Cool little spot off the beaten path in an industrial area. I tried the Evolution NEIPA and it was very good. Very hazy and creamy, I would recommend. Bartender was filling up about 10 crowlers for the guy in front of me but hustling and I found out the guy ahead of me bought me a beer for making me wait which was really nice, pay it forward! I would def pop back in if I'm ever in the area again.

Tried this spot out using a groupon and you got your monies worth. Very cool set up with picnic style benches all spread throughout the brewery. They had a fun trivia night, that seems to occur every week. You can bring your own food with you, which was really cool. Isolated location off to the side with tons of street parking. Beers were ok, none blew our minds, but we would return here to try out rotating ones.

Great open space with great brews and games! I have now enjoyed beers here on quite a few occasions and I have been pleasantly surprised each time. The beer is good and they are fairly priced. You can also grab cans to drink or bring home which is super nice. They often have food trucks serving up some goodies so that makes it an extra good time! Great brews and foods go great together. For now you must buy popcorn with the beer because of ~regulations~ but it's worth it to have a beer and hang out. I'll be back here for sure.

Lots of great beers. Always a good selection of beer choices to select from. Seating inside and out (seasonally) and food trucks in the weekends. Also they have a free give out a free Gauntlet (massive beer flight) on your birthday!!!

The owner shared the story of how the place was named and logo designed....if you missed the large mural when you entered as we did. They are heavy on the IPA options. There are corn hole boards set up which we were happy to start using, but didn't know it was league night so we were booted quickly.

Review time kids! So the bride and I decided to take the afternoon off and take the bike out for a scoot. We landed here! Atmosphere is industrial, modern and clean! After being greeted by our very friendly and helpful bartender we went with a couple of flights. Man they do a good job with their brews! I especially liked the "sour" they were offering! Definitely return trip worthy !!

I loved Fort Orange when we visited recently for the first time. The space is great. It's large without feeling cavernous. There is cornhole tucked in the corner by a large mural. Another corner holds a bookshelf packed with games. Multiple farm tables and a sprinkling of pub tables, as well as bar seating, offer a variety of choices. The restrooms are large, clean, and (for the parents) have changing tables! (Well, the women's room does; I forgot to ask my husband about the men's room.) Our bartender was very friendly and, perhaps because of our stroller and seven month old, made sure to let us know that they were family friendly. After reviewing the beer list, my husband and I each got a flight. We also bought a package of yummy popcorn that was for sale at the bar (and a friendly co-patron gave us her one of her bags of buy-1-get-2 pretzels; I've always relied on the kindness of strangers). While Fort Orange doesn't serve food, they gave menus behind the bar and welcome BYOF. But, of course, the important thing is the beers, right? Well, these beers are tasty! I'm biased by the name, but I especially enjoyed the Nipper IPA. I also really enjoyed the Mo-Mentum and The Local (their stout). While we have enough growlers for practicality's sake, we still bought a Groupon that entailed receiving two because we liked the print. (And I am a sucker for anything Albany-related.) Before we left, we were making plans with friends to return. This is a really great addition to the area and I look forward to returning many times.

I finally made my way to Fort Orange Brewing in Albany on a Saturday night in February. There was some off-street parking along the building; parking is not one of my super powers, so I always appreciate easy parking and not playing the "parking spot or towed car?" game. There were seven beers on tap (plus a cider from Nine Pin) and pint go for $6 while flights of 4 are $10. We tried the Whistle Stopper red ale, Pullman porter, the General blonde ale, and the Nipper IPA. Beer was good, but what made Fort Orange really stand out for me was the welcoming space. They had the most variety of games I've ever encountered in a brewery, from Rock em Sock em robots to standard board games to catching a ring in a hook on the wall. It's the kind of place you want to hang out and spend some time in, which I'd imagine you'd do even more if you were there on a food truck night. It seems like there's more than enough space to even add seating if they wind up getting full (nothing is worse than getting to a brewery and finding zero seats) and am looking forward to seeing how they grow. They're a great addition to the local brewery scene.

Really neat space with delicious brewskis and a dash of history. I have a soft spot for places that name beers after local landmarks or local history -- and that soft spot becomes even softer when those beers are also delicious. So, I really liked Fort Orange. The Nipper IPA was a gem, but all of the beers we tried were very good. It's also a great place to hang out. Plenty of space for everyone, plus games to pass the time between new pints of beer. I will certainly be visiting again.

This is an awesome addition to Albany's revival! Neat historical underpinnings to Olde Albany. Family owned friendly industrial atmosphere with picnic tables. No food avail except pretzels and soda for purchase. I'm told in the summertime food trucks are available outside. I was happy to try a flight of beer and actually had a Groupon for two so we tried all eight. Growlers are available for Takeaway. But I really enjoy trying all the beers. I am not an IPA fan but I could actually drink theirs where it didn't picket my tongue. Don't miss this place if you were a beer connoisseur. I'll be back for sure

The bartender was very unpleasant. Very impatient and just seemed genuinely annoyed. Beer was okay, would maybe rate that about 2/10.

