Another great visit to Innovo Kitchen I've been to Innovo Kitchen several times over the years and have reviewed them before, and today's visit didn't disappoint either. One thing I really like about Innovo is that they frequently change the menu, so there's always something new to try, and I've never had trouble finding something that sounds good. Tonight I went with the Rigatoni Riggies with tomato vodka sauce and chicken, and it was delicious. The warm bread that came with it was also really tasty. We also tried the Dorito Cool Ranch tater tots, which were delightful. But the real showstopper was the peanut butter mud pie. Soooooo good. Definitely one of those desserts that makes you wish you had ordered two. What really made tonight's visit memorable, though, was our waiter, Matthew. He noticed the funny design on my T-shirt and struck up a conversation about it. We laughed and chatted for a bit, and eventually he mentioned that he's been a waiter for 27 years. It showed. Matthew was high-energy, funny, personable, and attentive without being overbearing. He checked on us several times and seemed to genuinely enjoy what he was doing. Watching him work was like watching someone who has truly mastered his craft. It was a master class in waitership, and it made an already great meal even better. I feel like the food and service are two separate things. The service is not an issue - every time we have been here, our waitress/waiter is truly amazing. They are always pleasant and attentive. However, the food is not as good as a story. Your "experience" starts by reading the menu and being greeted by relatively high prices - which isn't an issue if the food is stellar (spoiler alert, it's not). I have had multiple dishes here from a roast beef sandwich, burger, chicken Caesar salad, an onion pasta dish, and even a lobster Cobb salad. Every single dish lacks seasoning, culinary character, and is just bland. I want to like it, but they make it very hard. If you go here, maybe just have a drink at the bar and go eat some place else. read more

After our last experience - which was not great - we decided to give this restaurant another try. Glad we did. The Hostess was SUPER friendly and she never stopped working - cleaning tables and checking with guests to be sure everything was satisfactory. The waiter, Gregg, was very attentive and friendly. He did a great job The food was terrific! I ordered Pasta Bolognese and it was absolutely the best I have ever had. Magnificent sauce. For one reason or another I didn't make it here until now. We decided to go on Taco Tuesday. We sat in the outdoor patio area. We both decided to order from the Taco Tuesday menu. I started out with a raspberry, chipotle margarita. It was very refreshing on a warm day. I had the Chicken Baja Tacos. Marinaded in a citrus marinade they were juicy with quite a bit of heat. My companion had the pulled pork tacos. The price is right on these specials. We were served a complimentary appetizer of white bean dip with sesame crackers. It tasted freshly made and was my favorite bite of the night. I want to come back to try the regular menu. The service was exemplary from the hostess to the waitress. Honestly 10/10! We flew into the airport and googled nearby places for lunch. This place had good reviews and was close by. After eating here, we see why! Nice atmosphere with a great patio, friendly and competent staff, and delicious food! I had the cheeseburger bao buns. My husband had the 50/50 burger with a GF bun and Parmesan tater tots. The waitress even checked to make sure we understood that the tots were in a shared fryer with gluten and we appreciated her awareness! The tots are homemade and so so so yummy! Let me start off by saying the service is absolutely amazing - everyone is so nice and accommodating! I love the ambience and atmosphere. However, the food is very misleading. For example, one time I ordered the "parmesan tater tots" and got tater tots with parm sprinkled on them - the next time I ordered them (the time that prompted me to write this review) I received an interpretation of a mozzarella stick, and that's being generous. I also ordered the turkey sandwich, which came with mayonnaise spread on it and the menu states pesto, not mayo. My husband ordered an onion pasta dish that is no longer on the menu probably because of how bad it was. I don't mind any of this, it's fine! but it is extremely expensive and NOT worth it. Get a drink at the bar but do NOT order the food. I've eaten here multiple times. I tried to like it, but I couldn't. read more

Food was fantastic, service was aggressive and off putting. I've dined here a few times and after the 1st wonderful meal, I recommend it to anyone I speak to. I returned roughly a year later and dined again. We loved our table and the food but our server was way too quick. Dropping things on the table and always in a rush. It wasn't easy and enjoyable. mistakes happened. Service wasn't the best. Had a very minor issue at the hostess stand and then had a not so great waitress. Yes she was efficient, but she wasn't nice and was wayyyy too fast and short. Abrupt. No description of the amuse, some bean spread with crackers - quickly dropped (slammed) on our table with no description. The salt and pepper shakers were dropped thrown on the table. It was one of the earliest seatings and we were early for our reservation and sat early. We understand you want to turn table and be efficient, but this wasn't pleasant. The food and portions were good. Price was somewhat high but good quality. The desserts were mixed up, and no apology. The apple pie slice (to go) was served with an ice cream scoop without asking. I give Innovo a 7/10 (aka a 3.5/5). The ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant was bright and welcoming. The host that greeted me was friendly and I got a good kick out of their sign to remind patrons to be kind. Food: The restaurant gives out crackers and a mediterranean bean dip to snack on as you look over the menu. This was a unique and yummy treat. My friend and I got steamed pork buns to share as an app and I ended up with the marry me chicken as my entree. The pork buns were great. I thought there was a decent amount of meat and it had a nice crisp to it that most buns I've had in the past lacked. The marry me chicken sauce was a bit bland in my opinion. It was definitely still good, just seemed to be lacking something. The mashed potatos and brussel sprouts that it came with were solid. We opted out of dessert for the night but still got a sweet treat in with the complimentary dark chocolate bark that is offered. The chocolate was delicious, smooth, and a great way to end the meal. We had a really nice work dinner at Innovo Kitchen. Very nice decor, very modern. They have a huge patio that makes for delightful al fresco dining. Our server was superb, she provided some great reccos and followed up a lot to make sure we were happy. I went with the Lamb burger which many others have noted is good, because I like lamb burgers. The patty was substantial, and importantly, cooked medium rare per my request. You would be surprised how often burgers are cooked well Done by default no matter what you request. We tried cool-ranch Doritos coated tater tots which were a fun app. The whole menu looked fun in fact. My colleague got a shrimp Pasta and scarfed it down, said it was very good. I would definitely return to Innovo were I a local. A great spot for a date or a long dinner with friends. read more

