I was drawn to the Belgian offerings and enjoyed the posters for Belgian ales in the bathroom. Prices are reasonable. Street parking is very convenient. Really nice spot with a curated selection of craft beers, wines and ciders and excellent ambience. This bar was recommended to me through a community craft beer group as a small, relaxed venue where we could enjoy some brews but not have to endure a harsh industrial atmosphere or a lot of rowdy sports fans or college students. We had a great time here! We were greeted and served as soon as we walked in the place and found a perfectly sized table for our group of three to relax and enjoy our beverages. There is some light background music playing, which adds to the atmosphere but doesn't interfere with conversation. I also appreciated the complimentary water station- hydration is important. The ambience includes lots of greenery and beer artwork. Convenient if you are seeing a movie next-door at the Spectrum Theater. Definitely would return here the next time we are in the area. What a fantastic little place! We had a little gathering here last night with some fellow yelpers. I was excited to check this place out, because I love some good craft beer. I took my new mini-growler on its first adventure to DelSup. The party had a few Kranz - Which is a tray of 8-10oz pours of beer ($30, or $25 at happy hour). These were awesome! I like the idea and I think you can also get an assortment, so it is kinda like their idea of a flight. All the beers were tasty and well selected. I also ordered myself an IPA ($6) and filled up my mini-growler with a nice DIPA. The price to fill was the same price as 2 pints of the beer, so not a deal, but a good way to bring some of that hoppy, hazy, delicious stuff back to the house to indulge in comfort. I have a feeling i'm going to be getting some good use out of that little growler. The atmosphere here is really cool, modern yet retro, they have some snacks you can order, some board games, a couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk. The owners here are a young couple who are really down to earth and really love some beer. The women tending the bar was one of the owners and she was super helpful and friendly, she spoke passionately about the beers. We stopped at this local watering hole with beer in mind, but we ended up sampling from all three of their beer/wine/cider choices. The outside signage is a bit small but the GPS app got us to the right place. This is a small but very pleasant bar, very popular with locals, and with an ample selection of local beers and ciders and some wines as well. The bar service was immediate for us. You first order your drinks and then you can sit in the bar or select one of their tables. The ambiance amenities included beautiful greenery in one wall, soft and eclectic music, and a self-serve water station with a bubbler, garafes, and glasses. My better half enjoyed a glass of their Maine Beer Co. Lunch IPA, her mom sampled their Brooklyn Cider semi-sweet cider, and I had a glass of their Jenny & Francois red blend(Syrah/Granache). Do you believe in love at first sight? Delaware Supply is pretty much everything I've been looking for in an evening hang out spot. I can sit with my computer, sip from a glass of craft beer, and nosh on thoughtful bites of great food. Even late on a weeknight. Sure, I didn't try any of the food on my first visit. But the limited menu is stocked with treats from The Cheese Traveler and Berben & Wolff, so it's good stuff. It is a minor mystery why this place feels less like a bar and more like a coffee shop. Is it because three different coffee shops have been in this space over the past ten years? Is it the lighting? The cool vibe of the music? The low key owners who staff the bar? The lack of wait staff? Or maybe it's all the windows? For those who don't like beer, there's wine. For those who don't like wine, there's sparkling juice. For those who don't like sparkling juice, there's coffee too. My only regret was not walking out of Delaware Supply with a sixteen ounce can of the Half Acre Imperial Stout. They have a mini-crowler machine which allows them to fill cans of anything on tap for off-premise enjoyment. Been driving by for months! Made it. So glad Covid+winter isn't keeping us in and away from all the fun. Great attention to the details... beer/wine and snacks. Scored a txcholina bottle to bring home and had some tasty beer. Try a sandwich, great bread. No they don't do flights but the versatile portion sizes led themselves to tasting.... multiple. Had a pineapple sour, Belgian dark and coolship lager. All different, all interesting. Come on in, nice place to sit and watch the traffic go by. The inside is very cool but not open for seating. When it comes to beer lately, I think Stone Temple Pilots nailed it with the hit, "Sour Girl." Since Mother Nature's all, "Winter is Coming," my palate's feeling the pressure to change up it's preferences, opting for perhaps a more seasonably appropriate pour, but after my visit to Delaware Supply (DS) the other night night, my taste buds were reassured that even sours have a dark side. I popped in Friday night for a much-too-quick, pre-flick bev before heading next door to catch a movie at the Spectrum; instead of being lazy and unimaginative and automatically ordering a Nine Pin, Albany's finest hard cider, I asked Colin behind the bar for a rec, and he delivered. Together, we decided I might like a dark sour, a style new to me (full disclosure: never heard of it!), and after a little sample I was more than ready to commit to a bigger pour. I was so excited to try something new for a change! This dark sour was by Freigeist, a German beer house that's been has been a, "valuable torch-bearer for re-identifying the country's more quirky, creative and, in particular, local brewing traditions." I like quirky, and creative, so I think this is the start of something good... DS has a 12-tap beer list and offers a few different size pours: 6oz., 10oz., and 16oz., which is a cool Goldilocks-esque concept you don't see too often at places around here. I may be indecisive, but I love options, so the more the merrier. Lay them on me. DS is coming up on celebrating their second anniversary (in December, congrats!); I've visited a handful of times within the last year, and every time I settle in with a beer and good company, I wonder why I haven't made it one of my solid "go-to" spots when I'm in Albany instead of only hitting it up before a show at Spectrum or dinner at New World, which is my current track record. But times are a changin' for this sour girl who likes the quirky beer. Oh, speaking of tracks, kudos to the in-house DJ! I love to support new