I need one of these near me! Picture this....a Starbucks but the line actually moves, the coffee tastes good and the bagels are made fresh. Stopped by for coffee and a quick breakfast sandwich on our way out of town. Parking lot was nearly full but it's shared w a smoothie place and other businesses. That being said, almost everyone was at UG and for good reason. The line was out the door when we got inside. I was discouraged and ready to angrily wait, but I was wrong! The line moved quickly and a staff were friendly for a busy morning. I had the summer blend hot and wife had an iced latte. The hot coffee was tasty. Low acidity, smooth and balanced. Only complaint was that it could have been just a click hotter for me. I don't necessarily want to burn my esophagus, but this was only lukewarm. The iced latte was delicious. We each had an egg sandwich on a bagel and they were terrific. Soft and chewy bagel with plenty of flavor. We took a couple cookies home from the case and Oh Em Geeeeee! Phenomenal! Whenever I'm traveling for work, I'm always on the lookout for spots that have: 1) Great coffee 2) Great savory breakfast bites So many coffee shops nail the first count but miss on the second (lots of pastry cases but not as much savory options). Uncommon Grounds nails it on both counts and is a great spot to get a little work done to boot. Stopped by this location when I was in the area for some coffee and breakfast. I'm usually in search of sugar free options as well as milk alternatives. Uncommon Grounds had a couple sugar free options (yay! caramel and vanilla) and a few different milk alternatives. I got a caramel latte made with almond milk and it was dreamy. For my breakfast, I got the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich on a salt bagel. It came with egg, spinach, avocado, tomato, and a bit of pesto. Delicious! The only tiny thing for me was the tomato made the sandwich kinda slippery and difficult to eat so the next time I ordered it (which was literally the next day), I got it with double the spinach and no tomato. The service was really lovely and the prices are reasonable. They're a popular spot and were pretty busy when I was in and even with that everyone was so kind and helpful. Get to it! read more

Sit get a great bagel and cream cheese with a cup of coffee or a breakfast sandwich or a quick lunch. There is usually a line but it moves fast, service with a smile which can make your day. When the sitting area is full it's a little noisy but you can carry on a conversation. The bagels are fresh and soft. I enjoy a nice ice coffee especially in the summer. My go-to breakfast spot when visiting Clifton Park. Their bagels are delicious and the espresso drinks are great. Some of my favorite options are their seasonal flavors, like the cherry blossom latte in the spring or the Christmas cookie latte in the wintertime. Their occasional offering of cannoli cream cheese is also delicious. Be prepared for heaps of cream cheese, which is a plus for me. There is also an option for a smear of cream cheese if you want less. Service is quick and friendly, and there is plenty of seating inside and some outside, too! The art on the walls is always changing and fun to look at while waiting for your food or drink. read more

