This small bar is focused on jazz music and fantastic drinks! We went on a Wednesday evening, when it was a bit quieter. We we able to talk with the bartender (Chris, if I remember correctly) and some of the regulars. Fun! The drink menu is EXTENSIVE! Wow. You could come everyday for weeks and not have the same drink twice. Our drinks did not disappoint. Yum! They have jazz bands on Friday and Saturday evenings, and it gets crowded them. Plan according!

Great whiskey/bourbon/scotch selection! Cocktail menu is large and will have something for all palettes.

You don't like whiskey, you love whiskey. You worship whiskey. You would bathe in whiskey if you didn't think that filling a bathtub with whiskey would be a waste of good juice. You will not call Fireball "whisky." (How dare it.) And you can pronounce the gaelic word for whiskey (and do so quite often), but why? Well, if that sounds like you or someone like you, then just one look at the back bar behind 9 Maple will crack a smile on even the toughest whiskey critic's face! The back bar is the focal point in here, reminiscent of an art installation and illuminating the otherwise dark and cozy interior; after becoming fixated on it for long enough, a unique landscape of peaks and valleys emerges thanks to the silhouettes outlined by the shape of each bottle. (this vision is ~before~ the added effects of any cocktails!) Feeling festive, I enjoyed a cocktail off their fall menu, "Cider Mill," which was a snappy blend of Rittenhouse Rye, apple cider, and bubbles, making for a happy little fall cocktail! One early, post-work cocktail was enough this time around, but I can't wait to return on a weekend to hear some live jazz and really get into the holiday spirits. Save the Date: live jazz kicks off at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights! And just remember: technically it's not drinking alone if the bartender's there!

Serious bar for serious cocktail drinkers. But serves real people. Understated vibe. The best selection of bourbons gins and whiskies. Handsome Unique handmade ceramic beer tap.

New Bartender...one star off for excessive pricing but the improvement in the attitude will bring me in...nice old wood ambiance.

Bread is from a local bakery and worth ordering. The hamburger comes highly recommended but I tried the pasta special which was excellent. My wife love her halibut but my daughter who is vegan didn't love her cauliflower entree. The hazelnut tart was exceptional. The restaurant is cozy and has a good ambiance. Reservations are a must unless you want to see if there is room at the bar. We plan to return at future trips to Saratoga.

I was looking for a restaurant to go when we were in Saratoga Springs in this restaurant looked…read morelike it had a really good menu so we decided to go there. I requested to sit at the chef's table because I really do like to see what's going on in the kitchen and our reservation is at 7:15 and we arrived a half hour early and we're able to be sat so that was nice. We were greeted by one of the servers in the restaurant and then shortly after another came by and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water and that our server would be there with us in a second. It took a little bit longer for our server to come by and he took our drink orders. The line chef started to realize that our server was taking quite a while so we asked us what he wanted him to start so that he can relay it to our server when he got around to us, and I thought that was very nice and great that he recognized that we were waiting for quite a while. Our server finally came back with our drinks and asked what we wanted to get started and we told him that they already started our appetizers. He also didn't come back for quite a while after that and he finally asked us what we wanted for dinner and he didn't ask how the food was or anything. He just said OK cool and put in our food order. When we got our actual entrée, I had the New York strip steak and my husband had the scallops and they were very good. We ordered those entrées because the line chef said they were good and we wouldn't be disappointed and we were not. Our server finally came back around after everyone else buster plates and asked if we wanted anything for dessert and we already made up our mind what we wanted. I ordered the coconut rice pudding and my husband ordered the pistachio cheesecake. Both of those were also very good highly recommend them if you have room at the end of your meal. Our server then came back with our bill and just randomly said he took off one of our desserts because of the weight which was nice but he didn't really acknowledge anything else. We thought it was very odd but also we were happy about that. This restaurant was very good and I think the staff is very in tuned to what's going on in the restaurant if something is not as it should and they communicate to others if they need to start food for people or accommodate other people's needs so that's the only reason that I'm giving it a 4 because the server we had wasn't great but the food and everything else was awesome.

Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end)…read more I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.

I had a seasonal apple flavored cocktail that didn't have much apple flavor. We got two entrees to share. The squash ravioli is out of this world!! Seriously delicious, really great flavor, loved the pepitas! The steak frites was disappointing. The potatoes and aioli were good but the steak came out cold, a bit over done, and chewy. Service was really kind, our server was friendly and answered all our questions.
