Is it just me or does this coffee shop feel super elusive. I had a sample at my gym months ago - it was a vanilla honey latte - and it was SOO good, that I've been craving it ever since. But this place isn't open on the weekends and then yelp and google have different hours of operations listed. For the record they do open at 7 and not 8 am. That said... it's def worth the trip! A little confusing if you don't work or have never been in the building before. You drive down into the visitor parking garage and then cross the parking lot to the 3 sign and there are doors to the building. From there it's super easy to find- just walk straight and follow the pastries. I was there on a Thursday morning near opening- it was nice and quiet and there was no line. The baristas were really nice and made my drink just to my liking. I got the Texas honey and cinnamon latte with oat milk- iced/but without ice. And it was soooo good! A little pricy, but comparable to Starbucks. They also validate parking. If you like coffee, lattes, etc, I would highly recommend checking this place out.. I know I'll be back next week to try the vanilla latte!

im glad i visited this spot. beautiful and spacious area. during the lunch time from 11am-1pm the tables might get a bit packed with noise, but other hours are quiet. there are cameras and security officers so it feels safe. i like how distanced everything was and i like the color changing gem fireplace. i ordered their iced vanilla latte with oatmilk and it tasted very good, i really liked it. overall i will be back, and the visitor parking rates are decent compared to some other places like downtown when you have to pay $25 vs here $6. the staffs are kind and friendly.

I love this place!!!! They have visitors parking and the coffee shop will give you up to 2 hours of free parking. It is in the food court near the hotel. Also, it is next to the pretty glass cone! The two batistas were super friendly and answered all my questions! I didn't know my way around so i only had an hour in the metered parking that only takes quarters. I wanted to try the flight next time (like a beer flight but different kinds of coffees.) I wish I worked in the area so I could go to the coffee shop everyday! I love their blend of coffee beans and I can drink their coffee without sweetner.

This is a GREAT shop. It's in a food court in a big building but really easy to find. It has some beautiful tile and an awesome vibe that you might not expect to find. Great service and coffee as well.

I'm an idiot.. I've been working at the Greenway plaza for almost two years now and I just now tried Greenway Coffee.. Believe me when I tell you it is life changing! Every morning for almost two years I've walked by this place to go to Starbucks, but not anymore. G.C. is located in the underground food court between Greenway Plaza 1 and 2. The workers are really nice and knowledgeable on the products they sell. Since they roast their own beans, I believe that is the reason why their coffee has a much more bold flavor than Starbucks (which tastes watered down to me now). I also like that they use Promised Land milk which gives their drinks a richer taste. To put it simply, quality ingredients and quality service.

I'm obsessed with their matcha latte, it comes by default with unsweetened almond milk they made daily in house. Their donuts(from Morningstar) are absolutely amazing.(Try chocolate mochi, green tea and pomegranate goat cheese!) The only area of improvement is this cute cafe closes early at 3pm and doesn't open during the weekends. Oh and they don't sell their almond milk, I have asked multiple times:'(

This place is cute, modern and have a few bar stools to sit and wait for your coffee (it take a long time because everyone want a piece of their coffee). I've tried the Iced Chai Latte & Iced Latte, and both are super delicious. It's definitely a true coffee shop:) it's my togo place at work!

This is the best coffee shop in Texas. Why it's in the basement of my office is anyone's guess. I am just lucky that way. They don't even have an illuminated sign, just a carved piece of wood sitting on the counter. Trust me when I say the coffee here is the best. Better than Houndstooth in Austin. Better than Southside in Montrose, Better than any other coffee shop you can think of. The pour art is also kind of cool. Flat whites are their specialty. They occasionally don't have decaf available. The redeye will give your day a suitable kick in the pants. Don't forget they validate. Tell them I said hi!

The oat latte my friend got was creamy, well balanced and wonderful. We got the eggs, sausage, and cheese taco, chicken gumbo empanada, and the beef empanada and each one was delicious. The breakfast taco really hit the spot. Just right amount of salty, gooey cheese, and meat. Made my day. The empanadas are huge, enough for two people. Another awesome visit.

After having lunch at Loro in Kirby, I had some time to kill before some plans I had later that…read moreday. I hopped on the trust Yelp app to find a coffee shop nearby. Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.

From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup.