Great coffee and bagel shop. The staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. You can sit at a booth, a table or the counter. Their coffee selection is extensive and they also have a variety of teas, too. During the summer I opt for ice coffee. I appreciate that they have ice water available for patrons. Uncommon Ground bagels are so good, I prefer them not toasted. My favorite flavors are the oat bran and cinnamon and raisin bagels. I always request a thin schmear of cream cheese as they have a tendency put too much cream cheese on the bagel for my liking. Uncommon Grounds offer several flavors of cream cheese, my favorites are the honey walnut and the garlic . It is the perfect place to get together with a friend, enjoy a cup of coffee and a bagel. It's taken me many years to get here even though I'm in the neighborhood several days a week. It took a craving by my wife for a bagel with cream cheese after our walking exercise at Clifton Park Center. I'll admit up front that I have a favorite bagel source, and it's located in NYC. But I'm willing to try other local bakers' efforts with the hope of finding a second choice. I can't recall if I'd ever had a bagel from Uncommon Grounds when I visited them in Saratoga more than twenty five years ago, so this was like virgin territory. Service was quick and friendly around 2:30 in the afternoon and most of the tables were filled with customers. We ordered a toasted Everything Bagel ($1.30) with Light Plain Cream Cheese ($1.80), a toasted Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel ($1.30) with Light Veggie Cream Cheese ($1.80), a medium Cinnamon Coffee & a medium French Roast Coffee ($2.55 each). Our order was ready for pick up as quickly as we were able to find a table. Our order number was not announced but my wife found it ready for pickup as she inquired about the location of the restrooms. We were not questioned whether our order was for dine-in or take out, but our receipt said, "Take Out" and the bagels were bagged even though we planned on dining in. Since we shared half of our bagels I got a good representative taste of each. The Jalapeño Cheddar bagel had nice flavor and a decent chewiness, but it still lacked a texture quality that I look for in a bagel. I think some of the texture issue was the result of the cheddar in the dough, but it was a fair tradeoff for the ensuing added flavor experience. There was a little jalapeño flavor whenever you found a bite with a small piece of the pepper. It was not spicy. The light cream cheese with veggies was plentiful enough that its lightness did not disappoint in the anticipated bagel with cream cheese experience. The Everything bagel was closer in texture to what I experience when eating my favorite NYC bagels. The good chew was there, and the overall texture was decent. It still seemed to be missing something, however. I joked that it must be the NYC water. My wife enjoyed her cinnamon coffee, commenting that it did not leave an artificial taste on her tongue. My French roast was decent but lacking a boldness and richness that I prefer in a dark roasted coffee. This is really a comment on several locations because they're fairly consistent. Hot drinks have all been solid. Tea, coffee, cappuccino, etc. Prices are an A+. Service is consistently meh. Aside from a couple of very friendly staff, most visits are met with employees moving like they just woke up resulting in lines. Never bothers me because I usually go there to get a little work done, but it's not a place I'd go if I'm in a rush. Well to be fair, the airport team is always EXCELLENT. Here's my only negative. I just bought a dozen bagels and they were hockey pucks. I tried. Couldn't do it. Inedible. But weird because I usually grab a breakfast sandwich at their airport locations the they've been very good. Did I get a horrible batch? Idk? Seating is tight. I'm part of the problem. Lots of students. But I've also seen couples, friends, retirees, etc. not on any tech enjoying a long conversation with their group which I think is a plus. Wow, the bagels here are incredible. I wish I could go back in time and eat one right now. One of my college best friends grew up in Cohoes. When I knew I was gonna be in the area, I asked him for his favorite coffee shops. He told me he always came back here for a bagel when he was in town. I'm so grateful I visited. First of all, this space has great natural lighting and plenty of seating options. It's super cozy and has a local feel for being a chain. There were people around us with laptops so it seems like a good place to work. There were also lots of people meeting up too and some just reading. It's a versatile spot. I loved our barista. Not only was he charming and easy to talk to, but there was a moment where he thought I grabbed the wrong drink and he chased me to warm me (I can't have milk so this meant a lot). We resolved the drink thing quickly and I was grateful for his help. I hate to admit that I did not like the drink. It was some pumpkin snickerdoodle special drink and it was a really confusing flavor for me. I did however adore the bagels. My fiance and I decided to go halfsies on a sausage egg cheese on cheddar parm bagel and the flying pig on an everything bagel. They were divine. My favorite was the cheddar parm bagel, it was just so delicious. I highly recommend stopping here for a delicious breakfast or lunch bagel. read more

