1:45 pm restaurant was not overwhelmed. Waitstaff is welcoming & we were seated right away. Tracy is our waitress. Served drinks right away & got us silver ware too. I was underwhelmed by this meal. There were 4 slices of banana total on both "sandwiches". (If I were making it I would at least use 1/2 -1 banana so it would taste like it's named). The sausage was brown on one side only. The kitchen didn't communicate with the waitstaff about running out of biscuits so my hubby had to change his order. Coffee needs sweetness added. Here's the silver lining ladies: our bathroom is closer than the men's room! Now they take credit cards, they used to only take cash. There's always got to be something good.

Mike's Diner is a warm and friendly restaurant with pretty good food. We heard positive things about this place from friends and swung by one Saturday afternoon for a bite. The staff greeted is upon entering, and we sat down pretty quickly. The diner was clean and has a warm old school local vibe. The menu had a bunch of options, without being overwhelming. Honestly, it's nice to see that now and again compared to those massive six-page diner menus that have me choice locked for 20 minutes. I was craving my usual diner meal, which is often a Greek Chicken Wrap or a Mushroom Swiss Burger. They had a Greek roast beef wrap on the menu, and also a Greek Chicken salad with tzatziki, so I asked to combine the salad into a wrap with added kalamata olives and feta cheese. The food came out very quickly, fries still hot on the plate, with an extra side of tzatziki. I quickly spread it on the wrap and was delighted to see that it was thick and flavorful with dill and garlic notes. There's nothing worse than flavorless runny tzatziki, and Mike's did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, still hot and juicy, with oregano, garlic, salt, and pepper. It'll came together beautifully in the wrap alongside the lettuce, tomato, onion, feta cheese, and kalamata olives. Overall a good experience eating here for the first time. I would definitely come back and recommend everyone check it out.

I stayed in town for two weeks and ate here almost everyday !! The food is amazing and the employees are as friendly as someone you've known your entire life! Quick service, great location, and good tunes on the radio! The staff Karen, Brenda, Linda, Casey, and Jazmine are phenomenal!!! The cooks really know how to throw down some amazing taste and beautiful food !! Two thumbs up, five stars, totally recommend !!!

Great little diner! I didn't expect it to be half as good as it was. The menu is large and there are daily specials. Open for breakfast and lunch (they close at 3pm)...special options included sweet potato waffles and a breakfast burrito. I went for the breakfast burrito and had it without any meat plus veggies and cheese. (You can choose whatever combination of ingredients you want). Had a side of home fries (which can be put inside the burrito if you prefer). Delicious and satisfying. My companion had the gyro platter and really enjoyed it. Food was served piping hot and the service was friendly. Would absolutely go back.

I saw reviews on this place and finally decided to try it. Very happy we did. We were warmly greeted by Brenda who also became our server. She is a very pleasant and attentive person. Hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Combination Breakfast with a choice of pancakes or French Toast, I went with the French Toast (great choice). We had a bit of a wait for the food, but it was well worth it. Eggs were made perfectly to our request, the French Toast was the absolute best. Hubby said the Hollandaise was "different, but good", I forgot to taste it so taking his word for it. Overall, clean, pleasant, comfortable environment with plexiglass between each booth and a bottle of hand sanitizer on each table, kudos for the safety. Limited seating for parties over 4 or 5, but they make it work comfortably. Will definitely go back and try more of the yummy sounding items on their menu. See you there!

No problem with parking but came at 11a on a weekday. The coconut cream French toast is amazing! Our party also ordered burger and fries, turkey reuben, chicken fingers and Greek salad with grilled chicken, all reported to be good. Everything appeared very fresh and freshly made. My only complaint about the service was that my coffee cup sat empty til the end of the meal and that rarely happens at a diner. Reasonably priced, around $65 for 2 adults and 3 kids(2 ordered regular entrees.) Will definitely return, could eat a truckload of that coconut cream French toast.

We hopped off the highway in search of breakfast on our way to Syracuse and decided to try Mike's after reading a couple of newspaper reviews. We were initially worried when we were the only ones there, but the place gradually filled up with locals before long. The menu was great- so many choices and unusual offerings made it difficult to choose. I ordered an omelette filled with a ridiculous amount of ingredients, including bacon, two kinds of cheese, spinach, tomatoes..... with home fries and rye toast. My boyfriend decided on the apple and cheddar omelette. Both were delicious and served up quickly by a friendly waitress who kept our coffee mugs filled. The decor was a bit tacky, with an over abundance of faded plastic flowers inside and out. But we didn't come for the ambiance. We'll be making the same trip again next month and might just get off at the same exit to find breakfast at Mike's again.

