Tried Arthur's public market today, very cute place selling tons of local and small business products. We got breakfast and it was very tasty. The quiche was good but a little heavy for me but had amazing flaky crust. Hubby got the breakfast sandwich which was good he said. I was very impressed with the shop and atmosphere and there was even seating outside in front and back. They had a window you could order from if you had dogs with you. Thought that was an awesome service. Honestly worst part was trying to find parking. Last time we tried we gave up after a few laps around the block. This time only took us one lap before finding one within walking distance.

I stopped by Arthur's Public Market on a recent trip to Schenectady and had a wonderful experience. Arthur's Public Market sets just the right coffee house vibes with comfortable seating, knowledgable baristas, and delicious espresso beverages. My hope was to get a latte and get some work done and I was able to do just that. They have small tables as well as a communal table and outdoor seating to boot. I was able to get a table right by the window which made for a lovely morning of working and sipping in the sunshine. I ordered a pumpkin latte from their seasonal menu. The espresso was rich and lovely and the pumpkin spice was pitch perfect. It was a delight. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. Get to it!

What a cute little place! Seating inside, outside or out back on their patio. Wonderful baked goods. The tart is to die for. I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin and it was the best! Avoid the weekend it's very busy, but stop in and check them out! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is fabulous! Nothing like sitting outside in the Stockade! Go ahead, treat yourself! You deserve it!

In a delirious state of mind, I decided I would try to stay awake for 24 hours and coffee hop. I drove over to Arthur's, and it was a blustery, cold day with sunlight reflecting off the snow. The inside of the shop was warm and cheery, with people socializing and studying. The cashier recommended the almond croissant since it was only available on the weekends, and I got a caramelized honey latte. The almond croissant hurt my pockets a bit, it was $6.25 and it was good, but I've had better :( The latte was amazing though! There was a deep, satisfying aroma and the latte was very rich. It's a little out of the way for me, but if I ever have a free morning I would go back and try some of their other drinks and pastries!

Such a cute cafe/grocery store to do work or have a hang out with friends! Arthur's has such a great open space for work with communal tables that are great to share! Be sure to come with devices charged since outlets are limited but the windows and ambiance are great! I love the local products of honey, crackers, jams, eggs, nut butters which were so cool to see. The cafe also served great food, I loved the coffee and the quiche was delicious too. They also have many GF options and delicious pastries! It can get busy but definitely worth a visit!

This Stockade market offers a comfortable retreat for a coffee social hour or lunch. The food offerings I repeat are the ham and gruyere sandwich, quiche, every flavor scone and cappuccino. Recently the coffee drinks have been served in disposable cups which is tragic compared to a cup and saucer when dining in. My typical visit is a weekend morning and apparently alot of others pick this time too. The seating is family style with many reading and completing assignments on laptops. The market section revolves frequently with cookbooks food items and beverages. The Market also hosts food and drink events advertised on Eventbrite. I suggest saving time to walk through the stockade when you visit Arthur's. It's a beautiful visit year round.

Stepped in to a cozy and beautiful establishment today on a whim. Was looking for delicious coffee, check! A little sweet treat for later, check! And a light lunch, check! The place for adorable stocked shelves of market fresh items, filled case of baskets goods, Everything was so clean, everyone working was helpful, all customers were happy. I'm absolutely going back and bringing others!

Nothing bad to say about this unobtrusive shop in the middle of a residential area. The building, built in the 1700's, is spacious enough for seating and a market and the counter. Love that they have a take out window! The tea latte was phenomenal, and the pic shown isn't my drink but so pretty I had to snap a pic. Great friendly service, too, even when I asked personal questions (about a piercing that she graciously answered).

