We held my son and daughter-in-law's wedding rehearsal at Progression Brewing Company last week and it was fantastic! Chris, the Tap Room Manager, was a rock star and made the entire experience go off without a hitch. His attention to every detail was impressive. His staff/team were friendly and hard-working. The food was outstanding and plentiful! The ambiance was so fun and everyone from 2 to 83 had a blast playing with the shuffle board, pinball machines, and board games. The musician was wonderful and added a nice touch to our celebration. Such a fun and joy-filled evening! Thank-You Chris! Highly Recommend Progression Brewing Company!!

Stopped in on a whim, while passing through town. So glad we did! Great atmosphere. Staff is very friendly. The food was flavorful. Highly recommend!

Progression Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Northampton, Massachusetts in November 2018. It was founded by business partners Drew Starkweather and head brewer Todd Sullivan. Starkweather is a businessman who created Drew's Organics: a renowned salad dressing and salsa company that he sold in 2010. Sullivan has over 30 years of brewing experience and previously worked at Mill City Brewing and Highland Orchard. The two met and decided to open their own brewery. When a space that was previously home to Don Gleeson's Camping Supplies opened in downtown Northampton, the partners made the move to acquire it. The brewery produces a variety of styles, but a large percentage of their repertoire are New England-style IPAs. Progression also has an in-house kitchen with a menu that features burgers, sammies, wraps, flatbreads, and various bar bites. My son and I recently visited Progression Brewing Company while we were cycling the large network of bike trails in and around Northampton. The brewery is conveniently located right alongside the Manhan Rail Trail in downtown Northampton. The place had a really nice vibe and had seating available outside as well as inside. We had already eaten lunch so we weren't particularly hungry. I was pretty thirsty though; especially after cycling all of those miles pulling a heavy bike trailer with a small child inside. The draught menu that day was almost exclusively New England-style IPAs, which was fine by me. I decided to order a sampler flight that consisted of "Cape Time" (NEIPA), "Connect The Dots" (NEIPA), "Evolve" (Double NEIPA), and "Ripe Dose" (Double NEIPA). All of them were excellent brews, but I liked the last one the best! I was very impressed by the beers at Progression and I would definitely stop by again!

Best beer ever tasted because I don't like beer--the New Magic Wand: margarita sour (beer) is amazing!

I had a very enjoyable time here during my visit. I like the outdoor setup they have during COVID, they clean it down good and there's plenty of space between benches. The wait staff was very friendly. If you're going to drink here you have to order something to eat as per the local regulations during this time of the pandemic. Be aware that they specialize mostly in IPA style beers. I'm honestly not a fan of IPAs but they had a very delicious saison with notes of banana and clove. I could taste the clove, it was subtle and not overpowering. They also have other style drinks like hard seltzer. Great little spot to hang out.

    Stop in for a pint.

A hidden little gem in Northampton. We stopped by for brief respite from a day replete with walking about this lovely college hamlet. Progression seemed like an ideal place to get off our feet for a bit and try some local brews. We went on a Sunday (pro tip: parking in the public lots is free on Sundays!). There were sports on the TVs, but classy jazz was easing out of the sound system. After ordering our drinks we were able to secure a cozy spot on a couch by the window; a great location for people watching. I got the Noon Juice because I didn't want anything too heavy for a midday drink. It is a session IPA with blueberry. That might seem a somewhat odd couple, but it paired spot on. My girlfriend opted for the Black and Blue Sour which as the name implies is loaded with blueberry and blackberry flavors. An ideal refresher on a late summer's afternoon. Definitely dug the chill vibe of this place and will be back.

Flourish, a very solid Farmhouse Saison!

