Pretty solid burger! The char on the patty was amazing, but I wasn't really a fan of their sauces. I tried the maple mayo and chipotle ketchup. The maple mayo was a little too sweet, especially paired with the sweet potato fries, which are already on the sweeter side. The chipotle ketchup didn't have much of a chipotle flavor either. The workers were friendly, quick, and efficient. Overall, it's a chill spot for a quick lunch and a beer. read more

Sadly kind of a disaster. Have been coming here for over 10 years. There were only 3 orders ahead of ours, but the food still took 40 minutest to come out. When it did, the chicken tenders were cold and the chicken was tough, and was missing half the breading, like these were scraps they gave us. All three burgers were cold. Asked for buns toasted and they came out burnt black. Paid for grilled chiles on the burgers, they all came out with no chiles. Something seems very wrong, they seem unable to do it anymore. read more

Friendly, fast service, in a very clean and well-prepared atmosphere. Burger was perfectly cooked. The sweet potato fries with maple mayo were fantastic. Grilled onions and mushrooms were splendid. read more

Stopped after an appointment nearby... SO glad I did. The food remains amazing. The small fries are more than enough for me. They also have some on-tap options. The service was friendly and patient. They even brought my order to my table. It's a nice vibe here, warm, cozy, and open to all. read more

In a different timeline, I went to Smith instead of Dartmouth and my sojourn to Northampton was a homecoming instead of an initial visit. And though I can't guarantee that the town was so vibrantly and unapologetically queer nearly 30 years ago when our paths diverged, I can say that in 2025 it was completely my vibe. Though lesbianest - it def was. After Dinosaur Footprints, my trio needed to grab some lunch. They spoke highly of Local Bar and what a delicious choice it was. They have a nice lineup of preconfigured burgers - the teriyaki seems to be a local favorite - or you can build your own. The best is that you can have a beef, turkey, or veggie burger with any style. Unfamiliar meat sometimes sends me running to the baño and I still had a 3 hr drive up to NH. So I opted for the Farmhouse style burger with a veggie patty. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and our house maple mayo. I told you maple is my fave flavor. Excellent decision - the server even complimented my choice lol. The veggie patty was homemade with mushrooms and other grains - texture was elite and the umami was palpable throughout. It also didn't fall apart in my hands as other veggie patties are prone to do. I also got an order of fries but this is completely a place where you could get a burger and skip the sides and be satisfied. My dining companions were more in the know in this area so we shared the fries. Free refills too which thrilled me to no end as I strongly dislike nickel and diming on drinks. Parking can be a challenge in this town - but since it's Pride Month the rainbow gods were shining on us and we found 2 spots right next to each other just around the corner from the spot. Great food, stellar service, clean dining area, central location, something for vegans and meat eaters alike. Can't go wrong with this one! read more

The burger is amazing, has a nice char taste and very moist. The hand cut fries are not only delicious but generous portions for small. I spent $19.00 for a great burger and fries meal and don't have that heavy gross fat feeling. Highly recommend, also noticed the root beer floats looked great as well but did not get one. Definitely will be back. Burger was exactly what I wanted. Grabbed a beer while I waited. Tempted to try the Cap'n Crunch dog.

Not to be missed! Six stars!!! Ridiculously good!! It might be the best burger in a couple years!! Re-dunkulous. Go pink! I literally said to myself under my breath "Whoa! These guys aren't fuckn around!!" I came last night and had the The Local and almost didn't finish it! I'm back for a second lunch before I leave town to San Diego. Epic!! read more

Heck yeah! This place is a gem! When the weathers nice, sitting out on their patio with all the flowers and plants is a real treat. Makes you feel like you're on vacation somewhere. Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich that was so massive I ended up sharing it and was still full afterwards. When they say large fries... they give you enough for like 3 people. The ones we got were crispy and good. Their shakes are really good too. Definitely good value for your money here and the place to come when you want tasty, yet casual food. read more

Most definitely the best restaurant to pick up a burger in Western Mass. The help is friendly and fast. They have a sit down area and they also offer takeout. Great food options read more

