Best burger I've had in a really long time. I got the one with burnt ends on it and it was massive. The serving sizes here are fantastic and everything tasted great. The chicken tenders were also a huge portion and super good. The only downside was our server, Rick. He really needs a change of attitude. I get it, he was literally the only person working the entire restaurant on a busy Sunday night, so I understand the stress. But still, he was really rude, and it definitely made people upset. Thankfully, the food was so good that it made up for it.

Very cool place. I parked in the Tower Square parking garage and took the elevator to the bottom floor where White Lion is located. Tower Square is actually quite nice and very clean. I was impressed. White Lion is a large space with a massive bar and good sized seating area. They have garage type doors that open to the outside with some nice city views. Beer was fresh and delicious. Food was solid, especially the chicken wings that were juicy and cooked perfectly. Recommend!!

The process is broken here. Order at the bar- food delivered to you. BUT you cannot get the bartender to look at you. I stood patiently for way to long. and it wasn't that busy. I couldn't even imagine if it was slammed... The facility has on street parking downtown- tough feat even for a Sunday night in the summer. The facility is spacious even has a little stage built. The stage this day had empty boxes placed for kids to stack and play- AMAZING idea1 Our 2 year old spent the whole time playing with the boxes (thank you WL!) It can be loud but fun. I had the highbrow sticky ribs. Falling off the bone, finger licking DELICIOUSNESS! I love teriyaki/Asian flavors. This was extremely flavorful and downright memorable to be honest. We also had buffalo wings and truffle fries. These were just not memorable. They were ok. The kids loved the fried oreos. True score: 3.5 because the ribs were so good

excellent place and it's been a while. nice new brews and new eats! have you been? why not? what are you waiting for?!?

It is a brewery, but the drink menu is very limited. Enough that I had trouble overing a drink because they didn't even carry 3 tiers of liquor. I ordered the burnt ends, but it was mostly fat w/ a small rim of meat that was very hard & doused in BBQ sauce. I don't like that much sauce, but at least it least tasty, and wasn't super sweet. I would not over that again. My friend ordered the light lofe fish & said that it was meh. We all tasted the fries & they were not great. There was nothing truffle about them.. they were dry rosemary shoestring fries & they weren't that good. Rhe waiter actually gave hwr Parmigiano to put on them to give them some flavor. The fish was overcooked & flavorless & unseasonably. it was not even good in her opinion. The staff was very nice, but ill equipped. It wasnt even very bust, but they stulill seemed frazzled. My recommendation is going to be skip this place completely.

The food was really good aside from the sandwich being on the dry side but once I asked for a side of sauce all was well! The bartenders were very friendly and attentive and the DJ had all the good hip hop & R&B playing!

Came during lunchtime, which apparently was great because I felt like we had the place to ourselves knowing that Friday night and all the way till Sunday this place is packed. Enjoy the beer was very good. Had an IPA. It was called the Marcus Camby delicious also had a sandwich and chicken wings. I know that normally I have a picture associated with the food but I've noticed a trend when I'm drinking beer I eat the food and then I forget to take my picture so we're gonna be working on that. This has nothing to do with the review. However, the food was delicious. Take my work for it.

Fantastic beer, food and vibes - what more could you ask for in a brewery?! I ordered a Caesar salad with sticky ribs and a flight to try a few of their beers; everything was so good! Their space is large and inviting, they host plenty of events and have windows that completely open to the street. This is a must stop when visiting Springfield!

