Everything in the village was closed, nothing else around and door dash type deliveries not available. Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. We had a friendly but non attentive server who didn't even mention specials to us, which we only found out midway through our meal when a neighboring table received lobster ravioli which was definitely not on the menu. The menu was odd, with it mostly being pasta dishes and a handful of other options. I noticed there weren't any gluten free options except maybe one thing, in case that's of use to anyone requiring a GF diet. The food was average at best and wildly overpriced for what it was. It lacked atmosphere and felt like a standard ski lodge where you leave your gear for the day, and in no way attempted to resemble a more up scale dining experience. The only positive for us was that it was open when everything else was shut down.

Matter of fact I was so hungry that I forgot to take pictures of my meal! Service was great. Very accommodating staff. As far as noise levels it was pretty calm. Few people here and there dining and enjoying their meals. They also have a nice fireplace which is super cool! Keeps the spot nice and cozy. So there you have it folks. It looked pretty but tasted average. The brussel sprouts were just fried, no flavor, no balsamic, nothing. Bland ! The green beans were drowned in garlic which saved them. Espresso martinis were good. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was decent and the crispy rice it was served on was tasty. Still on the bland side.. more rice than tuna. We ordered a winter salad to go and it was literally such a joke of a salad, especially for the price. A handful of mixed greens, two tiny slivers of squash, a sprinkle of red onion, disgusting dressing, and a quarter sized amount of cranberries. Little 2oz cup of goat cheese (which was the best part). Absolutely laughable. We ordered the tartufo flatbread and again, just bland. Didn't taste any truffle and it just wasn't great. The best thing I had by far was the brownie with icecream. Definitely the best part of the gigantic meal we had.

Taste was phenomenal though only tasted chunks of shrimp which was fine. I would get it again and my friend took home a bowl for next day. Highly recommend. I heard their soups are often great. We opted to split the half rack of ribs, they were quite good. Little fat, good taste, I recommend this and would get again if I was again in the mood. Tea was served in a carafe I'd not seen since the 70's which I liked. Day before we got BLT to split and that was great. Fries are skinny, hot and not greasy. Good vibes all around.

While staying in Londonderry we were looking for a place to grab dinner after a day of skiing…read more About the only place open in Londonderry was The New American Grill so we headed over to grab some dinner. NAG is located in the shopping plaza at Routes 11 and 100. The decor is nice, simple and comfortable. The menu is diverse with various ethnic dishes along with the kind of dishes you would expect from an American Grill. My friend ordered the Seoul Food and I ordered a Scallop special. When the food came out both dishes were very nice, however after my first taste of the scallop special I realized that the dish was topped with bacon, which had not been mentioned in the description by the server. The server was very nice about the issue and offered to have the dish remade without the bacon, but I opted instead to get the Pesto Shrimp Alfredo pasta; the kitchen managed to get the new dish out promptly. While the shrimp in the dish were good, I found the sauce to be a bit one note and overly heavy; it really seemed to lack the herbal taste I expected from a pesto dish. While not a bad dish I would not order this again. My friend did enjoy the bulgogi flavored chicken. It seemed most of the guests were enjoying their meal, unfortunately I just seemed to have some bad luck with my meal selections. Hard for me to make a strong recommendation for The New American Grill, but of course your experience may vary.

