This restaurant/ store is a hidden gem . I am so happy I was able to find this spot the day before I left to attend for my graduation. This small business was absolutely amazing. The owner came over to our table and asked how we were doing and welcomed us. I loved that. The waitress that we had was very nice and was very honest in what we should try on the menu. The waitress even said that everything on the menu was all real ingredients which I absolutely loved to hear about. My family and I pretty much got the same thing which was the sampler, it came with farm eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes or you can sub it out for either French toast or waffle. We also got a side of home fries . The coffee was also very good too. Honestly everything was very good and I have no complaints. They also make there own maple syrup and sell it in their store which we decided to purchase along with some amazing T- Shirts and hoodies which was all on sale for 50% off. I highly recommend checking out this spot. You Will absolutely love it.

Chocolate Chip pancakes, blueberry waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits and a side of corned beef hash well done

A comforting and cozy breakfast spot. Our group of 5 waited ~35 minutes on a Sunday morning and used that time to browse the gift shop downstairs. They have local maple products, Vermont apparel, Vermont mugs, etc. Once we got seated and placed our order, our food did take a little bit to come and they didn't differentiate over easy vs. over medium eggs nor did they make our corned beef hash well done like requested. The meal was still delicious but I wouldn't say the pancakes were out of this world special. I enjoyed the sausage gravy and biscuits as well as the blueberry waffle. The blueberries were very fresh but once again, the waffle wasn't anything spectacular. My group also enjoyed the hot chocolate which was served in a teapot with a cup of whipped cream. This is a cool place to visit given the atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable. It serves a classic Vermont breakfast with authentic maple syrup.

Stopped in for breakfast and had the Sampler and Biscuits & Gravy. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and the maple syrup was delicious. Biscuits were soft and the gravy had a nice peppery kick. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Would definitely come back.

Stopped by for breakfast. Staff super friendly and attentive. Pancakes fluffy. Syrup is their thing and it was delicious. Crispy bacon and perfectly cooked eggs. We would definitely come back if in the area again.

We came here with a party of 6 and for brunch/lunch and had to wait around 45 minutes. The place has a decent amount of seating with some tables able to accommodate larger parties. We were seated in a back section off to the side and this may have been why the service was a little lacking/slow at times for us. We had heard a lot of hype about this place and so were all excited. The food and drinks here are just average brunch food, nothing special but not bad. I think for the price and the hype, I was a bit disappointed. Their redeeming factor is the abundance of real VT maple syrup available at every table.

We were in Vermont for my fiance's best friend's wedding. The wedding party got breakfast together at Maple Sugar & Vermont Spice. The couple lives in Rutland and always recommend this charming breakfast spot. We were a group of 10 and got a big table in the back. We called ahead to make a reservation. I recommend this because it can get really busy. I liked our waitress. My fiance and I decided to share the sugar and spice pancakes and the biscuits and sausage gravy. I really enjoyed both of our breakfast items. It was nice to have something both sweet and savory. The pancakes were like cinnamon heaven. And I liked the sausage in the gravy. This restaurant is super cute and has a gift shop section where you can buy maple syrup and other Vermont goods. I recommend grabbing breakfast here if you're in the area.

Definitely makes you feel like you're in Vermont with its homey-cabin feel inside. The food was ok, nothing special. Chocolate chip pancakes came out dark, the waitress already said she was gonna bring more out. Not an issue as we likely wouldn't have complained and eaten the pancakes happily. However, the substitute pancakes were the same color! A little odd. My breakfast was delicious. Sugar & spice pancakes left more to be desired, as it tasted like normal pancakes with cinnamon on top vs. mixed into the batter.

This is the place that traditions are made. Greeted by the owner we were sat fairly quickly for a fall Saturday morning. Love this icon and tribute to the Vermont Maple industry. I love the sugar shack vibe. The breakfast was delicious. The service was fast and the coffee was flowing. The pumpkin pancakes i had were the best I have had. I can definitely see us coming back when in town. When you are done visit the gift shop downstairs to check out all things Vermont.
