We were starving so not worth waiting for them to remake it. The avocado toast on "sourdough" was messy and not great. There was no seasoning or sauce/dressing so the food was just bland. Didn't know what a shaved egg was but found out it was a hard boiled egg sliced up. The sourdough isn't like the good quality I'm used to and it tasted like generic white bread. The tourist village has mostly subpar and expensive restaurants except Benedict's which stands out as a cozy and delicious breakfast spot. My "three piggies" skillet was delicious and my partner had the pastrami style salmon bagels which was also very good. The only downside was the coffee which was average but not very flavorful. Another nice surprise was not being charged a credit card fee like all the other restaurants in the village. Overall if you want a good breakfast, this is the place to come! read more

Benedict's was a great breakfast spot in the Stratton village in a space that worked for them. But Stratton mountain decided to move it to the old Verde space which is a premier village location with views of the mountain and walking village that Stratton JUST CANT GET RIGHT. The space now looks like a tired diner and the million dollar outdoor space is a 1/10 with a few ugly high top tables and an awkward mediocre guitarist and singer trying to create a sad apres scene. This place could be a gold mine. Stratton please move Benedict's to a proper location that befits a breakfast joint that we always loved and please please please make this spot a premier lunch, après ski and dinner spot that the mountain deserves. read more

Our first time in VT as guests at a destination wedding, my daughter found this place. Off-season on a Saturday early afternoon it was not too packed. Our server was warm and helpful. Our server Melissa greeted us with an apology for having to wait a while since she was the only server working. After that, she kindly made sure we had all the condiments we needed, and explained the specials enthusiastically, giving them more credit than they ended up deserving. We ordered two specials: a blackberry chocolate pancake ($5.95) and eggs in purgatory ($14). The blackberries were delicious, the only part of our breakfast that had any real flavor. The pancake was small for a diner. The only chocolate present was a modest drizzle--no chips. Better with their syrup, though. We were told the eggs in purgatory dish was made by cooking the eggs with the chef's unique red sauce, and that it had a kick to it. Well, the kick came from sprinkled red peppers one can find at pizza restaurants, and other than that it was tasteless, even down to the diced tomatoes mixed in. No salt, pepper, garlic, herb or cheese, just tasteless goop with hot pepper sprinkles. Good if you like bland, but I left hungry. Didn't eat much of the eggs, or burnt toast that came alongside them. What a waste. We also ordered a surf & turf benedict with extra hollandaise sauce which was brought to us with zero sauce. The kitchen ran out. Instead of the hollandaise, the server explained, the chef added extra lobster and steak. It didn't look like extra. The party next to us arrived shortly after we got our food and got a chance to hear that there was no more hollandaise. We would have appreciated the opportunity to change our order upon realizing that there was none left. What's a benedict without hollandaise? A poached egg on top of carbs. . . tasteless. What should have been a buttered english muffin was a flattened, untoasted bulkie roll. The potatoes that came with this item were also tasteless. Needless to say, for a dish that was advertised as $15 on the menu, it was disappointing. More disappointing? The register regurgitated this price with an additional $3 added onto it. Bamboozling. The price difference wasn't an issue for us, because the server was civil enough to take it off the bill (though without an apology) once we showed her the short curly hair cooked into the white blank canvas of one of the poached eggs from the surf & turf. This service recovery attempt was a bit disappointing, and we felt like we were a burden to the place. We had to wait until the server asked us for a box to tell her about the hair, because she didn't check up on us after she delivered our food. It's very embarrassing to have to report a hair in food in the first place. Combined with the lack of sympathy, we felt like we shouldn't have come. Very fun spot. Came here to load up on breakfast fuel for a day of riding Stratton. The space reminds me of those famous tiny houses, a style I thoroughly enjoy. Efficient, clean, modern, classy, practical. Case in point, the creamer for our coffee came out in mini milk jugs in a tiny bucket of ice. Perfectly enough, thoughtful and fun. This place advertised brunch and brunch drinks but didn't have a drink menu. I ordered and Irish coffee and then scratched that cause the waitress didn't seem to get what I wanted so I got coffee and a shot of whiskey. They didn't have the whiskey I asked for and she couldn't tell me what other ones they had. I went inside and checked it out myself...not sure why she couldn't tell me as there was only three bottles in there. Absolutely awful experience. We had Paige as a waitress. When she brought the our waters over she carried mine in the crook of her elbow. To grab the water she pulled back her arm rolling the rim of the glass across her armpit. Grabbed all the glasses by the rim. My glass had a nice rimming of armpit sweat and fingers. We ordered 2 orange juices and a coffee. She brought out 2 coffees and 1 orange juice. Never got the other orange ever after we said something. We were charged for the accidental coffee. For food we ordered two Atlantic salmon Benedict's and a short stack. After 50 minutes we finally received our food. With one set of utensils and both of the Benedict's missing the potatoes. Both the Benedict's were cold, like they have been sitting out for 20 minutes. After eating half the meal we decided it's best just to leave, still haven't received the potatoes yet... We asked Paige for a container for the rest of our food. She said okay, and came back out with our potatoes in to go containers but not the containers we asked for our food. Just an over all bad experience. Between the food, service, and the armpit finger waters. Judging by the reviews this place can be really good but our experience with Paige was VERY different from the common consensus. read more

