Very friendly place for brunch. The French Press coffee was really delicious, as was my 'Sconewich.' Service was perfect, and the booths were comfortable. Plus the prices were right!

Showed up right when they opened and was so thankful we did! They filled up fast. Coffee was decadent hot, and the afternoon tea was delicious. Really cool booths and our server was friendly and able to keep up with the busy time. Absolutely will be back!

3 tiered lunch with chipotle chicken ciabatta sandwich, roasted red pepper soup and nutty monkey crepe

I stopped in at the Whistling Kettle Saturday and was excited to have a savory crepe. I was there late morning and was seated right away. First off the tea house vibe in here is super cute. I'm not sure if it was only the front where I was seated, but it was very dim. The rest of the establishment seemed well lit. I would've liked it to be brighter at the booth where I was seated. If you're here for teas, their assortment cannot be beat. We were told that the tea list is pretty much endless and on the board further into the eatery. We placed our drink order and got a peach iced tea, strawberry smoothie and iced matcha with vanilla. The drinks were really good except for the iced matcha. Sadly It was rather bland and room temperature at best. Next we placed our meal order and we were really hungry, so ready to eat! The service here is extremely slow and you can't be in a rush to get out. It took about a half hour for our food to get to the table. The 3 tiered lunch with roasted red pepper soup, chipotle chicken ciabatta and nutty monkey crepe along with a banana foster crepe and lobster bisque soup finally arrived. Unfortunately there was a mix up with my savory ratatouille crepe and soup as it was the wrong order. The crepe that came to me was incorrect and served with kettle chips as opposed to the roasted red pepper soup I ordered. Thus the rest of my party began eating without me while I waited for my soup to start. After a little bit my soup came and shortly after came my savory crepe. It's important to note that the soups here are delicious, however all lukewarm warm upon first taste. You really have to stir it up to ensure that your soup is hot through and through. The chipotle chicken ciabatta bread was nice and toasty and crisp but the chicken inside it was dense, under seasoned and dry. The only taste that stood out in the sandwich was the mozzarella. My savory ratatouille crepe had ample roasted vegetables and goat cheese but the vegetables within were seasoned just okay and I did not get the freshly roasted taste. The bananas foster crepe was good but did not get to the table hot. The real disappointment was the nutty monkey crepe as the edges of the crepe were dry and there were only two small pieces of banana within. It did have a nice amount of nutella but all in the center of the crepe. Basically the only good part to eat was the middle of the crepe and the rest was dry so it remained on the plate. The place was busy for a Saturday but no long wait or frazzled staff from what I could see. Unfortunately this was not the best experience so perhaps I will give them another try, when I am less famished and with more time on my hands. Overall a warm and cozy place for tea and an ample indoor as well as outdoor patio dining space. Perhaps this is an isolated incident and my server was having an off day. The eatery is in the center of it all so a nice place to stop in for tea.

Came here with my husband for lunch while visiting the area. Enjoyed the afternoon tea special. I liked that the menu gave full portions and a nice variety of items. Loved how they presented everything on the tiered plates. I tried the turkey brie crepe, house salad, and berry scone. Everything tasted delicious. The server was nice and helpful. Overall would definitely come back again!

I love you, Whistling Kettle! Whenever I am in town visiting family I make it a point to stop in here. Service has been spotty and the biggest area of complaint I've had over the years. The food, presentation, and tea selection is excellent and hasn't wavered. This visit actually was the best service I've received so far! Friendly, welcoming and very nice, efficient and good recs all with a smile! I always order the Tower of three choices, served on a tiered platter. This time I got a nice garden side salad with the monte cristo savory crepe and the berry scone cuz the cream and jam sides. All was delish and large crepe made me have to take the scone home! It used to include a tea drink but that's fine. I happily tried the strawberry guava tea cold and it was really yummy not too sweet yet didn't need any additional sugar. Still good, with even better service, I can't rave enough.

The "5!" The RARE 5. Everything was exceptional: the food, the service, and the tea. The leftovers were exceptional, reheated! Visited on a Friday afternoon about 4:30. I had the Tower ($20): Turkey, cranberry sauce and brie crepe Cup of lobster bisque ($5 extra) Mixed Berry Scone w/"cream" and jam. The cream was part cream cheese, mixed with... idk. Sour cream? Goat cheese salad (+$4) I'm almost afraid to recommend it and find it impossible to get a seat next time.

While we didn't like where we were seated, I still give the Whistling Kettle 5 stars. A friend recommended the Whistling Kettle as we were visiting Ballston Spa for an afternoon with out-of-town relatives. We were seated at the table nearest the kitchen/server area which was a bit loud for our taste. The restaurant seemed to be rather busy/full so we pushed through. They have a wonderful and interesting selection of teas and coffees. Their food menu offers a wide variety as well. The dining experience itself is wonderful as they have beautiful cups and saucers and serving platters and trays. Our server was delightful which helped make for the best overall meal. If (WHEN) you go, ask to be seated nearer the front of the dining room.

Afternoon tea with Quiche of the day, Lobster Bisque, Berries and Cream Crepe and a strawberry mimosa.

I have been to this location several times over the last year (since it first opened), and each time I had been impressed with the cleanliness and tidiness. Today was a very different story. As soon as we entered I could see that the place was a mess. Toys were all over the place, nothing had been neatened up, and the foam floor pieces were buckling in several spots. We arrived at about 2:30pm and we were the only customers, so it seemed odd that it was such a mess. The sand pit area is overrun with toys and the kitchen area was trashed. The round sitting bench that used to spin no longer does (we were told it broke), and there is a random metal climbing dome with a slide that has paper and tape on it, seemingly covering screws or something. For the price of admission (25.00), I can't say I will hurry back unless I learn that things are being better maintained. I never understand when places start to grow, but as they do, they let other things go. The appeal of the Littles Play Cafe was the trust I had in the cleanliness and maintenance, but today I lost my faith. I hope they do better, because when it is good, it's a nice place for little ones to play.

Both the pecan pastry and the raspberry cheese danish were great! No complaints! Where this place falls right off the cliff is service. It's cold and rude. No if's ands or but's about it. And after my experience, I went and read all the reviews. This is a thing apparently. And to make it worse, the owner, instead of apologizing with humility and concern to the guests that keep him in business instead writes entitled zero accountability messages back to patrons after leaving bad reviews. Honestly that's immature and short sighted. The good will of the public doesn't last forever. But on the other hand, if you desperately miss the rudeness of Europe then this is truly the place for you!

Can't believe I just heard of Mom & Pop's; clearly I've been living under a rock. This family owned business knows how to provide delicious food fast!
