Went here 2 nights in a row and the service was excellent! Food was fantastic--even my 11 year old who is Mikey from the Chex commercial (dating myself) ate everything. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The OWNER is a HORRIBLE human being.. honestly the most rude person I have ever met and threatened to fight my entire family outside at 4:00pm. The situation: We are a family of Eagles fans and Giants fans (I know I know don't judge us). We first arrived on Saturday night and had dinner with a lovely waitress where the total was 800 plus tip (only telling you this to keep in mind how Much we have spent) Then as football fans know Sunday was football day. We arrived at 2:00 for the second half of the giants cowboys game. When we checked in with the hostess(who was very nice) I explained (in my Eagles jersey) that I was an eagles fan and I wanted a table where we could stay and eat and watch the Eagles game at 4:00. At 4:30 the waitress explained to us we would need to leave at 5:30 for dinner reservations. I asked VERY NICELY to speak to the front desk or manager because I had previously specifically asked for a table or that I would move to a new table to watch the game. Again keep in mind we AGAIN just paid a $350 bill as the change of servers happened. This is when it gets bad.... the OWNER comes up SO rude .. also keep in mind we have children with us.. he tells us that he doesn't care what the front desk told us and we need to go. After I nicely say we understand there are reservations and we are willing to move to any other table .. the owner says " don't really care" you need to leave at 5:30.. when we explain how frustrated we are and that he's being a jerk .. he says you want me to fight you outside?! Yes .. I am not exaggerating.. As we left he yelled " guess what losers I get to eat here tonight and you don't" What makes it worse.. 3 staff members apologized nonstop to us for how rude he was. I was in Stratton for a week with my boyfriend when I stumbled upon Mulligan's. I checked out their menu prior to going and we decided to give them a try. We went on a Friday evening and were seated quickly. The Food: My boyfriend ordered the prime rib special and it came with a salad and dessert. I had the stuffed lobster special which was very tasty. My boyfriend was still talking about how good the prime rib was hours after we left. He thought it was delicious. The Drinks: I only had one drink while at Mulligan's....a hurricane. Surprisingly, it was mixed well and extremely strong. I'm very picky about my hurricanes, but this one easily falls into my top 3. Overall: Highly satisfied. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We got our food quickly and it was everything we were expecting. The one drink I had was amazing. I will definitely return again the next time I'm in the area. read more

Even going on a crowded mid-week day, this place is definitely going to surpass your expectations. We were sat to our table within a reasonable about of time which you can't find at most popular restaurants. Once we were sat, the waiter was taking our drink orders within minutes. Once we placed our orders our food was at our table within twenty minutes. I was quite surprised with the time it took to get our food. My husband Peter and I are visiting the town for a couple of days. We came to this restaurant last night around 8pm for dinner. He ordered himself wings for an appetizer and some beers and I, being almost 9 months pregnant, ordered hot tea, pineapple juice and fettuccini alfredo. He said his wings were all right but the celery he had on his plate was very old and saggy. You could band it in all directions and it would not crack and spill juice like fresh celery does. Yayks! My hot tea was more like a warm tea, because as soon as the waiter brought the cup I was able to stick my finger in it without getting hurt. My pineapple juice was dark orange color and smelled and tasted of can that was opened a long time ago. My pasta with sauce was disgusting, but being hungry I ate a bit over half of it. Peter was upset with me already for complaining about the tea, juice and pasta that I shut my mouth and tried to enjoy the night. When we got home I started feeling ill. I took some Tum's but they were no help. I went to sleep and woke up after an hour with a huge tummy ache. It is almost 2am now and I just violently threw up in the bathroom. All there was was that disgusting pasta I'd have never eat. We were charged $20 for it - which pisses me even more now to think I paid any money for something that made me, a pregnant woman so very sick. It is absolutely not acceptable to provide such poor service and low (old) quality food, charge so much money and get people sick. Very disappointed and NOT recommending this place. Please stay away! UPDATE: Just called the place and spoke with the manager Teddy/Patty? She said she didn't have any complains about that dish and basically suggested it wasn't their fault. I told her I went to my doctor to make sure the baby is ok and she started asking about stool tests which I didn't have since even the doctor said it's clearly food poisoning. At the end I told her that I left my review in social media to which she responded with "that wasn't very nice to do that but I understand you made your decision". It was the end of if. Not professional or pleasant - I an considering calling a food inspection on them. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I didn't want to make a mess but with your immature response, I am absolutely reporting you to a local health department for inspection. They are obligated to inspect once someone calls, so better get busy and get your filthy place and spoiled food in order! I'm not sure if the sushi restaurant is included in the Mulligan's bubble restaurant but it is really the saving grace of the establishment great rice bowls quick to the table and when your table is quiet and eating you know it's good, don't expect much from the Mulligan's wait staff you will know more about the menu than they will and if you order a drink you better enjoy it unless you feel like setting of a firework display to get a refill sushi is a 5 Mulligan's experience is a hard 2 , they have decent specials at least great big open space to dine in and always some people eating here in full ski gear ,easy to get to and they have a nice patio option in the summer. read more

