    The gobbler.
    Michelle C.

We've been to Druthers twice and both times were decent. This last time we had to wait quite a bit to be seated and it was disappointing that servers walked by us several times and didn't acknowledge us. When we were finally seated, the server was pretty attentive. I had a salad with blackened salmon--it was good, not spectacular but I had it before and it was good enough to get it again. My husband had the gobbler and he enjoyed it. My daughter's veggie burger was just ok. As far as beer selection, one thing I like is both my husband and I can find something we like. I prefer a sour and I enjoyed a blonde beer and he had a hoppy ipa. I cannot recall the names.

Druther's is knocking it out of the park. We visited the Albany location out on Broadway recently. It was totally decked out in Christmas holiday gorgeousness. As one of our friend's we were out with perfectly stated, "It's, at once, too many decorations, but also, just right." You have to see it to understand. It's beautiful and just put us immediately into the holiday mode. You can choose one of their own craft beers or get a cocktail (they have a full bar.) It was really hopping when we went. It's a super large space and we thought maybe we wouldn't need a reservation but, I never leave such to chance. Good thing I didn't because we needed it. They were slammed and doing a great job managing the rush. Each and every staff member was cool, pleasant, attentive, and provided excellent customer service. Kudos to them. That's not always easy. They seemed to be happy where they work - this translates often to the service you receive. We shared a couple of their pizzas (excellent flavor and crispy crusts), I had the Drutherbird Fried Chicken sandwich (delicious), and we shared some house fries that came with dipping sauces. You will not go wrong with Druthers.

I stopped here on a visit to Albany recently. It's a nice place. I ordered the BBQ Mac & Cheese, which seemed to be their way of using up the overly fatty cuts of pork. In fact, there was very little meat in there whatsoever, but there was a ton of pork fat. Not really what I was looking for. I washed my pork fat down with the Uncurious DDHH NEIPA, which was very tasty. If I'm ever at a Druther's again, I'll make sure to eat somewhere beforehand, and then come for the beer. Otherwise, the service was good. Our waiter was on top of everything, and seemed like a nice guy.

This is a great place try different beers. I usually don't like beer but I tried their flight option which was such a great deal of 6 types for $18. I enjoyed all of the flavors I tried (Passion Fruit Double Dare, Oatmeal Stout, Fruit Pact: Quad Berry, Saratoga Vibes, Fruit Pact: POG, Cherry Bomb) but Saratoga Vibes which reminded me of wine and Fruit Pact: Quad Berry which reminded me of juice were my favorites. Oatmeal Stout has an espresso martini vibe to it.

We were passing through Albany and looking for a place to have lunch. Everything about our trip to Druthers was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and the food was out of site. My son got the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese which I snagged a few bites of. I usually don't take photos of our food but it was just too good not to snap a pic. The cheese was oooey gooey and it had just enough kick to it. I especially loved the crispy topping. My salad was good but the shrimp on top were next level! Really large shrimp and an abundant amount of them, cooked to perfection. Next time we're driving through Albany, Druthers will be a destination stop!

Great vibes! Open and airy. Delicious burgers and great beer! Had to leave with merch cause the glass my beer came in was SO cool. Don't choose the greens vs. the fries like I did though. The greens tasted yucky and their fries are yummy!

This place is like a warm hug. It's in an industrial area with not much else going on. It's so quiet and unexpecting outside and then when you walk in it's a huge place with a big bar, wood everywhere, floor to ceiling glass walls to see in the brewery, and a central couch area with a fire. Many many tables, great place for a family or friends catching up. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I had the imperial raspberry and my friend had the guava passion fruit sour. We both loved the beer. Mine was very chocolatey but not over powering. I had the cranberry Gorgonzola salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had a nice crisp on the outside. Big portion. I also really liked the walnuts which were whole and big and coated in a light sugary glaze. The salad was packed with cranberry, walnuts and cheese and it was not sopping in dressing. It was just perfect! My friend had the fried chicken sandwich and really liked it. The fries came out hot and crispy. Average prices, good beer, tasty food and a warm and inviting atmosphere. This place is great and I would definitely come back!

Loved this place. First visit. Light snowing outside, inside fire and sitting area was so inviting, right in front as you enter. I took my place at the bar, just a cool, inviting place. I think the bar chairs are about 1-2" low...I survived. Beer menu was great, I enjoyed a brown ale and two IPA, just delicious. The tomato soup with "grilled cheese sticks" was exceptional. Finished with a Cubano and fries. Uh, box please. Sandwich was enormous! Well done team! Thank for the friendly bar service!

Great space!! Loved the atmosphere on the patio and the beers was decent! Would have been a better rating but the Big Mac roll things I had were pretty awful. The other food we ordered, tacos and cheese dips with pretzels were all solid. It's hard to find a decent patio in Toga that's not in a parking lot or on the street. This patio is so nice, love all the greenery. The service was good. Lots of servers and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I would go back again for sure and would recommend this place for sure.

