This place has become my usual spot for lunch when I'm in Albany area. There's parking lot next to brewery. I had raspberry and dragon fruit hard seltzer. It is very refreshing. Not overly sweet. I could smell the raspberry when I was drinking it. It has vibrant raspberry color too. My favorite dish here is the chili. Not too salty but well seasoned. Perfect consistency. Brussel sprouts are great appetizer. Crispy, not bitter as it is drizzled with balsamic vinegar. My husband had Reuben sandwich. It's good but greasy. You order the food and drink at the bar area. You are given a buzzer that you put on the table. The waiter will come to deliver the food. There's misunderstanding about our salad order. We ordered regular salad but were given a side dish size. The waiter quickly told the kitchen to make regular size salad. read more

I'm a self proclaimed craft beer connoisseur and can confidently say that Fidens is churning out the best beer you can buy. I've traveled far and wide to try top tier and highly rated breweries and give Fidens the edge over the competition. Pair that with amazing food, friendly staff, and a super cool brew pub gets Fidens an easy 5 star rating. To get to this brewery is a 3 1/2 hour drive from my house. I was on my way home from Montreal and planned a visit as it's right off the NY State Thruway. Of course, when I mentioned to my local beer lovers that I was there, in poured the orders for cans to go (glad I brought 2 coolers). Now I'm enjoying my bounty at home until someone makes the trip and asks me for my order. Anyway, the vibe was really cool and the food was fantastic. They have rotating daily specials in addition to the regular menu and we happened to be there to experience the Octoberfest menu as well as taco Thursday. They also have a wide selection of craft beers on draft only available in the tap room. I tried several and all were "wow" beers. Fidens Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Colonie, New York in September 2019. It was founded by longtime friends Steve Parker, Tim Pierce, and Michael Carter. The three grew up in Saranac and had careers as a gym teacher, an accountant, and a financial adviser, respectively. After doing well at homebrewing, the trio decided to open their own brick & mortar brewery without any assistance from outside investors. For their business, they chose the name "Fidens" (Latin for "trusting", "courage" or "resoluteness") to reflect the courage and fearlessness they knew they were going to need to open their brewery. Their original location at 10 Walker Way in Colonie featured a four-barrel brew system and a small taproom. Parker served as the head brewer. Fidens quickly developed a reputation for producing some of the best hazy IPAs in the country. They soon outgrew their modest location. In July 2023, they opened an 11,000-square-foot brewpub in Albany's warehouse district. The new location features 24 draft lines and a full kitchen run by executive chef Josh Herring. Fidens' Colonie location is now used exclusively as a production and canning facility. I recently visited Fidens for lunch with both of my young sons. I have heard nothing but tremendous things about Fidens for a few years and was eager to cross them off of my brewery bucket list. The taproom is spacious, inviting and very family-friendly. I scanned through the draft menu and decided to order a pour of "Fear Is the Thief" (Double New England IPA). It was absolutely amazing; a creamy IPA bursting with notes of citrus and tropical fruit! For food, I had the "Chicken Bacon Ranch" (grilled chicken breast, crispy bacon, house ranch, cheddar & provolone on a toasted hoagie roll, served w/ Fidens chips & pickles), my older son had the "Kids Hot Dog" (beef hot dog served w/ French fries), and my younger son had the "Chicken Tenders & Fries" (24-hr brined and double-battered served w/ house-made ketchup & honey mustard). The food was just as fantastic as the beer! Before leaving, I also enjoyed pours of "DDH Jasper with Eggers Special" (Double New England IPA) and a hand-pulled "Eugene's Axe" (Double New England IPA). Fidens certainly lived up to the hype. If I can do 3.5 stars I would. The brewery was nice, you come in, sit wherever and go to the order area when ready. They give you a pager and you pick up the food when ready. The beer (Ddh highlights of scenery ) was very good. Tasty IPA. The food for me was just ok. The double patty smashed burger looked like the size of a McDonald cheeseburger. I will say it tasted better than a McDonald cheeseburger especially with the added garlic aoli. The fries tasted like they been sitting for some time. The wings were good and meaty. I travelled 1.5 hrs to visit. It would probably be a one time visit, but if I see their beers locally I would definitely pick some up. read more

Outstanding beer and food with plenty of space and fun for a large group. We rolled in with 12 and had the whole back area with shuffleboard to ourselves on Saturday 6pm. Tasty big tenders and fries, burgers, wings, pretzel, etc. A much needed bright brewery for the area. read more

