The fries that came with my sandwich were fantastic. So good, that I asked what they were seasoned with on our way out: the dry rub they use on their meats. Give this place a try! I'm so glad we tried Zack's again. It was a totally different experience. Wow! Take out was amazing. My husband and I both had the pick 2 platters. We had the ribs, burnt ends and brisket. Both the brisket and ribs were huge, moist with excellent flavor. He loved the burnt ends as well. The platters were served with a generous serving of delicious coleslaw and cute little loaf of cornbread. (Very similar to BJs). The platters each came with a side, and they were both very generous in size. He chose the collard greens and thought they were just the right amounts of spice. I ordered the fried brussel sprouts and they were absolutely outstanding. I would go back just for them. Don't miss these! As the first Yelp Elite to rate this place, I feel kinda obligated to note that many of the rest of the reviews for this place look fake or unreliable "singles". So is this place good? Absolutely. It's a cute BBQ place within spitting distance of Yankee Candle and a welcome change from chain restaurants. We were treated by a friendly counter server who took our order. We went for the simple brisket and simple pulled pork sandwiches. Neither disappointed. They weren't fatty nor were they dry. Instead they had a nice smoky flavor to them. Better yet the BBQ sauce is legit. We also really loved the fries that had a bit of a kick to them. We sat outside on a gorgeous late summer day and even saw a train speed by right next door. I had my doubts when looking at the menu, but the bbq here is really good! It's the kund of bbq that doesn't really even need the sauce but the sauce makes it even better. They have a good variety to choose from, too. It's a small and cozy little place but the food was big on flavor. I had a quarter rack of ribs and brisket with fries and corn bread and Cole slaw. Hubs had a pulled pork sandwich and fries. I gave him my slaw because I knew there was no way I was going to eat all that by myself. Lol. It's all quick service style. SO! This location use to be Damn Yankees Smokehouse and I thought they were excellent. Covid forced them to shut down. Shut down long enough for him to sell. Legacy Smokehouse was in Hatfield and they decided to move their operation and settle here. Now it's called Zach's BBQ .... and that's the story. Not sure what all these negative reviews are talking about, sound like a bunch of Karens. Bunch of people complaining about the amount of fat on their brisket like they're are intentionally only serving them just the fat. 2 Meat Combo comes with Coleslaw and Cornbread and some pickles and onions which is always a great sign. Ribs look like backyard style (baked and grilled even though I know they aint) Bark looked good and heavy seasoned, great smoke ring, slathered (which I don't like usually but the sauce was really good), smelled great. Meat was juicy, they leave on the membrane, smoke flavor was powerful and delicious. Quality was excellent! Brisket is more chopped style. Really good smoked flavor though. Fat melts like butter. Some harder pieces but nothing terrible. I would call this above average Brisket. Could be a tiny bit more moist but that's just my preference. Cornbread is little bite sized muffins. Tastes like sweet cake, didn't really pick up on a good corn based flavors. Slaw was nice and colorful, seasoned well. Good typical slaw, nothing crazy. Heavy on the mayo base which I usually don't like but atleast it was runny and not thick. Mac and Cheese comes with a little sprinkle of bread crumbs and some shredded cheese. The rue almost looks like it's made with a bit of their Alabama sauce, which is awesome. Gooey but stringy which proves it has real cheese. Lot of different flavors in the sauce, it was fun. Kind of had a south western ranch color to it. Pasta is cooked perfectly. I like baked mac and cheese more but at least this had a bunch of flavor Candied Beans had a dollop of pulled pork on top, smelled awesome, thick bean gravy, could only see navy beans but it tasted excellent. Bean flavor was abundant but there was definitely something sweet, maybe a fruit. Lot of pulled pork but it didn't mess with the flavor. 5 Sauces. Alabama: super gritty and south western colors, lot of good stuff going on in there. Very strong in the horseradish, it was actually practically horseradish sauce but I would still put it on my chicken Main Street: Good vinegar presence, little bit of a kick but subtle but really good, I just didn't like that it was more of a mop sauce, I like them more runny. Southern Sweet: To me it honestly tasted like Main Street but with a bunch of sugar in it. Still that same kick, some consistency, same color. Not bad though. Carolina Gold: Typical gold sauce and again a bit of a kick. Lil Heat: Main Street but with chili powder, imo. I've been to A LOT of BBQ joints and I can easily say these guys are doing it pretty damn good, so all you haters out there who obviously don't do BBQ that often need to shut up and move on. read more

I finished a walk at Sugarloaf and needed lunch. This spot is located off the main drag with plenty of parking. The two meat meal was my choice and it was a portion large enough for two sittings. The pulled pork and brisket were savory and well cooked. I tried a sweet BBQ sauce and a White Carolina sauce that had a light kick. The meat was succulent and flavorful, not too heavily smoked or barbecued, but just ... perfect! Also an 11 out of 10!!! Their various BBQ sauces were all exceptional. I had to stop because it's my son's name, the guy taking the order was great and personable suggested a few things but I went with the brisket quesadilla! I really had high hopes for this place; they DO smoke the meat low and slow which is great, but the FIRST STEP when you are preparing a rack of ribs to be dry rubbed and cooked, is to remove the membrane or "silverskin", which not only has the consistency of polyurethane sheeting, but also prevents the rub from seasoning the meat from the bone side. Tried this place for the first time a couple of months ago and had the brisket sandwich. It was great. Tender, smoky, everything you want in a brisket. Went back recently to have the same sandwich again and it was dry and chalky and the bark was acrid and bitter. The first time, I picked the mac & cheese for my side and it was very good.