Just frustrated. This was done in about 5 minutes from when I placed the order. I would rather wait than be served something like this. Didn't even get to take a bite because my whole chicken breast slipped out of its breading. The chicken is so large that you can't even take a bite of the sandwich to begin with. The bread was soggy and this was disappointing. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing and fresh. The staff are always friendly and the environment is very welcoming. What stands out about this branch is their hospitality towards city employees. I work outside 5 days a week and 7.5 hours a day. I get very thirsty and I can't always get to the office. The fact that im able to come in to get fresh cold water with ice is remarkable. No judgements, no side eyes, just a friendly smile. Im extremely grateful for this because this summer was brutal. This restaurant has great food, cool environment and shows so much kindness to everyone. This place is worth every penny and yes I do eat here and those damn fried pickles are addictive. read more

Some of the best burgers AND fries/poutine I have ever had. It's a casual "walk up to the counter and order and wait for them to call your name" kind of place so don't expect linen tablecloths. Try the milkshakes with various forms of alcohol (Bailey's, Kahlua, etc.) if you really want to treat yourself and don't care about the calories. read more

BEWARE THE FRENCH FRIER PERSON. Hey, best burger and veggie burger and hotdog you will ever eat in your life, and I know my dogs and burgers. If you are visiting the truck, you likely will get some delicious french fries too. However, in the downtown Northampton local burger, it's a crapshoot with the fries. They can be so greasy that you wonder if they accidentally ladled equal parts fries to oil. I am not exaggerating. Asking for well-done is not the answer. When you get good fries, find out the name of the fry person (and tell me). Worth asking. read more

Every college town needs a burger place like this. It's not perfect but we really enjoyed our stop here. It's a perfect place when you have a burger or chicken cravings. It's a fast casual concept and we had a very friendly person to take our order. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was drenched in buffalo sauce with some blue cheese. The bun seemed like a standard potato bun and just got soggy from all the sauces which was a shame because it became a messy delicious sandwich to eat. 7 napkins later.... The burger was cooked perfectly but again the bun just didn't highlight the rest of it. Fries were nice and crispy and well portioned. The best part of the meal. Milkshake was nice and creamy and a big hit too. Again, little things matter when you seek to be the best. It's quite good and well worth the visit. Just a tad short of the perfection you sometimes crave. Then again, you might love the bun in which case, perfection achieved. read more

My go-to for great fries with a killer burger or scrumptious chicken sandwich. Phenomenal service every time!!!

Greeted with a friendly complimentary waitress! The specials were SO tempting but stuck to the West Hampton burger and a hamburger paired with a large fries to share. The prices are right and portions bountiful. The only gripe is the hand cut fries were a tad over salted. A great space and place for a tasty burger and side.... you'll leave pleased. read more

Ambiance- a local burger joint, not fast food but not typical restaurant. Food made to order and delivered to your table. Very chill, small, relaxed though. Bathroom wasn't super clean. Service- the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food- the burgers were huge. Delicious but so big. I gave one of my Pattie's to my husband because it was too big. The Mac and cheese bites were good but honestly the star for us was the buffalo mayo with the Mac and cheese bites. The poutine fries were okay. I think the fries by themselves would have been better. read more

My partner and I went to Northampton for a weekend - arrived on Friday, left on Sunday and kid you not, from all of the incredible food choices in NoHo, we ate here personally (and brought friends) every day! Fanatics. The Westhampton burger was delicious everyday. My goodness. Look at the picture. It tastes even better than it looks. Among our tribe, we had fries, fried pickles, hot dogs, burgers, plenty. All delicious and highly recommend. Even after 10 years since undergrad, it's just as good, if not better! read more

I hadn't been to local burger in years so stopped in with several friends on a chilly night. I chose the kimchi burger which was pork, kimchi, garlic, ginger, scallions, coated with panko bread crumbs and deep fried with greens and a seasoned mayo. The burger had that pork resiliency if that makes any sense and the mayo was a great accompaniment. I personally didn't get any kimchi flavors. We shared an order of the poutine which was good. It got cold super quick as it was served rather spread out on a tray. It's a definitely a good spot if you're looking for a burger. read more

