This spot is straight outta my Pinterest board: specialty cocktails, fire pits, couches, dim lighting, charcuterie, s'mores dip, a novelty wine wall experience. Fair warning, everything was good, but for the price tag it's really the experience you are paying for. Attended a party in one of their private rooms. Furniture is a little too big for the room, making it a little tight. Also wished they had a server solely dedicated to us because I didn't feel like our server came around enough. Overall, worth the trip at least once! read more

Wow! Decor and night life, chic #af. This place is a night on the town with the possibility of popping over to the casino or being the all night spot. They have a large seating area with a variety of table tops. It's intimate and trendy. There's also a huge outside area (heated), that people were thriving in even though it was only 10 degrees out. The menu is broad and not your usual chain supply. If you are a picky eater you might have a hard time. Most of the food is in large enough portions you can split and trade with friends or just make it a charcuterie feast for all. Drinks were mint and I mean that in the old cool sense of the word not actually mint, although you could ask for some and they would accommodate. The self poor wine station is a bonus, adding to the uniqueness of this establishment. Reservations highly recommended! 21+ only AMAZING read more

Amazing!! Came here for a drink and it didn't disappoint! The ambience is amazing and they offered a unique experience of drinking beer or wine from a dispenser you would handle on your own. You'd pay for a card that would be linked to a credit card and get drinks. The wait staff here were also very friendly! read more

Absolutely fantastic! A friend recommended this spot, and knowing my taste, they knew I had to check it out--and they were spot on. I brought my cousin here for his birthday while I was in town. We parked on the street; it was chilly outside, but inside, the warmth and vibe were incredible. We were both first-timers, and the service, atmosphere, and food exceeded all expectations. I was genuinely blown away--from the freshness of the dishes to the thoughtful details of the restaurant. I can't wait for our next visit, especially for a romantic date night--it's undeniably sexy. I'm eager to try the outdoor seating and soak in the ambiance! read more

Friday night are for the girls. We had to decide a few weeks in advance on this place, since the reservation appears to fill up pretty fast. They also ask you put a credit card on file with them while booking a party for 5 which was incase of cancellation or not showing up with your whole party their policy says they might charge you.. a little excessive in my opinion. Drinks were tasty, rainbow cookie martini for the win. Pizza was small, steak skewers delicious but a little pricey for an app. Ricotta whip was bland and more like a yogurt. Cobb salad was huge and delicious. Mostly paying for the atmosphere. They have a wide variety of options for seating whether you're going for a casual drinks, sit down dinner or an app. They don't spilt checks and they automatically add 20% gratuity on a party of 5. They also limit the time at the tables so be prepared. Definitely read their website before booking. 21 plus and you get ID as you walk in the door. read more

We were 4 People dining at 1PM on Sunday in a lovely Pergola. Their new Brunch menu is fabulous, their salads are fabulous and the service was wonderful. Such a fun spot for a girls' night out! The atmosphere is perfect--and kid-free--which makes it even better. I loved the snack and drink options, especially the non-alcoholic espresso martini. Shaker and Vine has a way of making anyone feel a little fancy. Their salads are huge, so definitely try one. Next time, I'm going back for the fondue and chocolate dip! They also currently have 12 days of Christmas holiday drinks which new specials each week. read more

I am obsessed with the Shaker & Vine. It is one of my favorite places in the 518. They have the most creative and phenomenal drinks to choose from plus who doesn't love a giant charcuterie board and cheese fondue? The chocolate chip cookie dough cake is a plus. The waiters and waitresses are also so much fun. The whole place is just a vibe. read more

I just want to hop in to refresh my review. This place is a great spot. You can go in casual clothes but still feel like you're having a slightly elevated experience bc of the setting. It's a nicely designed space, bathrooms are so clean, and the patio is so fun. The most important part is that the food is excellent. Tastes so fresh and flavorful, everything I've had has been great. Cocktails are also made artfully and the beer selection is good. The wine self serve part is cool, but not my thing. I appreciate that it is there, though! read more

We had a WONDERFUL nice at The Shaker & Vine! The atmosphere was fantastic. The waitress was so good and friendly. We all ordered a fun drink and they were all really great! The food was amazing! My favorite was the buffalo chicken dip for sure. We were thinking the chipotle chicken flatbread would have a little kick to it but it didn't.. it would have probably been 10 times better if it did but it was still super yummy! We also got the chocolate fondue! I sadly didn't get a picture of it but we got the small and it was enough to even share with others! Good portion sizes for sure! I will definitely be returning. read more

Loved the food, the unique and tasty cocktails, and the semi private room. Great experience!

