As the saying goes, what a difference a day makes.. well actually 7 years. Seems they've gone thru a few new owners. We stopped by on a Thursday night around 7:00. Not a car in the lot.. A too quick check of Yelp showed 3 1/2 stars, should have read the latest reviews. All the side offerings were nearly empty, some of the covers were wonky and wouldn't open and close right. As mentioned there were flies, and the feeling they haven't cleaned well in quite a while. The chicken was overdone , the ribs were good. The collard greens were al dente and tepid..very sad state of affairs.. We did share a delicious pumpkin beer. Sorry Bub's you're no longer in the circle of trust..

I frequented this place in the 70's. First time back since I moved away, so glad the new owner is keeping up the old traditions. Good food, friendly service. My only complaint is the parking lot. Thought it was going to swallow up my little convertible! Lol!

A bit of a roadside shack feel at first, dark exterior lacking a bit of TLC and grubby entrance door. Inside were clean booths and efficient staff that reassure you that this is indeed an award-winning BBQ place. Even the vegetarian can get a black bean burger and indulge in the 12 or more sides ($7.99 for sides only!). The smoked chicken was delicious, and the kids thought the fries were the bomb. The Mac n cheese is super creamy. Bonus for parents who went hiking on Mt. Sugarloaf or Mt. Toby, decent beer or wine selection. I would also not recommend sitting at the booths near the door. It gets a bit claustrophobic with the line almost on top of you. The sides alone sold me . Collard greens, sweet potato casserole and BEETS!

Chicken sandwich, this was very good

It's a small local spot, and I hate bashing those. But at a certain point, you have to call it what it is. Let's be clear: this is a BBQ joint. BBQ is their featured food. Ribs are a signature dish when u call yourself BBQ. So, my expectations weren't sky-high, but they weren't low either. You expect smoke, moisture, some love. I mean you're supposed to make it taste good right? What I got on my last visit? Ribs as dry as sawdust. Not "a little overcooked." I mean crumbly, chewy, sad sawdust. And then there was that flavor - you know the one. That lovely classic refrigerator note. That faint, musty, "I've been sitting in a walk-in cooler for three days too long" taste. Unmistakable. Dropping $40 feeling like you're eating leftovers from someone else's bad cookout is a special kind of frustration. Here's the thing about running a small business: you have to pay attention. To the little things. To the refrigerator flavor. To dry ribs. To the fact that a customer who has come back six times is now writing this review because nobody in charge seems to care. It'll be hard to go back. Not because I'm angry - just tired of spending good money on food the kitchen clearly isn't tasting. Verdict: Great location, nice people at the counter? Maybe. But the food needs a serious wake-up call. And until then, I'm out. I wonder if they will take notice or the owner will just wonder why the business thins out.

The brisket was my absolute favorite--so tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. When we arrived, the place was full, which honestly had me betting big that the food would live up to the hype--and it absolutely did. Even the other customers were friendly, and the staff was just as welcoming. My fiancé and I shared the two-meat platter, and thank goodness we did--it was more than enough food. We were stuffed and still had leftovers (which I'm very much looking forward to eating again). If we ever pass through this way again, I'll definitely be making him stop here. The slaw...heavy on the vinegar, corn bread not too sweet, not too crumbly. Also tried the bread pudding, jam packed with stuff, not too sweet. Signs all along the walls, hand written menu. Anything we needed anything, they were happy to help. The chef was also very nice but I didn't ask his name. We ordered the Ginger Tea, Seaweed Salad + Gyoza (vegetable dumplings) to start, along with a small rice. The ginger tea is made with fresh ginger and is slightly sweet, the seaweed salad was authentic. The Gyoza were phenomenal; I asked Peter his advice on fried or grilled and he recommended fried. For the main course, we ordered the Fantastic Roll and the Koala Roll which were heavy hitters. 100% recommended. They have sake and are BYOB, big plus! We came back a second time, and I ordered the same thing: veggie gyoza and Fantastic Roll. My friends daughter loved the veggie dumplings just as much as I did. My friend and her daughter shared the sushi meal, and it came with sashimi that they loved. We also tried their chicken teriyaki appetizer and the meal. The appetizer comes with spicy mayo sauce which came on kebab sticks, and were too spicy for the kids but I thought they were perfect. The meal did not have spicy mayo and was sliced on a steaming platter. It was delicious as well, but I personally preferred the appetizer style. Eric and Peter were amazing servers the second time. I'm more than happy to support this local restaurant anytime I'm in town. Everything was extremely fresh, authentic, and larger portions than most places for an amazing price point. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants from now on. You definitely don't want to miss this place.