Just north of 4 but needs a little bit of improvement. Stopped by with my son on his way to camp to have something to eat. Ease of ordering, beautiful outdoor seating and friendly staff make this a great place to enjoy a meal in NH. Grass fed burger was very delicious and flavorful. I loved the blue cheese option and my burger was done perfectly. My counterparts burger was also cooked perfectly with bacon. The onion rings!!! OMG giant and absolutely the BEST onion ring we've ever had. You could taste the beer in the batter. They were a bit greasy, but well seasoned and delicious! The fries were average. Nicely cooked and seasoned, way better than most frozen fries. Overall, if you're in the mood for a burger this is your place. Get a Togo box as you'll only be able to eat 1-2 rings. read more

The quality of the food is okay at best and the wait time was 35 minutes for the food to come out. It was not a packed house either. Also, a turkey burger with lettuce, cheese and bacon and a sweet potato fry cost 17.10 and was below average. We will never return there. Next time we'll go back to a constant stand by with better food. I would rather go across the street to Fitzwilly's. read more

Probably the best burger joint in the area. The burgers, fries, and shakes are all amazing. Can be busy at times but well worth the wait

Great thick and juicy burgers, hand bartered onion rings and hand cut fries! A solid 4 1/2 stars. If you get a double patty be prepared to deconstruct or eat it with a fork. If you're getting lots of hot toppings (mushrooms, cheese, bacon, etc, be sure to ask for the cold veggies on the side. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. Do not be fooled by these fake 5 star reviews. The staff is very rude, they serve inedible burgers, and it's a scam because they use frozen patties but will lie through their teeth to the ends of the earth to deny that fact. I mean what kind of morals are those?? They are riding on the reputation they once had 15 years ago and now they're exploiting people and serving complete trash to keep their spot in downtown Northampton. I say we boycott this place, don't give them your business, and drive them out of town. Response: Jeff you truly have some nerve. If you can't do your job and stop scamming your customers, tell those 22 people they need to find another job. Customers are NOT going to put up with this anymore. read more

First off, when you place your order, keep in mind that no matter how YOU want it made, they'll make it THEIR way. Secondly, if you enjoy being lied to or gaslighted in anyway then this is the hotspot for you! My fiancé and I recently ordered food at this "restaurant". Nothing was made the way requested it. Nothing, the burgers ranged for burnt to raw. When we called we were treated horribly by the woman who answered the phone to the point where we called the Easthampton location. The easthampton location was very helpful and kind. They advised we would be getting a refund and an email regarding said refund. A full 24 hours later no email. So my fiancé tried reaching out to the owner Jeff who ignored the message. He only responded when my fiancé posted an honest review. Even in the owners response it's clear that this restaurant can't handle criticism or complaints well and responds harshly to both. Keep your money. Honestly want a good burger and are ok with a drive? Go to White Hut, go to Five Guys, go to a local diner. There are plenty of other places to get a good burger and not be treated horribly is something should go wrong. read more

While in town with a large group of friends, it was decided to grab a late lunch at Local on Saturday. This is a great, casual spot with really good food. If you get one of the signature burgers, make sure you have time for a nap....especially if you have a large order of fries to accompany it. And a milkshake! I had an impossible burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Also ordered the captain crunch chicken fingers to share. Others at the table had regular burgers, regular fries and those aforementioned milkshakes. Everyone was happy and everything was delicious. Plenty of options for carnivores and vegetarians. The food is solid but overpriced considering the burgers don't come with a side. Please for the love of god get a new ordering system, the website SUCKS. Incredibly bummed to see how many negative reviews Local has racked up... though I warn folks perusing here, the comments seem mostly to remark on the prices going up and have nothing to do with the quality of the food. Which! is absolutely stellar. Last time I visited Local, I was in college and probably not in the soberest of states. Today, I visited almost a decade later, was incredibly sober, and am happy to state that the food still slaps. The Cap'n Crunch chicken tenders are a must-try.... subtle sweetness, ingenious creation. The fried pickles are juicy yet ultra crispy, piping hot and served with some solid ranch for dipping. The mac bites are fantastic, especially with any of the array of sauces. Keep it up Local! read more
