The staff was friendly and helpful and gave good recommendations when we inquired as to a type of beer we wanted to get as a gift but didn't typically drink. Love that they offered two different flight sizes. A cool option if you want to try a bunch of things but want to share. Myself and each of my friends got a flight and the trays they used were extremely sturdy and the handle made it way easier to carry than those at other breweries. Tin Bridge Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Westfield, Massachusetts in October 2017. It was founded by brothers Joe and Nick Cocchi. Joe has been the guitarist for the popular Westfield-based metalcore band Within the Ruins since their formation in 2003. Nick spent several years working for a national flooring company. Around 2013, both brothers began homebrewing together as a hobby. After getting more serious about it, the two decided to open their own brick and mortar brewery. They chose the name "Tin Bridge" in reference to an old railroad bridge in Westfield that was part of the defunct New Haven and Northampton Railroad. The bridge was a local hangout spot when the brothers were growing up. The location chosen to house the new brewery had been home to a Westfield landmark called the Points East restaurant and lounge for several years. I first visited Tin Bridge Brewing in June 2019. I arrived by bicycle; I cycled to Westfield all the way from Farmington, Connecticut via the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail (the section in Westfield is known as the Columbia Greenway Rail Trail). The eponymous "tin bridge" is now incorporated into the rail trail. I arrived just as they were opening for the day. The interior was really cool; nice woodwork around the bar as well as a shuffleboard table and classic arcade cabinets for patrons. The flight paddles even come decorated with a railroad spike: a clever reference to the brewery's railroad connection. I ordered a flight of five samples including "Blueberry Graham Cracker Pie" (Pale Ale brewed with Graham Cracker Pie Crust and Blueberries), "Pomegranate IPA", "Operation Citra 5.0" (New England IPA), "Tropic Thunder" (New England Pale Ale), and "Peanut Butter Porter". I enjoyed my flight so much that I ordered a second one consisting of "Jalapeño Ale #3", "Foggy Notions (DDH Galaxy)" (New England IPA), "Project Haze #4" (New England IPA), "Bomber Stout", and "Hazelnut Coffee Stout (Nitro)". I throughly enjoyed all of the offerings, but my two favorites were the Blueberry Pie Beer and the Peanut Butter Porter; I ordered crowlers of them to take home. I really enjoyed my visit to Tin Bridge! It's a great place to stop after a long bike ride on the nearby bike trail. read more

Great little brewery. My parents live semi-local, so I'm sure I'll be back, and they won't necessarily have to drag me there. Probably 3.5 for beer overall, rounding up to 4 for the overall package. FINDING IT Look for the Phipps Liquor Store building, they're just left of it. If you're not from the area and have no idea what that means, look for a large curved red roof (see my pictures). Or look for Home Depot...Tin Bridge is in the complex across the street. VENUE The venue is awkward from outside, looks like one of those temporary buildings they throw up when a school/business needs cheap square footage. The inside, however, is very welcoming, clean, spacious appropriately lit, nicely laid out for the live music they had, and with a nice long bar that helps keeps the lines short. Plenty of space inside, and a nice new patio as well, for those looking for some sun. BEER Of the five I tried, they were generally all quite good. There's an app for that. Good variety. Looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer. Mosaic Maximus and Operation Citra 4.0 are good options, but why not just get a flight and try a few yourself? They offer flights, small pours and full pours, but you don't need to be a genius to realize the small pours are not a great deal. Just get the full pour... They do growlers as well. CT-Peeps - If you want a growler, don't forget to bring a "non-branded" one that meets MA requirements, otherwise you'll be stuck buying a new growler bottle as well. FOOD The food varies, as it is provided by food truck businesses...so I can't really help you here. Figure out who they have that day, then look the truck up on Yelp! PARKING A dumb thing to get excited about, but plentiful and spacious parking really revs my engine. They have lots of it. Lots. Ha. Really wish I had a 3rd pun for you. Damn. Anyway, I hate door dings (or risk thereof), but at Tin Bridge you can park as close or as far away as you want. read more

I like the darker beers over IPAs, and thought the Oat Stout was the best of the three I tried, followed by the Porter and the Nut Brown Ale. I'm not much of an IPA guy, but I found the Mosaic IPA super drinkable. They sell glass growlers, aluminum growlers and some very cool 32 ounce growler cans (Crowlers). The growler can process is a riot! They'll fill a lidless can with whatever you want on tap, then lovingly carry it over to a machine, place a lid on it, and you get to watch the thing rotate like crazy until the can is all sealed. Believe me, it's a lot more fun that watching the paint mixing machine at Home Depot ! I ordered two growler cans of their Mosaic IPA ($10 each) for my IPA loving pals. This is my third visit here, all at different days or times. I think it is now fair to say that the owners of this brewery deserve three stars. Typically, there is not food served here. I never ate at the old Points East which was here, and I doubt any restaraunt would bring people to this small corner, so I am excited to see people get into this place. I love (LOVE) the mosaic ipa, and I can always find an ipa I like. The peanut butter porter is also popular. You will always go "that sounds interesting" even if a certain type of beer is not your fave (sours for me). The bar area is long and cozy and there are family-style tables to sit at with groups or strangers. This place is unique in the blend of older and younger patrons, older and younger couples, business wear and bikers. Everyone fits in here, which is by far the thing that has stood out the most on all of my visits. We lucked out and had Murphy's food truck present along with Dan and the Caveman doing a spot on Smashing Pumpkin cover with an acoustic ending you had to hear to believe. read more