Progression Brewing is one of the latest craft breweries Steve and I have delved into. It's also a brewery that was on my list to try for a while so it's good that I finally got to try them out! We had three beers from this particular brewery. The Flourish beer was the first one we tried. This was a pretty good Farmhouse Saison. I haven't had one in a little while and this return was a pleasant one. It had a good crisp flavor with fruity and dry hopped notes to it. The next one was the Evolve beer. This one was a very solid hazy IPA which we both liked pretty well! It had good peach and grapefruit highlights to it which made for a very good IPA. And then the final beer was the Omen beer. This was a stout that we enjoyed as this was the last beer we had from Progression as our Sunday was winding down. Malty, dark and smooth this was a pleasant stout with it's coffee flavor features it a great beer to conclude our brewery experience with on the this brewery.

What a nice space in Northampton! Plenty of room to park yourself somewhere or roam around and mingle (seriously, the space is huge for being that conveniently located). There's stuff to do, cool artwork on the walls, and of course some good beers to try. Some were certainly better than others, but they had a few that I would be happy to take hope for myself or to share. It's a very reasonable walk from the main public parking areas and garage, and is near the Tunnel Bar if that helps you find it...

We had a holiday party at progression this year and it was our first time checking out the brewery. This place (from what we heard) is a Northampton staple, so we were excited to try. I loved that they had shuffleboard (always my favorite brewery game). I also really loved their assortment of beers on the tap list. I got a sour and it was really tasty. Can't wait to go back!

We stopped here recently, after walking around town and finding the place unexpectedly, and were pleasantly surprised! The beer list is good but not overwhelming, and they have several food options to cover whatever your plans (whether you want a few light snacks or enough to satisfy a full meal). Our favorite part about this place is that they're located off a bike trail, which we love and are always looking for places like this to enhance plans for days out on the bicycles. They have indoor seating available plus several tables outside with umbrellas to give you a nice place to stop regardless of weather. This is definitely a place to keep in mind if you're in the area!

Recently stopped by Progression for the second time after a hike, and our first time there during social distancing measures. A little less lively of course, but the beer was as great as we remembered. We also got the potato wedges (I think you need one food item per table), which were incredible. Some of my favorite IPAs on tap!

Flight of beer options - all were great!

Originally from Vermont, Berzins began looking for a good location to open a brewery after attending the Siebel Institute for Brewing in 2010. He settled on a former hay field in Easthampton at the base of Mount Tom. He chose Easthampton for the city's delicious, environmentally protected water. He was also enamored with the community's friendliness and sense of welfare. Berzins adheres to the Reinheitsgebot German purity law for the majority of his beers. Per the age-old law, the beer can only be produced with four ingredients: water, hops, malt, and yeast. At first, Fort Hill only brewed lagers. More recently they have ventured into hoppier territory with the addition of IPAs. My son and I recently visited Fort Hill Brewery while we were cycling the large network of bike trails in and around Northampton. The brewery is conveniently located right alongside the spur trail section of the Manhan Rail Trail. The location had seating available outside as well as inside and was quite packed when we arrived. The draught menu that day featured about 20 different beers of varying styles. Being the hop head that I am, I decided to order a sampler flight of five IPAs. It consisted of "G-Fresh" (Grapefruit IPA), "Disco Kid" (IPA), "Fresh Pick" (NEIPA), "Checkmate Chuck" (DIPA) and "Jigsaw Jazz" (DIPA). They were all pretty good, but "G-Fresh" and "Fresh Pick" were my two favorites. My son and I grabbed a table by the brewery's small stage and we listened to the blues sensations of Wildcat O'Halloran's band while I enjoyed my beer samples. We had a nice time at Fort Hill Brewery and I would definitely stop by again!

I had two beers, and both very tasty. The Pianist, is exactly what I'd usually gravitate towards a great sour, with a bit of a twist. I also had Corrupt Cranberry, this is not for everyone, but I enjoyed it. It's a seltzer beer, I've never heard of such a thing. It's very unique, a bit more watery then the average beer, but also very flavorful. The night I was here, there was live music. This is a great little brewery that I enjoyed checking out. I have to add, they charge $2.00 for beer sampling. I'm not sure how big the samples are, this might be a covid reason. This is also a dog friendly brewery.