After hearing many good things about Innovo Kitchen, I decided to give it a whirl. With regard to the above mentioned, I started things off with the Parmesan tater tots. With that said, the tots were really tasty. To construe, the tots were definitely homemade and didn't taste like other tater tots. The outside was crispy while the inside was fluffy with a heavy potato flavor. Also, the Parmesan cheese helped bring it all together. These were simply great tater tots. After that, I ordered the 50/50 burger and it was delicious. Considering that, the burger was topped with bacon, cheese, pickles, and peanut butter. I was skeptical that these ingredients would work, but they certainly did. To explain, the burger was juicy and had excellent flavor. In addition, the bacon, cheese, and pickles all brought extra flavor to the burger. Finally, the peanut butter brought everything together to create a perfect harmony. Had a lovely lunch sitting out on the patio at this large modern restaurant with an open floor plan. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp which at $27 I thought was a little pricey even though the food tasted good and there were a lot of shrimp! My friend had drinks, the chicken wings, and onion rings, and she enjoyed her meal and said the lemon drops were tasty! An overall good brunch experience. Bottomless brunch was great and our waitress was very attentive in making sure our glasses were full. The menu wasn't terribly extensive but everything was solid. The biscuit "appetizer" was perfect for a group of four to hold us over for the main meal. Was surprised that the biscuit sandwich was actually on a different style of biscuit. One thing we all agreed on was the potato casserole side being amazing. After the meal our waitress was walking around with free dark chocolate for everyone which was a great added touch. We love this place, come here a lot. The managers almost always come by to check in on how you're doing when you eat there for dinner. Food is reliably good. They have a gluten free menu. After every meal, they give you a little piece of homemade chocolate and it's delicious. However, it is made with almonds and cranberries so my husband can't eat it because he's allergic to nuts. Parking is easy. We usually have pretty good service here. During the month of March, however, they had a food special advertised, for corn beef & cabbage--it was front and center at their hostess stand. When we sat down, i tried to order it, and they told me it wasn't available yet, it was for the following week, for the holiday. So I made reservations for the following week, brought my sister in law with me, who has lived in the area for 30 years and has never been to this restaurant. I attempted once again to order the corned beef & cabbage meal, which was still proudly being advertised in a big plaque on the hostess stand. Once again, I was told it was not available, as it was only being offered on St. Patrick's Day itself. We do not go out on St. Patrick's Day for safety reasons--too many people drinking and driving, and Innovo Kitchen isn't particularly close to where we live. So I was extremely disappointed as this didn't feel like great service, it felt like a bait-and-switch. When we left that evening, I looked again at the sign advertised at the hostess stand and there were 8 items being advertised--4 specialty drinks, 4 food items, and a small note at the bottom saying "Tuesday, 3/17, 12pm -9pm". Really disappointing to make two trips and still not be able to order the advertised meal, which was apparently only offered one night. I hope the managers will reconsider this approach for next year and future advertised specials. read more

Every time I come to this place, I enjoy the different food that they have lots of different menus routinely changed . I usually make a reservation as it's so crowded. You can't get a seat. They also have outside seating with a fireplace and heated lanterns. They usually have a happy hour of drinks and food most weekdays so get there early because the bar seats are full. The only issue I have is sometimes the sound is quite loud as they have metal ceilings that makes it a little bit loud, but it doesn't matter because the food is so good. It's a very trendy place both young and old enjoying delicious food. read more

