First time here. My 11 yr old granddaughter and I arrived at 10:30 on a Wednesday. Parking is easy. We had our choice of seats on two sides and selected a booth. The restaurant is spacious and includes counter service. The server Kylie pleasantly and quickly greeted us with a request for beverages. She was attentive and efficient throughout our stay. We ordered ice water. The decaf coffee ($3.19) with refill was excellent. Menus are in the table along with jelly, creamers, and ketchup. Many tables were occupied by seniors or families. The AC was pleasant as well as the subtle background music. There is a Seniors menu and one for Children. I had the Popeye Omelet ($12.79) with spinach, bacon, mushrooms, and jack cheese. It was folded in the correct omelet style. There were hardly any mushrooms (not fresh ones) in it. I could taste the bacon bits. There are two long lists of sides--one included with the meal and the other with upcharges. I selected Grits which was included and three strips of bacon which had a surcharge of $2.99. Grits were delicious, but it was a a meager half cup portion! See photo. Bacon was good. The portions in my selection would not have pleased someone with a larger appetite. No doggie bags needed here. Diners generally have more generous portions for about the same price or even less. Would have liked to try the home fries. Granddaughter ordered a Cheeseburger with American Cheese (plain) and regular fries as a side ($10.49). Curly fries were also available. The brioche roll was nicely buttered and toasted. She said burger was good. She is fussy and said patty was too wet. She is a fan of Five Guys. She rated the fries as average. Service was Five Stars. Ambiance was Four Stars. My wife & I had breakfast today and both really enjoyed the experience. She ordered the eggs Benedict with Corned beef hash and I went with the pancakes, eggs & meat combo. We both were very happy with the Corned Beef Hash, it's home made right on premises daily. Food came out exactly as we ordered, food was hot and tasty. Service was above normal... our waitress was named Racine according to our receipt and she was excellent. It was my son's birthday and he wanted waffles. What's the place that's close to my house, thats open early so I can get back home by 8.30am to take a conference call and something that I haven't been to before.....the choices were limited but then there is this franchise that actually approached me for a loan while I was in lending. It's been more than 3 years since they have been open and I haven't been there....so today was the day. The reason I haven't been to is because they close early so they provide balance to their employees with kids (let them pick up or cater to kids after school hours). I fear I always eat too quick before getting a picture but their breakfast burrito smothered in queso is literally amazing. The waitresses are always so nice and attentive. This establishment was recommended by my friend and her daughter, so we had breakfast here before heading to the Sasquatch festival Saturday. The setting is basic but bright and bustling with groups and single diners of all kinds. There was a good sized crowd when we got there but we were seated right away and had coffee brought shortly thereafter, waitstaff there can really hustle. The orders followed soon after. My tasty avocado toast was exactly what it said, a single toast, with scrambled eggs and hash browns exactly as I ordered. It was good, but I had hoped for more than one toast. My friend got the Garbage breakfast which she said was tasty and filling (despite the name) and her daughter had a combo platter with eggs, bacon and hash browns that she really liked. Her boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich which was a generous size and which he enjoyed. Overall this was a good experience the food was filling and good and the service was speedy and thoughtful. Chain restaurants are not my usual thing BUT this one is THE BOMB. I sure learned a few things going a few times. I do love their fluffy omelets. I hate the flat dried out ones you get at some restaurants, but theirs is YUM. This time around not only did I get the omelet but I also ordered an English muffin and never had one so good. It was grilled and crispy, I am a fan. But not really a fan of their pancakes which taste premixed. Do like the coffee in the cute mascot egg mug. First time here. When me and my family came in, the place was clean, and semi-packed. The sound of people talking and eating was comforting. It is self seat8ng, which is nice. The waiter came over promptly with a kids menu, and took drink orders. They came out quickly. We ordered and were shocked how fast the food came out. I got the country skillet, 2 eggs, biscuit and sausage gravey, with mushrooms and hashbrowns. The gravey tasted bland, like out of a can. The mushrooms tasted and felt the same. Nothing to go out of your way