Roasted Brussel sprouts

Walking around in between volleyball games we found this place. Went into what we thought was a little mall. Nothing open at the time and not much really going on. We saw this brewery and decided we would come back when it opened. I had a flight of beers, I love sours and they had 5 to choose from, so perfect way to try 4 of them. I had the fight the sour, carnival candy kettle sour, pomegranate and raspberry Bellini sour and the blueberry marshmallow sour. I originally thought my favorite on first sip was the blueberry marshmallow. You can really taste the blueberry and the marshmallow gives it kind of a balanced touch of cream taste. But once it sat for awhile it didn't taste as fruity. The fight the sour and the Bellini sours ended up being my favorite. We ordered a couple of appetizers, the roasted Brussel sprouts and buffalo tenders. The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. Cooked through so the center wasn't hard but yet roasted to crispy perfection on the outside. They were tossed with a hot honey, which I think was spicier than the buffalo wings. The sprout were served with a lemon vinaigrette that honestly just tasted like and I very blended olive oil mixed with clarified butter. No real lemon flavor and really not needed. Don't really get how it complimented the Brussel sprouts. They minus the dipping sauce were the best I have ever had and would order over and over again. The chicken tenders were amazing. Fresh chicken breast that you could tell they cut themselves and are breaded to order. The breading was so nice and crispy, the chicken was so juicy. Amazing!!! There is no table service so you will have to go to the bar and order everything. They use a QR code for you to scan for the menu. But once you order the food is brought to you when ready. Service was fast and friendly. I am looking forward to the next time I need to go to Springfield because this place will definitely be on my agenda for the day.

The waitresses are very kind and dressed in traditional German dresses and the live music is a great touch. To start, I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea that had a bit too much punch to it. The alcohol ratio was quite off and was very hard to drink. I asked for a soda to try and dumb it down, but was only able to get about half way through it. Though this was my fault for not ordering a beer at a German restaurant, I still would have liked the drink to be a bit tastier and is unfortunately the only thing keeping this review from being a shinning 5-stars. For my meal I ordered the sauerbraten which did NOT disappoint! The beef was very tender and the vinegar mixed with the gravy was the perfect level of sour and hearty. The red hot red cabbage was hot and flavorful and the potato pancakes were perfectly cooked. The side of applesauce put on top of the potato pancakes added the right amount of sweetness. A friend got the special rouladen which I got a taste of and was very delicious. The pickles inside were flavorful and the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The menu is a bit pricey, but the portions are deceptively filling. I definitely expected to be hungry after but I finished my plate absolutely stuffed! Overall, this was a great experience and would recommend anyone looking for a taste of Germany to give this a try.

It genuinely felt like our own curated space for the night. The food was outstanding. We received endless compliments on the quality the pizzas were immaculate, and the wings deserve an award. Truly top-tier. My company booked here for this event, and we will absolutely continue booking here in the future. The compliments on the décor, the food, the layout, and the overall experience have not stopped coming in. This is, without question, the best place in Norwalk to host an event. Housatonic River Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in New Milford, Connecticut in September…read more2018. It was founded by brewer Dave Littlefield. With brewery experience dating back to the 1980s, Littlefield had owned and operated Harbor Lights Brewing Company in Dana Point, California during the 1990s. A couple of non-brewery jobs later, Littlefield had relocated to Connecticut and looked to open a new brewery. He purchased a 7-acre property along the banks of the Housatonic River in New Milford. In addition to brewing good beer, Littlefield's goal was to create a venue that the community would appreciate and enjoy. The brewery features a large rustic taproom, a stage for live musical acts to perform, and a large seasonal beer garden under a pavilion. In addition to the housemade beer, HRB also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. In May 2024, Littlefield purchased the former Quirk Works Brewing & Blendery space in Danbury for HRB to use as a secondary production facility. I recently visited Housatonic River Brewing for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see NYC-based Rush tribute band "Moving Pictures". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started and grabbed a table close to the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I started off with a plate of "Smoked Macaroni & Cheese" (smoked bacon jalapeño macaroni & cheese) and "Cornbread" (w/ cinnamon honey butter). Afterwards, I moved onto a "Gourmet Brisket Grilled Cheese" (three cheeses between perfectly grilled rustic sourdough toast w/ bacon & jalapeños & fries). Everything was fantastic, especially that heavenly grilled cheese! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Uncle Bock" (Doppelbock), "Less Gentle On My Mind" (Double New England IPA), and "Remedy" (Imperial Stout). They were all good, especially the latter two. Moving Pictures also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I hope to return to HRB!