Excellent coffee, peaceful vibes and delicious food. Our film crew rolled through last week and the owners were so gracious with us. I got a candle, card and a few books as gifts for friends. I also had an oat milk flat white, pumpkin latte, and the farro pumpkin seed salad. Everything was fabulous. So cute. Would return in a heartbeat

Food - BEC on their homemade English muffin was very good (best English muffin I've had) - they added a special sauce to it and it added a nice flavor Service - they had just opened up and our barista was friendly and patient Ambience - classic cafe vibe and would be a nice spot to catch up with friends or read a book 100% would visit again

Bacon egg and cheese sandwich and caramelized honey lattee

First time to Schenectady and this was my first stop on the trip and it did not disappoint! I got the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and a caramelized honey iced latte and both were delicious! The ambience is cute and cozy, and the staff were very welcoming. If I ever come back, this will be the first place!

Love love love Arthur's. Would go here every day for coffee if I was able to. Perfect place to catch up with friends, read a book, or do some work.

R Gershon's Deli (Facebook) Dear Friends of Gershon's, It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with our loyal customers, friends, staff, and extended family. I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Geshon's Deli & Caterers. Friday, January 30th, 2026, was our final day. This decision was not made lightly as Gershon's has been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. After my father's untimely passing, I took over with one clear mission, to honor his legacy, keep his dream alive, and continue providing quality service and "good food for good people." For more than 60 years, Gershon's has been shaped by the people who walked through our doors. Every employee, customer, client, and friend has played a role in our story and our success. Unfortunately, rising food costs, ongoing economic challenges, the lasting effects of COVID, and the loss of my final opportunity this week have left me with no other choice. To everyone who has supported me over the past nine years, thank you. Thank you for the memories, for trusting us with your celebrations, holidays, milestones, and everyday moments. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives, in both the joyful times and the hard ones. I will miss seeing you all more than I can put into words. I am deeply grateful for the love and support you've shown me and my family over the years. I wish vou all nothina but the best. Please take care

On good days, they can serve one of the best sandwiches. Otherwise, I've had several occasions where I was left wondering why my pastrami sandwich was literally two pieces of bread with a small bit of pastrami - no dressing or anything else, and no questions asked. I like the attentiveness of the staff whenever we come here in person whether for diner in or takeaway, and their fresh pickles are wonderfully crunchy and worth looking forward to. They have some delicious pies, too, and the chocolate cream pie is our fave. I would go back, but the inconsistency over time certainly has dampened my enthusiasm that I may have once had.

Ever since, I try to stop by about three or four times a year to enjoy the food and ambiance. The owners Mike and Barb are retiring 7/31/24 after fifty years. May they enjoy their retirement. The new owners, a couple from Schenectady, will keep the name and the menu. Bravo! It is a lot of work and long hours, but it was evident that the owners enjoyed their business and their customers, many of whom became regulars. You noticed that the food they prepared was made with love and expertise. It was consistently good. The menu has been constant over the years because it pleased customers and made the place a success. The roast beef and turkey are cooked daily. Plus, the potato salad and macaroni salad are made in house every morning by Barb. I had to stop by today to honor my memories of eating here over the years. I had a huge roast beef and turkey mix on rye with thousand island dressing and macaroni salad. Delicious as always. I took half home for my husband to enjoy. He did! My friend enjoyed a huge roast beef sandwich and a potato salad side. Even the dill pickle spears taste incredible here! It must be the yummy sandwich. We sincerely hope the quality and ambiance continue with the new owners. If that is the case, I look forward to supporting them. It is so much better than a chain restaurant.

Just me and the wife, snow coming down sideways, and this place is warm, welcoming, and absolutely cranking out hot food. And I mean HOT hot -- not "restaurant hot," but "careful-that-plate-is-trying-to-burn-your fingerprints-off" hot. Love to see it. Food? Super tasty. No notes. Service? Solid across the board. Bathrooms? Clean enough to eat off of (I didn't, but I could've). Parking? Plenty of off-street, no parallel parking Olympics required. Now let's talk about the hostess -- because WOW. She works the room like she personally built the place brick by brick. Touches every table, warm, friendly, checking in -- you'd swear her name was on the sign out front. Absolute pro. Hospitality Hall of Fame behavior. Between the legendary bakery, the attached restaurant, and the fact that they stayed open when the weather said "stay home," this place is a must-see Schenectady institution. Come hungry.
