2 eggs, breakfast potatoes and crispy bacon
    Annmarie L.

I'm not one to complain but I had breakfast this morning at the Halfmoon Diner and was surprised at the lack of taste my meal had. There was no seasoning on the breakfast potatoes/home fries or the eggs. I also remember the potatoes having sautéed onions included, there wasn't any in my home fries. The glass of juice which came with the meal has been reduced to maybe 4 oz, it was larger. My sister had pancakes and she was happy with her meal. The service is still great. Very attentive and friendly. Just hoping they improve the egg breakfast.

Great diner. Those bad stars are misplaced. It is a real nice shiny silver diner, with people that actually welcome the guests. The food (see pics) was made fast and served hot at the counter! Fluffy pancakes were plenty fat and tasty wraps, too. Fantastic all round diner food in a clean spot! Good for bar hopping: it includes a full service booze and liquor rack. Review: 5+

    Roasted turkey sandwich

Not sure what's happening or this is just how they make it. Ordered a roasted turkey sandwich. Only got turkey and lettuce on the bread no tomato no mayo, not even cheese, dry as can be. Not sure if you're cutting corners or trying to save on cost, but it's a little disappointing and doesn't make you wanna return or order again

Chicken salad with bacon on rye toast

Visiting the area while my mom is in rehab. On the way home I remember this diner from when I used to live here. Decided to give it a try. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich with bacon on rye. Asked for lettuce tomato on the side and coleslaw. It honestly came out pretty quickly and brought it home and it was delicious! Huge serving and I think I'll have lunch for tomorrow. The coleslaw was nice and milky and had a little sweetness to it which I wasn't sure I would like but I loved it! It went great with my black raspberry milkshake I got it Stewart's. Haha. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and it even looks like they have a full bar if you feel like a cocktail.

Lunch at 1:15 pm on a Wednesday. I do not think I have given a review with Two Stars before. So I am thinking: Is it justified? It is. Let me count the ways. I ordered the Wednesday Special of Pot Roast. It was tough, inedible! Please check out my photo! The vegetable was mundane. The salad had past due pieces of lettuce in it. The Italian Wedding Soup was good. This may sound petty, but the one package of crackers served to me was in pieces. When I told the server I could/would not eat the beef, he said I could pick out something else. He never came back to the table! No eye contact. Walked briskly by booth several times. My husband had the Eggs with Virginia Ham Breakfast. He ordered wheat toast but received white bread. The home "fries" were unique in look which was a surprise. The potatoes were sliced thin; they looked and tasted steamed. Bland. The eggs were fine, and the slice of ham was large. $15.49 The server only charged us for the breakfast. Right thing to do. Just when I thought nothing else could be sketchy. The woman at the cash register was having an animated conversation with someone on her ear bud. Rude. No eye contact. Barely mumbled a thank you. We decided we will never return to this diner! Too many negatives including mediocre food, poor service , and bad attitude from server, the older person in charge, and cashier. Sign on jukebox at our booth said Out of Order. The diner seemed out of order. We are regulars at the Blue Ribbon in Schenectady that is a first class diner. Consistent good service and food over the years. Even the desserts in the case at Halfmoon Diner appeared to be inferior in variety and appearance to those at the Blue Ribbon.

    Greek salad, added gyro strips.

Translucent fabric above the deck helps to diffuse the strong sunlight. While the draft beers available are not likely to attract those interested mostly in craft beers, the variety offered should be sufficient to accommodate those looking for a good brew to pair with the food they order. And we're talking about homemade pub food. While my companions chose sodas to go with their burgers, I decided on a Fiddlehead IPA ($5.50). My wife ordered the Cheddar & Bacon Burger (19 klams) and two of us ordered the Smokehouse Burger (19 klams). All burgers are half-pound, hand-crafted, freshly ground beef served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a grilled brioche roll. They are also accompanied by fresh-cut fries and pineapple slaw. We all ordered our burgers medium-rare, and the kitchen complied. While the Cheddar & Bacon Burger is self-explanatory, the Smokehouse Burger includes a brown sugar BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and a homemade onion ring. The bacon on all our burgers was thick, crispy, and very tasty. The side of pineapple slaw was fresh and flavorful, the fries were better than average, and the rolls were soft and tasty. There are a number of other items on their menu that look inviting. I unfortunately, only took a photo of one side of the menu, but that should be enough to make you want to check them out. They also offer specials each night. Did I mention the complimentary bowl of popcorn?

This is a true American joint with typical American food. Wings were decent, quesadilla, macaroni salad and fries were great. I'm yet to eat the wrap as I was stuffed and had to bring it home. If you've never been here before, I highly recommend trying two items in particular: 1. Beer cheese dip 2. BBQ (Or any other) mac & cheese I should note that the BBQ mac & cheese (previously the Memphis BBQ Mac) recipe has changed over the years, so this review may not hold forever. That said, mac & cheese in general has been the most reliable item on the menu for me. I've tried plenty of other dishes here over time -- fish & chips, burgers, fish and chicken tacos, and nearly every mac & cheese variation -- but I'll stick to reviewing what we ordered on this visit. This time around, my wife ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the BBQ mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious, and the BBQ sauce added a nice sweetness that paired really well with the pulled pork. The fish and chips were also very good. The fries were a bit soggy, but since we ordered to-go and they had to survive the drive home, I won't knock them for that. Portion sizes here are fantastic and easily justify the price. I love this spot -- it's a dependable comfort food destination for me. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to beer recommendations. I've been to Innovo Kitchen in Latham several times over the years and I've enjoyed it every time. They have a unique menu that changes periodically, but I always find something that catches my eye. The interior has an industrial feel which I like, with a lot of exposed brick. The tables are made from old bowling lane wood, which is a really cool touch. When you walk in there is also a bowling pin displayed in a glass case. I remember there being a bowling alley somewhere in that plaza when I was a kid, so it seems likely the building has some history tied to that. The tables are also nice and large, which makes the dining experience more comfortable. Tonight I ordered the Monte Cristo burger which is described as battered Buckley's Bread sourdough, a 6 oz special grind burger, Taylor pork roll, Swiss, and Twin Leaf Farms maple aioli. It was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the hint of maple syrup flavor on the burger. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were also very good. Another person in our party ordered the White Chicken Parmesan, described as a crisp chicken cutlet topped with ricotta and garlic spinach and fresh mozzarella, with garlic parmesan cream and lumache pasta. They said it was delicious. Someone else had the Crispy Skin Salmon and enjoyed that as well. A child at our table ordered macaroni with red sauce. The portion was surprisingly large and they liked it, which is impressive because they are particularly finicky. For dessert we ordered something we've had here several times before, the peanut butter mud pie. It's basically ice cream in pie form with an Oreo cookie crust and chocolate fudge. It's very tasty and also a generous portion. At the end of your meal they also offer everyone at the table a tasty piece of gourmet chocolate. One thing that really stood out tonight was the attentiveness of the management. Two different managers stopped by our table at different times to check and make sure everything was good. I recognized one of them because I've seen him there before and he always seems to make a point of checking in with guests. The other person had seated us so I initially thought she was the hostess, but after she stopped by during the meal I asked if she was a manager and she confirmed that she was. I mentioned that I was impressed that two different managers had checked on us, and that every time I've dined there a manager has stopped by to make sure everything was good. I thanked her and told her it was appreciated. During the summer and fall they also have a very nice patio area for outdoor dining. On cooler nights they have heaters and a fireplace which makes it a great place to sit outside. I will definitely return here again in the future. 5 stars