Enjoyed my evening out here in this classy and trendy wine bar with ample seating, booths, and a cool area with inside fire pits that offered great ambience. My friend had made the reservations and we were seated right away. It was my first time here and I was delighted to have a very detailed explanation of the wine bar from the wine director - she was great! There are walls of wine where you can select 1 ounce, 3 ounce, and 5 ounce pours to find wine you like. What a cool concept! I found an excellent Rioja right off the bat and stuck with it! My friend was able to try multiple wines that he enjoyed. Our server was friendly and came to check on us occasionally even though the night was very, very busy. We had the charcuterie board, an amazing fig flatbread and my friend also ordered the meatballs, which looked good but I didn't have a chance to try them. They let us linger without being intrusive and overall I really enjoyed my evening. read more

Went to Shaker & Vine for my birthday this past fall. I've heard good things about their menu items and the overall atmosphere. I booked one of the fireplaces for a group of around 9 of us. Service throughout the night was phenomenal. Servers were kind and attentative. Everything we ordered tasted great and the prices were reasonable. I don't drink so I got a mocktail which was made very well. My friends all enjoyed their drinks of choice. I also brought in my birthday cake and they cut and served it to us at the end of the night. We parked right across the restaurant at the garage. Definitely want to go back again with a smaller group. read more

Second time here. The ambiance is top notch. They definitely expanded since the last time I've been here. We sat outside. The ambiance is similar to an upscale cocktail lounge in Miami. I love the decor, plants, fire pits, etc. The service was decent, he recommended different items on the menu and cocktails. The fig flatbread was absolutely BOMB! sweet and savory which I laaavvveee. I will be dreaming of this flatbread until I come back lol. We also got the bruschetta which was decent but nothing to rave about. I got a spicy mango passionfruit Marg which was 10/10,delicious. They have a cocktail list and a decent menu. I wasn't 100% impressed by their menu tho because I feel like a lot of the food I can make at home. When I'm paying these kind of prices for food I expect it to be unique and something I can't easily make at home (like the fig flatbread , the unique and fresh ingredients I appreciated). We also got dessert drinks, an espresso martini and chocolate martini. Both decent but I've had better. The kitchen closed early so we couldn't get dessert. Next time! I will definitely be a back. read more

Ambiance was 10/10 I recommend getting an Espresso Martini and getting cozy near the fire

My fiance and I came on a Wednesday evening and it was still so busy! (Good for them) Make sure you make a reservation to ensure the best experience as we did. I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and upon sitting at our table we were gifted a glass of rose. Our server was kind and attentive and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. For drinks my fiance had a whiskey flight and espresso martini , he said they were 10/10! I myself had an apple martini and with dessert a jolly rancher shooter both of which were incredible. For food we shared the caprese , buffalo chicken dip and chipotle flat bread. All of which were so fresh and so tasty. We hardly had any wait for our food! We saved room for dessert having the s'mores dip which was simply divine. Overall experience was 100/10. For the 3 apps, dessert, and 6 drinks it was $167 (not including tip) which I think was a great price. We can't wait to go back! read more