businesses and, agreed, the owners/staffers are super-nice. Stopped in here at noon Sunday before a movie- the free wi-if AlbanyFreeNet worked great for me. Coffee was perfect for me- not many choices, but honestly, if you're a real coffee drinker, it just has to be fresh and good, and it was. Same comment re food: limited selection but the grape leaves were terrific. I hope they expand this menu with other healthy choices, maybe even gluten free. Guess I was expecting a variation on the last incarnations, but this place is unique and will be very popular. I didn't have a chance to try the food, but the beer selection and service were all top notch. Some of the more expensive beers are sold in 7 ounce pours, allowing you to taste, without commiting. There's also Yesfolk kombucha, which allows you to have a fancy, fizzy, tasty, drink, without the alcohol content. Looks just like a beer to anyone else. It is so nice to finally have someone fill this space so completely and perfectly. The beer selection is great. The special plates they have are great. And they're very knowledgeable about what is in their dishes if you have any food allergies or food preferences. Yes, they do have some expensive beers on tap - but they also have affordable beers that are delicious as well. They also have some great snacks that can fill you up too, or you can get a few small plates to split with friends and try a little bit of everything. The pretzel plate is a perfectly delicious and affordable pairing to sop up some of the delicious beer they pour. It's a nice treat to split with 2 people and add another plate or two to round things out. The grape leaves are some of the most delicious I've ever tried. And their hummus board is great as well. I'm often nervous about any type of vegan meat and how it will come out - but their vegan pepperoni they source from Berben & Wolff's - and it's so on point and delicious. Highly suggest checking out this place especially before a movie. The beer selection is eclectic and abundant--I love that you can get cans filled to go if you fall in love with something--and the snack selection is a solid accompaniment to good beer and fun games. Score. This is about to be a short review - more complimentarily one might say 'tightly curated' which would be an accurate summation of Delaware Supply. There's a well-established, counter-intuitive psychology finding that more choices do not increase satisfaction; rather, a smaller number of high-value choices is best. That's what DS has done: pick a tight focus, select some excellent options within that focus; and resist the urge to stray. Kudos. So: the beer is great, the staff friendly, the food options OK and clearly intended to not distract from the beer :). I would prefer more comfort - a little more padding and plush to the seats - honestly, but perhaps that too would be a distraction. The time has finally come to offer my review of Delaware Supply. After three visits to the Delaware Avenue location, I can confidently say that this is one of the more exciting businesses to open in Albany in the past year. If you're looking for a raucous bar experience, Delaware Supply is probably not the place to go. In fact, the relaxed atmosphere is what I love most about the place. Ordering drinks at the bar is a breeze, as there is no need to jockey for position to get the attention of the bartender. There is ample seating in the tasting room and plenty of room to spread out. Now that the weather has turned, there are several outdoor seating options as well. The space is inviting, clean, and modern. Although it's décor is no frills, there is a freshness in the simplicity of the room's presentation. The strength of Delaware Supply's beer list is that it's constantly changing. It seems like most of today's tasting rooms double as altars to the coveted IPA and, frankly, it's getting boring. The beer menu at Delaware Supply is diverse, reflecting a host of styles from throughout New York State and (regionally) beyond. Although I feel the price point is maybe a dollar or two too high, I don't mind paying a bit more for something I'm not likely to find anywhere else. In addition to the beer, you can order wine, coffee, and kombucha at the bar. Delaware Supply also has a small food menu with staples like cheese and meat boards, hummus, and pretzels at very reasonable prices. On a recent visit, my group split a cheese board, which came with three cheeses, olives, a couple of spreads, bread, and we added both the smoked duck and capicola, making this a real treat. The owners of Delaware Supply are hospitable and knowledgeable. They work together to facilitate a very kind and bright vibe in the space, part of which can be attributed to the efficiency of the operation. Comfortable, cool little spot. I have been several times and each time they have a different, varied selection of beers and cider on tap. Most recently I had a passionfruit gose, which was excellent. They also have wine, for the non-beer drinkers out there (a category into which I generally place myself, though I have been branching out more as of late, thanks to cool beers like passionfruit gose.) Each time I've been here was delightful. I've always enjoyed their selection of beers. I usually go for whatever DIPA they have. This most recent time, they had this cinnamon and vanilla brown ale that was smooth and tasted just like horchata - good Lord! I regret not taking some home (which you can do, by the way). They'll fill a growler or make cans of the drinks you want to purchase to drink later. There's a deal if you buy a certain amount. The staff is super helpful and one server actually went out of his way to let us know when a table outside became available. There was nothing lacking from our visit to Delaware Supply- not one thing. We stopped for a late bite and to taste some craft beer after seeing a movie next door. We split the cheese and charcuterie plate as well as the mezze plate. Both were delightful. They were a satisfying portion size (served with a generous amount of baguette that was delicious), the quality was excellent, and the choices complimentary and interesting. We tasted a few beers to find the ones we wanted to commit to. Two sizes are offered, which I love. The service is friendly and efficient. The decor is modern and clean. We love it here! We held our son's first birthday party here, a private event for about 40 people. Colin and Lauren were super accommodating and all of our guests raved about the excellent service and atmosphere. All of our guests were able to find beverages that they enjoyed- be it beer, wine, kombucha, coffee or bottled sodas. Many of our guests took cans of beer togo and have since been return customers.
