This has been my favorite coffee shop in Houston since I first moved here in 2021. They use Mill King cream top milk, roast and sell their own beans (which we love to buy), and have some of the most creative and delicious seasonal syrups you can find. My go-to for the longest time was just an iced latte with whole milk and simple syrup and they use such good quality ingredients that it hit every single time. In this particular visit, I tried their hot blueberry maple latte ("Short stack") and it literally tasted like blueberry pancakes! 10/10 and this will always be a favorite coffee shop for us!
Still loving their delicious coffee! They also sell fresh beans to use at home. Always a perfect, relaxing stop when in the area.
Another solid place for a flat white -- the coffee was very fragrant and I liked how they had a little area with packets of sugars and a bottle of simple syrup to sweeten your drink. I don't see a lot of places do this. This is also great place to do some studying or to get work done. There's a variety of seating and plenty of outlets - I like a mix of standing and sitting, so I opted for the taller table with bar stools. I got here around 8:30AM and the place was quite packed with people getting breakfast & chatting. By 10AM, the rush slowed, down and there were more open seating. Noon rolls around and it's back to being very busy, with lots of people doing work - so come early to get a good spot!
This coffee shop was recommended to me recently, and the wild part is it's a couple miles from my place, I'd driven past it hundreds of times and I simply didn't realize The interior was incredibly trendy. When I went it was on a weekend, and closer to noon, and this spot was pretty much completely full. It's obviously a great shop to work, do homework, read a book, or catch up with friends The menu offers all your favorite classic coffee drinks. There's also pastries, muffins, parfait, etc. this place is a roasters, and there is a section you can peer through windows to see where some of the magic happens. You can also purchase beans from them The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a painless process to order, and the orders come out very quickly... quicker than most coffee shops. And it's definitely not a quantity or efficiency over quality because the coffee is amazing, and they still had time to create beautiful latte art So, the only thing negative I have to say about this shop... it's easy to miss. The exterior isn't anything overly flashy, and it just blends in with the other businesses there. There is a vibrant sign and a cool little coffee shaped bike rack. There is parking on the side, or there are a handful of to-go 10min parking spots in the front Cheers!!
I was here for the first time and love the coffee. The tacos were very disappointing, but I'll be back to try something else because the latte was so creamy and delicious and great flavors. Try the PanDan latte; nutty & sweet. They make their syrup in house and it's a really unique flavor.
Great customer service. Chai mid, lacks strong flavor and doesn't taste honey. Cortado has great flavor and espresso ratio, syrup doesn't come thru but great if you don't like sweet drinks.
This morning's song playlist is really pumping me up! It's Saturday and we're on a K-pop trend ! I like this location for it's simply and cozy service. Latte, flat white, cappuccino or mocha on the menu, or soda and various pastries for more. Pick a table, most are 2 seaters, a couple of sofas and high tables. Great lighting from the windows, another view on their big coffee beans grinder machine next door (correct me here please - not sure how it's called). Usual sounds of coffee making, milk frothing. If you're part of the ones that enjoy that noise to be productive, welcome ! I realized this time that they have a little shelf in collaboration with the neighborhood Brazos Bookstore to let you pick a book home or donate it there. Love these concepts ! Kudos to the pretty flower on my cappuccino!
I've gotten an iced latte and hot chai with oat milk and they were both very good! Their breakfast tacos are also very filling for a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly. Make sure to sign up for their rewards on Toast, they give $10 birthday coupons!
I got the latte with french vanilla syrup. My drink wasn't overly sweet. The french vanilla syrup had a bit of custard flavor to it. The interior of the story is really nice. There are plenty of tables and two bathrooms, which were clean. Parking can be limited, but you can park at the nextdoor lot until 2 PM. The employee was really friendly and answered all of our questions.
Perfect little place to sit and do some work. Now the parking sucks, but once you're in it was good. It also wasn't super noisy like some shops can be. I didn't experience the service other than ordering my food, but the guy did give a good recommendation. I had the taste of Texas breakfast burrito and the green juice, both good.
Your beloved local coffee shop down the street, a place where the regulars are known by name and friendships are formed. This was my first time visiting, but I could see while waiting in line how well the barista knew their customers. And when it came to my turn, I was greeted with the same warmth. I ordered a quick croissant and cup of coffee for my first time, and I was happy with the quality and plating. The coffee shop was also very nicely designed with a modern interior, the type that you might have seen as virtual zoom backgrounds.
Great place to grab coffee and some quick breakfast. My latte was warm and perfect. The breakfast taco is huge, almost like a burrito and well worth the $5! Service is quick and there's plenty of seating in the cafe although it can get quite loud when completely occupied.
Came to this coffee shop to get some work done, and was impressed by the latte art as well as the rich but not overly sweet flavor of the seasonal pumpkin spice latte! The ambience inside was also really nice, I loved the lighting as well as the seating options inside. I was able to get a good amount of work done with no problems, so I will definitely be back if I'm in the area!
Cavo Coffee!! I've driven by this building so many times off Bissonnet and did not realize there was the cutest coffee shop within until a friend recommended. I absolutely loved the vibe - it was welcoming and community touches all around. For example a little "take a book" wall, plant propagation exchange station, and some items for sale including a book one of their baristas wrote. How cool! And the COFFEE - this is somewhere where you can really taste the craft. Fantastic Ethiopian house blend. We also tried some pastries and the cornbread cookie (SO good). Decently busy on a Sunday morning, though easy parking in the lot. Enough light energy to either work/study or chat with a friend. Can't wait to go again. read more
Everything and everyone are so amazing here at Cavo Coffee. The employees are so fabulous and friendly. It's a nice place to work and chill. I especially enjoyed being here sitting in the comfy chairs with my friend sipping the freshly brewed coffee and some delicious pastries. I first learned about this place was because of the OutSmart Magazine's annual recognition. People chose Cleo Coffee as the Gayest and Greatest Readers Choice Award, along with the other business Cleo Roasting Co. The best time to come by is commute hours and Sunday afternoon. I could usually find space to sit and park. I usually buy the freshest roasted beans and ask them to grind them for me. So, I can take them home to brew at my house. I'm here frequently to buy my freshly roasted coffees. read more

