Home made hot sauce is a must.
Peter H.

Second time here this week. Earlier this week it was for a business lunch. It was so good I brought my wife back on Saturday for breakfast. The place is small and unassuming, don't let that fool you. There are not a lot of off street parking. There is on street parking. They have counter service and table service. We came for the corned beef and eggs. My wife got the breakfast burrito. We needed to find a new breakfast burrito location as the Halfmoon Sandwich shop is no longer. The corned beef was delicious. The egg burrito was also delicious. I had to share the corned beef with my wife. You must have the home made hot sauce! Coffee was good. I never had an empty cup. Best part is the staff. The owner are super friendly. The combination of good food, great service and friendly staff will earn me as a long term customer. We will be back.

Great little find in Cohoes! I had an awesome ham and eggs breakfast. Cozy warm atmosphere where the twin sisters who run the place were so nice!! Service was very good, and plenty of coffee refills. Thanks to Yelp for helping me find it!! By the way, the place was spotless!!

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. Backnin Mt budding foodie past I grew up going to a local Cohoes institution known as the Golden Krust Bakery. The food was marvelous the servers had awesome personalities, and it was like a family. Well two of the servers branched out into their own endeavor Babe's Cafe. The twin sister owned establishment has become a fixture of Cohoes' daily life. Everything is made in the house down to the cold cuts and even the bread. The prices are very reasonable for food that is real quality food. The staff are kind and professional, and the space is clean. My Husband had a huge bacon and egg and cheese sandwich which he happily devoured and I had a plain Jane turkey sandwich on homemade white bread. It was so big that I couldn't finish it, with our beverages our check only came out to 26.00.

Walked in, immediately greeted with a smile. Walked out with a full belly & a smile! The bathroom was very well maintained. The twin sisters who own Babes are extremely genuine people. I promise no customer that sits down for service will ever have their coffee cup empty. We didn't come during the weekend for the corned beef has but it is highly recommended. We don't live local- but I definitely see myself returning for the service & food!

A friend and I came up to his neck of the woods in search of Pine Grosbeaks, an incredibly cool bird that only comes south, from the far north, only occasionally during food shortages. We saw seventeen of these birds in a neighboring community and while admiring the falls in Cohoes, I asked a local where two strangers could get a good breakfast. A quick reply, Babe's! A warm welcome. A table in a room to ourselves. Friendly owners. Working hard. Pancakes, a good omelette, great coffee. A wonderful oasis from the bitter cold outside. A few folks mentioned their hot sauce. I asked for some to take home. Delicious. i doubt I will be up this way again. But if I am, Babe's will definitely be on my itinerary.

The omelettes are fluffy and not drowned in grease. This is a cute hometown diner with good food. Home fries come with or without onions and green peppers, your choice! My mushroom and Swiss cheese omelette was good. Not too much cheese (you know how sometimes diners can overdo the cheese). I found that I can actually enjoy the egg part as well since it wasn't overrun with cheese or grease. The home fries were cooked just right (I opted for the onions and green peppers which were cooked just right too!). Complete with hot coffee and friendly service, breakfast was under $25 for two (I got a side of bacon mmmm). I have to ask though, what's up with the plastic spoons?

Simple Omelette (with Cheddar), home fries and toast combo. Absolutely delicious.

Packed full of people, but there is a reason why. Good stuff here. Haven't jacked up prices, haven't shrunk down portions.

The sitting space if I'm being honest is kind of tight with chairs backed up against the display divider for the line/counter ordering area. The benches up against the wall opposite counter are beautiful and force good posture. There were also some window spots I'd definitely aim for next time. The counter person was delightful no complaints. Explained the drinks and didn't rush us. We came later morning on Saturday, most of the bakery items were sold out. But what we got was amazing, a nice mixture of scones, perfection. I appreciated the mixture of small morsels, it included flavors that I would not have tried otherwise. I got a cream brûlée latte as suggested classic with a hint of sweetness, standard with double shot of espresso. My wife got a mocha variety definitely much richer. The art on top was also a nice highlight. As other reviews mentioned prices were not listed but this is definitely a specialty place so expect a higher price than a pump your own coffee express station. But also I rather give my money to a local place than a huge mass marketed place thats serving half the quality.

Alias Coffee partnered with 518 Craft and Primobotanica to open up in a shared space in downtown Troy, NY initially during covid. With good coffee and service, I'm sure they will have a successful future. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do taste it so as part of the yelp experience, community CO was thoughtful enough to partner with a small and upcoming local coffee shop on National coffee day and get us in for a cup of coffee. I asked the Barsita to make me the best drink from the available choices and was given a Cappuccino, which I took a sip and handed it to my dad. My dad did say the coffee was good and from my tasting experience, the coffee was smooth and had a bitter after taste (like a few people I know like it that way) and the taske kept lingering fir an hour. Service is friendly and street parking is easy; there is even a bus stop across the street.

I don't know if it's a placebo effect but everything I've ever purchased at FFF has been phenomenal. Knowing the produce is grown on the premises makes it taste better? It could sway my opinion to a more positive direction but there is no arguing with the sweetness of freshly picked sugar snap peas. I started snacking on them on the drive home and could barely stop myself. The clean earthiness of small beets, small enough to leave the skins on and roast them. Tastes like clean dirt. Love that. There was also a varietal of bok choy. Salt, olive oil, oven for a few minutes. That...just that...was dinner. It's a weird thing to taste how far away I've come from locally grown food; to have my tastes muted by a commercially grown industry. FFF food is like coming home to where we belong.

I knew nothing about this place when my wife suggested for a surprise lunch on a Saturday…read moreafternoon, and we had to rush over as they have limited hours. It was cold and raining outside and I was happy to get out of it and relax. Sadly, I quickly found out her surprise involved eating outside under a tent in the cold and rain on a November day. Sigh. At least they had blankets on the benches. We ordered in the far tent and the menu board was both helpful (it listed everything in each entree, including onions) and annoying (it indicated no substitutions were allowed, including onions). Not to be deterred, I picked the pepperoni pizza with hot honey, basil and Calabrian chili peppers. My wife ordered the Margherita pizza. Both were ready in about 15 minutes, but upon delivery to our table it became clear that a couple of things were off. First, my wife's pizza was cold and mine was pipping hot. Second, mine had so much basil- which in places was left in 2-3 leaf bunches- that perhaps they just cleaned out the pantry for the last order of the day. The crust in spots were burned, but I could live with that. However, it was so floppy that it couldn't be picked up under any condition. Everything but the outer inch of crust was like a thin wet tortilla. And their plastic cutlery wasn't up to the challenge, ripping the pizza toppings off and turning my pizza into a casserole. That being said, the flavors were wonderful on my pizza. The hot honey made for a really tasty flavor balance, and the copious amounts of curling pepperoni were a nice change of pace from the cheap stuff. The peppers were good too, and I wish I could source some locally. My wife's pizza was okay, though the whole mozzarella clumps reminded of dollops of Ricotta and they were very cold as if they were added after baking. Odd. I don't mind paying for expensive pizza if it is good. I am also not a pizza snob and will gladly eat subpar pizza. But, to overpay ($26 for mine alone) for pizza that is just a mess in a cardboard box rubs me the wrong way. The same goes for buying ($24) a cold pizza. The dessert we ordered was a Paris-Brest, and being a choux fan I absolutely loved it. Delicious with hints of coffee, almonds, nuts, and some flavorings I couldn't place, I would quickly come back here just for that. As for their pizza, I just don't know. On a nice pleasant day it would be fun, but too many mistakes on our pizzas makes me leery of ordering them again for those prices.
