5 star food from Local Burgy as usual and 5 stars to the server. 0 stars to the guy in blue with a blue headband and the guy in black with the blue headband for berating the server and swearing at her while I was standing at the menu. There is nothing she could have done to deserve a reaction like that. Absolute 0 for professionalism and I'll be skipping this place from now on.

First off I'm a BBQ critic and this was my first time here. I've heard amazing good things about their burgers but as much as I wanted one, had to stick to my deal and try their BBQ stuff. Got their 3 meat Combo, Brisket-Ribs-Pulled Pork w/ Baked Beans, Mac and Cheese, Cajun Corn and Cole Slaw. In a nutshell some things were excellent and some were just pretty good. Good portion of food though. Ice cream sold at the little garden center right there but they only take cash. Brisket is super tender! Perfect type of texture for me, very juicy, I know not everyone likes that style but hey. But slathered in sauce and not much flavor to the actual meat. So unfortunately it loses a lot of points there. Pulled Pork. Slathered again, booo. Didn't even have the option of no sauce because it's one of dem slow cooker in a sauce type deals. Which is all good and fine for most people but I just find it offensive to slather any meat with any sauce unless it NEEDS it, but you need to be the judge of that every time. Pork was shredded very well though, not too much fat. And the fact that they went with a honey mustard flavor instead of a regular BBQ sauce ... 10 points! good job. Ribs were HOT and very flat. Not a lot of meat on the bone but usually that means the meat has more flavor. Smoked Almost Perfectly! Not too much Redness, Not Too much Rub but a Great Rub! Meat doesn't fall off the bone too easily which is also a great sign of good Ribs. But SLATHERED AGAIN! Fortunately they didn't slather all the ribs so I was able to eat me some good meat without the sauce. Not to say the sauce was bad either, it was fine. Baked Beans had kind of a Habanero element to them. Orangey zing, can't really put my finger on the spice but the sauce was almost like a sweet and sour taste but made from actual fruits and veggies, if that makes any sense. Very enjoyable! Cajun Corn! Very Surprising! I Likey. Garlicky! Kind of reminds me of a sea food type side dish Cole Slaw is SUPER shredded, barley looked like Cole slaw. All white, typical Cole slaw taste, almost looked like Snow. Some corn bread too but nothing even worth remembering. Mac and Cheese looked Awesome! Tasted ....... Okay. White Cheddar goo and black pepper. It was still good but I'm hunting for some real good stuff here. You'll probably like it.

A large and delicious lobster roll with fries for $20? That's hard to beat, especially where I'm from in Rhode Island. Topping that off with quick friendly service, plus a nice clean outdoor seating area makes this a place I happy go out of my way to patronize!

Wonderful little roadside stand. We came at 4:30 on a Monday evening, no waiting. Quick friendly service, nice BBQ menu, good food. I had the pulled pork sandwich, my wife a delicious cheeseburger. We added a side of fries and we were good to go. All served quickly and hot. That being said, this is not unlike any other roadside stand, good food but nothing extraordinary. A little noisy thru no fault of theirs but it is a roadside stand. Stop on by...

We had the ribs, burnt ends and brisket. Both the brisket and ribs were huge, moist with excellent flavor. He loved the burnt ends as well. The platters were served with a generous serving of delicious coleslaw and cute little loaf of cornbread. (Very similar to BJs). The platters each came with a side, and they were both very generous in size. He chose the collard greens and thought they were just the right amounts of spice. I ordered the fried brussel sprouts and they were absolutely outstanding. I would go back just for them. Don't miss these! It's a small local spot, and I hate bashing those. But at a certain point, you have to call it what it is. Let's be clear: this is a BBQ joint. BBQ is their featured food. Ribs are a signature dish when u call yourself BBQ. So, my expectations weren't sky-high, but they weren't low either. You expect smoke, moisture, some love. I mean you're supposed to make it taste good right? What I got on my last visit? Ribs as dry as sawdust. Not "a little overcooked." I mean crumbly, chewy, sad sawdust. And then there was that flavor - you know the one. That lovely classic refrigerator note. That faint, musty, "I've been sitting in a walk-in cooler for three days too long" taste. Unmistakable. Dropping $40 feeling like you're eating leftovers from someone else's bad cookout is a special kind of frustration. Here's the thing about running a small business: you have to pay attention. To the little things. To the refrigerator flavor. To dry ribs. To the fact that a customer who has come back six times is now writing this review because nobody in charge seems to care. It'll be hard to go back. Not because I'm angry - just tired of spending good money on food the kitchen clearly isn't tasting. Verdict: Great location, nice people at the counter? Maybe. But the food needs a serious wake-up call. And until then, I'm out. I wonder if they will take notice or the owner will just wonder why the business thins out.

We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

We both got the jerk chicken with greens. While we finished our dinner and it tasted good; I have several specific impressions and suggestions for improvement. First of all, both of our dinners could have arrived much hotter. They were more like "well warmed" in a microwave than truly hot- so I assume that's how they typically do it there. We were hungry enough not to send it back to be 'heated up' more -but they should be aware of how hot their food should be when presented to customers. Second, we love Jamaican food- goat curry/jerk chicken/oxtails, greens, etc. This chicken was seasoned + tasty; but the chicken honestly tasted like BBQ chicken much more than the jerk chicken I've had in any other restaurants. Finally- and in the end this was the worst issue, the gal who was our waitress either had never done a waitress job before, or was so poorly trained at this establishment that she literally had no idea what she should be doing/noticing/taking care of. At various points, this was frustrating (she didn't check on us at all), didn't seem to know if we needed more water/napkin,etc. mainly because she just didn't walk by the table/or stand back keeping a watchful eye on her table. At certain points, I heard her boss talking to her and telling her what to do next- but clearly she didn't even have a basic concept of what she was supposed to be doing. I waited tables a lot thru college and eventually I felt sorry for her lack of training in a job where you clearly represent the business. But, we were the only people in there for dinner, only 1 person drinking in the bar besides us. It was just unacceptable. We won't return-but would love to find good Jamaican food somewhere in the region. PS It was several months ago when we ate there, hopefully staff is consistently better trained now.
