    Raspberry Donut

I struggle with my rating but wanted to keep it honest. First let me start with the donuts. We had a red raspberry filled and a blueberry. Both delish. We also had egg sandwiches. Here's where the issues came. Friend #1 sandwich came not on the croissant she ordered. Friend #2 sandwich was missing the potato patty. And mine came on an English muffin rather than toast. We brought 2 of 3 issues to their attention and they did fix right away. The sandwiches once fixed were good however. I would give them a second chance if I was local.

I was visiting Manchester for the day and we drove past this store and I had to double back to try it. I love donuts and everything I've eaten in Manchester thus far was amazing, so I had no doubt this spot would be good. When you enter you're met with a display of a gorgeous array of donuts that are nice in size. I was surprised to find out they're all like $2 and some change (I'm coming from a city where donuts typically go for about $5+ and they're much smaller). The donuts were nice and soft and not overly sweet at all which were right up our alley. They also have other baked goods like cinnamon rolls (which were massive), muffins, and pies. We initially were only going to order half a dozen donuts but somehow we ended up ordering 12...no regrets though. The staff was so sweet and inviting, we didn't mind buying more. They also have sandwiches, and we ordered a couple of those, they were super tasty and very fresh. The only thing is that there were quite a few bees by the window inside the shop, making them quite close to the donuts and other baked goods. Even though they were chilling, bees still scare me so I kept my distance. All in all next time I'm in Manchester I would absolutely visit here again, and recommend anyone else to do the same!

5 stars for their friendliness and stellar service. The great donuts also help too. My family was dropping in after seeing their sign and each of us were choosing a donut. My youngest didn't want to pick one cuz she noticed there was no strawberry donut on display. The kind worker (who I think was one of the owners) asked if she could make a donut for her- what would it be? My kid immediately brightened and said strawberry please. She went in the back and made a giant donut filled with strawberry jam and topped with strawberry whipped cream. She really went above and beyond to make our day. My kid gobbled up the donut so I'm assuming it was delicious. If you are in the area please stop by. It's a cute old school donut shop.

Stopped in on a sunday morning on my way out of town and even with the rush the staff were attentive to my father and I at the counter eating our breakfast and we got a dozen delicious donuts to go! amazing food, amazing service and a very cute interior, I will be there again!

To reiterate, BEST donuts I've had. Came to Stratton and had to visit Willoughby's again. Brought a dozen back for my family as well. Will always visit when in Manchester. Got to sit at the counter and talk with the staff. They're extremely friendly. When we were there a guy came in who was a regular for 22 years. I can see why! Our favorite donuts so far are the honeydew, old-fashioned and cinnamon raised. I prefer the yeasty donuts that are not as sweet. My boyfriend prefers the cake-style donuts. Both are delicious and have a great texture. Think a little bit of crunch with a fluffy interior. It's everything you'd want in a donut. Willoughby's makes it hard to eat donuts from other places. Nothing compares.

    My weekly Saturday order.

Great donuts and an amazing cinnamon roll the size of a hubcap. Very nice staff and easy to get there on the way to the mountains.

Located in Manchester VT a very homey little candy shop…read more You walk into this place in Manchester and just kinda think...why does this store fit perfectly for where I am at at this moment? It's truly a pleasant little store. The lady seemed a little weirded out when my brother and I first walked in. We were in Manchester for the night, on our way back to NY from a week in Maine. She looked at us like....hmm I dunno, don't wanna say anything mean bc she wasn't mean lol, she just looked at us ... weirdly lol. Not sure how else to put it. As our visit went on she ended up being very nice. I just hope she didn't think we were in there to like...steal a couple pieces of candy hahaha. I mean, we aren't 10 years old anymore lol. She then went on to tell us about the store and how all the candy is made there (pretty sure that's what she said). I just remember thinking....how wonderful that this stuff isn't imported from places like...ugh China! They have everything! Every possible kind of candy you can imagine...she has it. She gave us a free sample and it was amazing! There are few great candy shoppes in Manchester. This one is definitely one of them. Prices are a little...high. Just a heads up if you go here. Couple things to consider as to why tho... 1) it's Manchester VT. It's a very bougie little town. Only makes sense most things are pricey there 2) privately owned 3) candy is made on site 4) it's Manchester Vermont lol Should this stop you from going? Absolutely not. Even if you're just in to look...it's worth it. Really a cute store. I hope to return to it one day. Living in Idaho, I rarely make it to Vermont lol. BUT IF I DO! I will for sure head back into Mother Myricks! Thanks for reading, YelperMyrickers! Cheers!

I also bought a peach-raspberry muffin and a blueberry muffin. The muffins looked great but were without ANY flavor. Downright awful, not sure what that was about, but the chocolates were very good. I don't think they were quite as good as Lake Champlain chocolates, but they were a close second. I always appreciate the freshness factor (in addition to flavor), so it mattered that the orange peel and apricots were very fresh. If we are ever in the area, I'd come back here for sure, but I'd stick with the chocolates only. No more baked goods !

Visiting the Maple Reserve was on my list of places to go while in Vermont this weekend. Touristy?…read moreYes. Worth it? Heck yes! Stopped in on Saturday midday thinking I was going to get a latte and maple creemee. However when I get there, I saw some guys drinking beers at the bar which piqued my interest so I took another look at the menu. Why not get an Affogatotini? Caffeine and a maple creemee all in one! This was DELISH! The girls that work here are so nice. I visited twice in the same day and both times this place was swamped. They took it in stride and still had a smile on their face while working through the line. The Maple Reserve offers ice cream / creemees, coffee, pastries and serves alcohol. They have a little area where you can also buy pure Vermont maple syrup, jams, sauces, small kitchen accessories, etc.

I saw one woman chilling on her laptop who had bought 3 things for herself: a cup of ice cream, some sort of cocktail, and a boba drink. She looked like she was loving life. Made with espresso from locally roasted coffee beans, the affogato with maple creemee was absolutely divine. They drizzled more maple syrup atop the creemee. It wasn't too sweet and just perfectly creamy, as the name suggests. I was pleased to see that there were many gluten free options, including the waffles, which come on sticks like popsicles. Would make the 3 hour trip just to try those one day. The Maple Reserve is definitely Aya-approved.