Randomly found this food truck parked in another lot during the off season. Seems like the only…read moresource of information on this place is directly on their website that gets updated maybe twice a year. Haven't found a facebook page or anything else. Waited and kept checking to see when they would open and finally they did in June. Showed up and they only take cash, no meat combo meals, had to be a half rack of ribs, and menu was almost exclusively burgers and fries. So I gave my hopes up and figured this place must not be worth it. Happened to be driving by one day and happened to have cash on me. Figured I'd check it out just to know for certain what I was missing. Just so happened that a meat combo was the "Special" of the day. 1/4 rack and pulled pork which was pretty much all they had for actual "BBQ" stuff. I don't consider burgers part of BBQ. And now I'm looking at their menu online which has been updated and they now serve Brisket on Friday and Saturday nights. And they change up their sides every week. Happened to catch them with Baked Beans and Pasta Salad that day. Ribs were 3 bones for a 1/4 rack. Slathered and char grilled quite a bit, which are 2 things I don't want on ribs. But damn it was good for a charred rib. Meat was as tough as you expect it to be for a rib all charred up but the sauce had a sweet fun heat kick to it. The kind of heat that doesn't burn at all but it feels like it might. Fruity sensation to it too. Other parts were a bit more tender and I think the original pork flavor gets a little lost in these ribs. With the char and the sauce it was hard to find a real good pork flavor but it was still very good. Pulled Pork was exactly how it was supposed to be, not completely torn apart, still big chunks that are soft and easy. Seasoned well, very moist, great pork flavor and seasoning flavor. Exactly the kind of pulled pork I want. Side of sauce wasn't completely necessary but I tried it on the pork. Thick style, I don't think it was the same stuff as on the ribs. But it was sweet and slow and did it's job. Pasta Salad was excellent. This was legit homemade Italian grandma olive oil style. Cut up peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, Fussilie pasta. Flavor and texture made the stuff so easy to eat I could have just face planted myself into it. Beans looked amazing. Obviously some pulled or shredded meat, I want to say brisket. Maple and Brown Sugar flavors hit the tongue instantly, It was crazy. Tiny hint of smokey flavor from the brisket. Pinto beans could have used a tad bit longer in the pot but it wasn't a deal at all, just a preference. Slaw had a great sweet vinegar taste like any good slaw would. Pretty much only cabbage shreds but honestly who can tell the taste between carrots and radish when they've been pickling in the same juice. Slaw was gone before I could even think about it anymore ... so that should tell you something. Surprisingly good food truck. I just hate that it's cash only, I completely understand why, and that the sides change every week and it's not updated anywhere. But I will have to go back and try their burgers and fries and brisket and hotdogs soon.

Sides on our visit included cole slaw, fries, cucumber salad, and baked beans. The half-rack of 8 ribs was generous, meaty, smoky, with a very nice, sweet, southern-style sauce brushed-on and also provided as a bonus dip. While the *flavors* were lovely in the slaw, beans, and BBQ sauce, the cuke salad had very little if any dressing, the beans seemed undercooked, and the ribs were overcooked. Ribs should be fall-off-the-bone tender, and we had to tear at every bone. Mind you, we picked them clean because, again, the flavor was good. But definitely overly dry, indicating a too-hot, too-fast cooking this time out. Easy-to-miss this BBQ trailer tucked into the far leafy corner of White's Sugar House & Farm Stand parking lot just before Route 202 if you're going east on Route 119. There aren't always practical street addresses in this mostly rural area, and the old farm sign is all but buried by the surrounding tree growth in summer. Slow up as you approach the lighted intersection, and keep your eyes peeled for the Old Fitzwilliam Rd street sign, even though it's just the driveway. Despite the dry ribs, we prefer indie places to chains, so we are still glad to have tried it. Southern sauce this good is harder to come by up north.
