I had some time to spare recently after dropping my dog off at a veterinary clinic in Troy. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast Plate which turned out to be the most expensive breakfast on the menu. It came with a lot of food. It included eggs, Simit ( a Turkish sesame bagel), grapes, toast, honey, olives and cream cheese. I also ordered a Turkish coffee which is a little stronger than what I'm use to. It hit the spot. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant small but clean and cute. It looks as though the owners might have added a table. There are three or four tables in all. There's a new partition in the kitchen providing a little more distance between customers and those working on food prep. Gone are the beautiful ornate gold detailed Turkish dinner plates and teacups. I found them charming though not practical. I sort of miss them but they looked like heirloom items which wouldn't be appropriate for day-to-day use. They've been replaced by simple white dish-ware. Much more cost effective. FYI. There are no restrooms for customer use. That issue never came up for me but an older couple came in looking for a restroom and the owner advised them to go to the fast food restaurant down the street. As for the food, it was every bit as good as I expected. Some things don't change. I took the leftovers home and made another meal of it the next day.

They initially said it would be a 45 minute wait, but it actually turned out to be less than 10 minutes. We were greeted by a very lovely, smiling and upbeat young lady who took us to our table for 2, which was wick followed by our equally lovely waitress. The food was excellent and the syrup of course was perfect. We enjoyed seeing the young families and couples all sharing large family style tables and enjoying the moment. Quick tip: get there around 10AM after the rush and you should get a table pretty quickly! The ride up to the farm is fun and provides an excuse to drive into the hills that you may not venture into otherwise. Despite there being a sign that stated "No outside food and drink", my mother (a senior) has brought in her purified jug of water MANY times with absolutely NO ISSUES. That is, until today, when an ill-mannered, condescending, and unprofessional bartender came up to our table and told her that she could not have her jug there. My mom looked at him and was like "it's water" and mentioned how she always brought in her water with her... His response... She either brings her jug out the car or he will have to take her jug, empty its contents and fill it up with their water... Ummm...okay... a bit threatening! So apparently he seems to think he has a right to confiscate someone's personal property now? What is he - a freaking bar bouncer? With all due respect but there was a better way he could have handled that and he failed miserably with that one... Needless to say, (currently) we won't be back, nor will we recommend this place to others. To the owner (if you are to ever see this review; let alone care about your regular customers), is it worth losing customers over a JUG OF WATER?! If so, you deserve to lose your customers, and I can only hope you lose more in the foreseeable future.

Lots of booths and high tops and the noise level wasn't too bad given how packed it was when I went. I went with my kiddo during a holiday, so the wait was a little longer than I was anticipating. However, the food was hot and fresh. The beans I had with breakfast were definitely not from a can. I will come back later and try the lunch menu. I love a local greasy spoon!
