We were here on a weeknight dinner for the view of the Hudson River. We parked in the free lot next to the building and came up the stairs in the back. We were seated right away on their back patio without any wait. Service was good though a bit slow. They were busy and our food came out slow as well. We did enjoy the huge crispy fish sandwich with fries, cheeseburger with onion rings, and German plate.

Great spot to enjoy a patio meal after Rockin on the River. I tried a Shark Week moctail with pineapple lime soda and almond liquor. So tasty. It was a very hot humid evening and neither of had a large appetite. We split one order of grilled wings with a bourbon chipotle sauce. Wings were less crispy than like but we did order grilled. The sauce was great but I would love more of the chipotle smoke. The server got us in and out under one hour. Also didnt notice one bee which can be a large inconvenience while dining outdoors. Check out this patio while summer lasts.

Stopped at Brown's Brewing with my sister on our way home from NJ. We have been to the other location several times & had great experiences, particularly the Charcuterie Board which is our favorite. Conveniently located right off Rt 7 with street & private parking. Very nice taproom with interesting decorations. Now, for the really important stuff. We sat at the bar. We scored $5 pints of good beer-Peter's pale ale for me & Sunburst Golden Ale for Jane. We weren't super starving, so we shared Pulled Pork Quesadillas (minus the peppers & onions) which were very good & a side of fries which were standard. Perfect amount of food. The bartender was friendly allowing us to try several beers before deciding on our selections. Several other customers were eating wings which looked absolutely delicious-I will be getting them the next time. Recommended without hesitation.

This review is for a bar visit we made recently. We find we get great service when we sit at the bar and that was true again this visit. We had the Mac and cheese burger and the buffalo chicken salad, but you can change out the sauce for other options. I swapped out for the cherry razz bbq sauce which was perfect. We tried the new Italian Pilsner and New Zealand IPA - both were awesome. They have really been creative with the variety of beers they make, but sometimes it's limited availability so we have to visit more often.

Family owned business that has been open since the 90s. The vibe is great with the exposed brick. Food was also amazing and they source as much as they can from the local farmers market.

I have been here at least 10 times over the past 10 years and it's always solid. I seek out their cherry raz beer which is outstanding! The ambiance is great too. Indoors, they have a bar and dining area downstairs and more dining upstairs. I had my engagement dinner and graduation dinner upstairs over in the past and it was great! Love their outdoor patio area as well. My husband and I came on a Friday evening but still got seated right away outside. We shared the artichoke dip, I had the Moroccan tuna and my hubby had the short rib tacos. 1 star was lost because surprisingly the Moroccan tuna was very bland. It was encrusted in sesame seeds and tasted like.... Nothing. I will admit I don't know what Moroccan food is "famous" for or what to expect but I just imagined in my head something exotic, maybe a little spicy or something and I didn't get that. We'll definitely be back, I'll just skip the tuna next time.

Felt more like a plate of chips with a side of turkey chili

I enjoyed the food, we all enjoyed the beer, I liked the ambiance, and I was reasonably satisfied with the service. But there were a few things about my group's experience that kept it from being even better. We'll start with the food and drink - all quite good, everything comes out fairly quickly, and all the food for a large group came out at the same time. The roasted cauliflower in the bourbon sauce is addicting, but also ridiculously sweet and quite heavy - share it, don't get filled up on it. My turkey chili was appropriately spiced with a variety of beans. But as per my photo, my plate was more like "a plate of corn chips with a side of turkey chili" than the other way around. The wings are delicious as well. We had 2 people in our group with a gluten intolerance. When we mentioned "Celiac" to our server, he didn't know what that was, but he was very helpful when we clarified to requesting more information on gluten-free options. It was a little too eye-opening, as he implied many items are made in the same fryer - things made earlier in the day/process were safer than others, even if they are labeled gluten free on the menu. That was good - yet disheartening - to know. Also, when we were greeted, our server asked us if we had menus, to which we said we did not. He asked if we had been seated, and we said we had seated ourselves. He implied we should have been seated, but I did not see any sign coming in stating we had to wait for a server to seat us, and no one working there made any attempt at eye contact with us as we came in, which led us to the assumption that it was seat-yourself. You can do better here, please focus on having someone greet guests as they come in. Awkward moments aside, you get good food and drink here, and it's definitely a spot to consider for food, drinks, and an overall enjoyable experience.

Excellent! We were a very large party and our server handled it like a boss! We ordered lots of appetizers, lots of drinks, and lots of food! Everything was delicious. I ordered the best chicken sandwich ever and it was super tasty. All of the food was amazing!

Even though I don't drink alcohol, I finally decided to give the food at Brown's Brewing Company a try. With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. To start, I ordered Brown's popular chicken wings and they lived up to the hype. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. In addition, they had a lot of meat on the bones and excellent flavor. These were simply delicious chicken wings. Next, I ordered the Buffalo Mac and Cheese Burger with onion rings. Knowing that, the burger was pretty good. To elaborate, the burger was juicy and the buffalo mac and cheese had just the right amount of cheesiness and heat. Also, the bun was brioche style and was toasted nicely. However, I do think the burger would have been better if it had bacon on it because it would have added a nice crunch. Likewise, the onion rings were scrumptious. They were big, crispy, and fresh. All the food was very tasty. As expressed, Brown's Brewing Company has good food and excellent chicken wings.

Nice cool sunny day eating on the outdoor deck overlooking the River. Menu was diverse. Food was good. Loved the French onion soup. And my husband had the seafood chowder and said was good too. We drink mainly IPA's so wasn't a lot of choices but did a flight and actually liked one of the pales. Service was a bit slow, but we aren't really picky about that. It was a beautiful day to sit outside. I'm not local, but if I was I would return.

