14,000 mile 48 state food and craft beer road trip stop in Saratoga, NY. My reviews on here are overall positive but I admittedly had one of my worst experiences of my 14,000 mile trip at this spot. I will start by saying that it was an hour before a FIFA World Cup game at mid-afternoon on a weekday. The bar was full and the outdoor seats just over half capacity. To not steal a table for 1 if a crowd came in for the game, I asked for a high top that was by bar that was about to be empty. After waiting 20 minutes to order, it took an additional 45 minutes to receive my Nashville hot chicken fries appetizer. As the photo shows, it had just a drizzle of ranch at most as the fries needed some sort of sauce. But after my food arrived, nobody came over to check on me and I finished them without what I was trying to ask for. On top of that though, I ordered a flight which I believe was around $17. By that point I gave up trying to order a sandwich there and knew that to get my tab I would have to grab it in advance from the bar when I saw the bartender was on a free moment (my server was nowhere to be seen). I walked about 10 feet to the bar to snag my check and came back to table that was entirely bussed including my flight that I only drank about an ounce of each from. So I was charged for the flight despite not being able to drink it. After paying, I asked for a manager at the front table. I waited 7 minutes for them to arrive. I told the manager that my goal was not to post but I explained the situation face to face. They asked for my check and I see just over a month later I was still charged for the flight that was dumped before I was able to drink it. They were not busy enough to be that poor of service but they were super quick to try to rotate tables. This was on June 19 as this review was August 9. Druthers is a reliable brewery/pub/restaurant. They can accommodate anything from small parties to large work gatherings. They have warehouse, dark wood decor. I am not normally a beer drinker but will drink one when I'm at a brewery. The oatmeal stout was delicious with notes of chocolate. I ordered the chicken pot pie. It was a deconstructed version with no crust served in a cast iron skillet. More like a thick soup with bread crumbs on top. The flavor was very good. The Mac and Cheese is rich, flavorful and delicious also in a skillet. Others had tacos, salad and Gobbler sandwiches. All were praised as being filling and tasty. I'm eying the Gobbler for next time. Regular beer drinkers can comment more on the different types that they have. read more

We've been to Druthers twice and both times were decent. This last time we had to wait quite a bit to be seated and it was disappointing that servers walked by us several times and didn't acknowledge us. When we were finally seated, the server was pretty attentive. I had a salad with blackened salmon--it was good, not spectacular but I had it before and it was good enough to get it again. My husband had the gobbler and he enjoyed it. My daughter's veggie burger was just ok. As far as beer selection, one thing I like is both my husband and I can find something we like. I prefer a sour and I enjoyed a blonde beer and he had a hoppy ipa. I cannot recall the names. read more

Bad service. Slow. Disinterested waitress. Ok. That happens. No big deal. Typically at a brewery you get decent food - usually a scratch kitchen or at least a lot of fresh stuff. The "buttermilk chicken sandwich" was 3 sh*tty out of a bad bag frozen chicken tenders. Seriously. Deeply disappointed - buyer beware Boneless wings ? Out of. A bag Fries ? Same. Druther's is knocking it out of the park. We visited the Albany location out on Broadway recently. It was totally decked out in Christmas holiday gorgeousness. As one of our friend's we were out with perfectly stated, "It's, at once, too many decorations, but also, just right." You have to see it to understand. It's beautiful and just put us immediately into the holiday mode. You can choose one of their own craft beers or get a cocktail (they have a full bar.) It was really hopping when we went. It's a super large space and we thought maybe we wouldn't need a reservation but, I never leave such to chance. Good thing I didn't because we needed it. They were slammed and doing a great job managing the rush. Each and every staff member was cool, pleasant, attentive, and provided excellent customer service. Kudos to them. That's not always easy. They seemed to be happy where they work - this translates often to the service you receive. We shared a couple of their pizzas (excellent flavor and crispy crusts), I had the Drutherbird Fried Chicken sandwich (delicious), and we shared some house fries that came with dipping sauces. I stopped here on a visit to Albany recently. It's a nice place. I ordered the BBQ Mac & Cheese, which seemed to be their way of using up the overly fatty cuts of pork. In fact, there was very little meat in there whatsoever, but there was a ton of pork fat. Not really what I was looking for. I washed my pork fat down with the Uncurious DDHH NEIPA, which was very tasty. If I'm ever at a Druther's again, I'll make sure to eat somewhere beforehand, and then come for the beer. Meagan was an excellent bar made and server. She made recommendations and engaged in conversation and was very attentive to our needs. Atmosphere on a Saturday morning was light but lively. The buffalo chicken eggrolls were excellent crispy flavorful and the greenery was certainly edible with the chunky blue cheese. I would recommend the five or six option tasting if you are adventurous. You can also ask for a taste before you order a pint. There's seasonal Options. Just understand that some are only available in cans. This is a long-standing brewery, food service and beers are consistent and delicious. You know you're in good hands when the bar has a water rinse at the top because so many establishments don't properly rinse their glasses so that you get residue of the chemical wash which takes the beer I will be back and bring people back here. read more