I enjoyed my burger here, and the service was fine. But when we looked at our receipt versus our food and drink, it felt like the price point was off. I didn't really think we had consumed that much $$ worth of food and drink. I think the slightly eclectic twists on various items are interesting though not necessarily innovative. The other thing I saw that I didn't like, as I was sitting facing the front of the restaurant, was a bird fly in through the open section in the front to perch somewhere in the rafters. I know what birds can do ... a lot ... and I'm not anxious to experience ... that ... as an unexpected addition to my meal. As for the food and drink: I thought my on-tap old fashioned was strong, but the flavor itself wasn't that strong. Better was the cold brew Manhattan, something I'd definitely order on a future visit here (which implies that I'd be fine coming here again, just a bit more particular about what I order). I ordered my burger medium, and it came out at the high end of medium-well. The crinkle fries were definitely fresh, a plus, but a bistro portion at a beyond-bistro price. I didn't order dessert, but I had second thoughts after seeing a gigantic piece of cheesecake pass by on its way to someone else's table. In short, a decent time here, and this is one of those places that might interest me more if/when I sample other items on the menu. read more

Has it really been eight years since my last visit to Innovo Kitchen? Well, not much has changed. Once again, arriving a little after 6 pm on a weeknight it was quite busy (read still noisy). I was surprised that the bar area was only about half full since their Monday Burger special was only valid in the bar. It being summer on this visit instead of winter, the overhead door to the patio was wide open. Without a reservation, we were once again seated in the back near the open kitchen. But this time we had a good view of the kitchen. There are no paper menus. You have the choice of viewing the menu on their webpage with whatever internet connecting device you carry, or scanning the QR code displayed on the table with your cell phone. Staff are happy to offer you assistance should you need it. The beer choices are primarily in bottles and cans with a handful of drafts. Variations of IPA dominate. My wife ordered a bottle of Saratoga sparkling ($7.50) while I chose a can of Wolf Hollow Pilsner ($8). Our server brought a complimentary white bean dip with everything flatbread while we reviewed the menu. Déjà vu from six years ago? My wife was interested in trying the Chilled Melon Avocado Soup ($8) and the I-Street Tacos ($10). The soup had plenty of flavor and even a swirl of hot crispy oil. The daily changing taco filling today of fried cod, slaw, guacamole, cotija, and pico salsa was more enjoyable than the flour tortillas. Corn tortillas would have been our preference. Not having reviewed my previous review before going to dinner, I once again ordered the Lamb Burger ($24). Déjà vu once again except for the nine dollar price increase. Just like the previous time, I left the level of cooking up to the Chef and once again it came out a beautiful medium-rare (compare the photos). The sesame seed roll was super fresh and soft. The lamb was so mild in flavor that even someone who does not enjoy lamb would find this to be a tasty burger with its feta cheese, pickled onions, arugula, and tzatziki aioli. The fries needed to be more crispy on the outside. The final Déjà vu was our server offering another complimentary treat, cold pieces of chocolate with slivers of almond and cranberry. Service was excellent. I really should return more frequently and try something different. read more

Although the food was good, the management is very unprofessional on how they treat their employees. I have read texts to their employees from the owners and they are unprofessionally written. Accusations without asking questions and down right nasty at times. Would have gone back but not now I have found this out. Several other ex employees have stated the same. Lamb burger, hotdogs, pasta, and salads etc. The atmosphere is noisy with the concrete floor and open ceiling with metal roof decking under plate. The service was attentive and efficient. The penne pasta dinner with chicken was of good size. Very garlicky with shaved onions, good but over powering. Did have the lamb burger, cooked perfectly to medium. Bun and added items were excellent. Also had the kale, Brussel sprout salad. It was a a small bowl and the added items of cranberries, nuts, etc. needed more dressing to meld the flavors. Visiting from the West coast and had dinner here with family. The ambience is very inviting for a dining experience. Upscale without the pretense. The staff were very friendly and accessible and the service was well above average. I ordered the chef's special pasta dish of the day which was not to my liking. They offered me another item on the menu which was far superior to the special. Luckily the chef was on par with his old fashioned. I would definitely dine here again. My daughter and I went here with my mom the day before Mother's Day. When we sat down the waitress immediately came to greet my daughter and me. She explained the menu process and was extremely accomodating. You scan the code on the table and look at all the options. I ordered the Bulgolgi Beef Sloppy Joe. My mom had the chicken cesar salad and my daughter the kids Mac and cheese. We all loved our meals. It was about $85 total for two entrees, 1 kids meal and two mimosas. The restaurant was clean and very classy. When we were done with our meal the waitress brought out complimentary chocolate bark with almonds and cranberries. Loved that they offered something sweet after such a delicious meal. The chef even came out to talk a little and wish us a happy Mother's Day. Great place. They even have a cute outside sitting area. Service and food quality not good. Our server rarely came by to check on things. The lamb hot dog ordered was missing the sauce and the sausage was overcooked and dry. Took us 15 minutes to flag down our waitress and another 15 minutes to get the sauce. When the sauce finally arrived I was given the wrong one! Looking for another place, I happened onto innovo kitchen. Friendly faces greeted me and I sat at bar. Quick service from Krissy. I looked at menu at knew instantly, it would be the shrimp and grits. Even though the place is crowded my order arrived in under 15 minutes. A large portion, and flavor like the Cook had just come from the south and it was their favorite dish too. Nice touch with a little cranberry nut chocolate piece to wash down a truly delicious meal. I will be back with family next time. read more