They came free with my Nashville fried chicken sandwich order. They do great deep fryer food. My sandwich was all sorts of crispy, spicy and tangy fun. The space, however, has changed a lot. I remember when it was the Pump Station several years ago. The late owner, Neil Evan, was a fixture there and his seafood Mac & Cheese was something to rave about. By contrast, Common Roots has a more limited menu and plainer furniture. A lot of pizza varieties, tacos, salads and burgers. Decent bar food. By contrast, Common Roots flagship in Glens Falls appears to have a better menu with more variety. I generally eat healthy. I can't eat bar food regularly. The meal was great for a Friday night out. There's also a very good non-alcoholic beverage and drinks menu. I was happy to see all of varieties of stout. The snowy stout was delicious. So was the kombucha. The bar where I sat was clean, sleek and modern. The bartender, who took my order was helpful with suggestions. The main dining area looked a bit sparse for 8pm on a Friday night but the business is still relatively new. I'd like to see an expanded menu with at least a few more healthy choices and some family-friendly selections. Meanwhile, I'll know where to go if I get a craving for awesome freshly made potato chips.

I absolutely think this place is great!…read more I was introduced to Fallside through a Yelp Event earlier this year. I talked about it so much at work my friends begged to go. We met up for 50 cent wings on Sunday. Yeah, that's right, what is this 2006? 50 cent wings, and they are no joke! Big plump and juicy wings cooked perfectly crispy and generously tossed in sauce with was was described as house-made ranch or blue cheese dressing? My friends really enjoyed them. I had the fried vegetable gyoza and I can't say I've ever had them deep fried before, more like steamed or pan-fried, but this was a game changer! I was really looking forward to the Imposter cheezy jalapeno bites but our server informed us they were out. I love that they have several vegan options on the menu. At the Yelp Event we were fortunate enough to try the vegan pizza and it was honestly one of the best vegan pizzas around the Capital Region. They use Imposter plant-based cheese which is a local product made by a small business in Troy. I love that small businesses are supporting each other like this. The beer is excellent too, we were looking forward to having the red ale since I spoke so fondly of it but it was tapped out. I had a really good mango IPA which hazy doesn't even begin to describe! It's really nice inside and on Sunday it had just become warm enough by mid afternoon, they opened the big garage door and let some fresh air in which was no nice after such a long winter. I think I can speak for my coworkers and I that we will be coming back again soon so please keep those vegan options stocked up!

My boyfriend liked several of their beers so he opted for a flight of four - their Brown Ale, Red Ale, Extra Special Bitter and Ordinary Bitter. I went with a glass of carbonated Sangria from a Niskayuna-based winery, Capoccia Wines. I had no idea Niskayuna even had a winery! He really liked their beers and I loved the Sangria - it was so refreshing and fruity. It's super spacious with a bar area and adjoining room with more tables and corn hole. They had signage for a corn hole league that just ended. They also have an attached store with equipment for home brewing. Highly recommend stopping through! The tasting room is in the larger portion of a strip mall on Route 4. The seating at the bar is very cozy, and on your left you have a larger, very well maintained, area with tables and the rest room. The beer is good here, and so is the art of conversation, which, to me, is equally important at a brewery. They let us sample a few items before settling in on our chosen pours. I loved the eclectic setting, and for me you can't go wrong with 60s and 70s music (yeah, I was around for all of it).

For context, I rate products and businesses on a simple scale: 5 stars means I love it, 4 stars…read moremeans I like it, 3 stars is okay, 2 stars means I didn't like it, and 1 star means I hated it or think it's unsafe. This was my first time at Beer Bones Bar and Grill. We went as a group of six and made a 6pm reservation, which turned out to be a good call because the place filled up quickly. It's on the smaller side and definitely gets busy. One thing to note, there is a 3% upcharge if you pay by credit card. It's posted on the door, but easy to miss if you're not looking for it. We started with pretzels and mozzarella sticks, both were very good. From there, it's clear wings are a big focus here. They have a ton of sauce options. We ordered a wing platter and tried Stebo, garlic parm, moonshine, and bourbon BBQ. The Stebo was the clear favorite for everyone, with the bourbon BBQ as my personal second. I'd definitely be interested in trying their honey BBQ next time. The wings themselves were excellent, large, meaty, crispy, and very flavorful. I'm somewhat of a wing aficionado, and these absolutely delivered. One thing that really stood out was the generous portion of celery, carrots, and blue cheese. Most places treat that as an afterthought, but not here. Everything was fresh and plentiful, which was a nice change. Bravo on that. For entrees, we were told they were out of string fries and corned beef, but pastrami was available as a substitute for Reubens. Not a big deal for our group. I ordered a cheeseburger, no tomato or onion, add lettuce, with steak fries, and asked for it well done. Others at the table ordered a Feener burger, another cheeseburger, mac and cheese, tater tots, a slider, and a Nashville hot chicken wrap. The one issue was that our waiter didn't write anything down, which made us all a little skeptical. Unfortunately, that concern turned out to be valid. One burger came out without cheese, and they were out of American, so it had to be switched to cheddar. My order came out with tomato and onion, no lettuce, and waffle fries instead of steak fries. To their credit, everything was corrected quickly. The runner brought out lettuce right away and swapped the fries, mentioning steak fries take a little longer, but they came out pretty fast. My burger itself was what I'd call medium rare rather than well done, but I was hungry and didn't send it back. Despite the mix-ups, the food across the board was very good, and the portions were large. I was full and couldn't even finish my fries, which almost never happens. Service overall was a mixed bag. The waiter was friendly and acknowledged the mistakes upfront, which I appreciated. Other staff checked in on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had napkins and wet wipes for the wings. Once the errors were announced , they were handled quickly and without any issue. I really think if the order had been written down, this could have easily been a 5 star visit. I'll definitely be back, the wings alone are worth it, and the staff did a good job recovering from the mistakes. Next time, if we're a larger group again, I might suggest writing the order down just to avoid the same issues.