We re-visited the restaurant recently for our 40th wedding anniversary, and I think it's only fitting to offer a view on what is best described as a bastion of excellence and gracious dining in Manchester village, Vermont. Situated in a refurbished former library building, the Silver Fork's setting, decor, and dining experience is indeed textbook flawless. Inside the upscale eatery evokes mid-century Moderne, a setting for the once popular Madmen TV period drama series; tony, chic, but hardly ostentatious and overbearing. On the contrary the high ceilings, lighting and space combine to offer that frozen glimpse of earlier elegance but alongside very contemporary culinary offerings. Table spacing accentuates a good use of space. We started with a "Rubies are Forever" Pomegranate cocktail with Pomegranate boba. The menu is large but not overbearing; a good mix of meats, legumes and fish. Equally the starters are enticing. French Onion soup is amazing but on this occasion we both chose the Duck egg roll with a special peanut sauce. Simply extraordinary and with generous duck portions. For an entree, my wife chose Mahi Mahi Fish, beautifully prepared over plantain. Despite being tempted by a brisket with horseradish sauce, the evening special, I chose the Ratatouille. Why? Prepared properly, this is often hard to find. The Chef's presentation of the southern French staple, was beautifully interpreted, accompanied with some goat cheese. We accompanied our meal with a glasses of red wine. For desert we shared the incomparable Caribbean Bread Pudding which is always a hit here. Allow to me to say our server Lynn showed a genuine experience both in the menu and wine list along with a pleasant disposition. We equally had the opportunity to chat with Melody the co-owner who, along with her husband Chef Mark, described their culinary Odyssey before coming to Vermont years ago to establish Silver Fork. Silver Fork presents a genuine chef-prepared culinary experience both in terms of cuisine as well as ambiance and flawless service. We'll be back!

We followed it to the 18th century farmhouse in Londonderry, VT. When we got there, it was not open so I took out my phone and made a reservation on the spot for dinner in two days. Since this was the week before our anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves to this experience. The menu left us guessing at first. There was no delineation of appetizers and entrees. When it was explained to us that items at the top of the menu were considered appetizers because of the portion size, it was a little clearer. But we were still left guessing what was the portion size of these items. We thought we would start with the sourdough rye. It came piping warm with smoked butter. The smoked butter had a bolder taste than your typical sweet cream butter. He wanted the House Made Orecchiette which was a duck sausage but our server said it had a bit of spice but would be manageable. Thankfully, she asked the chef and reported back that it really was spicy so he changed his order to match mine which was the Seared Labelle Farm Duck Breast. Labelle Farm is where they sourced the duck. I love that they know where their food comes from! We both enjoyed the duck immensely. It came with Solo's very own farm fresh vegetables. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake with blueberry compote. Someone brought it with a candle and said, "happy birthday or anniversary." Nice that they put a candle on the cheesecake but I did say it was our anniversary on the reservation. I guess that kinda ruined it for me that she didn't bother to look what special event we were celebrating. The meal was lovely. The farmhouse setting was quaint. You hear all the footsteps of the hardwood floors whenever someone walked. My only critique was that it was VERY warm inside. There was one window that was slightly cracked open but no breeze was felt. It was so warm that we had to ask for ice in our water. I think our meal would have been more enjoyable if we weren't sweating our way through dinner. I guess 18th century farmhouses didn't have air conditioning.

I learned early on that the upscale dining venues meant small beautiful platters of well prepared food at high prices. You were paying for ambience and experience. My wife and I recently stopped for dinner at Johnny Seesaw's on the way back from a visit to Dartmouth. I quickly had a Déjà vu flash dining here. In the mountains of Vermont, in a very well appointed, pretty rustic restaurant this upscale Italian venue served impressive offerings of most food I could not pronounce, but which featured fresh delicious sounding ingredients. While we were there on a Tuesday and the vaunted Prime Rib I had heard about was not available the only other steak offering was a 40 ounce Porterhouse for $120.00. Not a reality. I did order a delicious scallop dinner and my wife had duck which she enjoyed. The dinners featured 5 scallops a few baby asparagus stalks and what appeared to be a potato chip. The duck was that with what appeared to be polenta. Tasty but sparse. Had there been perhaps a bread service or side salad included with the meal we would probably have left the restaurant satisfied instead of hungry. The food was delicious, beautifully plated, served efficiently and pleasantly and just as with NYC dining, at an impressive price. This is a fine restaurant. I recommend having a good lunch if you go here for dinner. I would happily rate this as a five star experience except when I left, I was hungry and that is not right.
