This matcha was AMAZING, but the location wasn't my favorite. This was located inside of Waffle Bus, so the space was pretty limited, especially with the large crowd and tables blocking the way. The service was great, and I took the staff's recommendation and ordered the Duo Matcha. This matcha was delicious, it was just the way a matcha should be! Although the ladyfinger cookie was delicious, I'd probably remove it from the drink next time. It broke into the drink within seconds of walking to the car, which made my drink a little grainy. I can't wait to come back and try some of their other drinks! The Okaeri Matcha looked absolutely to die for! **only knocked down a star due to parking and location!
IMPRESSED! Matcha drinks here are so good! My children love them and want to come back for more. For me, personally, this is a quite long time since I could drink all of a matcha drink. They all taste very good. The service is friendly and professional. You can see the baristas are making drinks through the window and they smile back to you even though Cocha is busy there. Ambiance: Sharing space with other stores, this look like a small food hall. So the parking is a little bit challenging. - If you just order drink, you might need to park on the street ( follow the instruction sign/photo I attach below) - If you also order food, you might park in the parking lot. Anyway, We also have an order of waffle in the hall. Waffle + matcha can get along pretty fine. So, even though there is quite a bit inconvenience with parking, the drinks are so good beyond expectations that I can happily rate oir experience 5. COCHA is definitely a gem! Best, Chloe
The Houston girlies definitely know their matcha, so when I kept seeing Cocha consistently ranked as one of the top matcha spots in Houston, my friend and I knew we had to try it!! We both have pretty high standards when it comes to matcha, so I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype. The shop itself is more of a walk-up window than a café, so don't expect a lot of indoor seating. Even though there were quite a few people waiting when we got there, our drinks came out SO fast, which I really appreciated. I will say it's definitely on the pricier side, and the cup sizes are a little small. That being said, the matcha itself was really solid! It had a nice, rich matcha flavor without being overly bitter, and you could tell they used good quality matcha. My friend and I can both be pretty picky when it comes to matcha, and we both left impressed. Overall, I can definitely see why this place is always recommended whenever people ask for the best matcha in Houston! If you're a fellow matcha lover, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. Just be prepared to pay a little more for a smaller drink--but I still think it's worth trying at least once!
I went for the limited edition strawberry guava matcha for Mother's Day and it did not disappoint! I loved the strawberry puree which balanced nicely with the matcha and guava foam. It was a bit on the sweeter side but overall a solid drink. They were pretty busy when they first opened for the day but were efficient. There's plenty of parking and it's nestled inside a nail salon!
10/10 no notes! Cocha is the truth! Their drinks are high quality and absolutely delicious!! The only downside is the price of course, $10 but they are honestly so addicting! I tried the season drink "Kumori No Mai" and it was fantastic! I usually try a strawberry flavor matcha drink so I was excited to venture out and try something different at Cocoa. The Kumori drink has a miso caramel profile and I topped with a cream cloud. The flavors complement each other so well! I loved how the sweetness of the drink did not overpower the drink and I was still able to appreciate the rich, roasted match flavor. The baristas were all super nice and there's plenty of parking as well. I also love how Cocha keeps the excitement with pop ups, desert pairings and seasonal beverages. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I got two drinks for about $20. I tried the lychee bloom matcha and that tasted different. Aesthetically, it was cute it had some pieces of lychee on a stick just like you would see on a cocktail. The flavor is what you would expect from the name. It tasted like you guessed it lychee but subtly and then there was a hint of a floral flavor. You still get the rich creamy smoothness of the matcha. The matcha was well crafted and tasted authentic. The other drink I had was the duo matcha. Out of the two this was my favorite. The highlight of the drink was the smoothness and creaminess. I don't feel like this drink was even too sweet, it tasted just right. Aesthetically, this one had a lady finger biscuit. Had a whipped creamy appearance. I enjoyed the matcha flavor in this one.
They have temporarily relocated to the Waffle Bus since they're renovating their Katy location. This time I got the seasonal drink called Okaeri matcha (a berry cream pie matcha) & my favorite drink Kumori no Mai. The Okaeri matcha was okay, the berries flavor was good but the matcha didn't taste good in the drink. The Kumori no Mai used to taste better, this time it was a bit off for some reasons.
A top contender in the Houston matcha game. Saw lots of people raving about Cocha on social media and I had to try it out for myself. Entered Tulipo Nails & Spa expecting to be hit by nail salon smells with Cocha as a side setup, but instead I was hit with the pleasant aroma of matcha without a nail operation in sight, just a massive crowd all waiting for their matcha orders. Duo matcha 5/5 - matcha cloud was creamy, the latte portion didn't miss either Kinako matcha 5/5 - soybean cloud offered that nutty note, really pleasant and didn't distract from the underlying matcha itself Prices on the high side, but given the quality I tell myself it's okay to treat myself once in awhile. Will be back to try their other menu items!
I think they have the best diversified matcha menu thus far, I also feel like they offer coffee options but mainly matcha. where as, most places offer mostly coffee, and some matcha. other matcha places also rely heavily on syrups and sweet drinks, where their main focus is matcha and the liquid portions are smaller which I really like. I may say this is the best matcha shop in houston honestly. my biggest concern was that it would smell like a nail shop, but it doesn't. they executed this concept very well. there's tons of small seating inside, but ofc we are going to crowd the door entry area. I got lychee bloom, they do a lychee milk tea, and for the jasmine, a jasmine milk tea topped with matcha. I think they explain the drinks very well when you get there. im still trying out different drinks but, I am sooo close to finding "the one" I have enjoyed duo matcha, that specialty one with toffee and cream, lychee bloom, and matcha jasmine. but my recent one was Isuzu, latte, sweetened with agave 50% sweet. I haven't had one I hated, b=however there was one that came close, which was pistachio, it had a genuine pistachio connection, but I would add a gram of matcha extra bc the pistachio literally took over. other than that, I am coming back weekly to try different drinks. good rec!
There's a reason this place gets so much hype. The matcha shop is located in what I think used to be a nail salon. Parking can get a bit crowded, and I waited around 20 minutes for my drinks. As someone who usually doesn't enjoy the grassy taste of matcha, this place was still incredibly good. The matcha flavor was rich and smooth with barely any sugar, the ice ratio was perfect, and the texture was unbelievably creamy. I've honestly never had a matcha this creamy before. Overall, it was definitely worth the $10/drink, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.
Great matcha! I felt bad bc the order table was outside but it was packed! We thankfully got seats inside to wait about 15-20min. I liked the lychee bloom, coco cloud, duo, then hojicha last but completely personal preference!
I think this is my favorite matcha. I'm not a matcha connoisseur, so I would not be able to accurately explain why it was so good, but trust me when I say it was good. A bunch of people were lined up, but it didn't take too long to get our drinks. Drink was creamy and yummy, definitely want to try their whole menu
Alright, maybe i should stop expecting LA level matcha outside of LA. I was excited by the green color and reviews from Cocha but the matcha was just alright. That plus the looooooooong wait and high price tag makes this matcha place a little lower on my list.