Been to Fiden's multiple times. Let's just say, other establishments should come in and take notes. Besides the great beer, the food menu is good and the service is excellent. The establishment is very clean and specious. We never had an issue finding a table. Love the food ordering system, order, pay and pick up your food when it's done. Smooth process. After a long 3 hour drive, we finally made it to our first brewery of the day, Fidens! I've been so excited to finally try the infamous brewery. Parking was easy at 11am on a Saturday. They have a small lot. When we left a few hours later, it was full. I think they have street parking for more parking. On this day, it was about 100 degrees outside. Already they had the AC PUMPING. I was actually freezing lol The inside is absolutely beautiful. Great photographs of their beers are on a lot of the walls amongst murals. I really loved the space. We sat at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. We tried a lot of the IPAs (pictures attached). A big selling point is their on site kitchen. If you are at the bar, you don't have to wait in the line. I got the Deviled Eggs, which change occasionally. These were a spicy BBQ flavor and they were way too spicy. I also got the Steak and Cheese which was really good. Wow!!!! Highly recommend visiting this brewery it's fantastic. Walk into a magical room with twinkling lights and onward to a two story room with a happy greeting from the bartender. Many beverage choices, not just beer. Also a lot of non alcohol choices. Service is fast! The beer is fantastic and the food menu had so many choices. Opted for the cheese Philly steak sandwich, chicken wings and salad. The wings were some of the best I have ever had. The salad was fresh, crisp, great dressing. Fidens is in a super cool building that offers multi level dining. It's usually busy when we go, but the staff is very attentive. It's definitely a family friendly. They've got a pretty decent sized beer list, and they've expanded to include more than IPAs (in the beginning they were IPA heavy. They also have cocktails, but we just came for beer. Finally made it to Fidens . Only a 3hr ride for their the farmer and Eugene's Axe. I took this to go. I sat at the bar and ordered Endlessness of the stars with coffee and coconut ABV 13%. Sssooooo good. Bartenders were very friendly and the ambience was welcoming. I love the rustic decor and festive. Place was full. Fidens is an interesting place. You sit wherever you would like. You go to the bar to order (so we always try and find a seat at the bar). You have to go to a separate counter for the food. You scan a QR code. I wish they actually had servers instead of runners. If you're with one other person or by yourself, you run the risk of losing your spot to have a drink at. It feels chaotic. The food is delicious. The beer is delicious. It's a bright warehouse inside with industrial design. They have put TV's in recently for sports. You can purchase their beer there as well. Not kid friendly, but they are friendly to kids if that makes sense. There are some arcade games in the back that I noticed when I used the ladies room. read more

Heard alot of hype about craft brewery in Albany so we stopped in for a beer and a bite. Parking is very difficult and I was dropped at the entrance so my date could park down the side street. The entrance is much different than the prior Vintage wine bar and the interior is very dark with bright artwork. We ordered two IPAs served in 12 ounce tulip glasses. This order with 20 percent tip ran $22! Then we ordered a Cuban sandwich with dressed salad and poutine from the counter. I have to say the Cuban was dry and lacked flavor. I asked for some additional mustard hoping to save the sandwich fail and was asked to pay $2 for the condiment. The food order with gratuity had cost $42 before purchasing the mustard.I don't mind spending money on superior products but we realized this brewery was more of a luxury than a local beer spot to meet friends every week. I had heard many good thing about Fidens from some Yelpers and other friends, and I was excited to visit. The visit lived up to expectations. You have plenty of seating options and a wide variety of beers from which to choose. Their Deeper Purpose Imperial Stout, with its hints of pistachio and vanilla, is very likely going to be my favorite beer in the Capital District for a very long time. My drinking companion asked one of the staff for a recommendation of which IPA he would like, given his preferences, and that suggestion was also spot on. Food is available here, of which we did not partake this time. Many of their beers are also available to take home as well. If you're driving there, parking may be difficult during busy times, so prepare for a little bit of a walk or paid parking. But it's worth it. read more

