Visiting the Maple Reserve was on my list of places to go while in Vermont this weekend. Touristy? Yes. Worth it? Heck yes! Stopped in on Saturday midday thinking I was going to get a latte and maple creemee. However when I get there, I saw some guys drinking beers at the bar which piqued my interest so I took another look at the menu. Why not get an Affogatotini? Caffeine and a maple creemee all in one! This was DELISH! The girls that work here are so nice. I visited twice in the same day and both times this place was swamped. They took it in stride and still had a smile on their face while working through the line. The Maple Reserve offers ice cream / creemees, coffee, pastries and serves alcohol. My order: Affogato (maple) The review: I wish I were able to come back and try literally every menu item. I saw one woman chilling on her laptop who had bought 3 things for herself: a cup of ice cream, some sort of cocktail, and a boba drink. She looked like she was loving life. Made with espresso from locally roasted coffee beans, the affogato with maple creemee was absolutely divine. They drizzled more maple syrup atop the creemee. It wasn't too sweet and just perfectly creamy, as the name suggests. I was pleased to see that there were many gluten free options, including the waffles, which come on sticks like popsicles. Would make the 3 hour trip just to try those one day. The Maple Reserve is definitely Aya-approved. read more

Came here while on the hunt for a maple creamee and ended up with cookies, gelatos, and coffees. The creamee machine was broken but we still got a taste! The peanut butter cup cookie was incredible. Everything here at The Maple Reserve was delicious. The maple creemees were the most delicious thing made with maple syrup that I've ever tried. I cannot recommend this place enough! We purchased bourbon barrel aged maple syrup and are curious to try it when we get back. They had affogatos, gelato, cocktails, kombucha, draft beers, special fresh made waffles with toppings, and had an assortment of Dorset Maple Farm syrup, mustard, and other items. We luckily stepped in to The Maple Reserve right before a huge rainstorm with thunder and lightening. We didn't plan to get maple cremees again because we already "did" that on our Vermont trip. The bobas drew me in but I ended up getting a cold brew with the maple cremee in it like a float/affogato. Just wow. This was simply amazing. This has to be the best cremee in the state because I can't imagine it getting better. And with the cold brew....magic. We are soooo glad we came here ... From Bourbon flavor maple syrup ... To waffles with maple syrup & maple sugar ... To bourbon barrel coffee ... Unique spreads like maple cinnamon peanut & pecan butter & pure maple butter ... And the waffle mix they use to make the waffles ... We loaded up so we could bring Vermont home with us. Extremely delicious Maple ice cream. The Maple Reserve sells ice cream, shakes, desserts and snacks. The space is half cafe, half retail, maple syrups, candies, maple sugar and little gifts/souvenirs. They produce their own syrup from their farm nearby. I bought a bottle of bourbon maple syrup after sampling their variety of syrups. I was told the bourbon maple syrup is infused with bourbon flavor from aging the syrup in barrel casks which previously held bourbon whiskey. I was thinking I could use the syrup in cooking and baking, to create a unique recipe. However, I still haven't used it! read more

Ah yes. This is what a call a good cup of coffee. Totally worth coming here just for a sip. It's a very minimalistic, modern space so don't expect to feel cozy and comfy. Nevertheless, you'll get that coffee shop latte you've been craving. It definitely meets my barista standard. They've got some pastries too. Very quiet, calm, and cool vibes. It does feel a bit empty though. I wonder if they'd attract more people with just a bit more seating? Check this place out. Get your fill on caffeine and then eat your breakfast somewhere nearby. Good: all the sweets made with maple syrup by the owner! YUM!!!! Bad: Espresso. Like really bad. After seeing bags of beans on shelves from various roasters - several single origin - I asked what beans were used for espresso. I was told basically they didn't know - just something provided by subscription as part of their espresso/coffee machine; didn't bode well. The espresso I got was a very dark (traditional) roast, which I suppose would be fine if there were no alternatives. But the volume of espresso was bizarrely large - on the order of 60 - 80g, which made it the largest volume of espresso I have ever been served. The result was very watery - almost like just a tiny cup of coffee. My advice to the owner would be to first have someone properly tune your espresso maker. You should be using 18-20g of grinds - and I suspect the existing grind is too coarse so the espresso us under-extracted and getting 36-40g of espresso. Second step is to switch away from whatever beans are used and try one of the specialty beans you carry by the bag. This would bring the coffee experience up to the high level of the maple syrup, sweets, and gifts in the shop. read more

My families desserts and coffee were good. There was an incident with the heating grate on the floor. It was not secured to the floor. My wife sat in her chair and the chair leg went through the hole in the floor. As a result she hurt her back. I reported it to the woman behind the counter and she said she knew about the broken heating grate because the same thing happened to someone else earlier today. I barely got a sorry out of her. I felt she took it lightly so I spoke to someone who seemed to be the owner. He was very indifferent and took no accountability for heating grate being loose. He blamed the landlord.