We were greeted (well not really) by a rather grumpy hostess who seemed annoyed that we were there. Thankfully someone from the bar saw us and was super nice and sat us at a 4 top in the bar area. The building itself is super cool and has a super comfortable chill vibe. Our server, Jake was incredible. He was personable, attentive and seemed to really enjoy his job. The food was good but the beer was great! We had the tuna nachos as an app. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich and I had the falafel burger (yum!) the ingredients were bright and fresh. Our favorite beer was the "Uncurious" (So hazy!) We wanted to grab some t shirts so we had to encounter the hostess again, but we powered through. Overall great brewery and we loved Jake!

They came free with my Nashville fried chicken sandwich order. They do great deep fryer food. My sandwich was all sorts of crispy, spicy and tangy fun. The space, however, has changed a lot. I remember when it was the Pump Station several years ago. The late owner, Neil Evan, was a fixture there and his seafood Mac & Cheese was something to rave about. By contrast, Common Roots has a more limited menu and plainer furniture. A lot of pizza varieties, tacos, salads and burgers. Decent bar food. By contrast, Common Roots flagship in Glens Falls appears to have a better menu with more variety. I generally eat healthy. I can't eat bar food regularly. The meal was great for a Friday night out. There's also a very good non-alcoholic beverage and drinks menu. I was happy to see all of varieties of stout. The snowy stout was delicious. So was the kombucha. The bar where I sat was clean, sleek and modern. The bartender, who took my order was helpful with suggestions. The main dining area looked a bit sparse for 8pm on a Friday night but the business is still relatively new. I'd like to see an expanded menu with at least a few more healthy choices and some family-friendly selections. Meanwhile, I'll know where to go if I get a craving for awesome freshly made potato chips.

I ordered a sour beer of raspberry-lime. It was decent but something was missing I still can't determine. My starter were house made chips with their blue cheese dipping sauce. They arrived almost instantaneously and were well done, which I appreciated. The dipping sauce is so thick, it's more like a spread with some intense flavor. My smashburger arrived, which looked great until I realized the burger had been smashed to the point of being paper thin, making the edges crispy. This made for a "bread sandwich" that was dry until I got to the sauce and kimchi in the absolute center, which was quite good. There was no side salad option, so I went with the German potato salad. It was over-seasoned to the point where I had to stop eating. The runner also brought over fries, which I hadn't ordered, but he left them on my table anyway. They were also well done and tasted good. However, I was "potatoed out" at that point. Many other diners had pizzas and they looked great. Clearly, they knew something I didn't and I should have tried one of those instead. I couldn't relay this to the server because he kept disappearing for long periods of time and never happened to see me hold up a hand for help. He was kind but not attentive by any means. After fifteen minutes of waiting, he did reappear and finally got my check. Common Roots could be an amazing place to dine and hangout but they've got some work to do. Five stars for the atmosphere and two stars for food and service.

This was my first time at Beer Bones Bar and Grill. We went as a group of six and made a 6pm reservation, which turned out to be a good call because the place filled up quickly. It's on the smaller side and definitely gets busy. One thing to note, there is a 3% upcharge if you pay by credit card. It's posted on the door, but easy to miss if you're not looking for it. We started with pretzels and mozzarella sticks, both were very good. From there, it's clear wings are a big focus here. They have a ton of sauce options. We ordered a wing platter and tried Stebo, garlic parm, moonshine, and bourbon BBQ. The Stebo was the clear favorite for everyone, with the bourbon BBQ as my personal second. I'd definitely be interested in trying their honey BBQ next time. The wings themselves were excellent, large, meaty, crispy, and very flavorful. I'm somewhat of a wing aficionado, and these absolutely delivered. One thing that really stood out was the generous portion of celery, carrots, and blue cheese. Most places treat that as an afterthought, but not here. Everything was fresh and plentiful, which was a nice change. Bravo on that. For entrees, we were told they were out of string fries and corned beef, but pastrami was available as a substitute for Reubens. Not a big deal for our group. I ordered a cheeseburger, no tomato or onion, add lettuce, with steak fries, and asked for it well done. Others at the table ordered a Feener burger, another cheeseburger, mac and cheese, tater tots, a slider, and a Nashville hot chicken wrap. The one issue was that our waiter didn't write anything down, which made us all a little skeptical. Unfortunately, that concern turned out to be valid. One burger came out without cheese, and they were out of American, so it had to be switched to cheddar. My order came out with tomato and onion, no lettuce, and waffle fries instead of steak fries. To their credit, everything was corrected quickly. The runner brought out lettuce right away and swapped the fries, mentioning steak fries take a little longer, but they came out pretty fast. My burger itself was what I'd call medium rare rather than well done, but I was hungry and didn't send it back. Despite the mix-ups, the food across the board was very good, and the portions were large. I was full and couldn't even finish my fries, which almost never happens. Service overall was a mixed bag. The waiter was friendly and acknowledged the mistakes upfront, which I appreciated. Other staff checked in on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had napkins and wet wipes for the wings. Once the errors were announced , they were handled quickly and without any issue. I really think if the order had been written down, this could have easily been a 5 star visit. I'll definitely be back, the wings alone are worth it, and the staff did a good job recovering from the mistakes. Next time, if we're a larger group again, I might suggest writing the order down just to avoid the same issues.