I was really put off by the "host" staff. I visited Mulligans for presidents day weekend & upon entry I was pleasantly surprised by the interesting decor. I approached the host stand and politely, asked a dark skin woman with black hair if they would seat us or we could seat ourselves. She then said "well im not the hostess, you can ask her", very rudely, ....well ugh excuse me, she WAS in the hostess stand, then, I asked the actual hostess with blonde hair who flatly told us it would be a 30 minute wait & handed us some remote and gave us the cold shoulder afterward, the waitress was very sweet & the food was "okay" I mean nothing extraordinary for a bar/restaurant sort of ambiance. This place was the absolute worst. Our burgers tasted like cheap canned dog food must, with bone sinew in them to boot. They were disgusting and one bite was a bite too many. We were hoping to at least eat the buns as we were starving but they tasted like they'd been made out of plaster instead of flour. Add the bad service and a horrible dining experience was complete. If they didn't have a captive audience being in the Village at Stratton Mountain, this place would likely have flopped long ago. Too bad I have to give it even one a star. I have been to Mulligans every year when we ski at Stratton. Today I had lunch with my son at the sushi bar. We ordered bowls. There was barely 2 bites of fish and my son order crab added to his salmon bowl. I was shocked when the bill came and was 57 dollars. The additional fish was $12 And the extra spicey mayo was $2. When I spoke to the manager/ owner he had the nerve to tell me they don't give away food. And he further told me that others would be insulted if warned about the up charge if $12 . I walked in on a calm Thursday summer afternoon. The mood was dead, but my hungry stomach forced me into this adventure anyway. First, service was subpar. Second of all, half of us found gross foreign in our beverage glasses. In other words, their dishwasher needs to be sent home. The food was good, but the prices are are bit steep for what it is. Mulligan's has long gotten away with the usual shenanigans that overpriced restaurants with monopolies over ski area customers pull. While they do have the occasional capacity to surprise, the most frequent result of a meal at Mulligan's exposes much more of this facility's lewd and outrageous conduct. First off, the speed and quality of service is consistently lackluster. Simple orders take over an hour to process on even the slowest midweek afternoon, and the waitstaff is usually inattentive and often rude. For example, my party and I were laughed at when we advised our waitress that not only was there a pink birthday candle in my Diet Coke, but also some unidentifiable matter within my friend's beer. She proceeded to laugh at us, coming back twenty minutes later with a check that did not reflect this atrocious misdeed. It is irresponsible for the restaurant to be exposing its patrons to many potential biohazards, and treating them in a condescending manner does not make their misdoings any less acceptable. Another disappointing experience at Mulligan's was when I was fifteen years old and went to dinner here with another fifteen year old friend. After a two hour meal where an "ice cream sundae" was served that consisted exclusively of whipped cream and pineapple chunks, we were given the 18 percent gratuity typically reserved for parties of six or more. Our waiter, with a smirk on his face, notified us that the restaurant does this to teenaged patrons as a practice, assuming that they would fail to offer a tip. This assumption was highly offensive to us responsible teenagers. If the restaurant is gauging its customers with high prices, the least they can do is treat them respectfully and as human beings. One decent meal I have had here was the 'Turkey Ciabatta'. I was shocked that such a low-grade establishment with such sketchy practices as Mulligan's was able to offer a sandwich whose ingredients blended in such a coherent and dignified fashion. I give them 4.5 stars for the sandwich, 1.5 stars for service and advise them to refine their business to avoid being run into bankruptcy by the many other eateries in the Stratton area. read more