Food Service Ambiance This place is evidently a local staple and we totally understand why!! 10 out of 10!! It was Packed when we walked in but that was no issue! The line went FAST, the service was spot on, and the place is awesome looking. Everything was "To Go" but they have good seating available. Even with it packed for the holiday there were plenty open areas if we had wanted to sit. We got the Lots of Lox on the Rosemary Olive bagel! I loved it!! The Rosemary Olive bagel was a great touch to add a spice of flavor! Loved that Savannah suggested that! I got a quad shot vanilla caramel latte which she also made perfect! My son grabbed a Western bagel sandwich on an everything bagel. He said it was 9 out of 10... then corrected 10 out of 10, would recommend! It looked pretty epic although I didn't try it. It was very busy on an August Friday morning but it ran like a well oiled machine. Employees all quick, efficient and friendly enough. I got a large pistachio latte and jalapeño cheddar bagel with lite veggie cream cheese. Both delicious! I luckily got one of the few comfy cheers in the joint and took my time reading and sipping my latte for an hour or so. No one made me feel rushed despite how busy it was. I also like lox of love, the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich etc. It can be really hard to find a seat, so timing is key. If there is a long line, no worries. The staff expedites so fast. This place has one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I have ever had!! Uncommon Grounds advertises itself as a community café that specializes in fresh-roasted coffee and freshly baked bagels. The café is warm, inviting, calming with art work and a social activity hub. They have 3 locations(been to all 3) around capital district and this location in Clifton Park is the most convenient to me. The other locations include Saratoga and Albany. I ordered my chicken salad sandwich on a jalapeño bagel with tomato, lettuce, green peppers, onions and jalopenos. I try a different bagel each time and my favorite would be the everything or garlic bagel. I f I not mind their tuba bagel sandwich too but I just cant get rid of the lingering taste it leaves behind. Take your laptop, catch up with your friends or you want to just go sit there to waste some time and find your inner peace......this is the place to be. read more

Had seen this Coffee Shop pop up on Yelp whenever I search for a good place to work from. Finally got to check it out, didn't realize that they're more of a mini-chain. I guess my expectations were of a cute little mom & pop place. Pros: Appreciate the Small sized options for Specialty Drinks. $3.50 for a Honey Rosemary Latte. Really Good! Not a fan of either flavors usually, but this was both pronounced & subtle. Not too sweet or too herby. The girl at the counter said that they add Rosemary in the Espresso Grounds & pulled together & the Honey is steeped with the milk. I got it Decaf & it was smooth & medium flavored. $5.50 for an Almond Tarte was a little pricey. It was good & soft. Don't think it was GF. I've had other Santiago Cakes & am wondering if this is based a little off of them. Ambiance: Very Standard & Corporate looking. It is spacious & there were small booths and tables, high top tables near the windows. Walking in I would've expected a Barnes and Noble attached to it... There is a section in the back for local art, the same abstract landscapes that you see anywhere. Again, expected something Unique for this Coffee Shop & disappointed. Their Merch was cute & they have beans & blends for sale. It was very clean and they blocked off tables for social distancing. Noise is a problem if you're there to work, you can hear every conversation. Can't remember if there was music playing. The area near the window is more sectioned off, but probably more cold. Cons: The pastries look like something from a wholesaler, frozen cake slices. Don't know if this is because of the pandemic, but feel there could be more In-House Baking offered overall. There was lots of bags of "Day Old Bagels" for sale, leftover probably due to the pandemic also. I don't think they're NYC-style bagels- if you know what I mean... This place is conveniently located near a number of hotels in the area so it made a great stop when we opted to not eat breakfast at the hotel. It has some lot parking that it shares with other businesses including a Smoothie King. The offerings are primarily coffee and espresso drinks as well as bagels with cream cheese and various bagel sandwich creations with eggs and cheese. My love got a massive bagel with egg, cheese and ham and I opted for just an egg and cheese bagel. Service is quick- order at the register and wait for your order to be called out for pick up then proceed to choose some seating. They have a variety of booths and high tops. Looks like this is popular working/ studying site with a lot of college age folks on laptops. Interesting (local?) art work on the walls. Horrible seating. So coffee is good, service is good, baked goods are.....good! BUT best of luck finding a spot to sit in there especially if your a group of 4. I don't go there any longer with the family as there are individual college students with their laptops taking up all the booths and half the tables, all the time, that are built for 4 people (They don't sit at a table for one unless theres no other choice). One student per booth!!!! All the time. Every time I've gone, ever since they opened the Clifton Park location. 1 student, 1 coffee, at a table for 4 probably sitting there for 3 hours, lol. It's not a library folks. At least the Saratoga location is larger and can handle the squatters taking up half the seats for 4 hours. Try limiting individual Wi-Fi access to 1 hour maybe so these selfish people move along. I'll just go to MochaLisa's across the street, plenty of seating. read more

