Little Pecks has been on my list forever and we finally tried it out today. We were warmly welcomed and the suggestions made with our order were fantastic. I ordered a matcha, lightly sweetened, and a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuit was perfect; not greasy and the perfect texture. I found this sweet gem on Yelp while looking for a coffee spot while visiting Troy for the first time. WHAT A FIND. I absolutely love all the outdoor possibilities you have. From working/dining out front by the street with plenty of tables, chairs and just a chill little vibe if you want the street action mixed with a bit of people watching and enjoying the outdoors. We stopped in for coffee and it didn't rock our world. My cappuccino was average and the americano was like diner coffee. Although it's kinda cool inside the bathroom is dirty. The service was slow because they're so busy and they ran out of ceramic cups for indoor dining. But seriously...I have, more than once now, found myself sitting in the backroom of Little Pecks for 2+ hours sipping delicious coffee, reading, and getting work done. The ambiance of warm sun, combined with the brick walls, plants, and subtle sound of running water makes for an elite experience. The coffee is sourced from Tandem coffee roasters based out of Portland, ME, which is a roaster that I have found never disappoints. Drip is excellent, and the espresso beverages are always well made (I recommend a cortado or an espresso tonic). Food options are spot on as well. The vegan breakfast burrito is top notch (no, i'm not vegan...but that doesn't matter), and the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is fantastic. This spot really checks all the boxes. Easy breakfast spot! On a morning out, I grabbed an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich to go and was taken a little a back on the flavor. Essentially, if you love burgers, then you'll LOVE this breakfast sandwich. With pickled zucchini and their special sauce it tasted like a Big Mac but if they swapped the patty out for egg. Absolutely love coming here for breakfast! Anytime we visit Albany, we have to stop by. Their breakfast burrito hits every time and their lattes are made with homemade syrups! Visited this relaxing cafe for a quick breakfast with friends and found it was full of little joys in every corner! Located inside was the front counter and the shop section to the right. Straight ahead from the entrance was the hallway that led to the patio. As for food, I ordered the egg + cheese biscuit with additional bacon. This was a powerful combination that was much too delicious and flavor-packed to not order another one to-go. My friends and I enjoyed our hot food and well-crafted coffee in the patio, which was definitely the noteworthy spot at Little Pecks. I loved how tucked away and timeless it was. Great study spot! I've come to this place a couple of times with friends to study and it's so cute and makes a great place to focus! The greenhouse space is super open and bright The coffees are really great and the food comes really quick as well. Convenient and interesting, Pecks is a fun place to get food and drink. It's got a trendy atmosphere staffed by fun folk. When it's busy, it can get backed up at the order/pick-up area, but it generally goes fast unless you're behind a larger order. I do need to brush up on their menu though, before I order next time. I ordered an "Americano," thinking it would be the same type of drink as I get by that name in Montreal. Big difference, as theirs is a chilled brew; not what I expected, though still good, tasty, and refreshing. Took a day trip up to Troy with no real destination is mind. After walking around the town Wide farmers market, we passed little pecks and saw they served tandem coffee (a favorite) so we stopped in, and decided on grabbing food as well. It was a small menu, but mighty. I went with a caramel pecan boozy cold brew which was fantastic. Also went with a peaches and cream French toast, which for me is a risky choice considering I usually go savory at brunch. It was one of the best French toasts I've had and the peaches were perfectly ripe. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito which was pretty standard but packed with flavor. If I'm ever up in Troy again, I'll definitely be stopping in for round 2. read more

