I have never had a bad experience here. I have been here (for breakfast only mind you) for breakfast so many times I have lost count. The service was always friendly and they don't price gouge you. From the outside going in we were not expecting much but the need to feed motivated us in, as did a few of the positive reviews already left. Overall a very positive experience. It's very cozy inside, if it's crowded expect noise and not a lot of room. It was practically empty the day we went so the noise thing is an assumption based on an observation. Waitress was very nice and pleasant, everyone was accommodated easily and everyone was very pleased with their order with plenty left over to bring home. Kitchen staff were quick and amazing. I've wanted to order from here for quite awhile and I finally had the chance to. Listennnnnn, I am picky about my breakfast and especially when I get it to go. Ordered online through Uber eats. I got the ham on white bread add Swiss cheese for an extra charge. I got it but it had no cheese and it was half a sandwich for 7.25. If I had know that I wouldn't have gotten it, i would have just stuck to the spaghetti dinner. I called and told the lady who answered they should update their menu because had i know that i wouldnt have ordered it and was told it wasn't her problem in a very rude manner. Love, love, love this cafe! Sandy was great as well. Very personable and just a great person all around. My niece and I popped into town to see the Van Gough Immersion exhibition and decided on this cafe for breakfast. We were not unhappy at all. My niece ordered the Strawbanella Waffle and I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. I'm a tough critic when it comes to ordering and eating Mexican food having lived in the southwest for 20+ years, but their Huevos was amazingly good. I could have done with a touch more heat, but I can't complain. The Strawbanella Waffle was a home run with my niece as this petite young lady ate nearly the entire waffle. We were both amazed. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. It would surely be a fav spot if I lived in the area. read more

Just remember this is a cash establishment! But ATM here is $2! We had to use it oops. Well someone told us of this place for breakfast from the theatre. So here we are! Didn't realize it was Mexican American. But pleasantly surprised. We picked a table by the window and had the most delightful waitress Cassy! Everything that's great about America, you can find here. An old neighborhood joint, now under management by first generation immigrants. Old timers at home with new comers. A tasty (if modified to American tastes) international cuisine on top of standard diner favorites. A hard-working family who proudly display photos of their kids currently in the service. A pleasing low-key melange of personal touches showing pride. A clean floor. (I cannot overemphasize the latter in comparing this to other diners.) The food wasn't completely transportive -- just solid. We were a little surprised by some of the modifications (Huevos Rancheros where all the constituent ingredients are carefully tucked to the side? No salsa picante available, not even a bottle of Cholula?) so as a "Mexican" restaurant it falls into the not-really-quite the way we remember it from home in California and fairly far from Mexican-Mexican fare. But if you take as the point of comparison the usual Greek diner fare, it's an excellent change of pace at reasonable diner-level prices. Warmly recommended for your comfort meal needs. read more

I really, really wanted to like this place -- that exterior is so cute! -- but it was an overall disappointing experience. The interior felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, so I left with my hair and clothes smelling strongly of fryer grease. They were out of what seemed like a lot of things on the menu, some of which we were told about after we placed our orders and told we had to order something else, and some of which we only discovered when one plate was delivered with missing cole slaw (and no offer to replace it with something else. Plus, isn't it kind of weird for a diner to run out of coke slaw?). Our very young waitress seemed to be struggling and accidentally dumped some food onto the table. Finally -- and what brought this review down to two stars -- the fries were undercooked and soggy. I've driven by this little gem often, and each time I swear I'm going to try them. Well today was the day! I ordered through DoorDash, so I don't have any info on their customer service. However, I can talk about their food. My 9 year old ordered the French toast and bacon, my 14 year old got chicken tenders and fries. Both loved their food, and that's saying a lot from these two picky eaters. I ordered from their Mexican menu, and all I can say is, "Wow!." I started with their tamales which were flavorful with just the right amount of kick. My main dish was Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, which roughly translates to shrimp with garlic. The portion was huge. It came with refried beans and rice. The shrimp were butterflied and has such an incredible flavor. The rice was incredible, and the refried beans were delicious. I've eaten at some other Mexican restaurants, but The Point Cafe soars leaps and bounds above the others. read more