This brewery is tucked into the corner of a Big Y supermarket plaza right on Route 20 in Westfield. But if you don't know where to look you'll miss it tucked into the far left corner of the parking lot. Once you find it you will be very happy, especially if you like fruit based ales, as I do. The fruit based ales are part of their creamsicle series. You name the fruit and they've probably created an ale from it. The day I was there they had three: strawberry creamsicle, raspberry creamsicle and Italian plum crisp. All had a nice balance and lightness to them. None were overly fruity. It's a nice change on the taste spectrum from sour beers. I highly recommend this series of beers whether you like sour or non-sour ales. Raspberry was my favorite. For other tastes they have about 14 different taps going with most of the rest IPAs along with a porter and a stout also in the mix. Any beer fan will find something to like. Prices are also something to like. A flight of 5 beers is $12, which is reasonable and a pint pour will run you the usual $6-7. They have a popcorn machine on site, a rotating group of food trucks and there is also a Five Guys in the same shopping plaza for your fast food needs. read more

Great new addition to the beer scene in Western Massachusetts. Just opened on 05OCT17 and the lines were out the door. The inside is a nice...long bar, lots of wood, a few classic video games in the back. (Install a pinball machine and I'd be there daily). They started out with 7 beers on tap: Imperial Stout, Robust Porter, Session IPA, Brown Ale, American IPA, Imperial IPA and American Pilsner. Two of my standouts were the "Grip" New England Style Session and the "Radio Metel" Hopped American Pilsner. Food was available outside from a food truck and the pulled pork sandwiches looked good. Not sure if this means they will not offer food in the future, or if this was just an "opening night" thing. From the looks of the building, I can't see where a kitchen would be hiding. Regardless, cool place, good beer, relaxed atmosphere with that "new bar" smell. Will be back every time I'm back in Westfield visiting. read more

We LOVE tin bridge. It is my number one favorite brewery in Westfield. Kind of a hidden gem because it's a small building but it's big on the inside, big picnic style tables suitable for large groups or casual hangout. They play a great variety of rock music. My favorite beer is the Double Citra but they always have new every week, and I've never been disappointed. We love to go when there are food trucks out back (especially North Elm Butcher block.) read more

It's fun spot. The beer is good. Free popcorn and they have shuffleboard. Food truck wasn't ready when I was in but seemed like they have cool rotation of different trucks. My only complaint is that I overheard the bartender talking crap to a customer about another local brewery in the area even though he admitted that he actually hadn't ever been. Listen everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for one small business-blood-sweat & tears company to talk trash about another, knowing the hard work and risk that goes into opening up a business...is just not cool. read more

Pretty decent beers with an incredible interior! We love Operation Citra and Mosaic Maximus. Great brewery with frequent new releases. The interior and experience is what keeps bringing us back. With live music, free popcorn, and food trucks every weekend, we're sold. Perfect place to grab a bite to eat, have some good beers, play some shuffleboard, and listen to great local bands. Great beer, they had 11 on tap so we ordered two flights (10 beer samples) all were great. Not being a usual beer drinker peanut butter porter was my favorite. The atmosphere is so chill, live music when I was there and we were even able to sneak a couple of bar seats within 10 mins of being there. Tin bridge is located right next to Super Phipps in Westfield. Currently open Thursday thru Sunday with a food truck if your hungry. This place has a very welcoming feel to it with an industrial look. Free games, popcorn and water filling station as well. Oh and the beer try a flight they were all great. Since Tin Bridge opened in Westfield, we have been there more times than I care to admit....but let's just say it's a lot! They have some fantastic beers that are regularly available, and then the beers that are on rotation keep things interesting. All of the beers are made with quality in mind, which has been evident even in beers that aren't normally my preference. I personally think the peanut butter porter is the best beer at Tin Bridge, but the list of Tin Bridge beers that I have really enjoyed includes several others. Tin Bridge also keeps a great rotation of food trucks for when you want to dine while enjoying their beers. The food trucks that we've tried have all been delicious and a great complement to the beer selections. read more

Beer is always on point here. They have food trucks pretty often but I still wish they had food. They take flavors and get them into beer like I've never experienced before. Their jalapeño beer has all the flavor of the pepper but none of the heat. The raspberry pie was delicious. I could taste the raspberries and the graham cracker crust, it's unreal. They do have popcorn to munch but seats are limited and there's been a few times I've left because it was just too busy to bother. Some people like the energy, I like to just grab a beer and chill.
