Buttery, flaky, and croissant-like--definitely a must-try. The Swiss and mushroom omelet was cooked to perfection, and the bacon, eggs, and home fries were all excellent. We especially appreciated that nothing was over-salted--something more places should do (you can always add salt, but not take it out!). The homemade wheat toast, made with King Arthur flour, was hearty and flavorful--some of the best we've had. We ended up finding both at Baked. When we walked in, we saw a few big bakery cases filled with pastries, muffins, and all sorts of baked goods. A little further into the space, we saw a reception stand for their full service, sit-down restaurant. We just wanted a beverage and a bakery treat, so that meant we couldn't sit in the restaurant, but luckily, we grabbed the only table in front of the bakery cases. It was quite a chore narrowing down our order from their many drinks and baked goods, but eventually we decided on a Cold Vanilla Blueberry Latte ($6), a Hot Banana Bread Latte ($5), a Macaroon ($3.75), and an Orange Cranberry Scone ($4). The cold latte and scone were mine and I enjoyed both a lot. The latte had great blueberry flavor and the scone was fantastic. We shared the baked treats, and the macaroon was great too, with plenty of chocolate chips, and a freshly made gooey consistency. We both noted how fresh everything was. The food was wonderful. The entrées in good time and again the presentation was purposefully planned. Stoneware China, mismatched vintage silverware and quality cloth napkins. My chicken was perfectly seasoned and prepared and the homemade rough cut mashed potatoes a perfect pairing. I think you get the point of this review!