This is a very belated review, but little peck's deserves to be recognized! Recently they have been getting overlooked by other newer coffee shops. But for the record, this was HOW Downtown Troy or "North Brooklyn" came to be. little peck's (cafe), alongside the former Peck's Arcade, The Tavern Bar & Lucas Confectionery, is run by Clark Hospitality Group. Literally you could have all your meals around this block of charming businesses, each with a unique atmosphere & menus to boot (pre- and post- dinner drinks as well). But back to little peck's! I think they're still a great intro to Downtown Troy, for those new to Troy, students, out-of-town visitors, work meetings, older crowds & even families. The space serves coffee & teas, curated wine & local beer, breakfast/brunch items with *just* enough unique ingredients to set them apart & a lil fancier from other cafes. Order at the front counter, the staff is sweet and patient in the explaining menu items. There's 'The Grocery' to the right side with more cold drinks & old & new school Italian & snack items, little peck's merch. You get a number and the space is yours to get comfy! I don't know how to describe it, it's a mix of warm reclaimed, retro, mid-century, industrial design, that weirdly works well together. I mean- even the bathrooms are interesting! Pre-pandemic, there were a few tables to sit indoors (now the area's for cooking pizza), the back covered patio is always open (and has such a nice hidden garden feel), the 2nd floor, with large rooms for special events/dinner during the evening, has some cozy chairs also. It's just a great non-pretentious central hub to meet, mingle, get creative. Occasionally there's live jazz/music in the back patio on Monday nights. During the Summer, the sidewalk seating out front and communal tables in the street is THE SPOT to be, with a DJ on Fridays. There's been a few changes with the menu since I started going there in 2017- which I felt was their height of quality & chefs. But I still mostly go for their $5.75 biscuit breakfast sandwich with $2 bacon (light on the fry sauce!). The biscuit is dense & flakey, nice cheese, quality bacon. It's an interesting twist on the breakfast sandwich with slivers of pickle & fry sauce. This is still great for lunch also. My other go-to (also very affordable) is the $5 Tahini Butter Toast. This is a "grown-up PB & J" & SO delicious. THICK cut griddled bread, Tahini butter is Sesame butter & when I used to order it, the strawberry (maybe + Rubarb?) jam was a nice compliment. I wonder if this is seasonal. I've had their Stuffed French Toast, which was enormous, but a little too sweet for me (there was a mix of caramel creme 'stuffing,' pear jam, hibiscus syrup.) It looked gorgeous though! They used to have an delicious Nicoise Tuna Wrap with capers. A Flakey tuna salad bursting with flavor- I'm not even a huge fan of tuna! Searching for a late lunch, I've had the Farro Bowl(old menu), Quinoa Bowl & Tahini Kale Salad. All were fresh & good but not too filling for $10 each. Back in 2017, they were serving Cups of Bone Broth, riding that bone broth wave & it was tasty. I remember a piping hot lemongrass ginger one. The baked items are huge & spot on in quality. Back in the day, there were unique corn & blueberry cookies and compost ones. Still a huge fan of anything brown butter. Their German oat chocolate chip cookies, brownies & blondies are tasty. ($2.75 - 4) Follow their social media for daily specials & bakeds! The drinks! The first time I've had a Iced Cardamom Latte was at little peck's and it was amazing! Wish they would bring that back. I feel the coffee is generally smooth and medium. May have had a Chai or Matcha Latte there, but neither were memorable. Have tried an Orange Blossom Turmeric Latte during a Troy Night Out "Hot Chocolate Hop." It was just okay. little peck's is 4-4.5 stars for me. Not totally 5 because the offerings and quality was a bit better in the past. But hoping this charming space will be around for years to come. It reinvents itself a little bit each season, I'm excited to see how it continues to grow. read more

Yay! What a fun find. We weren't planning on being in the area on our road trip but ended up rerouted and decided to spend a bit of time in Troy for a stretch and to caffeinate. I'm so glad we did! Checking out coffee shops is one of my favorite things about traveling and places like this are the reason. What a cute place for a meal! Went here with a few friends for an outside dinner. I was immediately invited by the bustling and fun Friday night vibes of Troy, and Little Pecks definitely added to the atmosphere. The tables were well positioned away from each other, and the service was good. There is a lot of outdoor seating, and they make sure to sanitize between customers. Our small group ordered a couple of pizzas. Both were