Celebrated my friend's bday at shaker & vine. Once you're in the gentrified strip of Mohawk valley, you don't even feel like you're in Schenectady with new development apartments, restaurants, and bars. Inside of S&V was like a completely different atmosphere with beautiful typical decor aesthetics, lots of space heaters outside, it's a big restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seatings. My friend made reservations ahead of time. We got there when it opened at 5pm and there's already a few parties waiting to enter. We were seated outside, our waiter was so friendly and attentive. Even introduced us to their wine dispenser for their wine tasting but we weren't in the mood for it that day. We ended up ordering a few cocktails, shots and food from their fall menu. Apparently their menu changes every season, being an adventurous eater I love that restaurant concept of seasonal menus. Trying out new items each time. The reservation time is booked for 1.5hrs, we were there the entire time chatting and eating away. WHAT WE ORDERED Cocktails- Apple cider margarita Shroom service Pumpkin patch Gummy bear shooters Sweet cherry pie shooter Tapas - Beef tenderloin skewers Getting figgy with it flatbread Pull pork sliders Everything was 10/10!! It's on a pricey side and worth it for a special occasion. read more

On a Saturday early evening, we decided to take a ride out from Troy. Although, we didn't have reservation, which you clearly need, the bar had room for us. Our bartender, Marcil was very good. Served us quickly and accurately. Very friendly with recommendations. We had 3 mixed drinks, Bacon wrapped dates, and the California flatbread. All the food came out quick. One item, small item, 5 dates for 2 people, 5 slices of flatbread for 2 people. That's the only thing that was remotely a small critique. The location is beautiful. As always, we ask, would we come back? Absolutely. Love to put a reservation for the deck to enjoy a night on the river. read more

The service here was great. Hannah was so much fun & super nice to us! We reserved an outdoor spot for 5 and it was amazing. We had couches & chairs & firepit - weather was cooperative too. Drinks are terrific here! Made very well and everyone enjoyed. Food options were great, lots of choices and no bad ones. Ricotta dip was good, a little sweet but not a dessert level. The spinach artichoke dip was so creamy & cheesy, everyone scored it high! Flatbreads were all great, fresh & good flavors. I got spicy sliders, they were indeed spicy & really good! Prices were a little high but they Vegas p-level drinks but not quite Vegas expensive. Careful with tip, ours was included but receipt suggests tip amount regardless. You can get fooled. read more

This is about my 10th time coming to The Shaker & Vine and I had to finally write my review to convince you to come! Not only is the food fantastic, but the atmosphere is amazing. You can tell someone paid a lot of money to make this place Instagrammable. Personally- my favorite is the self serve wine (during happy hour paid about 6 dollars for a glass, what a steal) and the cheese board (which can easily feed 5 people). This is the number one place I take any friends visiting me to. Make sure to make a reservation if you want a seat outside during happy hour time. It's a bit trendy here, and it can be difficult to get in at busy times without a reservation, but this is someplace I enjoyed on my first visit, and I expect to come here with friends when possible. It's nice that parking is free too. I've been to wine bars using this style of dispensing before, and I'm fine with the process as long as I'm fine with the selection. A lot of the wines were new to me. You'll also notice that the wines in the self-pour area are just a subset of their total wine selection. For the others, you have to visit the person at the stand where you obtained your chip-card, and that person can give you pours of the other wines. While our group didn't try any of the cocktails or liquor pours last night, those are also something I intend to try. I assume the liquor pours are 1 oz., and the prices seem reasonable. I'll find out more later, as I try them. The food options are fun too. It doesn't feel like it's a place you'd come for a sit-down dinner, but you can certainly create a satisfactory meal from the varied offerings. We all got flatbreads last night, all well prepared, and they were all delivered promptly. I feel the entrees are reasonably priced but the desserts are overpriced... besides if I'm here, I'd rather hunt for a pour of a dessert wine (if available), or perhaps an after-dinner cordial. But overall, this is a place I expect to enjoy visiting. read more

