Lattes were delicious hot and cold! Sandwiches were HOT and came quickly. Cute little place nestled in the town of rutland. Really enjoyed visiting here.

Great cafe. The coffee is good! My husband loved the apple cider and his bagel sandwich was good too. My sausage and gravy was very yummy. They have some seating outside and it was perfect to eat there with the dog. We were charging our EV down the street at the fast charger. Perfect stop.

Nice breakfast spot in downtown Rutland. Their lattes are on point. My plain bagel was very dry. I would stay away from the plain one. Bake goods are so freshly made! Go get a latte! You will not disappoint and not to mention, people are so great.

We needed a bit more caffeine our first morning in VT, and Yelp led us to this cute cafe. It feels homey, and we were welcomed very brightly despite the overcast day. Their special latte list is really stellar! It was tough to choose what to get. I went for the Morning Blossom, which was nice but a tad bit too sweet for my taste, and my husband got the Buckeye, which was good but could have used more peanut butter. Nonetheless, it was nice chilling out on the leather couch and finishing our drinks. There was a steady stream of customers but a very short wait. I wish I had had more room for food. They have a lot of great-sounding options.

Good food and good hot drinks, but they've messed up our order two out of the three times we've been here. The first time, we didn't notice until we got home (a pastry was missing). The second time, my chai was a coffee and we noticed right away and they made it right, right away. Third time, all was good. Plan to be back and we hope those first two times were flukes.

OK, so I'm in Bernie country for a basketball tournament and had some time to get a little work done before my kid's game started. I found the Speakeasy Cafe from a Yelp and Google search and headed over. This feels like an authentic Vermont experience. I don't have much else to base this feeling on, not having spent much time in the Green Mountain State, but the myriad stickers adorning the fridge give credence to my suspicion... an "Eat More Kale.com" sticker, the ubiquitous "Bernie 2016" sticker, which I'm sure will be joined by a "Bernie 2020" one soon. There's also a #RootedInVermont and a Vermont Public Radio sticker, just to give you the idea. So I ordered a sugar free hazelnut latte with almond milk and their soup of the day - Spinach Tomato Tortellini. The latte is delish. I'm enjoying it as I write this review. Hang on... I'm taking another heavenly sip.... mmmm. Yum. The place is small and a bit rustic in appearance with a warmth. The baristas know most folks orders as they come up to the counter... always a good sign. It's got seating for about 20 people, including a comfy couch. By the way, the soup was delish also. Definitely recommended. All in all, this is a great place to enjoy a coffee and a light meal when you're in Rutland.

Fantastic sandwiches. I'm a big fan of the "Montreal-style" bagels. Beautiful artwork inside.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.

We had a gin martini and a pistachio martini, both were amazing and very fair pricing as well. So happy we found this spot. It's small, but wonderful and intimate. We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.
