This is #5, the Flurpy double fudge stout, with a hint of pumpkin for the season.
    Bill Z.

Warbler has a pleasant atmosphere with a variety of seating options, a very friendly staff, and enough variety of beer and seltzer options to hopefully satisfy everyone. On my first visit, some of their regular beers had been switched to seasonal varieties (e.g., pumpkin double fudge stout) for an interesting change. While we ordered 16oz. pours, I did notice that flights were available. They have activities as well, and I'm told Thursday night trivia is popular. Some of the charm here is because it's not crazy big and loud compared to some of the breweries in the Broadway area. It's perhaps a little out of the way compared to others, but it's well worth the visit(s).

Social and light beers found mid Delaware Ave. they have been partnering with food trucks to enhance the experience, loved the cousins truck! Excellent can art and friendly staff. Space is open and bright. Bar shuffle board and two tvs for sports.

Warbler has quickly become a favorite of ours, we frequently travel to breweries and we really love the selections of beer here. They typically have a little of everything on draft from IPAs to Stout to Sour etc. they don't serve food here but welcome you bringing in food or ordering food to be delivered to their location and work with some local restaurants for this service. Their to go cans are very reasonably priced for a small business canning their beer.

Fidens Brewing Company on Broadway in Albany Each week there's a different wing flavor to try, so whether you're into stepping outside the box or sticking with your favorites, the choice is yours. And let me just say this... people were constantly coming in for pickup orders and filling seats to the point they SOLD OUT of wings I heard one poor guy say "Ummm... now I don't know what to get." But those Buffalo Wontons??? Absolutely delicious Outside of the food menu they also have a huge selection of beers, and since I'm definitely not a beer connoisseur, "Mike" behind the bar let me sample a few while breaking down the different flavor profiles which honestly made the experience even better.

Not overly sweet. I could smell the raspberry when I was drinking it. It has vibrant raspberry color too. My favorite dish here is the chili. Not too salty but well seasoned. Perfect consistency. I ordered a sour beer of raspberry-lime. It was decent but something was missing I still can't determine. My starter were house made chips with their blue cheese dipping sauce. They arrived almost instantaneously and were well done, which I appreciated. The dipping sauce is so thick, it's more like a spread with some intense flavor. My smashburger arrived, which looked great until I realized the burger had been smashed to the point of being paper thin, making the edges crispy. This made for a "bread sandwich" that was dry until I got to the sauce and kimchi in the absolute center, which was quite good. There was no side salad option, so I went with the German potato salad. It was over-seasoned to the point where I had to stop eating. The runner also brought over fries, which I hadn't ordered, but he left them on my table anyway. They were also well done and tasted good. However, I was "potatoed out" at that point. Many other diners had pizzas and they looked great. Clearly, they knew something I didn't and I should have tried one of those instead. I couldn't relay this to the server because he kept disappearing for long periods of time and never happened to see me hold up a hand for help. He was kind but not attentive by any means. After fifteen minutes of waiting, he did reappear and finally got my check. Common Roots could be an amazing place to dine and hangout but they've got some work to do. Five stars for the atmosphere and two stars for food and service.

They came free with my Nashville fried chicken sandwich order. They do great deep fryer food. My sandwich was all sorts of crispy, spicy and tangy fun. The space, however, has changed a lot. I remember when it was the Pump Station several years ago. The late owner, Neil Evan, was a fixture there and his seafood Mac & Cheese was something to rave about. By contrast, Common Roots has a more limited menu and plainer furniture. A lot of pizza varieties, tacos, salads and burgers. Decent bar food. By contrast, Common Roots flagship in Glens Falls appears to have a better menu with more variety. I generally eat healthy. I can't eat bar food regularly. The meal was great for a Friday night out. There's also a very good non-alcoholic beverage and drinks menu. I was happy to see all of varieties of stout. The snowy stout was delicious. So was the kombucha. The bar where I sat was clean, sleek and modern. The bartender, who took my order was helpful with suggestions. The main dining area looked a bit sparse for 8pm on a Friday night but the business is still relatively new. I'd like to see an expanded menu with at least a few more healthy choices and some family-friendly selections. Meanwhile, I'll know where to go if I get a craving for awesome freshly made potato chips.

