Several months ago, I was following my GPS to visit someone when this place caught my eye. It was so tiny. So hidden away. I mean, who the hell has even heard of Gilbertville? I made a mental note to come back another day, when I had time to explore the area. Spoiler alert: There's not much there to explore in Gilbertville. Although, if you're like me and willing to drive 10 miles out of your way to save ten cents a gallon on gas, they do have the cheapest gas around. But I digress... Yesterday I pulled into their almost non-existent parking lot and wondered where people park when they are full. I was there at 3pm, so it was empty aside from myself, two other people, and a dog. The space was quirky and eclectic, with random art on the walls, old pieces from antique shops, and a bar lined with metal seats. They also had a few tables. It was all dark old wood, and I imagine it would be an awesome spot to hit on a cold winter's day. I settled myself into a seat at the bar. Just a warning: those seats must have the AC blowing directly onto the metal, because my poor vagina felt like it went through a cold plunge. I was wearing shorts, but the freezing cold metal felt like it penetrated straight into my cervix. If you opt for bar seating while wearing shorts, pack a sweater for your genitals. Icy nether regions aside, this place was a perfect little hideaway to hang for a bit and enjoy some well-crafted beers. They don't serve meals, but they do have snacks you can purchase if you need some sustenance. Their white stout was PHENOMENAL, one of the best beers I've had in a while. It was creamy, sweet, and SO easy to drink. It gave me a cream soda vibe, but with a 7% bite. Solo factor: 7/10. The place was pretty empty when I went, so it felt very comfortable to be there by myself. But it's tiny, so I don't know if it would have that same vibe once it's packed. The bartender was awesome, and very attentive. The seating isn't necessarily ideal for someone who wants to spend hours hanging out there, but it was fine for the time I was there...and there were also other options for places to sit. Also, I saw that they have an outdoor area where you can sit, which I missed on the way in. And I would be remiss to not mention that their bathroom was freakishly clean for a brewery bathroom. I've been to two places over the past few weeks where I walked into the bathroom, saw what was waiting for me, and thought "Fuck it, I'd rather get a kidney stone." Yuck. read more

My last review was in 2023 and the most recent posting by another customer was made in 2025 and is above my 2023 posting. This is very troubling for me to think that this wonderful place has not seen any new customers who wish to post comments. As I stated previously, go. It is a fun place. But! Our last visit was frustrating. We met friends on a weekend afternoon, to relax, enjoy music and sip a brew. The musician was talented and much better than we have recently found at other locations. BUT TOO LOUD. WE COULDN'T RELAX AND BE WITH FRIENDS. WE SCREAMED AT EACH OTHER AND I MISSED ALOT OF OUR CONVERSATION. Disappointed, we left to enjoy ourselves with our company somewhere else. Lost Towns, you have to consider all of the reasons why we come here. Yes, Friday night is expected to be loud and fun. We love it. But one musician who blasts out the place is not comfortable on a hot afternoon with friends. read more

This little brewery has a big selection of beer that is very good!! Some of the best beer in the area!! Their taproom has a nice vibe going, a lot of games to choose from and they have music often. Tonight we happened upon open mic night which was so much fun! I believe you can bring your own snacks or order delivery from Farmer Matt. Definitely worth a visit here!! read more

We loved this small brewery. They had a nice selection of beer which included my partners favorite which is a wheat ale. We both had the Winsor Dam wheat ale with mango, it was a nice smooth brew. We arrived early so not many people were there and it gave us an opportunity to talk with the owners and the one who brews the beer. It was nice to personally meet the people making it happen. They don't serve food, but they have someone set up outside grilling and selling hamburgers, bratwurst sandwiches etc. We both got the bratwurst and it was excellent. If we're out that way again we'd definitely stop by to give them our business, it's nice to see the 'little breweries' living their dream! read more

This is a small but cozy brewery. They offer a great selection of brewed on-site craft beers. No in-house food but food trucks are often there. My favorite beverage was Fog Dancer and my husband went bananas (joke) for the Blueberry Wheat with real blueberries floating in it. He liked it so much that we purchased two growlers to take with us. We were there on a Friday night and there was music provided by a lively trio. We were told an outside beer garden is in the works. Went for a brew and ended up having two. Open mic on Friday night I happened upon a hullabaloo. The beer was great! Joe and John too! The music was raw and original with local musicians all howling at the moon (or something or other). But make no mistake: it was great! See you next Friday after noon! read more

As there were yet any reviews we didnt know what to expect so We stopped by this little local Brewery. The people there are so very welcoming and made us feel like the many other locals which obviously frequent there. We had a flight which did not disappoint. We tried four beers, each of which was tasty and hit the mark as described. We even had to take home a growler of their Windsor Dam Wheat to enjoy when we came home! My recommendation....if you are near this wonderful little Brewery, make a point to stop in. You will want to try the many beers and enjoy the welcoming environment, friendly people and great beers....I know we will next time we are in that area!!! read more

A great small town brewery. The beers are good, and the staff is friendly. They have open mic nights for those who enjoy that.

Definitely a nice location and friendly place to visit. I purchased cans and the beer itself really did not match the description on their website. Nice place if passing through, but was not in love with the beer. There are better options with better beer but worth a visit if nearby. Great spot. Homey, fun, owners were super friendly and very knowledgeable about their craft. Beers were excellent. We tried a flight and enjoyed them all. Husband ended up ordering the wheat beer and I ended up with the Fog Dancer. Both are highly recommended. Dog friendly, which is awesome. We tried some of the cheeses from local Still Life Farm, and delicious baked goods from baker Tamsin Lucey, of the Bread Box Company, all superb accompaniments to the finely crafted beer.