I've been seeing Cocha Matcha all over TikTok for months, so when I finally had a chance to go, I was really excited to try it. I saw that their popular limited-edition Strawberry Guava Matcha was back, so of course that's what I ordered. They were extremely busy, which I completely understand given how hyped they are. However, after waiting over 20 minutes for my drink, I was really disappointed and underwhelmed. The matcha was one of the most watery and flavorless matchas I've ever had. It genuinely tasted like milk, water, and bitter guava. I couldn't taste the matcha or strawberry at all, and the guava didn't have the sweet, fresh flavor I was expecting. Instead, it tasted old and bitter. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but unfortunately the drink just did not live up to the hype for me. I don't think I'd wait 20+ minutes again for a drink that was this mediocre. read more

I was on the hunt for a good matcha spot since moving to Houston from CA. Came to try out this place and was pleasantly surprised. It's located inside a nail salon, so it was a bit confusing to find since they don't have an obvious sign. The seating is limited, but enough for the amount of space they have. Nicely decorated and was clean/kept. The baristas were nice and helpful in recommending what I should order. I ended up getting the Duo Matcha. It was aesthetic and refreshing. The only downside was the cost! I spent about $10 for this cup of matcha, so definitely on the pricier side. Because of that, I would come here again but only once in awhile as a treat. read more

We got the kinako matcha and jasmine matcha. The quality and flavor of the matcha wasn't bad but the consistency was..oddly thick. Not my thing but that might be appealing for others or at least not off putting. The service was good and this place is a cute spot for a date or to meet up with a couple of friends. read more
Top 3 matcha spot is easily CŌCHA. Situated in an unassuming strip of stores inside a nail salon, CŌCHA does matcha correctly- hand-whisked, high quality matcha with a variety of milks, flavors and soft tops. You can choose your sweetness, preparation and toppings. I haven't had a drink here I didn't like. Definitely check their socials for hours of operations. Right now their main location is closed for renovations but they are on pop up off of west Alabama. I'll be back soon! read more
I got the Isuzu traditional latte and it was decent with a good matcha taste. I wish the price reflected the size of the cup though as it was significantly smaller than what I was expecting. The establishment is inside a nail salon so it may be confusing as the outside does not say Cocha. The space is cozy and super aesthetic; however, there was limited seating so it felt more like a to-go vibe. Our baristas made our drinks quickly after placing our orders and were helpful with the questions we had. read more