This is hands-down my favorite diner in the Capital Region - small but in the coziest way possible, with friendly attentive staff, quick service from the kitchen, and delicious homemade food. Open 7 days a week, 700 a.m. to 300 p.m., FYI. Breakfast is always a winner: I love the Florentine Super Omelette ($9.50), and the Buckwheat Pancakes with Blueberries ($8.95), though the Eggs Benedict ($9.25) is sort of like eggs in yellow gravy - skip that. Anyway there are lots of choices, including waffles and homemade pastry, so you're sure to find something you like. Last weekend Peanut enjoyed an Eggwich with Cheese ($3.50), asking for a tomato slice (no upcharge - nice!) - egg over easy, on a toasted English Muffin, Uhmerican cheese - all perfectly prepared. She asked for a bowl of fresh fruit - they had some choices though you could only order 1 kind (weird) - the cantaloupe was nice and ripe and sweet ($4.50) - lovely. I enjoyed a Chicken Gyro ($9.50) - asking for extra tzatziki on the side (agin' no upcharge!) - lots of tender nicely marinated white meat chicken, lettuce and tomato, with just a hint of red onion in there (I would have liked more). I was told my fries would be coming - I think the oil wasn't quite hot, as I was probably the first of the day to order off the lunch menu - I appreciated that they waited until the temp was just right - these fries were hot, crispy and delicious. Sometimes there's a line at the door (the smallish parking lot is a good indicator of how busy they are) but it's worth the wait. Once seated you will never feel rushed, and I like that. Love, Zena Goddess of Fire PS: Grab a Nut Horn on your way out the door. Blueberry or Cinnamon. Amazing!!!

Good breakfast with pleasant service. Home fries a little greasy but eggs cooked perfectly and grilled hard roll was spot on.

You go to plan "B." The Blue Ribbon Restaurant and Bakery is a "sister" to the bakery next door and is open on Sunday for five hours after the bakery shop closes. We might as well have dinner too while we are at the restaurant. Starting with cups of better than average diner coffee ($2.99/bottomless cup) my wife chose a Reuben with coleslaw and pickle wedge ($14.99) and added fries ($3) while I decided to have the Shredded Short Rib Sandwich ($14.49) which included fries, coleslaw, and a pickle wedge. We both agreed the fries were best while they were nice and hot but otherwise typically average once they cooled. Our respective sandwiches, however, were outstanding. The Reuben was the traditional corned beef on grilled rye with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese. It was large enough that half came home for the next meal. My Short Rib sandwich was too full of meat in a fresh and soft bun for me to chance picking it up to eat by hand, so I resorted to using a fork and knife. Regardless, it was really tasty. Now we were ready for the main event. My wife got her slice of Carrot Cake ($7.49) while I selected the Italian Rum Cake ($7.25). We both left totally satisfied and smiling, but on overload. This diner is very clean and staff are efficient.

First off, the name 'Chuck Wagon' is a nod to the Old West; where cowmen and cowboys used to pull along a wood wagon, which had many covers and a hatch in the back, where the cook would cut stuff, prepare meals & drink and prepare meat. This is a genuine name - do not ever get rid of this diner! Anything you could possibly want or look for in diner atmosphere: is right here. The atmosphere is professional and bright. The elder gentleman, quickly stopped at my table to say "hello". We spoke a few minutes about where we were both from and sports. I made a promise, to return - which I so far did not have time to. Now I will. And this is my review! My breakfast was epically badass! Truly. Totally and utterly and perfectly prepared. No burns. I ordered a poached egg, and that chef in the kitchen did it better than I would have. Better than me. So cool! Not only that, but my entire dish was flavorful beyond belief (see delicious pics). The eggs were 'country' eggs - they tasted soo much better. The sausage was also very unique and tasty - it was nicely roasted and had a nice sear. The casing was a throwback to when real butchers made real meats! Not the tofu, cardboard-meat that J-Lo, little starving millennials and Taylor try to put in our manly bodies. Real flavor! Real meat! Strong coffee! The service too, was so genuine, so happy and polite it was a breath of fresh air when compared to many places where waitresses have just blank stares and that 'deer in the headlight' ('got to pay my kids' bills because I married a dummy')-type brainlessness. It doesn't matter how you look, where you're from; if you are a biker in leather or a guy in a tie: you will get positive country vibes only and warm friendliness. Chris' Chuck Wagon Diner is awesome! I am thinking about going back tomorrow. The food is craftily made, eclectic in variation and tasty. Please order what is on the menu!! Epic place. Doing it right! Farmhands, workers and cowboys everywhere, love this place! Review: 5++

They also decorate the windows for holidays, and there is a Christmas tree in the front breezeway that they decorate for different holidays throughout the year, which adds a fun and festive touch. Many times I have ended up chatting with other patrons seated near my table, which says a lot about the atmosphere. There are clearly several regulars, and when a place has a loyal customer base like that, they are doing something right.
