Another day, another diner craving satisfied. I've driven past Metro 7 countless times, but ever since my diner fixation kicked in, my subconscious is on high alert for new spots to try. Loved the cozy vibes inside--the staff was super sweet, and the food came out fast. I have this (bad?) habit of ordering a toasted muffin with coffee at every diner I visit. They had some fun options like pistachio, but I went with the cinnamon muffin, and it did not disappoint. For my main, I got the Monte Cristo--nothing excites my taste buds more than the perfect balance of sweet and savory, and this hit the spot. The portion was huge (hello, leftovers!). My boyfriend enjoyed his steak & eggs, and the hash was great. Metro 7 is definitely a solid addition to my diner rotation.

First time at metro 7 dinner. Always looking for a good breakfast. Got the breakfast panini very good. A little sloppy but the flavor was there. Forgot to take a photo of my husband's Irish skillet. Definitely would recommend the place the server Rhianna was the best.

This place just can't get it right, I don't think I can come back. I am always specific about wanting well done bread, but then it comes burnt, today I ask for well done, but please not burnt!!!! Guy asked if I wanted a to go, I said, it's burnt, I can't eat it. No response.

It's been a minute since we've been to the Metro 7 Diner but I'm so happy we decided to U-turn and stop in there for a quick bite. It was last Friday, when my husband and I were driving home and saw the smoker with aromatic clouds of smoke billowing out. We immediately made a u-turn and ran inside to inquire about the delicious smoked meats we could stuff into our faces. The current meats were being prepped for the weekly Saturday BBQ specials, however, we got lucky as they had some extra from a catering we could get our hands on. I ordered the brisket sandwich and OMG it was so deliciously moist and flavorful. The service is excellent with friendly and attentive staff and the diner itself is comfortable just as a great diner should be. I'm ready to go back on a Saturday and take advantage of the selection of smoked meats and highly recommend you do as well.

A decent home-style diner that serves decent portions of classics and bustling ambience. We came here on a recent Sunday morning and the place got busier by the minute. The waitstaff told us she was new and still training so there was a bit of a wait to put our orders in and the slaw and pickle were initially missed with the egg salad sandwich, but I wouldn't hold it against anyone. The egg salad was tops but the slaw was a tad too soupy than I like. The Irish skillet good, mince type corned beef and decent home fries, so overall we were pleased with the experience. I hope they continue to improve and stay open for a long time.

French Toast short stack w/ sides of 2 eggs and bacon.

Nothing better than breakfast at lunch time in the middle of the week. We finally decided to check out this one-year-old reopened diner. It obviously is popular based upon the number of cars in the parking lot. And, yes, they serve breakfast all day. My wife ordered the French Toast Short Stack with two eggs and bacon ($14.98). The two slices of French Toast did not have much of an egg flavor but placing her side order of eggs on top of the toast rectified that. The three slices of bacon were just crispy enough. I ordered the Apple Walnut Pancakes ($11.99). They were light, fluffy, and large enough that three of them was quite filling. The cinnamon apple and candied walnuts added a nice mix of texture and sweetness. The syrup provided on the side was imitation flavor and adequate. Coffee ($2.99) was average with a refill after I requested one. Service was friendly, professional, and prompt considering the level of customers at lunch time. Desserts at other tables looked very inviting and worth of a second visit.

I've been to Innovo Kitchen in Latham several times over the years and I've enjoyed it every time. They have a unique menu that changes periodically, but I always find something that catches my eye. The interior has an industrial feel which I like, with a lot of exposed brick. The tables are made from old bowling lane wood, which is a really cool touch. When you walk in there is also a bowling pin displayed in a glass case. I remember there being a bowling alley somewhere in that plaza when I was a kid, so it seems likely the building has some history tied to that. The tables are also nice and large, which makes the dining experience more comfortable. Tonight I ordered the Monte Cristo burger which is described as battered Buckley's Bread sourdough, a 6 oz special grind burger, Taylor pork roll, Swiss, and Twin Leaf Farms maple aioli. It was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the hint of maple syrup flavor on the burger. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were also very good. Another person in our party ordered the White Chicken Parmesan, described as a crisp chicken cutlet topped with ricotta and garlic spinach and fresh mozzarella, with garlic parmesan cream and lumache pasta. They said it was delicious. Someone else had the Crispy Skin Salmon and enjoyed that as well. A child at our table ordered macaroni with red sauce. The portion was surprisingly large and they liked it, which is impressive because they are particularly finicky. For dessert we ordered something we've had here several times before, the peanut butter mud pie. It's basically ice cream in pie form with an Oreo cookie crust and chocolate fudge. It's very tasty and also a generous portion. At the end of your meal they also offer everyone at the table a tasty piece of gourmet chocolate. One thing that really stood out tonight was the attentiveness of the management. Two different managers stopped by our table at different times to check and make sure everything was good. I recognized one of them because I've seen him there before and he always seems to make a point of checking in with guests. The other person had seated us so I initially thought she was the hostess, but after she stopped by during the meal I asked if she was a manager and she confirmed that she was. I mentioned that I was impressed that two different managers had checked on us, and that every time I've dined there a manager has stopped by to make sure everything was good. I thanked her and told her it was appreciated. During the summer and fall they also have a very nice patio area for outdoor dining. On cooler nights they have heaters and a fireplace which makes it a great place to sit outside. I will definitely return here again in the future. 5 stars