wow, if i could eat breakfast here everyday for the rest of my life i would. i am someone who rarely gets excited about breakfast but this establishment has changed my mind. the more-mosa which is a classic mimosa with triple sec and vodka was strong and put some pep in my step. for appetizer we got the blueberry lemon fritters. the fritters are light and melts in your mouth, with a blueberry garnish that's sweetness is complimentary and not overpowering. one of the specials today was a "vermont sandwich" which was two pieces of french toast with eggs, cheddar cheese and ham in the center. my friend who got it said it was phenomenal and a perfect blend of salty and sweet. especially with the vermont maple syrup served with it to pour on the sandwich. i got the classic Benedict which puts any benedict i've had prior to shame. the hollandaise sauce was impeccable and the bun/english muffin they used was perfectly baked. i was honestly floored when i looked this place up and it didn't have 5 stars. if i could give this restaurant 10 stars i would. read more

First time visiting Benedict's. We were greeted and quickly seated. Well decorated, feels cozy and upscale. Our server was friendly and checked in often even though the place was packed at breakfast. We both ordered the breakfast skillet. Everything was cooked perfectly. Crispy thick cut bacon, juicy flavorful sausage, well seasoned eggs and tasty hash browns. Some history: - There was the sushi bar - Then they were refused to have their lease renewed by the mtn because the owner of bar 802 wanted to buy it - he bought it and made it the korean place "karma" - probably was bad karma, they literally made it 6 months before going out of business - Now here we are. Still salty that the best restaurant in the entire village got kicked out. They did move in with mulligans however, and renamed to snowfish sushi. As for bennedicts, its very good. We had lunch here today. Atmosphere was good with a nice "millennial flare" (eg like mason jar water glasses). I got the salmon BLT with a side salad. Loved it! My husband got the veggie burger. The flavor was good (although the garlic .. you need a breathe mint after), but it fell apart immediately. We both agreed if it can't stay together then it's not a burger. It was more like a round veggie loaf that needed a fork. It also had a huge piece of romaine lettuce on top which is just an odd choice for burger lettuce. Loved the ambiance of the fire outside, and it smelled great, but I must be really sensitive to the smoke because even sitting inside I was completely congested halfway through my meal. Benedict's will not disappoint! We swung into Benedict's for dinner last weekend, and I was really impressed by the quality of service and food from this tiny little restaurant. Benedict's new chef this season, Chef Luca, isn't playing! He gets the whole balance of quality food and quality service, bringing out dish after dish of phenomenal food to us and every other patron in this corner bistro, introducing the food, and checking in on the service experience of the diners. He's fun, personable, and obviously knows how to cook! What made the meal especially fun was that Chef Luca likes to truly curate your dining experience. While he is more than happy to talk about items on the menu, he also is happy to jump in the back and let his creativity take the wheel for a bit. He came out multiple times with riffs on various menu items, throwing in a couple of fun twists, like an awesome, tender, spice rubbed octopus tentacle, or a deconstructed crispy duck confit potato skin bite that checked every possible savory box. Throw in Sip of Sunshine and lots of other tasty bevvies, fun and personable wait staff, and a small bistro feel, and you've got a recipe for an awesome meal! I'm also going to guess that the tiny size of this restaurant will be a nice respite from the Stratton crowds in other, larger restaurants in the village. Stopped in after a cold day skiing for a couple of drinks. We didn't eat, but the menu looked really good and the prices were OK for a ski resort. The service was super. Our server Leah was friendly and checked back often even though it was a busy holiday week visit.
