    Very Berry Waffles

I happened to be in Ballston Spa to meet with a colleague and looked up "vegan breakfast". I came upon Iron Roost. I ordered the very berry waffles and a latte. Everything was great. I wanted to sit and dine but the wait was about 40 minutes so I decided to order my food to go. It was packed perfectly as not to get soggy. I will definitely be back to dine in soon.

Just visited this little gem in downtown Ballston Spa. Street parking was not a problem thankfully! Cute little cafe style eatery/coffee shop with additional goods to buy up front. You order at the counter first and then get a table after ordering. It takes a little bit to get used to but the staff were very friendly and told you exactly how things worked. Food was good and you can tell most (if not all of it) was local. The sourdough was chef's kiss!

Tiramisu waffles! Good gracious!!! Every visit is a fabulous experience

Every visit is a fabulous experience! Their coffee is the best in town and their breakfast is bar none the best in town!!

    "Wonder Woman" special waffle.

Iron Roost always delivers quality service, a warm, inviting atmosphere, and stellar food. I've never been disappointed. They cater to all different tastes and dietary needs. Their lemon berry waffle is my favorite sweet waffle and the southwest fiesta is my favorite savory waffle. But waffles aren't all they have...their bakery items are also top-notch! The only thing that I can complain about is their hours. Since Covid they aren't open on Sundays anymore and closed on most Saturdays. This is when I, and most people, can come. Now I just go on special occasions when I have off and can go during the week. But my Sunday morning breakfast with my husband there is no longer a thing...and that makes me sad. I hope one day they can reopen consistently on the weekends. But if not, I'll be sure to visit on my time off.

I had a great meal at the Iron Roost many years ago but somehow never did a review. I went back with friends recently and had another great meal....and took pics this time. I didn't remember ordering first and then choosing a table, but maybe it's been that way for a while. I love the chill vibe and super friendly staff. They have a great menu and had some excellent specials. Everything is made to order, served hot and fresh. I had the special egg sandwich and it was perfect. Rave reviews on all of the other meals. I really need to get here more often.

Can't believe it took me so long to come here! I had the french toast latte and berry bliss waffle with bacon and it was delicious. The waffle was fluffy and the side of bacon was a generous serving. I think my favorite was the whipped cream. It was so thick and creamy!

Such a perfect little place nestled into the storefronts of Ballston Spa. You order and pay at the counter and they bring everything to you. We had the quiche of the day-bacon, cheddar and scallion and split a berry waffle special. To drink we got iced lattes. So fresh-farm to table- perfection. They also had frozen meals, bakery items, specialty items and other grab and go items. Definitely worth the stop!

Gosh, I never heard of the Iron Roost before and I went there for breakfast and it was amazing. Clearly the locals have discovered it and love it. I got vegan waffles with blueberries and they put a blueberry in each of the waffle indentations. They really care about their food and the presentation. They have lots of great vegan and non-gluten options as well as a complete menu with gluten. I would go back in a heartbeat, in fact, I would think about moving there just because of Iron Roost.

Such a cute place! The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I love the style of their scrambled eggs- they use a pull and swirl method. The waffles are fun and indulgent. My son always gets a big smile on his face when I tell him we are going there for breakfast. He orders the waffle sticks with chocolate sauce. Their whipped cream is homemade and probably my favorite. I normally get the Ballston Cream waffle. The early riser is also a solid choice with that clutch sourdough toast.

When I explained that I drive by all the time but it was my first time in, they welcomed me and thanked me for my business! They were very gracious when I needed a few minutes to review the menu and answered all my questions with enthusiasm. I just couldn't believe how good the service was! I ordered the Lox bagel sandwich, I believe it is called the Fisherman on a toasted onion bagel with a Chai tea latte. They have an impressive selection of cream cheese flavors available (I chose the bacon scallion) and they loaded my sandwich with delicious fresh veggies! Both my sandwich and my latte were absolutely wonderful! I was honestly shocked how on point everything was! No criticism and no critiques, please just keep up the good work and the food quality and I will be back soon! Definitely check out their website for business hours before heading over. It's a cute family friendly establishment and they had more tables than I thought. I was pleased to see that they had a wide variety of coffee drinks as well as good bagel and breakfast and lunch options. It was unfortunate that I already had other plans for breakfast, so I only got a large hot mocha coffee to go. Service here was fast and everything seemed to move along smoothly. I wanted to love my hot mocha but I thought it was just okay. The coffee and chocolate flavor didn't have as much depth as what I'd like. Maybe they are known for their other coffee beverages and breakfast and lunch options. I'll have to revisit and grab a bite here next time.

Great flavor and great texture; and, I appreciate that they use organic ingredients. I actually wouldn't eat there if they didn't. The bagels are honestly amazing. They are the only bagels I will eat because they are organic sourdough (it's the only non-gf I'll eat). They are crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, just how a bagel should be! Whenever I've ordered a bagel and cream cheese (which is more than a dozen times), they've always been very generous with the cream cheese, which I appreciate! They've also got more than just bread. They sell some local gifts and things: flowers, crocheted items, little crafts, chocolates, etc. Their cookies are soooooooo delicious. We always get at least one to enjoy after we eat our bagels. :-) There is a small sandwich menu (no hot items though - like no hot egg sandwiches, just egg salad). They also serve hot coffee! One tip: Go early. They often sell out of bagels and treats, especially on the weekends! It's just a really solid spot with really good food! Definitely worth checking out!