It was good to know the turkey is roasted "in house." I took half home. In my opinion, the prices are not only fair but on the low side for the quality of food served. My sandwich was only $9.99 with chips and a pickle spear. Side salads are inexpensive and delicious I hear. The two sided laminated menu was easy to navigate. Specials of the day are posted at the entrance. Service was prompt and friendly. The charming cafe is located at the end of a strip of businesses off Rt. 7 near the Galleria 7 Food Court. There is limited parking on the premises but always parking on the street if you don't mind some walking. The slightly rustic, lodge type of interior matches the friendly vibes as well as the interesting drink selections, including a side menu filled with signature coffee whiskey cocktails! Their tipsy cocktails and beer menu is also quite attractive. My group and I were able to walk in on a weekend evening for dinner with no wait and while it was packed inside, it still felt roomy enough. However, the surrounding tables were rowdy and the noise was reverberating. Our server was attentive though she did admit it was busy and the wait time for orders would take a bit longer than usual. The menu has plenty of starters that are highly shareable, poutine, salads, soups, mac and cheese, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, and quesadillas. Haven't had real poutine in ages so I decided to try their gravy fries with smoked cheese curds and added bacon. It was a good portion for the price ($15+) and came out hot on a cast iron skillet. The cheese curds weren't the type I expected and melted down too much, and did not have that squeaky cheese bite one would want in poutine. The gravy and the bacon worked well with the fries though! The smoked brisket French onion soup ($8+) was extremely hot when it first came out and I had to let it cool down before taking a spoonful. The cheese was so bubbly and delicious and the soup itself was flavorful (maybe a tad too salty), and had a balanced amount of onions and brisket. I would definitely get the soup again. Their barbecue pulled pork quesadilla ($15+) was also a bit too salty and meat was more tough than preferred. We also tried two of their mac and cheese selections, which came in a small cast iron pot each ($17+). The bacon chicken ranch mac and cheese was good but the jerk chicken mac and cheese was not as memorable (not much jerk flavor). Kudos for having a build-your-own mac and cheese option as well as a mac and cheese flight if you want to try more than one flavor. I'm glad to return to try other menu items at this tap and tavern and see what else catches my eye. While this visit wasn't spectacular, it also wasn't bad. The French onion soup is one thing I know I'd get over and over again. Oh, they also have a credit card transaction fee that you will see once you get the bill. Pay in cash if you mind said fee.

I walked in with no reservations. I noticed the space is very large with multiple dining rooms. I'm tired, I asked for a table close to the open kitchen. Once seated, I'm given a large, leather menu. There are lots of great entree choices but after I review all the selections, I'm going with the SK Bistro Burger. The entree also has a wine pairing suggestion, a Cabernet Sauvignon. It's like they read my mind, I'm sold! I'm starting to read about the restaurant, they have a large wine cellar and was recognized by Wine Spectator with an award for excellence. My bistro burger arrives, I can see this is a well crafted burger. From the pretzel bun to the thick burger patty, Scarlet Knife served me a great meal that I would typically order at The Capital Grill. My only issue, the onion straws were cold. I scraped them off and continued with my meal. I'm just passing thru town, Scarlet Knife was a fantastic spot to dine and have a generous pour of award winning Cabernet Sauvignon.