The selections of food, from the appetizers to the entrees was very appealing. They seem to have something for everyone. The drinks were also amazing. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. I really wanted to love this because the ambiance for a romantic date was definitely there. I made a reservation for my husband and I at seven and we arrived on time. We were sat right away. There must've been some miscommunication at the front desk because we did sit for a while before someone even came over. My husband's cocktail took longer than we were expecting, but it was delicious so not the end of the world. The woman at the counter was very kind and showed us how to use the card system to taste wine. There wasn't much of a difference between the middle selection and the biggest selection for the size of the pour, but it was about twice the price. The selection was ok. The hummus charcuterie board for two was delicious and had a great selection. Our server was slow to get to us to check on us to take our food order. Our biggest issue is that the menu for sandwiches and flatbread didn't really match the ambiance. I had the turkey pesto sandwich, which was just OK. My husband had the Nashville hot chicken flatbread, which wasn't big enough to satisfy my five year-old so I felt bad because he was definitely still hungry. The staff kept messing with the awnings and the shade that blocks the sun which really wasn't necessary because it was actually cold on the patio. When it says the patio is heated, they mean the fireside table? I made this reservation as a surprise so mom and dad could have a night out, but it really wasn't that great. I would've spent a little more for a better experience and food. read more

Known for their self-serve wine bar and craft cocktails, The Shaker and Vine is a CHILD FREE venue, making it the perfect spot to take your Mom-friends for a cocktail or flight of wine. Adult time for the win! The seating here is great for groups of various sizes, with options both inside and out. We've found it a perfect spot for our small book club meetings, especially. The Reservations page on The Shaker and Vine website has a comprehensive list of the options, including seating options for groups ranging from 2 - 14 people. The menu is filled with sharable plates; you've got dips, flatbreads, sliders, tapas and charcuterie boards to choose from for your group spreads, plus a nice mix of dishes for the individual diner, too. I had a fabulous time at Shaker and Vine! The Shaker and Vine is located next to Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady. I heard fabulous things about the location.... being on the river, the food, the drinks and the ambiance, so I was quite excited to come. There's some street parking along the side of the restaurant and buildings and there's also garage parking and there's the big parking lot in front of the casino. I was able to park in the garage and simply walk across the street to shaker and vine . Upon entering you're immediately taken by a really nice ambience it's got dark features but it's very open and airy there's private room space, there's a bar, as well as wine-tasting areas and beer tasting areas and then seating to eat. In warmer weather there is outdoor seating on the river. I started with a drink I heard the Pear Pressure was good and it didn't disappoint it was fantabulous Breckenridge Pear Vodka, St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, Pear Puree, Lemon Juice, and Rosemary Syrup. I also had the Spiced Blood Orange Margarita which has Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Pür Spirits Spice Blood Orange Liqueur, Fresh Blood Orange Juice, Fresh Lime Juice, Agave Syrup,Black Salt & Cinnamon Sugar Rim. It had a bit of a Smokey flavor with with a sweet/salty edge because of the Black Salt & Cinnamon Sugar Rim. It was simply delicious and I had two. We then had the Charcuterie board which included Manchego, smoked gouda, sharp provolone, cheddar, fresh mozzarella, salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, fig jam, blackberry jam, mustard, olives, pickles, melba toast, crostini. It was a perfect mix of cheese, meats and fruits. I also ordered the Cobb Salad but took it home because I was full. I will definitely be back to sample more cocktails and get some desserts. I also want to go for the wine tasting. read more

Was in town to visit friends for the weekend and this was the first spot they brought us to. No reservations, but we were able to get a seat for 4 within 15 minutes. I don't think there's any place like this in the area, making this such a unique destination and great for dates. The self serve wine tasting machines are one of a kind. I've only been to one wine shop in NYC that has these kind of wine serving machines, but only for sampling. This with the store setup makes it an experience. We came here for dinner rather than for wine tasting and the food is quite good as well. I personally got the Chipotle Chicken Panini ($14), which consisted of chicken, crispy bacon, plum tomato, provolone, and house-made chipotle ranch on ciabatta. It came with a side of chips, appears to be opened from a bag of chips, and a pickle. The sandwich was great, with good flavoring and a slight spicy kick that is not too strong. Among the table we shared a Three Cheese Spinach Pesto Flatbread ($12), consisting of creamy Alfredo brushed flatbread, topped with garlic spinach, mozzarella, tomato, parmesan and feta cheese. Pesto drizzle. We also shared an order of the Ravioli Flight ($23), which we had four choices to make. We choose 2 braised short rib, 1 lobster, and 1 spinach. I wasn't a fan of the braised short rib and enjoyed the lobster one the most as well as the spinach ravioli. My friends got the small order of the Chocolate Fondue Flight ($16). I didn't have any as I was already stuffed, but it looked like an amazing dessert to finish off dinner. Overall, it was a great experience. Service was great for the most part. Tracking the server down towards the end for the bill was the only hassle, but other than that it was great. I would definitely come by again for the wine in the future. read more

