The sandwiches are customizable with ingredients and breads and I had avocado which was fresh and good. The sandwiches come with a side dish and I got some fresh fruit. I saw their name. I wanted honey. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So, I entered their quaint little cafe and ordered some honey pancakes as well as a smoothie to go with the it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was thick, it was sweet, and it tasted great! Texture seems grainier than other pancakes so probably some more protein within it. I enjoyed the finishing touch of a bee design with the powdered sugar right on top of the pancake. We're in the area visiting a family member in the hospital, came in to decompress and get something to eat. Already a little challenging with celiac disease. Walked in and was greeted by a very nice young lady and wanted to make sure there would be no cross contamination so we asked if they use a separate toaster for any toast used in what we planned to order. The man in the back was completely dismissive and just rude and unclear until he finally blurted out "we would just put it in the oven we don't use a toaster". We went out of our way to get closer to him with worries he just couldn't hear us, but he just seemed irritated he was even being asked a question. The person with celiac is a large man who was planning to order a sandwich a salad and a smoothie but limited his order due to not being confident that his food wouldn't cause him to be severely sick. For a place who plasters inclusive messages all over their business we expected a tad more accommodation, but was greeted with an angry bald man instead. read more

Not at all welcoming when we arrived!! Not friendly, too busy to even say Hi! We really wanted to love a good coffee spot as we'll be moving nearby and would love to walk to, enjoy and support local businesses. We were a bit taken aback by the question of how we wanted our lattes... what...what?? The owner, rudely "explained" when we asked to enlighten us as we'd never been asked this before when ordering in a coffee shop. Ok, alright, two shots of espresso seemed like enough of a jolt...coffee ordered! Here is where things greatly improved, the coffee was EXCELLENT. Picked up lunch on a Thursday afternoon here. To summarize; mediocre. First of all I had to wait 30 minutes for a tube tuna salad sandwich and a salad. A bit long for such a simple order. The tuna salad sandwich was not tuna salad at all, just the standard tuna fish and mayonnaise. In a salad you would anticipate some additives (onion, celery, pickles) where unfortunately there were none. Quite disappointing. House salad was just not tasteful. I took one bit and threw the rest away. Overdone with salt, and pepper and just a bitter taste. The house made balsamic didn't impress either. The interior decor and ambiance was cute, and I could see myself sitting down for a cup of coffee here maybe. Well decorated and inviting. Nothing to note of service, just a standard college student cashing people out. A bit of a long wait for a salad and sandwich, but that's just me being picky. This is a great little neighborhood spot serving interesting and creative breakfast items as well as wonderful lunch sandwiches. A favorite of mine is the avocado toast with homemade chipotle honey dressing for breakfast and the buffalo chicken salad for lunch. The salad is a huge portion so I always have leftovers for dinner. Everything is made to order, so it always comes out fresh. There are a few tables and couches in the eclectic setting if you want to eat inside, and on nice days there are also tables on the sidewalk. Mr Bumbles Cafe appears to be off to a good start, redeveloped from the chain pizza takeaway at this location for years. The staff appears efficient, courteous and knowledgeable, as they adjust to this new locale, with quirky bee-themed decor and a fully open kitchen. The breakfast/brunch items are quickly prepared and simply presented. All of the tables are currently fitted with very simply constructed stools, not the most comfortable, but easy to clean during the current pandemic. I hope they soon expand their café options beyond just espresso. This neighborhood only has two current morning options for coffee: the chain mini-mart or the gas station, and unsurprisingly, neither is worth waiting in line. I was super hungry and just in the mood for a good sandwich. I've been here before for just a plain bagel and cream cheese but today that wasn't going to cut it. The owner of Mr. Bumbles was very rude yesterday. Ordered a cappuccino. There had been a new cashier training who had me repeat the type of milk I wanted when it deleted from the system - so the owner was there at that point. However, I get my drink and am making small talk with a friend about how much foam is in a latte vs a cappuccino, and stirring in the Splenda they had forgotten to add (which was not a big deal at all). He overhears a semblance of the conversation and gives an enormous attitude saying that's what I ordered and when I said I know I was just stirring Splenda in, he rips the coffee out of my hand. He then says if you want Splenda you have to order it at the counter because we froth it in the milk. I said oh.. I did.. and he rolls his eyes and gives an enormous Karen attitude saying "no... hmm.. you didn't.. I was there" with a condescending smile. it was kind of shocking the attitude and I really hope they tighten up the customer service because I do enjoy their sandwiches. But I was appalled, genuinely. Never had a drink ripped out of my hand to then by belittled for stirring in my own Splenda after they got my order wrong. read more

An update, one year later: I came back for lunch with my husband whilst lost in a post-gym hanger fog, and my five star review was proved totally appropriate. We got a giant roast beef sandwich, a bowl of excellent tomato bisque, an iced coffee, and possibly the best Cobb salad I've ever had (perfectly crispy bacon, hot and tender chicken, extremely fresh produce) all for $33.50. Just for reference, a Cobb salad at a different establishment nearby costs $22 just on its own, and I highly doubt that it could be any more delicious than this one. Me. Bumbles is still awesome, and may have to become our weekly post-gym go-to destination. read more

It's alright, although it blows my mind that I have to wait 25-30 minutes for a sandwich. They gave me my smoothie first, by the time I got my food it lost its cool. I didn't think they would take that long. I wanted to give my girlfriend a fresh smoothie before work, but I ended up missing her due to the wait time.