We arrived early and were seated promptly; water was poured before we even had napkins on laps. This surprised me, as reviews indicated that service could be slow and this was a holiday. But this started a constant service of someone checking in on us every 2-3 minutes (I am prone to exaggeration for a good story, but I assure you this was true. I kept checking my watch to confirm). We put in an appetizer order (deviled eggs) that was served within a minute or two. These were well seasoned and tasty, ice cold from the refrigerator. It's not that they didn't taste fresh, but they were served to us so quickly that I know that they were prepared well in advance and only the warm pork belly was recently prepped. Our meals were served as the appetizer was finished (I was still chewing). At this point, we were 10 minutes into our seating. Our meals included steak and eggs, which I incorrectly assumed would require a little bit more time. Not true! Our plates arrived, piping hot and tasty enough...but boy did we feel rushed. Our server, the manager, bussers, and other attendants stopped by our table every few minutes. I recognize this was a holiday, but there was not a steady stream of people coming through the doors and plenty of open tables were available. Our conversation was repeatedly interrupted with these check-ins and we all took great care to eat the meal as slowly as possibly to stretch things out. At this point we were on track to be out the door in 30 minutes. As a table we made a decision to order dessert and we were able to savor and dawdle long enough to get us to one hour. $180 later, we finished our Easter visit out in the parking lot where no one was pushing us out. (I will note that several families arrived after us and completed their meals in 30ish minutes. What's special about brunch when it's that rushed?) I wish I could review the food better, but my taste buds hardly had time to register the experience. Entrees were hot but clearly prepared well in advance and kept at the ready under heat lamps or in warming ovens. The dessert was cold and sweet as appropriate, but had that prepped yesterday feel to it. This is not what I expect from a restaurant that markets itself as a fresh farm to table establishment. I don't quite regret going to Scarlet Knife, but there are enough quality restaurants in the greater area that I probably won't return.

I really like The Flats in Clifton Park. I've been here several times for dinner and lunch, along with their Christmas breakfast and Mother's Day buffet brunches. Their buffets are excellent. They're around $50 per adult and about $20 for kids, and in my opinion they're worth it if you enjoy a good brunch buffet. Today they had carving stations with roast beef and turkey sliced fresh in front of you, build your own omelets, chocolate chip waffles, chicken nuggets, potato pancakes, sausage, bacon, mac and cheese, herb chicken and rice, seafood, and a huge dessert selection. There were so many desserts I couldn't possibly name them all, but some included chocolate chip cookies, Rice Krispie treats, lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse pie, Oreo mousse pie, mini cheesecake cupcakes, and plenty of other goodies. I will say the chocolate mousse pie tasted good but was a little gritty in texture. I love me some chocolate mousse pie ordinarily but today I actually preferred the Oreo mousse pie. That being said everything is all you can eat, and it's all very good. It was extremely busy today, which was expected, but service was still excellent. That's been consistent every time I've visited here. The restaurant itself has a nice industrial-style feel and a covered patio area that I really like. It's a newer place that's only been open a few years, at least from what I'm aware of. Most places around here seem to do brunches but not true buffet brunches anymore, and I personally enjoy a good buffet brunch, so this place really stands out to me. If you get the chance to attend one of their buffets, I'd definitely recommend it. I know I will return in the future. 5 stars

I've been coming to 76 Diner for years, going back to my college days, and while I don't get over to that part of Latham as often anymore, I still make it a point to stop in a few times each year. I will say a while ago they changed their menus. I used to enjoy the older version with some information about the presidents of the United States. Probably silly of me but I enjoyed reading that and it went along with the '76 name. I'd like to see something similar to that come back on future menus. It's a large place, so there's rarely much of a wait, if any, and the parking lot is big enough that finding a spot is never an issue. On this visit, we were seated quickly, greeted promptly, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Any time I've been here it's always nice and clean. This time was no exception. Any time I've been in the restroom, it has always been clean as well. The service stood out, our waitress checked in several times to make sure everything was good and see if we needed anything else without being overbearing. Everything we ordered tasted great, and the desserts were just as good. This has been a reliable spot for me for a long time, and this visit was no different. 5 stars

I would have liked them to have been served hotter, which, coincidentally, is what my wife also said about her omelet. But the pancakes were tasty and satisfying. The hashbrowns were a good mix of some soft and some crispy potatoes. The over easy eggs I ordered came out perfect and the bacon was crispy the way I like it. Overall, a pleasant meal that we didn't have to cook at home. Our server was very welcoming and friendly.