My wife and I, along with another couple, made a reservation on our way to a Proctor's show. We arrived early and headed to the bar, where we encountered an unusual setup: one person behind the bar used a tablet to take our orders, which were then sent to different stations. Our four drinks were made by four different bartenders, which seemed inefficient despite its novelty. The ambiance of the place is clearly geared toward conversation. Inside, there are several cozy, coffee-table-style setups with laid-back seating, which seemed more suited for casual chatting than dining, though some people were eating. Around the edges, there were a few standard dining tables and high-tops. The open-air patio, with an option for a covered area, offered a more traditional dining setup with square tables and regular chairs. We were soon greeted by the hostess and then our waiter, whose name escapes me but who provided excellent service. We ordered the following: - The **Charcuterie Board**, designed for two but sufficient for our group of four, included Manchego, smoked Gouda, sharp provolone, cheddar, fresh mozzarella, salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, fig jam, blackberry jam, mustard, olives, pickles, everything crackers, and crostini. It was a well-rounded and satisfying spread. - The **"Getting Figgy With It" Pizza**, topped with roasted figs, arugula, fig jam, mozzarella, ricotta, and a honey glaze, was delicious but felt more like a sweet-savory dessert rather than a main course. - The **Bacon-Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese** were simply divine--so good that it was almost a shame we were sharing them. - The **Meatball Flight** was a letdown. While not necessarily frozen, the meatballs tasted like those perfect-sphere frozen varieties you find at the grocery store. The Korean sauce was the standout, but overall, these were not my favorite. Overall, I'd rate this place 4.4/5. We plan to return and share this gem with family and friends. read more

I mean, I know the traffic / travel time from Albany to Schenectady can be a pain, but did I just travel to a beach front wine bar in Miami? Hard to believe, but I was just in Schenectady, on the Rivers Casino grounds, living my best life at this wine + tapas bar, at a gorgeous location on the Mohawk River. Booking the night before, the reservations were extremely limited, so I booked a table inside for 5:15 pm, shortly after they opened. I really wanted to sit on the patio, and to my surprise, they offered us a table outside. I sprung on the offer. The entire place was beautiful, but outside you are transported to a beach front bar somewhere vacation worthy. It was a great spot to settle in and chat with your close friends, relax, drink wine and order some snacks through your visit. Drink wine and eat snacks we did. First off, our service was impeccable. Our server (didn't catch their name) was so kind during every interaction we had, everything came out surprising fast and accurate. We ordered several wines during our visit. They were not on the cheap side, but it was a great selection and solid pours. I had three different red wines, and I found one I definitely need to search for in the liquor stores, Three Finger Jack Cabernet Sauvignon. The shareable plates we got were all great, light and didn't leave us feeling heavy and overly full. We both left completely satisfied without any regrets. We started with the Caprese appetizer. The flavors were great and fresh, the bread was very flavorful. The tomato to mozzarella was a little heavy on the tomato side, but still a great snack overall. The figgy flat bread had a great flavor profile. It was a bit on the sweet side for me, but I really enjoyed it as the flavors melded really well together. My favorite plate of the night was the cheese fondue. The pairing were all perfect for the melty, decadent Brie cheese fondue dip. The apples, pretzels, pita and fresh veggies all made the plate very enjoyable and balanced. I really enjoyed the vegetable forward options we chose (I was with my veggie friend, mentioned many times previously in my reviews). Although they don't present vegetarian options, a lot of the choices were pretty veg friendly. I can see myself coming back here soon, in the next two weeks maybe. The Shaker and Vine is a gem in this area. read more
