat for my hair dresser friend who appreciates the caffeine pick-me-up. They have unique hot and cold coffee drinks, matcha, teas, and pastries. Almond and or milk is also available. I've purchase the Spanish latte and Monte Blanc (a charcoal-type drink)... Unique, different, Instagramable. Staff is always knowledgeable and goes out of their way to ensure you're selecting the perfect drink! There's limited street parking, but if you pull into the garage (entrance opposite of Washington) there's some free customer parking. read more

I ordered the decaf black island latte, which was a pandan latte with charcoal, & it was really delicious -- not too sweet, but also flavored enough to where I could taste the pandan as well as coffee. This is one of my go tos for a solid cup of joe. Parking on the street is typically available and the visitor parking of the facility on the back side usually has some spots. The staff is knowledgeable and can help you make a selection. They offer all the typical things one would expect in a coffee shop while having some unique and different choices as well! They are always quick with getting your order taken and out to you if you're just dropping in for a to go order. The interior is a bit minimal but there are outlets and tables if you're looking to sit and get some studying or work knocked out while you enjoy your cup. Decided to stop by for a drink on the 3.5 hr drive home, and I'm glad I did! This drink (island latte), recommended by the barista, was DELICIOUS. Pretty coconutty, and the charcoal added a cool aesthetic. Would highly recommend, already excited to try a different drink next time I'm in Houston! read more

This is the second Luce location I've gone to and I absolutely love their drinks and consistent great service. I came here for an afternoon pick me up and the barista recommended the black island latte. It was my first time trying it and I loved it. Definitely some great flavors they have on the menu for coffees and teas, and they also have a few pastries. Service was quick and the baristas are super friendly. They have WiFi to work/study here. There are a decent number of tables and benches inside and a few tables outside as well. The parking can be difficult as it is in this area but there is street parking available. These people get it!!! I typically order a flat white with one shot of espresso, hot, with oat milk, and 5 g of mocha. Perfect every time! With this type of order, you can tell if the coffee was dialed in correctly. It is every time!! The taste is smooth, not sour or burned, which is rare even at Houston's best coffee places. The service is quick, polite, and courteous, but not bothersome or in your face. Love this!! read more

Luce is clean and modern, yet incredibly cozy. The chain is doing a great job maintaining a high-quality standard even as it continues to expand. Their coffee is pretty good, and they have some unique signature drinks. My favorite part is the cups, which are colorful and chic. The baristas were super nice, service was quick and easy. Like most trendy coffee shops, they have some merchandise including high-end coffee equipment for sale. Not many tables but just enough so that you'll likely be able to find a place to sit and relax. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but Luce has me reconsidering my life choices. Their coffee is really good! I high recommend the island latte. My Vietnamese soul is really happy that it has pandan! It adds a subtle sweetness that isn't too overpowering similar to most Asian desserts. Luce is my fiancé's favorite coffee shop in Houston, and he is very picky about his coffee. The beans work really well for his home brews. Service was quick and courteous. If I lived in Houston, I would be coming back here regularly. read more

I very much enjoyed this place. Luce Coffee Roasters serves up great coffee and tasty breakfast tacos. The interior space brings in plenty of outside sunlight and the seating is super comfortable. The shop off Washington is easy to access with plenty of nearby parking. Five stars for great service and coffee. read more

Walked here from our house this morning. It's close so we have a couple times. There was a girl training which I understand. However the folks with experience poured my husbands coffee which was a good inch or so down on a small cup. When I said it was a bit low they just looked at me. Didn't offer to fill it more. I had the peach iced tea which wasn't bad. Not really worth the cost. Nor was the rest of it. As I looked at the receipt we paid 4.50 for the breakfast tacos from tacos agogo. I get a dollar more than their menu isn't much but not worth then convenience of the coffee shop. Also if you dare enjoy your food outside you'll either be forced to bring it back in inside which is around the building from the seating or take it with you. Overall wouldn't recommend this spot. read more

I didn't have an obsession with Luce Ave until the Washington Heights location opened up. All of their coffee drinks are pretty solid. However, my all time favorite is the iced Black Island, which contains charcoal powder, pandan, espresso shots, coconut milk, and half and half. It's pricy at $6 for an iced 16 oz drink, but it's worth it. The overall flavor is the most amazing thing I've ever had in my entire life. If you want to save 50 cents, the Island Latte is the same thing, but without charcoal. Pros: -Unique coffee drinks, including their black series -Brightly lit room, good area to study or work at off times Cons: -Street parking only -Can get loud with many people -Not as much seating as the other Heights location read more

It's a really nice shop located on Washington. Not as busy as most other shops, so service was quick. I had what may be my new favorite drink called the cream americano... so delicious! And a croissant version of a kolache basically... the place was very clean and decorated in renovated storage area kinda way. They had some neat coffee paraphernalia. Decided to try the island latte based on other reviews and I was wowed. Have never tried a latte like this before but it was SO GOOD! Coconut milk and pandan flavored-- unique coffee combo for sure but it works so well. Love all the natural lighting in this shop as well and lots of small tables. I would rate 5 star a 100 times. I love luce ave! This is their 3rd location in houston so far. My husband always get pandan latte/ iced island latte. I'm not a hater, but I would prefer this over Starbucks literally any day. Local shop, roasted beans come in weekly. Luce on the heights location has classes, coffee classes, where you can taste notes, and identify coffee tasting cold/ or hot and similarly to wine tasting but for coffee. On the corner of Washington and Brashear, it's a welcome coffee place in the bottom of a residential building. There's four outdoor tables and ample indoor seating, with a walk of merch. Plenty of pastries, and my oat cappuccino was good, the froth was very smooth, beans medium. It was $11 with tip for a oat cap and sausage croissant. Recommended if you are needing some Java. Empty on a 0800 Thursday morning except for the two workers, so easy to get work done or space out. read more

Info: street parking, located on ground floor of apartment building, prime location on Washington ave. Seating available inside and outside. I am not a huge coffee person, but this place is fantastic and can certainly help sway you into becoming one! I got the iced vanilla latte and my goodness. This was knock your socks off good! I highly recommend running in here! The employees were nice and location is great! The only con for me was if this were a week day and you were in a rush, you'd be late to your destination. So, keep in mind they are a bit slow when it's really busy. read more

Went here and got a cinnamon bun and their island latte. The cinnamon roll was good, so was the island coffee although I thought it would be a lot sweeter. The inside is pretty small with seating being a little sparse. It's a quiet calm environment with marble tables and most of the people sitting are here on their laptops doing work.It's a nice place to study. read more

Walking into the downtown pedestrian vacant street mall, (that's ok, more room for people to ride their bikes on the sidewalk), I wanted something inexpensive to eat. I popped in here, since it was nearby, and open, and asked if they had any "wraps or stuff like that to eat". Just a single lonely and sad looking sandwich that had gudah (sp?) cheese on it, which I wouldn't like anyway. Without prompting, the clerk pointed me to a nearby Subway sandwich place, and a McDonald's. That's friendly customer service, while providing me with information that I can use. I'll be back here for my morning coffee during the week.

Their iced latte, a common favorite, is also excellent with the perfect balance between espresso and milk. You know it's good when it still tastes excellent even after the ice melts a little bit. While they do charge an extra $0.95 for alternative milks (boo!), they have pistachio milk which is honestly the supreme coffee milk. It's totally worth it. Located directly across the street from Discovery Green, parking can be a bit tricky. I recommend downloading the ParkHouston app and grabbing a street parking spot around the corner. It's just $0.70 for 15 minutes of parking and you can easily add time through the app from your current location. Definitely check them out!