The restaurant layout is casual and cafe-like with Mexican flair and a diner-y feel. The food breakfast options include traditional American fare that you'd expect from typical diners (eggs & meat, corned beef hash, omelettes, pancakes, etc) Tex-mex/Mexican options, and some smattering of Italian and Greek options as well. The menu was pretty large and there were lunch options too. Prices were reasonable. The server was really friendly and the food came out quick. My boyfriend and I were swayed by the sausage gravy options so we ended up ordering almost the same exact thing. He opted for the country fried steak topped with sausage gravy, and eggs. I was sold on one of the specials-a sausage gravy topped Benedict in which the meat was replaced with a sausage patty. Sausage galore. Both options came with a choice of home fries or hash browns. I was psyched by the latter option since homefries (blah) typically accompany most breakfast options. I've always liked the crunch/crust and taste of hash browns better than home fries. What a find, a Mexican cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with Mexican dishes as well as American cuisine. We had breakfast with great coffee. I ordered a mushroom swiss omelet with sides of either refried beans, potatoes or fruit. The omelet was great and the refried beans excellent. My dining mate ordered the Point Greek omelet special that came with potatoes and toast. Everything cooked to order. The waitress told us all sauces and salsas homemade as well as most everything else. The restaurant is bright and clean with friendly service. Food came out hot, plated nicely with good portions. Prices moderate. I loved the fact that one could order Mexican breakfast such as Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros. The menu also features, salads, burgers, wraps, American breakfasts, Greek specialties, as well as popular Mexican main dish and Mexican appetizers. Kids lunch on the menu too. You need to look past the exterior and give this place a try. Since this is my first time, I am reserving the right to amend by review with subsequent visits. We had breakfast here this morning. We were greeted warmly by Karen. She was a ray of sunshine. I had your basic egg sandwich. Even the egg was over well instead of over medium, it didn't matter. It was still delicious. My daughter and husband had breakfast burritos and they were very happy. I stole the salsa sauce that went with his burrito which I put on my egg sandwich. Yummy. I think the true testament was the six police officers and the big crowd of people that followed. It's not fancy but the food was good and the service was excellent. I love this place. I have yet to have an issue with their food and their service is always great. I mainly order breakfast to go. Now I won't say it's a unique crazy place, we're talking a normal eggs, toast, home fries, french toast type deal. The french toast is very good. They definitely don't cheap out on the bread. Eggs are always cooked and home fries are crispy and not burnt. Where I think they shine too is they don't cheap out and give you basically nothing besides your breakfast. Some places you have to be specific about syrup or something in the bag. This place always includes the sauces. I have had lunch here too with my mother. Both of us really enjoyed our meals. True story: my French toast had baking soda topping instead of powdered sugar. I was given a discount, but that is actually quite disturbing if you think about it. Thank God it wasn't some kind of cleaning supply. Obviously, they don't have everything labeled...or not correctly? The wait staff were nice. The lady I told about the mishap didn't understand my tone when I said that the topping was baking soda, confusedly. "This is baking soda?" "No, it's not." "Yes, it is baking soda, I just tasted it." What a pleasant surprise to find this place, despite the fact that you cannot miss its yellow facade when driving past. This place should absolutely be at the top of your list for breakfast spots if you're in the area. Very good food, very good pricing. I went there for breakfast with two others. My girlfriend and I both ordered the breakfast burrito, and while I was impressed with the quality of the food I did find the seasoning to be a bit bland. Side of hashbrowns were great, and the portions provided were perfect. My father ordered apple pancakes with a side of fresh, of the bone ham. Looked great, and the pancake batter they used looked to be very dense. Definitely a cake. Coffee was great. So rare nowadays that places have good coffee it's worth mentioning, but it was always fresh, never acidic.