extremely delicious and flavorful--I'd highly recommend their pizzas. While we didn't order other types of dishes, the pastas also looked very tasty after peering at other tables. I'd highly recommend this place on a warmer day to sit outside. I decided to come here for brunch because I have a friend in the area who highly recommends it. I believe their brunch is only on the weekends, so plan accordingly! I really love the garden that they have out back, it's the perfect balance of sunlight and still being indoors, and whoever takes care of the garden has a serious green thumb I was adventurous and got a rhubarb milk tea for my drink, which was very earthy but actually was quite good. I also got an avocado toast because I've seen so many people compliment it on Yelp, and...it was okay? I liked the extra crunch from the pepitas and the radish, but the avocado itself was not very flavored and was left in larger pieces so a whole lump dropped onto the plate when I took a bite. It's my favorite spot for avocado toast. The ambiance is surreal. it's a garden style dining area with sunroof. It's a wonderful spot for meetings and get-together as well as special occasions. You can also access Donna's and the Confectionary for shared seating out there. It's clean, and the plants are thriving. I love their delicious tea selection and many other items as well. From the cute shop connected to the coffee bar at little pecks, to the beautiful patio in the back, there's a lot to love about this Troy hangout. I swung by on a Sunday afternoon and the brunch menu was available. Since it was a little late in the day, I wasn't craving eggy options, so opted for the avocado toast which was topped with cabbage, chermoula, tumeric pickles and sunflower seeds. It was unlike any avocado toast I've had, in a good way. The bread was soft and easy to cut through, while the chermoula and tumeric pickles gave a Mediterranean taste to the avo, and the cabbage and sunflower seeds provide a nice crunch. Not to mention, it was beautiful! Just check out the pics. To sip, I got a peach sparkling water in a can. Wifi is free and open. It was a little slow, but I was able to get some work done. The patio features a lot of communal tables, while the inside has smaller ones. There were also a couple of outdoor tables in front on Broadway. Whether you're looking to score some solo work time, a biz meeting, or a casual convo with friends, there's a place here for you. This is definitely a spot I could be a regular at if I lived closer. Best breakfast burrito ever! Super flavorful, with this awesome jalepeno aoli. They have gluten free wraps and bread for the sensitive stomachs among us. The ambiance is beautiful. The large indoor solarium feels like you're outside while having some shade from the summer sun. I love most things about Little Pecks a whole, whole lot. I love the atmosphere -- their indoor garden is one of my favorite spaces in the region, and an absolute lifesaver in the middle of an upstate winter. I love most of the food -- that biscuit breakfast sandwich is an A+ treat, though occasionally I'll have to go scrounging for a salt shaker for some of their other options. My one, single, possibly unfair reason for lopping off a star? The coffee. I know that real third-wave coffee experts want the roaster to barely wave the beans past a heat source so that you can experience the ~subtle hints of oak and stone fruits~, but that kind of very acidic ultra-light roast coffee gives me heartburn, so I can't drink it at all. At some places that go for the third wave pour-overs I can still get a more traditional, smoother espresso, but at Little Pecks the espresso feels a little inconsistent -- sometimes I'll get a drink that I enjoy, but other times the espresso is still way too sour for me even when tempered by the milk in a latte or cappuccino. I'll keep coming back here again and again for the snacks and atmosphere, but a slightly darker-roast coffee option for those of us who can't handle the super-sour stuff would be a pretty awesome addition. read more

This is such a cool space to do work in. The menu is kind of limited, but has intriguing combinations on it. There is also coffee, tea, mimosas, and bakery items at the counter. The space is open, with multiple rooms indoors, outside, and in this greenhouse-y room with skylights. There is free WiFi and chill music playing, along with the quiet hustle and bustle of the kitchen. The food is pretty great as well. The breakfast burrito was just a little bland, and the French toast was delicious (it has some kind of citrus spread on it).