We ate at Mulligan's for dinner on Thursday 12/27/12. There were 9 of us in our party and 3 of us ordered a burger and all 3 of us were at home an hour later suffering from food poisoning. I called the next day to let the manager know so that this wouldn't happen to future customers. The manager was very defensive, rude, and told me that we must have had too much to drink that night. So I guess an 11 year old and 7 year old drank too much!!! When I explained that 2 were children, he said it must have been what they ate for breakfast. He said he was trained in food safety and if it was food poisoning, we wouldn't feel it for 48 hours. I would recommend that he needs food safety training again. Food poisoning starts within 2-6 hours of consumption. I would never eat at this place again. read more

This is like watching the slow death of an old friend. For over 20 years we have been coming to Mulligans and it has deteriorated to the point we will not go back. The service, while ok, is now staffed by eastern Euro imports who certainly try their best. The food is another story. It is on par with hospital food for taste, presentation and delivery. My kids burgers were charred black on the outside while near raw on the inside (ordered medium well). The salmon tasted stale and the ribs were not as good as the crap you get in a supermarket. There is ZERO effort on the part of the kitchen staff and management. For an expensive mountain, this place is an embarrassment. Avoid for everything but the beer at the bar. read more

Worse experience. Bouncer with an arrogant attitude. Me and my family wanted to go there to have a nice time and listen to some music but everything went wrong just as we got to the bouncer at the door. He asked me and my brother for an id, he gave him a Mexican drivers license and he was ok, then I handed him my official Id from another US state and he would not accept it. He had to call another person with a worse attitude than him to come to my face and tell me that if it was not a drivers license or a passport that they would not let me in. I tried to explain what my id was because maybe they haven't seen one like that, I told them that it's an official document and that I was not 21 and a half, that I was 32. They started to get upset because I was explaining this to them and they didn't understand with their narrow mind. Then the other person that was not the bouncer told the bouncer "this is why I hate having people from other states come here". They finally let me in because a couple of guys that were at the bar came up to them with a better attitude and told them to not be so hard on me. For last the bouncer told me that he had never seen an id like that before, but the people that came and showed him that id he denied entry... So he has seen it before or not? To me it was more of this guy feeling his "power" with the worse attitude and racism. Earlier that they we had lunch at the restaurant and it was great. Very good service and the burger was very good. Sadly I won't give any more stars because they ruined my night at the bar downstairs. read more

The owners of this restaurant do not know the meaning of hospitality. They are incredibly rude and literally get each other's way being difficult and nasty to skiers who just want to sit down and eat and drink and spend money. We had a party of ten waiting to be sat in a generally empty restaurant. One of them told us we could not sit down until we wrangled all seven of the children who were playing video games in their own basement arcade. While we were getting the children to come upstairs (ridiculous on its own), one owner sat the adults while her sister came over and berated us for having had the gall to have sat ourselves. Did I mention this was an empty restaurant? After we decided to leave, yet another related owner called a member of our party a "big, fat, retarded looking guy". Seriously. Too bad Stratton can't rid the mountain of this place - it is a stain on the village. Despicable! Head over to Verde for a kale Caesar with salmon instead. Went to Mulligans this Saturday. Got a beeper and were told 1 hour wait. We went to a bar a few doors down. About 20 minutes later were beeped. I called to say we would be a few minutes and was told they would wait 5 minutes and to hurry. We got there and the hostess (who I know for years)said they didn't beep us. Then when she saw the beeper had gone off she said we must have gone out of range. I said I have taken the beeper home and it always worked and also I didn't understand why when I called she said to be there in 5 minutes. She turned psycho and said "you can't eat here. Get out" and crossed my name off the list. I left and came back 10 minutes later to try and calmly talk reason. I said I have been coming here for 20 years. She said well too bad. "We don't know you but we know you now. Leave." I said I don't understand and she threatened to call security. My advise if that's how they treat regulars, Stay Away!!! read more

Stratton is a very quiet area, most of the restaurants are located near the mountain. I however rented out a house and Mulligans was a simple 15 minute drive (despite the 45 minutes the GPS said). When we walked in we were greeted politely and were brought to our table. We had a large group and were put upstairs. The decor is interesting but a cozy little place to stay. The service was average nothing special, but at least the food was good. I forgot what meal i ordered, but i know the table was sharing all the different types of food and no complaints. I would absolutely go back to Mulligans but the only thing was the TVs were dated. It was hard to watch the football game on the small TV they provided around the restaurants. I also felt the service could have been a little more attentive, but it was nothing not to go back to. Another positive thing about Mulligans is that it was within a little village area where you can go shopping. It was a nice touch and gave it a nice feel to the area. read more