Their pub food (menu) is amply portioned, quite good and fairly priced! Singularly the BEST burgers I've had anywhere in CT, hands down! Chicken cheesesteak with hot peppers is a close second -- strangely though, no 'real' Philly cheesesteak. Some of their evening specials include a beer which you never see anymore! A $10 dessert pretzel is a bit steep!

The vibe was chill, and the setup included both indoor and outdoor seating. It felt more like a casual hangout spot than a destination, very chill. It was like a Parkville Market or low-key brewery, but without its own beer or signature vibe. The bar only had one bartender, which made for a super long line so I ended up skipping a second drink. I do not even remember what was on their menu but they are supposed to have food trucks. The day we were there the truck was very late so we did not have that experience. We had popcorn and hot dogs. Great, fresh popped popcorn! I did notice a lot of kids running around outside, which as a parent, I appreciated. It's good to know this is a spot I could bring my kid on a sunny day and still enjoy some adult time outdoors. One major con? The bathrooms. They were in the basement, and the whole setup was kind of weird. Think padlocks on doors, maze-like hallways... Would I go back? Yes, maybe, but only on a hot day with live music and good company.

See that little stand-up thing on your table that says, "Beer Me?" See that big round button in its center? Well, just press the button, the whole thing lights up, so the staff can see it and someone will be there in a jiff to get you a new glass of suds. Is this a great country or what? I gotta thank my South Carolina buddy Ron for that "great country" line, he texted it back to me after I texted him a photo of the table thingy with an explanation. We loved our visit yesterday -great beer selection, super friendly service, a big spacious seating area (with a large outdoor seating option), terrific artwork on the walls that's for sale, and very nice food service as well. They had sixteen beers on tap yesterday, a nice selection representing different beer styles, and not overly IPA dependent, like some of the breweries I visit. I saw lagers, stouts, and a Kolsch. IPAs were well represented with Imperial Double, Session, New England, and milkshake IPA variants. My wife went with a 16-ounce draft of Weekend Warrior (American Lager - 5% ABV) for a very reasonable $5. I wanted their 12-ounce draft of Keepers of the Cake: Birthday Cake W/Raspberry & Strawberry (a White Stout - 6% ABV) for $8, but that wasn't available, so I went with their unfruited version of the same for $7. I loved my beer and sipped the Weekend Warrior too -both were excellent! Some of the names on the beer list made me chuckle -Pink Slip, Severance Package, Performance Review, and Big Riff. There's live music on Friday nights, and occasional food truck on site, and a separate food vendor (separate ordering and payment) in the back. We got a pretzel and a damned fine loaded hot dog. So where did the brewery's name come from? Years ago, Mark -the current Head Brewer's wife gave him a home beer brewing kit as a birthday gift. He entered a few beer competitions and won, including the prestigious Worthy Brewfest. The website puts it this way "Mark coined the name of the company based off his wish of one day quitting his desk job to pursue his dream of owning and operating his own brewery. It was not long until Mark was absolutely determined to become a true contributor in the craft beer community he loved." Mark found a business partner in his old boss, and the two of them quit together to open the brewery. As my buddy Ron said, is this a great country or what?

This brewery tends to have the biggest selection of different types of beer to choose from, and you won't find yourself saying wow, they have a good IPA but I don't like their lager. The food here is your basic snacks, and we don't mind if we have to have a couple of pretzels with dipping sauce to enjoy our beer outside with. If you like inside, the inside has spacious sitting and it is really nice to have an option where you can sit with someone and have a conversation and not feel like you need to shout over the people next to you. It is just great. I took home the Two Year Anniversary cans, which is a REALLY smooth and tasty ipa.