Houston's matcha pop up scene has definitely expanded the last few years. I wanted to try the pistachio butter matcha but they were out that day, so I got the iced hojicha latte instead. The iced hojicha was good. The employees were friendly enough. There's some seating inside, but not really tables to study at. It's more a catch up with friends or get drinks to go place rather than a study spot. It wasn't the easiest to find as there was no sign for Cocha outside, and it was located where the nail shop sign is (Tulipo Nails and Spa). read more

TO GO, not really a sit down spot. There's a couple of small tables however not the most comfortable lounging situation. Located in TULIPO NAIL SPA this tucked away matcha spot is definitely a must try. PRICING WISE think of pop up matcha spots like Enso & Tomo. A cup will run about $10 but it's high quality tasting. I got the JASMINE MATCHA. Jasmine milk tea with a matcha cloud. Floral with a hint of earthiness & bitterness. I'm for sure coming back to try the coffee. Everything on the menu sounds amazing. I just so happen to be getting my lashes done with my girl who rents a room here. I believe there is also someone who does nails but appointments only. read more

Cocha is a solid matcha place; tucked inside a nail salon! Glad I finally got a chance to try the drinks. Sad the pistachio butter matcha was sold out! Wasn't too busy so service was quick. Enjoyed both the oreo cheesecake matcha and yuzu tart matcha! Flavors don't overpower each other. I'll be back for more matcha. read more
Literally 1000/10!!!! The matcha flavor is so delicious and they use plenty of powder that you're tasting the matcha even over the milk & flavors added. The kumori is SO good, different but so delicious. We loved it so much that we went back 2 days in a row! The service is great, extremely fast for not batching making matcha!!! They are visibly whisking the matcha fresh for every single drink. It's a very cute vibe inside & always busy but quick! Don't let a line deter you because it is worth it!! Will be back! read more
Cocha can be easy to miss. There's no signage outside but it's located inside a nail salon. The vibe inside is calm and relaxing. They even have a wall of different chawan bowls. I was immediately impressed when I saw their lineup of ceremonial grade matcha. They use Marukyu Koyamaen which is one of my favorite brands. Their menu not only has matcha but hojicha and coffee as well. They incorporate a lot of the classic Asian flavors I love like yuzu, lychee, and pandan. The prices are comparable to some of the other matcha popups out here in Houston. I opted for the yuzu tart matcha and it was absolutely delicious! The matcha was rich and creamy but then you get a nice citrus flavor from the yuzu at the end. I am happy to add Cocha to my lineup of go-to matcha spots in Houston now. This is located inside the nail salon. Once you walk right in you are steps away from the counter. In the back is the nail salon. Had I realized it was a shared space with a nail salon I could have planned better and gotten my nails done as well! Cute spot and festive for the Xmas season. Drinks are delicious! I enjoyed the hou coco creamy. If you like hojicha, milk, and coconut water then try this My sister got the yuzu tart matcha and boy this was tasty. Not sure what the crumbles were on top but it came together so well. I wouldn't say this is a place to sit, chat, and mingle for a long period of time. There are a few chairs but really they are good spots to sit while you wait for your order and take a few pictures. read more

I love this place. Since moving from Dallas I've been missing food matcha. Hands down the best matcha place I've been to in Houston! Service is okay but it gets really busy. They come out with the matcha a little later but it's made by hand so it's great quality! I wish they had a bigger place but it's amazing! read more

Great matcha! I need to come back to try their other drinks. The staff make your drinks right in front of you which it's enjoyable to watch. their decor is really nice. Location might seem misleading as they're located in a nail salon. read more

Cocha was very good once we found it. It's tucked inside Tulipo nail spa. I ordered the matcha latte with the yuzu soft top. It was super smooth and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet. We will definitely return. read more

Upon walking in, the store is full of people waiting for their orders. The layout of the inside was honestly a little strange and didn't make much sense. There was a couch against one wall and a bench against another then just a few stools and chairs scattered throughout. It didn't seem very cohesive and just felt like it was randomly thrown together. The guy manning the register thankfully let us know that it would be a 20 min wait so we knew what to expect. Around 4:30 pm on a Sunday, they were out of the yuzu tart matcha & lychee bloom matcha (bummer since that's what I originally came for). It smelled super fragrant inside and it was nice being able to get an up close view of the process of the staff prepping each drink. We got the kinako matcha & houjicha latte. The kinako matcha had a nutty and earthy taste that blended well with the richness of the matcha. The houjicha latte was light and slow roasted, done just right unlike other houjicha drinks I have tried. The quality of the matcha here is great, very authentic and reminds me of what we had in Japan. Would come back again but earlier on in the day so nothing runs out yet. read more