We met up for 50 cent wings on Sunday. Yeah, that's right, what is this 2006? 50 cent wings, and they are no joke! Big plump and juicy wings cooked perfectly crispy and generously tossed in sauce with was was described as house-made ranch or blue cheese dressing? My friends really enjoyed them. I had the fried vegetable gyoza and I can't say I've ever had them deep fried before, more like steamed or pan-fried, but this was a game changer! I was really looking forward to the Imposter cheezy jalapeno bites but our server informed us they were out. I love that they have several vegan options on the menu. At the Yelp Event we were fortunate enough to try the vegan pizza and it was honestly one of the best vegan pizzas around the Capital Region. They use Imposter plant-based cheese which is a local product made by a small business in Troy. I love that small businesses are supporting each other like this. The beer is excellent too, we were looking forward to having the red ale since I spoke so fondly of it but it was tapped out. I had a really good mango IPA which hazy doesn't even begin to describe! It's really nice inside and on Sunday it had just become warm enough by mid afternoon, they opened the big garage door and let some fresh air in which was no nice after such a long winter. I think I can speak for my coworkers and I that we will be coming back again soon so please keep those vegan options stocked up!

So the next time I scheduled a brewery crawl in the area, I made sure to come here. I submitted a business page update regarding the rebranding, but at this point, I don't know whether Yelp will simply rename the existing page or create a new one for Fallside. For the time being, my update goes under Bye-I. The new space is great. I had no idea how much bigger it was until I walked a ways inside, and I was equally impressed by the cool artwork. The beer is, of course, as tasty as before. We seated ourselves in the back to enjoy our pours, and within a couple of minutes, a server dropped off food menus and attended to us the rest of the evening. Had I read my recently obtained copy of the March-April copy of local "True Brew," I would have known that several of their dishes were featured in it, specifically their beef stew and mac & cheese. But I had the Chicken Caprese sandwich, which came with steak fries perfectly cooked and obviously cut in their own kitchen. We were checked on frequently, and as we were finishing up, their Friday evening music session was starting. Food and drink here are reasonably priced, and I feel the quality of both were just as good, or perhaps better, than what you get at "those larger breweries" along Broadway. Of course I'll still patronize them all, but for me, Fallside has the edge in this part of town right now.

I walked the half block from my hotel room and saw the lighted sign on the building drawing be to City Beer Hall. The bar is old school wood, long tables, and people generally having a good time. I was alone so chose the bar for sitting because that is more convenient for me and the wait staff. The beer menu was long with a few regionals new to me. Too many sours though for my taste, but those are popular now. I am not going to talk about the beers available because those will surely change by the time you read this. I ordered a beer and checked out the food menu. There were some good looking items on the menu, I really wanted a good pizza after my earlier airport pizza debacle, but a whole pizza was too much for one guy. I discussed the food choices with my friendly bartender and settled on the chicken nuggets and a side of fries. The nuggets are hard breaded from thighs and pretty good. The fries were crispy, well seasoned, and overly abundant. Overall the meal was great! It was Thursday night and they had a trivia-like game that was related to Family Feud so I played that. Might have stayed a little later than I should have but the beer was good. I was looking at the beer refrigerator and saw Fiddlehead IPA and asked my bartender about it. He was not really keen on it but that is the best beer they had there, but that is one really good beer. Later I notice that was the beer they were giving you if you ordered the $8 beer and a shot, which is an excellent value! There was some kind of drama this night. There was a lady who first tried to order Jager Bombs for her table and the bartender told her sorry we don't do those so she ordered Tito's shots instead. Well this ended about how you would expect with her losing a credit card and blaming everyone in sight for her problems. The bartender and manager were S-tier professionals managing her and keeping the food and beer flowing to the rest of us. Guys, thank you for your service! The City Beer Hall fits the bill. Located on Howard Street, the City Beer Hall has the local hangout vibe for professionals in town like me and locals wanting a beer and a pizza and fun times. The building at one point housed the city's old telephone company, and now is a cool pizza bar joint with a speakeasy that wasn't open when I went. The large room that houses the bar and long communal tables with high ceilings and large windows is like a Biergarten that is works great for happy hours and evening hangouts. Pizza wise, I was pleased with their Hot Honey Pizza that balances sweet, savory, and spicy flavors between its delicious crust, pepperoni, creamy ricotta, tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil, and a lovely drizzle of hot honey. I enjoyed the pizza with a Ommegang Blueberry Falls that was a "Blueberry Kolsch" whose crisp and slightly sweet flavors balanced well against the spicy and savory I was noshing. The only downside was I found the service behind the bar to be a bit slow and distracting from conversations with other customers. I felt I was forgotten until I finally flagged for the check.