Never been disappointed with their sandwich.. love the chicken salad sandwich. It's a bit expensive $8-$9. If you want a bang for you buck, you can get 8oz box of the salad and get a couple of bagels and make your own sandwich for 1/2 the price. Also look for a bag of their day old bagels, they are pretty good. Everyone is so cool and happy and singing when you're inside it makes you happy just being there. With that being said the service is perfect you never leave with an issue. Uncommon grounds vs West End: the battle for bagel supremacy My family and I were just having a debate. Which bakery makes a better bagel? The skinny: First things first, both are awesome, serving up NY style bagels and you cannot go wrong. The service in both locations is great and you will leave very satisfied. The difference: Uncommon simply has a wider selection of bagels, smoothies, baked goods (muffins, scones, cookies ), and a coffee bar that makes expresso drinks and lattes. Some purists may argue their focus is all over the place so how could their bagels possibly be as good as a shop dedicated to them? I'll leave that up to the beholder, but for overall experience and a damn good bagel, my vote goes to Uncommon read more

I ordered a cold brew - Monsoon Brazil bean, medium roast and a 24hr brew time. It was pretty weak sauce. The flavor profile was mostly water with a hint of rancid. I don't recommend. I also ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel toasted with butter. It was rather lightly toasted, just warm with no golden or brown coloring. If you like your breads toasty, request they make it so. This place is a go to for us for breakfast and even lunch on a whim. The food is always fresh and on point, we've had just about everything on the menu and it's all delicious. If you like lox and cream cheese, the lox here are sooo good! we love the atmosphere here and have never had an issue with staff or our food. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because I feel they could be a little cleaner. This place is always poppin' so I feel cleaning tables off (inside and out) in a prompt manner is important here. A lot of the times I end up wiping a table off myself for us to sit. I'm quickly becoming addicted to their mocha lattes. I first tried one at the Albany location and now at the Clifton Park store. What a great flavor they have. On my first mouthful I got a rich, chocolatey flavor. First, the creamy rich milk hits you then you get a rich dark cocoa finish. Oh and a nice smooth coffee flavor in the middle. As an aficionado of all types of coffee, I appreciate a well made cup. I drink it black, with cream and sugar, with almond milk cold, hot, almost anyway. My only criteria is good flavor. When I want a treat I'll drink a flavored latte. This fits the bill in that category. Some other flavored lattes I've had are much too sweet. When I order at Starbucks I request half of the syrup. No need for that here. The only food I've had here so far are the bagels. They are very large, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. They are quite good if you aren't comparing them to Long Island or NYC bagels. In my perhaps biased opinion nothing compares to them. But they are good in there own right. I enjoy the very tangy flavor of their salmon cream cheese too. A few more pieces of salmon wouldn't hurt though. I really like the layout of the Clifton Park location better as well. Nice wood everywhere and a lot of light. The employees seem more organized here too. I especially like that you can order food and drink at the same register right up front as opposed to Albany where the register is in the middle and it's confusing. At least it was for me. I will probably go to the Albany location again though simply because it's closer to home. read more

We're visiting family in the area and were looking for a warm, friendly, not a chain, coffee shop. We were so happy to find Uncommon Grounds. It is a small, apparently, two shop chain (one in Clifton Park and one in Albany, NY. A little on the darkish side inside, but with lots of wood paneling and a nice quiet-ish atmosphere. Coffee, bakery, salads and sandwiches, but of good quality. Worth the stop and bag Starbucks and Dunkin. Try it you'll like it. read more

Their selection was very small since it was the end of the day. I asked what was available, very little and then asked if I could get the bagels for the 50% off, which they refused. Really?
