Rouladen, potato pancakes and red cabbage.

We've gone to The Berlin several times now, starting with NYE in 2023 and 2024. We love the specialty cocktails, atmosphere and decor. Simply put, the place is cool. We've recently become aware that The Berlin has a weekly Wednesday dinner event called German night. I have a strong German background and I'm quite fond of and familiar with German cooking. In the two times we've eaten here we've had each of four entrees and each one was authentic and absolutely delicious. Every item on the plate was such a treat for me as I haven't had such good German food in quite some time. My grandmother was a professional German chef and I think she would have been very pleased to eat here. The rouladen was my favorite and the potato pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. If you love German cooking or would like to try an authentic German meal please visit The Berlin on German night. I guarantee you won't regret it. Guten appetit!

The Berlin definitely lives up to its hype of ambience and decor. I've been trying to get up here for almost two years and they did not disappoint! Lauren and the other bartender were helpful and courteous. And they make an excellent Commodore #2! Kudos to Amy, Mickey and their staff for a job well done! Definitely a five star review from the Saratoga Supper Club!

A Manhattan in a comfortable and classic setting.

First time here and we'll be coming back. Cocktails are excellent--don't bother with gimmicky menu items, this place deserves honoring the classics, and the bartender knows how to mix a proper drink.

Was just here again last night. Personally my go to spot, intimate and comfortable setting with some of the best drinks and staff around!

Very high priced drinks and food. Quality is really quite poor. Way too loud. Really not much else to say.

I loved the Brady Bunch Tacos! 3 nice size toasty tortillas with cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, delicious seasoned beef. I liked that they put the cheese on the bottom because that's exactly how I make mine. The salsa was fresh and delicious and I also got sour cream. I don't know if that was extra. You have to have sour cream with tacos. My friend got a Reuben with onion rings for the side. It came with a nice sized dill pickle. She shared her onion rings and they were very good. They were meaty and crunchy. She said the sandwich was delicious. Between us we had enough leftover to take and feed my nephew who lives nearby and I'm sure didn't mind a surprise drop in from his aunt. As long as you have food right? This place is huge and a popular spot near downtown Troy. I went on a weeknight and it had a pretty good crowd. There are two nice size dining rooms with full bars. They even have live entertainment there sometimes. Our server, who was also the bartender, was amazing. He was excited to talk about this place which neither one of us had ever been to. I've definitely heard about it. He was very professional, nice and attentive. We did not want for anything. It looks like lots of fun is had here. I must go back soon!

Walked across the street from the motel but found that place closed till later afternoon. Looked across the other street and decided to go to Ryan's Wake. Walked in and fell in love with the place and loved it more upon hearing their history, especially about the beautiful bar back. I didn't want to eat too much as the wedding was just a few hours away so I ordered the special mushroom soup and cup of chili while my wife had the world's best Reuben. OMG The mushroom soup was outstanding and fortunately they were out of chili as there's no way my wife could eat that Reuben by herself. It was huge and delicious. Got to know John the bartender very well as well as all the other staff and the owner, Chris who even walked us to our car. What a great place with very special staff and excellent food. Just wish I didn't live over 300 miles away or this would easily become a VERY regular stop. READERS - DON'T MISS IT!

It was darkly lit inside (with pinkish/red lights no less); it was extremely loud to the point that I had trouble understanding what my wife was saying (which might not be the background music!); and the prices were expensive. The entire night they played 1980s New-wave British music which I don't mind, but had it been something I detest I would have lost my mind. We were seated at a tiny table with a small candle which provided some actual heat on the cold winter night. Our server was extremely helpful and though he didn't have all the answers he did offer to go and find out. They have a long menu but it doesn't have a lot of food options on it, with most of the pages devoted to alcohol. They had only one dessert option when we were there. My wife and I both ordered the Hanger Steak with fries, mushroom sauce, and green salad (about $40 each). Hanger steak is my favorite cut and hard to find so I jumped on it. Food came out in about 25 minutes, which is amazing considering how small their kitchen is. The steak was cooked perfectly (they didn't ask how we wanted it), smothered in a lovely mushroom sauce, and covered an ample portion of crispy homemade fries which were so good I would have thought them bagged frozen items. Even the basic salad which was just various types of lettuce was great. They aren't cheap, but they are focusing on "farm to table" and that means quality food at commensurate (fair?) prices. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are $15, so if you want something lighter but still tasty you can go that route. Speaking of light, if you go into the bathroom on the right you will find a cold, dark, tiny room lit solely by a PINK bulb. It feels like being on a spaceship (as if I know what that is like), and after when you leave seeing the main light in the restaurant is very jarring. It was a fun experience but not inexpensive and not one that checks the boxes that I look for in a restaurant. Dark, loud, and cramped might be hip for the young or "save the earth" crowd, but I am too old to give up creature comforts for such things. The food, though expensive, was absolutely outstanding in every way though and I won't forget that steak for a long time.

People kept telling me, " It's across the street from The Ruck. You know, The Ruck?" That was no help to me. I was unfamiliar with this tavern. To think that it's more famous than the county offices sparked my curiosity. So after I took care of my paperwork with the county I stopped in at The Ruck. I would describe it as a business and dive bar that makes craft beers. I made it in for lunch on a weekday. I took a seat at the bar. I was surprised to see the menu was quite extensive. There was a nice selection of soups. I ordered a cup of Greens and Beans along with 5 oz. of Fat Orange Cat Brew Chonky . I liked the beer. The soup was quite good, too. The man seated next to me was eating wings. He was raving about them. He said they were the best in town. I'll have to try them next time. Service is very good. The bartender was a good guy. Very nice and helpful. He said that on football game nights the bar is packed with Bills fans. Sounds like a lot of fun.