We attended a Baptism Party at Browns Brewery. We were in a cozy upstairs room that had 3 tables which was perfect for our sized crowd. Since the staff had to run up and down stairs for everything, the service was a tiny bit slower than normal, definitely acceptable though. The menu was very diverse, there was plenty to choose from. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Sweet Potato Fries which was very good. My wife had the French Dip, again very good. The food arrived hot so our waiter must have sprinted up the stairs... lol If you have an event, Browns can handle it, and do it good. I didn't sample any of the craft beers, but next time I will for sure.

We just want you know that our son's 40th party Saturday night in the Malt Room was exceptional. Your staff was outstanding. They were professional, accommodating, caring, personable and could not have asked for better. The food was delicious! Everyone loved it. The venue was awesome! We were able to play our music which was great! Thank you again for all your help and patience!

Love their packaging/branding in general. Great job with this dudes! Now, on to their location and taste of their beers. Decent sized tasting room with a hodge podge of different kinds of seating including antiquated picnic tables and table tops sitting on top of old barrels. They also have a couch setup in the corner for lounging, as well as a completely separate game room with all the typical games for all the middle aged gen x'ers and older millenials that congregate here. My favorite beer was the Foggy Goggles that they advertise as a NE IPA that's fruity and hazy (which it was) and has an ABV of 5.18%. I also seriously enjoyed their Messiah Nut Brown ale (ABV of 5.2%). I could slow sip this sucker all day long. Didn't have the room or the guts to try out their heavy duty Funky Jewbelation 18 (12% ABV) sour....maybe next time...and if I eat like a dozen kreplach and a few gefilte fish first. Anyway, lots of beers to take away, almost all in bottles. Most 64 oh zee growler fills are 15 bucks with your own growler and another 10 bones if you don't have one with you. They've got tees and other merch as well and all seemed to be reasonably priced and downright funny at times. There are regulars here that know what's up...they bring their coolers of food, bags of chips, and even games to play. They hang out. They drink beers. They spend time...and Shmaltz is all for it. Things were gettin' kinda rowdy in there and I'm fine with it. No kids anyhwhere. LOVED that!!! Please leave your kids with the sitter and don't take them to a brewery...not their kind of place. Take them to McDonald's Playland...anyways... Pink Floyd on the speakers the entire time we were there and I loved every second of it. They have two different bathrooms that are both co-ed and parking is avalable in the front and along the side of the building. Yankee Distillery is right across the street and is a safe and easy walk for you drunkards that don't find the 12 plus ABV of some of Shmaltz' beers to do you well enough. Dude..you got a problem. No food served so you need to bring your own latkes, knish, mozza balls, etc.

Finally made it in yesterday...albeit briefly...since I'm currently not drinking much as I continue to recover from a recent surgery. (I'll be back in full imbibing swing real soon...). But, I have tried some of their brews in a variety of local places and I have enjoyed their offerings. I really wanted to taste some of the darker stuff; I've only had the lighter choices in the past...but I'm a dark beer girl these days. I was surprised at how big and busy the tasting room was. There's a separate area with table games and other fun stuff; the main room has the bar with plenty of places to sit, hang out, drink and chat with friends. The crowd was pretty young; I felt rather old and out of place. I asked about the tours and the kid at the bar didn't really know...had to check...wasn't sure...maybe they'll have another one in the afternoon...that was a little weird. So....we didn't do a tour. Maybe some other time. As a fellow member of the "tribe", I really like the creativity of these MOT's. Cleverly named beers like "He-Brew" make me chuckle and appreciate the overall theme even more. I remember when it was the Pump Station several years ago. The late owner, Neil Evan, was a fixture there and his seafood Mac & Cheese was something to rave about. By contrast, Common Roots has a more limited menu and plainer furniture. A lot of pizza varieties, tacos, salads and burgers. Decent bar food. By contrast, Common Roots flagship in Glens Falls appears to have a better menu with more variety. I generally eat healthy. I can't eat bar food regularly. The meal was great for a Friday night out. There's also a very good non-alcoholic beverage and drinks menu. I was happy to see all of varieties of stout. The snowy stout was delicious. So was the kombucha. The bar where I sat was clean, sleek and modern. The bartender, who took my order was helpful with suggestions. The main dining area looked a bit sparse for 8pm on a Friday night but the business is still relatively new. I'd like to see an expanded menu with at least a few more healthy choices and some family-friendly selections. Meanwhile, I'll know where to go if I get a craving for awesome freshly made potato chips.

We met up for 50 cent wings on Sunday. Yeah, that's right, what is this 2006? 50 cent wings, and they are no joke! Big plump and juicy wings cooked perfectly crispy and generously tossed in sauce with was was described as house-made ranch or blue cheese dressing? My friends really enjoyed them. I had the fried vegetable gyoza and I can't say I've ever had them deep fried before, more like steamed or pan-fried, but this was a game changer! I was really looking forward to the Imposter cheezy jalapeno bites but our server informed us they were out. I love that they have several vegan options on the menu. At the Yelp Event we were fortunate enough to try the vegan pizza and it was honestly one of the best vegan pizzas around the Capital Region. They use Imposter plant-based cheese which is a local product made by a small business in Troy. I love that small businesses are supporting each other like this. The beer is excellent too, we were looking forward to having the red ale since I spoke so fondly of it but it was tapped out. I had a really good mango IPA which hazy doesn't even begin to describe! It's really nice inside and on Sunday it had just become warm enough by mid afternoon, they opened the big garage door and let some fresh air in which was no nice after such a long winter. I think I can speak for my coworkers and I that we will be coming back again soon so please keep those vegan options stocked up!
