Looking from the turning lane
Lou C.

This tiny Starbucks was the worst Starbucks ever. It has illogical layout of drive thru lane with parking lot. I specifically asked for room temperature tea. Ok. They have hot and iced teas. How about yea no ice? When I got my order, it had ice. I asked employee to remove the ice. Thank goodness she filled it with more tea. Tea flavor was fine. But I wouldn't order it again because I could make it at home for less than that. Ok I was here with a friend. He ordered chai latte. Why is it so difficult to say it correctly and it has to be exactly CHAI LATTE. No other words before and after. The prep area behind the counter was dirty. They poured teas from dispensers. They looked old. Overall. Not a pleasant experience. Upon leaving, I had to wait for drive through lane to clear before I could back out of my spot. DON'T PARK BY THE ENTRANCE. terrible.

Caramel macchiato

Okay yall, I came into the Starbucks, super disheveled and completely forgot my purse at work so I went back to my car to get a change pouch and count to make sure I had enough to pay. Kendra was so seeer and took care of me I was near tears. You never know the kind of day people are having the kindness. Kendra showed me was amazing.

This Starbucks always has a ridiculous line! I guess with the limited amount of space they had to build on they opted out of designing it in a way that cars will always get stuck going in/out or to park. Ugh!!

Medicine Ball Tea
Priya R.

I've been coming here since before their new renovation and it definitely looks a lot better and more spacious/modern after the renovation. But there is always a huge drive-through line in the mornings and almost never any parking in their tiny parking lot. Since their drive through line is always so long, it also takes them a very long time to get your order ready. So I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are in a rush. I usually get their mango dragonfruit or double chocolate chip frappe, but this time since I was feeling a little sick, I tried their medicine ball tea. It is basically a combination of two of their teavana teas in hot water with honey and lemon. It's something to try if you are feeling a little under the weather. You could also get a venti hot water with this to help too.

employees did nothing but complain about co works and management. Great earfuls at the drive thru
Jon R.

Poorly made drinks because the were to busy complaining about each other. Thanks Starbucks for the diversity in employment.

This was supposed to be a venti drink

I do have a sweet tooth though, so it might be too sweet for some others, but I thought it pairs very well with their Honey Vanilla Latte or their other lattes. The service has been profoundly outstanding with their customers and I've noticed they're accommodating and joking with their customers. I've seen people of all ages at this establishment - students, couples, and people of all ages and ethnicities. It feels like a good spot to just get either a coffee or an alcoholic beverage and sit outside to enjoy the sunsets of Houston. It's also a very bike-able location if you live close in the neighborhood which makes it feel like a cute hole in the wall kinda vibe!

The parking situation isn't ideal, and seating is a bit limited (there is outdoor seating, however), but the nearby views are a huge plus! I also liked how they had a book table sectioned off where customers could borrow books. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Vanilla latte with oat milk so that I could catch up on work for finals. Overall, it was a tasty drink, but I wish the pistachio/nutty flavor had been a bit more prominent, and it felt more like a regular vanilla latte. Compared to other coffee shops, the prices here were reasonable given the size of the cup, so kudos for that, especially in this economy... CoffeeTrend also serves cocktails, which is another neat feature about this place. :)

The atmosphere is calm, authentic, and actually enjoyable to sit in .... not just aesthetically pleasing for Instagram aura farming. There's a nice balance of hip music and that natural coffee shop buzz, without it feeling forced or overdone. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, catch up with a friend, or get some work done without feeling like you're in a photoshoot. When I visited, there was a friendly group of grandpas catching up over a cup of joe, and their laughter filled the shop in an endearing/ wholesome way. The drinks definitely live up to the vibe. I ordered a strawberry iced blondie latte, which came out to $7.25 before tip, and honestly, it was reasonable compared to a lot of chain spots these days. The menu overall sits in that moderate price range, so you don't feel like you're getting robbed for a good cup of coffee. My friend (and trusted Yelper) went for the avocado toast and immediately confirmed it was worth the hype, which is always a good sign. Overall, La Tazza feels like it knows exactly what it's doing without trying too hard. Good drinks, solid food options, and a space that actually feels like a coffee shop, not a trend-slop experiment like some other shops around town. Basically, it's the kind of place you go for one drink and accidentally stay for two hours...which in turn might be the highest compliment a coffee shop can get from me!!!

The layout of the interior was slightly confusing, you have to walk all the way to the back left corner to order your coffee, and it was next to the restrooms. (Thank God the restrooms were clean.) I ordered the vanilla latte (kind of like the safe thing to order at a new place?) and to be honest, first sip was a disappointment. The barista prepared it well, it was not burnt, but the issue is when you do have someone prepare it well and it still doesn't turn out well means there's an issue with the quality itself. It fell flat in terms of flavor. The espresso overpowers the flavor of everything else. Which normally is a good thing, but usually in lattes I'm expecting a nice mix of syrup, milk, and espresso. The bitter of the espresso takes over the latte. I'm sure this place had some other delicious choices, but this was not the coffee shop for me.

Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.

Only feedback about seating was outside parties would take chairs from other tables and leave them with no seating and not all tables we're shaded. The drinks being available at the bar when it is busy and then food being delivered to the table was a bit clunky. Service is always friendly, the line moves quickly, and each visit is accompanied by the smell of fresh bagels. Jeff's Bagels has specialty limited edition flavors daily with a good selection of everyday options, all of which can be found on the app. There are also multiple schmears, whipped butter, and even some vegan options. A small display case next to the register houses some additional desserts. There is an extensive coffee menu as well. Bagels: The texture is spot on. These bagels offer just the right amount of chew without being leathery, yet are still light and soft on the inside. The boiled skin is just the right thickness somehow, and even with the slight denseness of the dough, it springs back without staying compressed. I've tried the plain, cinnamon raisin, rosemary salt, everything, blueberry bagels and they've all had excellent texture. I would've preferred slightly more cinnamon and raisin on the cinnamon raisin, a touch less salt on the rosemary salt, and perhaps a little more blueberry on the blueberry, but those are likely just personal preferences. Schmears: I appreciate the variety of options Jeff's offers. I'm a plain cream cheese kinda person, but I've tried the vegan plain, maple brown sugar, cookies n cream, whipped butter, whipped butter cinnamon honey. The whipped butter varieties are very creamy, and overall the flavored ones tend to be on the sweeter side. The only one I actively didn't like was the vegan cream cheese; it was too salty and had a strange aftertaste, though the texture was pretty good for vegan cream cheese. My only gripe is the vendetta against toasting. I've been in multiple times when customers have inquired whether they're able to get their bagels toasted, and the response has always been "we don't toast our bagels because they're fresh and boiled." These bagels are delicious on their own, but I love freshly toasted bagels even if they're newly baked.
