just coming on here after a situation that happened. I read Ava's recent review. I was sitting in the booth next to Ava and what looks to be her husband daughter and son. The restaurant was busy and it was obvious the staff was running around. The young lady took the check and once she gave it back to them the husband instantly said "you guys have an attitude" she justified that she was upset that he assumed they would put dirty silverware onto a clean table. He still argued with her and she obviously was upset. Everything in that review is false. It was a misunderstanding. We go into Zoey's regularly and the staff is always welcoming and nice. The two young ladies are always running around and I've never once seen them be unsanitary. read more

We really loved this spot. Very friendly people here and our server was so sweet. The menu is massive. We had a salad and split their Creole Burger. That was one of the tastiest burgers I've had in a very long time. Cooked perfectly. Decent craft beer options...be sure to ask for their canned options too. This restaurant is a casual comfort restaurant in Vermont that has some good eats. The restaurant does no reservations, only walk-ins, but depending on the night, you shouldn't have to wait long. We came at 7:15 PM on an unassuming Sunday, were told it'd be a 30-45 minute wait, with it actually being a 10 minute sit at the bar. One of the most popular appetisers to get is the "Hex Onion Strings" which is like an onion version of shoe-string fries; it was something my party always gets when they come here -- I thought it was just fine, the bits tended to get stuck in my teeth so I wasn't such a fan. For entrees (they come with side salad), we went with: Rib Eye (Special) with Blue Cheese, Side, and onion rings; Turkey Burger; Pork Tenderloin; and the Burger with Blue Cheese.The turkey burger and pork tenderloin are usual crowd favourites, which were great, as expected. The burger and rib eye had a healthy heaping of blue-cheese, which might be something to watch out for if it's not your thing, but it was easy to scrape off. My main was the rib-eye, which was the dish that I'll focus on. I ordered medium, which came out perfectly, but I wish the meat itself had more flavour. The onion rings were deeply fried, which felt a bit more decadent than I usually like. To my pleasant surprise, I got two sides instead of one -- both the mashed potatoes and the string beans. However, that pleasantness was dashed after tasting them; both were lackluster. The mashed potatoes were more gluten-y textured than smooth or creamy (something like yucca), with large chunks. The string beans were overcooked -- either too mushy or burnt; I think a simple garlic butter sauteed would have been better. All in all, not a bad meal, but nothing to write home about. Very standard fare if you're looking for a reliable meal in the area. read more

The folks at Langway Chevrolet recommended Zoey's for lunch while our car was being prepped. Thank you! we had a nice lunch elevated in various ways from standard diner fare. Calamari was served with sliced peppers, though on the side not fried with the squid as I like them. Chicken salad sandwich included cranberries and was served on a hearty house made bread. My companion's burger was a stack as big as his head; I have no idea what was in it but it was more than he could eat. Atmosphere is nice with big windows and fancy booths with carved wood trim, not your standard banquettes. I'd come again if I travel this way. read more

Service was awful. We clearly saw a hostess drop beer over silverware. She then proceeded to tell a coworker. After a little bit, they go over take the silverware and put it on a table. We also saw them drop silverware and put it on the table. We told our waitress and she told the hostess exactly what we said. The waitress clearly covered up for her. We arrived in Manchester late on a Sunday when many restaurants were already closed. Zoey's Double Hex was not. When we arrived there was a 30 minute wait so we sat outside and looked at the menu. There is something for everyone. My husband ordered the maple glazed chicken and I had the Granny Melt (ham, cheddar and apples). While we waited for our food we were bought warm white bread and butter. I could have just eaten that! Both your meals were good. Awful. I went here with my mother while at a horse show in Vermont and had a terrible dinner. We are from New York btw so we aren't sensitive. It started off good, had some drinks and an appetizer. Then the entrees came. My mother ordered her filet medium and it came out well done. We said something to the waitress and she took it back, the second one also came out overcooked. When we said something to her, she just said enjoy and walked away. We wanted it comped off the bill because we had to wait awhile and sit awkwardly. She sent a manager over who then told my mom "I'm still talking" when she tried to explain herself, and he used the excuse of "we used a meat thermometer to make sure it was right" as if that isn't standard protocol. They refused to take the steak off. They were clearly mad at us and made us wait a long time before coming to take the bill so we eventually asked the waitress to take it because she was ignoring us. She got mad and told my mom "don't talk to me like that" and then yelled something at us while walking away. Pretty sure she called my mom a bitch. Didn't tip, don't feel bad. The food and atmosphere was okay. It's a good, solid place, but there are other options that are better in the area. IMHO.

This has a very casual local feel to it. Great friendly service, relaxing place. The Grilled chicken burger was fantastic and had an enormous portion. The seafood steam pot was unexpectedly outstanding. My husband ordered this as he loves this kind of thing, I typically do not at all because it may taste too much like the ocean. The service specially at the end needs to improve. I asked for my food that is half finished asked to go. The service person trying to clean our table we asked to have it to go never packed it. I asked the person who we asked to have it packed never showed up and never apologized for the mistake made. The server came to us instead and said I was never there so it seems like they are claiming it's not his fault to witness it. I would just say please take care of each customer by apologizing whoever made that mistake instead of making it like it's the customers fault I didn't communicate what I wanted. Nobody apologized to it. Since we already paid the bill, our issue was not taken care off and was just ignored just like that. I would never go back to your restaurant. Went in last fall since it was an easy place to stop off the main road. Since it was just me and I was looking for something quick, I asked to sit at the bar, they said there was no bar seating (you could literally see there were empty stools just steps from the host stand). I asked if I could get a table, they said they don't seat tables for 1 (there were plenty of open tables). I asked for an order to go, they said they were too busy (as I mentioned, there were empty stools at the bar and empty tables). Wish we found this place on our first night in town because we would've eaten there every night. As their website, delicious food at great prices. As soon as you walked into the door you can feel the family feel love put into this place. Of course we had to get a burger and yes it was fabulous! My husband's surf and turf was the perfect portion and cooked to perfection. Even his garden salad looked fresh and enticing. Lastly, I got the French onion soup to warm me up on a cold Vermont day.