I've studied from here a couple of times - it's a great spot for working, studying or meeting with a friend. I wasn't a huge fan of the drip coffee but loved the latte I had today! They have a seasonal flavor of vanilla rose - very strong flavor in the latte. It was delicious! Perfect temperature, frothiness and sweetness. Great way to start my day today! Thanks Cavo! read more

came to cavo coffee on labor day! it was such a nice coffee shop - with multiple areas to fit the different needs of people going to a cafe. there's a couch area, a large communal table, and individual work areas. there's parking on the side, and the parking in front is only for to-go coffee spots. i got the cortado ($4.5), the beef empanada ($2.75), and an earl grey scone ($3.50). my friend tried their summer special, pandan at the disco matcha latte, which is matcha with pandan and banana. i tried a sip and it was just okay. i really liked their coffee and the earl grey scone! the beef empanada was a bit dry inside. vibes were good! would come back to do work one day. read more

Cavo is unassuming. I wouldn't have noticed it in passing, but a dedicated yelp search brought me. Pretty one-note in terms of ambiance- it's dim, low music, cold and many ppl are studying. The coffee is quality, you can taste it instantly. I got an iced oat milk latte with French vanilla, half sweet. I nodded in approval walking away with it and snagged you a couple outside shots so you'd know you were at the right spot when you come. Two word review: French vanilla read more

This was a great place to get some work done because it was cozy and quiet. The service was excellent and my honey lavender latte was delicious. I also recommend the coconut chocolate chip cookie. The parking is a bit scarce but they do give you the WiFi password with your purchase! read more

Solid shop, but nothing out of the ordinary. Grabbed a quick vanilla latte with almond milk this morning before work. Seems like they have a good selection of food and drinks beyond just coffee. Would love to go back for a pastry, they looked awesome. read more

We came here to do some afternoon work - I enjoyed the lively work atmosphere - it's a popular place for being productive. The parking lot was pretty full and so were the seats! Limited areas for plugs. My chai was lukewarm and didn't have a lot of spice to it. Perhaps I'm a bit of a snob, but I was not super impressed with my drink. Maybe next time it'll wow me! read more

Hi Jessica! We are so sorry to hear that you were not impressed with…
The ambient playlist, comfy seats, minimal and modern internal decor/lighting, and friendly/helpful staff sold me on this place. They also have a rotating selection of coffee beans for their different coffees, felt like the Ethiopian origin cold brew I ordered had robust flavor without being too bitter. Would come back again! read more
I came by for a midday pick-me-up and got my usual cappuccino. The coffee was strong and perfectly prepared. There are lots of plants to look at inside-- the big windows let in tons of sunlight. This would be a great place to get some work done! Service was quick and efficient. I will be back to get some of their freshly roasted beans, too! read more
The hot cappuccino I ordered with 2 splendas had become 2 stevia packets....they don't carry splenda. The drink had a wang from a sweetener I'm not used to, what happened to the customer is always right? The drink was good otherwise, even had artwork in the foam, don't get that in a togo cup much. The parking sucks. They sell beans roasted next door at the Cleo Roasting Co. read more

We appreciate your kind review, Sally! Thank you for rating Cavo…
I usually do not feel compelled to write reviews for a place when I'm still sitting there, but I just found it unbelievably frustrating how poor the wifi is here. I should not have to buy a drink then sit down only to realize the only website I can access is my email. I could not open a single link, even for yelp (I had to use my phone's data to write this review). A cute place, the coffee is decent but nothing spectacular. I'm not from the area, so this definitely left a poor taste in my mouth (pun intended). Come here to hang or chat but definitely NOT TO WORK. read more

Nice, clean coffee shop near West U and Upper Kirby. I stopped here to do some work after helping with an event at Rice. The coffee shop is right on Bissonnett with a small parking lot attached, but it wasn't an issue on the Thursday afternoon I visited. The inside is pretty with lots of plants as decorations, but on the small-medium size range of shops. There's a large barstool type table on the right with ~4 booths on the right and 3-4 tables on the left with another smaller barstool table against the wall. I think I saw 2-3 places to plug in so maybe come charged if you're planning to work. I had my usual plain Iced Vanilla Latte and it was good. A nice refresher during this summer heat. The workers were friendly and the ambiance was nice and chill. read more