This is a great place try different beers. I usually don't like beer but I tried their flight option which was such a great deal of 6 types for $18. I enjoyed all of the flavors I tried (Passion Fruit Double Dare, Oatmeal Stout, Fruit Pact: Quad Berry, Saratoga Vibes, Fruit Pact: POG, Cherry Bomb) but Saratoga Vibes which reminded me of wine and Fruit Pact: Quad Berry which reminded me of juice were my favorites. This place is like a warm hug. It's in an industrial area with not much else going on. It's so quiet and unexpecting outside and then when you walk in it's a huge place with a big bar, wood everywhere, floor to ceiling glass walls to see in the brewery, and a central couch area with a fire. Many many tables, great place for a family or friends catching up. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I had the imperial raspberry and my friend had the guava passion fruit sour. We both loved the beer. Mine was very chocolatey but not over powering. I had the cranberry Gorgonzola salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a nice crisp on the outside. Big portion. I also really liked the walnuts which were whole and big and coated in a light sugary glaze. The salad was packed with cranberry, walnuts and cheese and it was not sopping in dressing. It was just perfect! My friend had the fried chicken sandwich and really liked it. The fries came out hot and crispy. Average prices, good beer, tasty food and a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were passing through Albany and looking for a place to have lunch. Everything about our trip to Druthers was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and the food was out of site. My son got the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese which I snagged a few bites of. I usually don't take photos of our food but it was just too good not to snap a pic. The cheese was oooey gooey and it had just enough kick to it. I especially loved the crispy topping. My salad was good but the shrimp on top were next level! Really large shrimp and an abundant amount of them, cooked to perfection. Next time we're driving through Albany, Druthers will be a destination stop! read more

We found this spot doing research for a place to stop between our trip home to Philly from New Hampshire. I am so glad my wife found this place. I don't know his name but the bartender was great! Patient and attentive, pleasant and accommodating. (7-17-25/late lunch). Our food and drink were also fantastic. We got the Angry Bee pizza (a little sweet and a little spicy) and the waffle fry nachos (perfect kind of nachos for those of us with adult braces). My NEIPA (uncurious) and my wife's Cool as a Cuc were both delicious a d refreshing. At the end of a trip it's always nice to find a fun place to stop to extend that vacation just a bit farther! Loved this place. First visit. Light snowing outside, inside fire and sitting area was so inviting, right in front as you enter. I took my place at the bar, just a cool, inviting place. I think the bar chairs are about 1-2" low...I survived. Beer menu was great, I enjoyed a brown ale and two IPA, just delicious. The tomato soup with "grilled cheese sticks" was exceptional. Great space!! Loved the atmosphere on the patio and the beers was decent! Would have been a better rating but the Big Mac roll things I had were pretty awful. The other food we ordered, tacos and cheese dips with pretzels were all solid. It's hard to find a decent patio in Toga that's not in a parking lot or on the street. This patio is so nice, love all the greenery. The service was good. Lots of servers and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We were greeted (well not really) by a rather grumpy hostess who seemed annoyed that we were there. Thankfully someone from the bar saw us and was super nice and sat us at a 4 top in the bar area. The building itself is super cool and has a super comfortable chill vibe. Our server, Jake was incredible. He was personable, attentive and seemed to really enjoy his job. The food was good but the beer was great! We had the tuna nachos as an app. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich and I had the falafel burger (yum!) the ingredients were bright and fresh. I don't get to Albany very often, but when I do, I usually stop by for the bbq mac n cheese. I was surprised to see the addition of the games. There were a bunch of children playing quite loudly. I felt like I was at a Chucky Cheese. Not the atmosphere I am looking for at a brewery. Not sure if I should blame the brewery for becoming a family restaurant, or today's parents for bringing the kids to a brewery. This review is specifically for the management at the Albany location. We overheard that the new ask of wait staff is to give the guest sand timers found in children's games, and if the guests want faster service, they can flip over the timer. Should the time run out before the request is filled, the table gets free fries. This is so degrading to your employees who are clearly already understaffed and trying to make operations work in quite a large facility. Allow their service to be what brings people back, not the opportunity for patrons to gamify their experience with the expense coming from treating your wait staff like their servants who are on a time crunch. Was also told those who do not ask about dessert following the meals are written up? If these are the management tactics that guests do get to hear about, what toxic issues are also behind the scenes? Get it together, or ownership needs to find new managers to keep their staff more comfortable. read more

This was my 3rd visit and I've never been disappointed. Parking can be a pain but it's worth it. We were seated right away although I wouldn't have minded waiting because the waiting area is so comfy. My husband and I each had one of their beers and both were yummy! I had the carne asada fries and yum, everything I could want: fries, steak, jalapeños, cheese, some kind of a avocado drizzle. It was from the appetizer menu but obviously very large so I had it for 2 meals. My husband had the peanut butter burger and fries and I had to sneak a bite. Very comfortable restaurant. It's large and spacious and very cozy. The lighting is warm and there is a great fireplace in the middle. The food is pretty good. I've liked every meal I've had there. The menu is pretty run of the mill brewery fare, but they do it well. I was expecting the burgers to be more exciting since that was something I remember and love about the Saratoga location. After a confusing and stressful way a reservation for 6 of us was handled, initially, by some staff, situation was resolved. Upon contacting Druthers customer service online to express my concerns for myself and dinner companions, Chris responded immediately and handled the concerns promptly and appropriately. He was so nice and professional, just as anyone would expect, but not always receive in today's world! Great beer and food, as in my previous review.  Service is so so.  I've eaten dine in at the Albany location and the food is great.  Service needs some work. I recently ordered online due to COVID.  I ordered delivery and when I checked out they said, "Thank you, your order will be ready for pick up in 20 minutes."   I was like, "What!"  Especially since I was not planning to drive anywhere.  Imagine my frustration in an expected delivery order that I now had to get in my car and go pick up. When I got there I realized their delivery service provider must have been at fault as the lovely ladies at the front counter had serious frustration on their face, and told me they were overwhelmed with pick up orders. The menu is so limited. My husband & I ordered the Mexican street corn dip as an appetizer. Chips tasted stale. I ordered the beef tacos & my husband had the chicken sandwich which were ok. My first drink was the spicy margarita and it was delicious the 2nd one I ordered was terrible - 2 different bartenders made the drinks. Sadly the overall experience won't have is returning.