What a gorgeous new spot! I see myself coming here over and over again. It's a perfect new addition to the growing warehouse district! A huge open space, plenty of tables, gorgeous natural light. The bar is huge with a loft above it which really just adds to how cool this space is. The beer menu is as expected, flooded with heavy and hazy DIPAs, with a few other selections. If IPAs are your thing, this is the place! The Farmer DIPA was super dank and hazy and delicious. I wish I could have bought cans of it. And yes, they sell cans too! At $5.75 per can, the price is steep but totally worth it. The food was awesome. They are doing it right here. You can tell everything is homemade, down to the sauces. We ordered a selection of fried snacks and they were all delicious. Stand outs for me were the curry wings and the cheese curds. The wings, the sauce was sweet and savory with a punch of curry. It was glorious and crave worthy. The blue cheese, oh my. The house made blue cheese was stellar and worth getting an order of wings for. The cheese curds came in a gigantic portion. It's been a while since I came here. I think it's been a month since my visit and I still think about one of the beers here. I forgot what it was but I remember grapefruit was in the description. I am by far not a beer drinker, but that one made it on my memorable list. The place is spacious. Lots of plants in the front of the house and it creates this tropical vibe on a hot day. They have water stations for self serve and plenty of room to walk and wander and possible stumble. The service is like a well oiled machine. You order the drinks from the main bar and you can order food at the food area and they bring it to your table. I enjoyed my experience here especially when it had a group of 7. read more

Fantastic and huge venue, filled on a Saturday afternoon before a snowstorm with folks enjoying their beers and bar food. Ambience is hip industrial. Lots of seating choices including a wraparound bar, round tables to fit a crowd and a number of two- and four-tops. Menu is elevated bar food; I observed orders of burgers and tacos which looked generous and nicely presented. I had already paid for my beers to go, so was an observer rather than active participant. The beers on tap appear to be pretty much the same as those in the cans with the exception of a column of guest beers; you will pay $6-8 for a 12 ounce glass vs $5.75 for the 16 ounce can to go but the setting is worth it. And about those beers: I had ordered six DIPAs (double IPA) in cans which I enjoyed over the next few days. The chief characteristic of each was what I call "breadiness"'; the beer had an (imaginary) chew and texture like a nice slice of sourdough. Dense and hazy in other words. The hops were way too understated for me but I'd happily sip this beer on a future visit to the brewery. read more

We were excited to visit their then newly-opened tap room while on summer vacation in the Adirondacks and it did not disappoint. The beer alone is worth a visit, but Fidens has gone above and beyond. The staff was super-friendly and welcoming. They have every right to be elitest and arrogant, but in actually are the opposite of that. They don't have to have good food, but they do. Went to Fiden's in Albany recently. I thought it was a little weird that they opened up right next to Wolf's Biergarten. That's like having 2 pizzerias next to each other like in Troy, I love pizza on 4th Street, but whatever. It's a fairly spacious place, seems like they put some bucks into it, and the prices of their food and beer make me feel like they're paying the build cost with the high priced offerings. My west coast ipa was $9.50, yikes! They had a bunch of beer on tap and a good amount of beer in cans as well. The beer in cans have to be purchased as 4 packs, no single cans. Fiden's is known for their New England IPA's (NEIPA) most of all, from what I've heard over the years. I'm not a fan of that style, it's too sweet, but to each their own. They have numerous other styles as well, and I was happy to see they had a West Coast IPA! The difference between the NEIPA and West Coast is there is actually bitterness in the West Coast IPA, which is what I want. What I tasted though in the beer was that it was pretty similar to a NEIPA in flavor except that they added a bittering hop to it. I tasted the over hopped NEIPA flavor that you get in many of the beers of that style from breweries. It might be some background vegetal flavor, and it's not my preference. The beer had a slickness, some kind of character to it that might have been from possible water modifications, can't be sure. Maybe calcium chloride or something. Brewer's mess around with the water profiles often when brewing the NEIPA style. Anyway, for a West Coast IPA, it wasn't doing it for me. My girlfriend got a pilsner, which had a nice biscuity flavor to it. I should've tried a stout, I've heard they brew a tasty one. We also ordered some food and were very pleased with the chicken fingers! They brine the chicken and the result was a really juicy chicken finger with a nice crunchy crust. They offer 2 dipping sauces from a selection of 8 or so and $2 extra if you want more. We got beer cheese and a Big Mac sauce one forgot what that sauce was called. We'd definitely get that again. I ordered their grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was really dry. Could not have been brined with how dry that was. I took one bite and sent it back. Just because it's grilled and not fried doesn't mean it should be dried out. I got some hot buffalo wings instead, which were pretty good. They're breaded and I do not prefer that on a wing. My fault for not seeing the description of lightly breaded under the wings section on the menu. I think Hooters does that too. We'd be back and get the chicken fingers again and I would also try to get the 48 hour brined fried chicken sandwich in the future, though it's like $20, yeesh, prices of restaurants are getting out of hand. read more