Also impressive are their Bavarian pretzels with Cider Cheese, the ambient music, the selection of games to play, and their robust calendar of events. The team members working there are super friendly and knowledgeable. One of the highlights of this visit was watching a couple at a nearby table order a cider flight, and it comes as an impressive display of nine tap offerings framed in a nine-pin bowling pin diamond - WOW!!! Though I am not in Albany often, I do have a few friends in the area and rest assured the next time I am in this city, Nine Pin will be where I ask to meet up with all of my friends. I'm excited for another trip here. Well done Nine Pin!

Nine Pin serves up excellent cider and impeccable service. Flights are available with four or nine varieties. Signature started things off, signaling that Nine Pin is a purist, or at least traditionalist, rather than a drinkable dessert purveyor. (Availability may vary; Yelpers aren't legally liable for enticing descriptions of beverages that may not be available during your visit). Per the above disclaimer, I feel vaguely guilty about mentioning W.A.R.P., as I may have been there for the final days of this fall offering. which isn't currently listed on the website. This stands for Wild Apples of the Rensselaer Plateau and it lived up to the iconoclastic description. Pear was smooth and subtle. Given Nine Pin's proclivities, Black Cherry may have been the perfect match, sweeter than its peers but not cloying. An encore 4-drink flight meant a tough choice in skipping one of the 9, but the knowledgeable and generous bartender (cidertender? cider king?) gave me a sample of a hops variety (exact name forgotten) that was very appealing. I had feared it would be too close to beer. Belgian, which is Signature fermented with Belgian Abbey Ale Yeast, felt sort of beer-adjacent so it was my least favorite. Ginger Mule was enjoyable, sweet than expected. Imperial was like the movie PCU, great start but lost some appeal by the end. Cranberry was refreshing, one level less sweet than cherry. Since too much positivity is boring, I'll end on this note: why doesn't "the world's greatest city" have a place like this? Wallingford, Salem and Wallkill can enjoy cider flights but NYC? Oh well, at least the brilliant Nine Pin Cider is only a PATH, Amtrak and two buses away.

As of this review, Broken Loop has only been open about 1 month, and on a Friday evening, the parking lot was full, every table was full, and there was a steady turnover of folks coming in. Good for them!! But I'm not surprised. The folks working here have got it right. Of course we'll start with the beer. Just a couple of weeks ago, they were only showing 3 beers on their website. Last night they were up to 6, and their brewer told me they plan to get up to 12 on tap as soon as possible. My Golden Stout was interesting, the lightest and freshest stout I've ever had, with hints of caramel. My friend really enjoyed his hazy IPA, he said it's one of the best he's had. The food is equally good, and the menu is pretty extensive. We both got the chili, which was rich and full of flavor, with tortilla chips and thin slices of fresh jalapenos for texture and more flavor. Everything else we saw served to others looked equally good. And then there's the service here. I think every person behind the bar made an effort to speak to us at one point or another in the evening, including the woman who brought out our food. When was the last time they did that for you at one of the places I alluded to in my first sentence? But the best part is that Broken Loop is now the closest brewery to my house, and I'm pretty sure this is going to become a destination for me.

Our experience last night was much better service. We had Vicky as our server and she was a delight. So hardworking and caring. You can tell she pours her heart into her job. My major rave about BJ's this trip is the happy hour deals and deals of the week. We were thinking we were going to use a good sit down dinner and we ended up diving into "snacks". We just made it before the end of Happy Hour and we got some spinach artichoke dip and we both ordered personal pizzas. We also took advantage of the $5 wing specials on Wednesday. The spin dip was great but seemed to be missing something. Maybe some spice. The personal pizzas were a bit smaller than we were expecting, but for a $7 special you couldn't go wrong. I had the BJ's classic combo minus olives. It was delicious. The freshest toppings. The wings were a bit disappointing. Maybe because we're from Buffalo... but the dill pickle boneless really didn't have much flavor. The hot honey buffalo didn't seem to show any of those flavors. I almost wonder if they were the wrong flavor. But anyways, cheap deals, great waitress! I'll be back next time I'm passing through. We also loved that even though the place was packed, it wasn't loud! They have designed it well.