about. The wife said her meal tasted bland as well. Sadly this will be our only time here. I had high hopes for Jimmy's Egg. Friends of mine RAVE about this place and sometimes send me pictures of gigantic pancakes. So, maybe I need to try the pancakes? The 2 stars are for the coffee and the server. Coffee was strong and our server was fan-friggin-tastic. She was honestly almost too good for this place based on the food. I had the "almost healthy" skillet with a side of fruit salad. The skillet had "almost" no flavor....so I drowned it in hot sauce and ketchup. The fruit cup was just a few grapes and some slightly hard cantaloupe. My companion had a mixed breakfast with bacon, sausage, sunny side up eggs, potatoes and toast. Toast was burnt. Sausage was standard frozen-patty style...probably from SYSCO. Bacon was thick cut...one slice was barely cooked and the other was super well done. Eggs and hash browns got OK reviews. The other reason for only 2 stars? It took a really long time for the food to arrive. We waited...and waited....for simple breakfast items. I might give this place a chance again in the future...it was really busy and some of the sweet items (pancakes, cinnamon rolls...etc.) looked like they might hit the mark more than the savory stuff. read more

From the outside, Jimmy's doesn't look like much. Inside the decor is contemporary, clean and bright. A very good stop for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Best breakfast in the Capital Region. The kitchen and staff work like a well oiled machine. Service is prompt and courteous while serving excellent, hot, fresh dishes. The atmosphere is definitely diner, but acoustics allow easy conversation. The food is fantastic, the corned beef hash is made in house and probably better than any you have had before. This is the only place within 50 miles to get a decent bowl of grits. Is this a chain restaurant? I don't like chain restaurants. I was in Clifton Park waiting for family at a Doctors appointment and was in the mood for breakfast. I found Jimmy's after driving a bit and decided to give them a shot. Growing up in Rochester, NY I ate plenty of breakfasts at Perkins Family Restaurants. Back then they were one of the creative breakfast joints. Now a days they would be considered pretty ordinary. Jimmy's has taken a very creative approach and embraced breakfast entrees from various regions of the U.S.A. The menu had traditional breakfast fare but also had nods to Southern, Tex Mex and Waffle House type offerings. In many ways this joint offers a breakfast greatest hits and you can create your own. So that is exactly what I did. I ordered the angry burrito which had a combination of chorizo sausage, potatoes, onions and cheddar cheese. They provided a fairly spicy salsa on the side. I thought everything blended well together and I loved the heat level. For my sides I went with biscuits and gravy and hash browns with onions and cheese. The biscuit was definitely not homemade but it worked fine with the sausage gravy. I wouldn't order them again.The hash browns were brown and crispy and they left the griddled onions and melted cheese on top which I found interesting but also delicious. They offer scrambles, interesting french toast and pancake options and have a breakfast specials board. They offer lunch too. This is not Madison Cafe by any stretch. Shortcuts are being taken with preparation and they get visits from Sysco for sure. That being said, Jimmy's is a fun spot and deserves credit for creativity and variety. read more

Pleasantly surprised. The website is full of stock photos that just aren't very appealing and the fact that it was another chain moving into Clifton Park had me skeptical. But the reviews were good and they had a coupon in one of the mailers so I gave it a shot. Upon walking in it had the look and smell of a Denny's. At this point I was even more prepared to be let down. Looking thru the menu they have a large selection to choose from. And you can pick your own sides. You aren't just stuck with toast and homefries like most places. You can even get mini pancakes or biscuits and gravy at no additional charge and premium sides for $.99 more. Since I wanted to sample as much as I could I got the Traditional Breakfast with eggs over easy, corned beef hash, double blueberry pancakes, and hash browns with cheese and grilled onions. The corned beef is homemade and ranked alongside all my favorites from the area (Ugly Rooster, Illium, Infinity). The pancakes were run of the mill except for a topping similar to blueberry pie filling and whipped cream, but that didn't do anything for me. I am however a big fan of any place that has hash brown, especially when I can get them covered with cheese and onions. Ironically the eggs looked the least appealing out of everything but tasted fine. I also got to taste the cinnamon roll pancakes which were excellent, although extremely sweet.
